Fabulous locals pub in burford, would highly recommend x.

The food is great and good value.

Roast beef dinner today was awesome, the Yorkshire was nice and crispy and the slices of beef were very generous. Attentive staff, great staff. Thank you.

The roast dinner was amazing. I had lamb, which melted in the mouth. To start I had calamari, this isn't a normal choice but so glad I chose it. Staff really friendly and very helpful. I recommend you try this restaurant if you are in Burford. 5 stars all the way.

My friends and I went there today. The chef was so good he came to the table and jigged the menu to suit one our friends so she could eat something she liked. The presentation of the meal was superb as was the taste. The staff were obliging and very friendly. Highly recommend it.

Stayed for one night in twin room overlooking high street. Beds were comfortable and bathroom nice and clean. Some street noise but not too bad, and not much hotel could do about it. Breakfast very nice and staff at breakfast helpful and quick. Marked down for poor lunch experience on day of arrival. Food took extremely long time and was not appetising. Beef sandwich very fatty and chips cold, left most of it.

Good location, super breakfast and adequate room. Happy hour from 4 to 7pm in the pleasant beer garden made an interesting start to the evening. Homemade pizza went down very well, especially the Golden Pheasant special.

Sunday roast, food delivered not piping hot. My pork should have come with Yorkshire pudding, not supplied. Wife's beef undercooked and sloppy. Cauliflower and broccoli like rock. No stuffing supplied with wife's meal but was on menu. At least they didn't charge us for one meal after wife complained.

Good location, nice beer garden. However the room had numerous problems and suffers from lack of love and maintenance. List of examples include the room being unbearably warm despite it being cool outside in summer. Shower door is missing so water will spray everywhere in the room. Lighting is rustic. Power cables cannot take the load of multiple appliances. Wi-Fi is non existent. If you wanted the fawlty towers experience, this is the place you.

The room was very small, but manageable for 1 night.
My biggest issue was the cleanliness. There were stains in the toilet yuk! The toilet brush holder was all rusty as was the bin in the bathroom. There was dust all in the corners and thick dust over the table where the teas, coffees and hair dryer was placed. All squashed together. … The bed was very small double and the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable.
The walls were all grubby and needed repainting.
I wouldn’t stay here again.

Very disappointed with our stay. We weren't given the room we booked and paid for (four-poster bed), and when we questioned it the staff there argued about what constitutes a four-poster bed! The room we were given wasn't in any of the photos online either, and the shower was at a fixed height of about 5'2", and either scolding or freezing, no in between. The shower screen was also broken so the floor was soaked when showering. The room was also way too hot, to the point where it was uncomfortable. All in all I was refunded an insulting £5, so paid for a regular room at £130 rather than my apparently 'luxury room' at £135. Would not recommend.

We stayed here for one night in the 'Lark' room. It was nicely decorated with a large modern bathroom and comfy bed. The room was so quiet so we got a great nights sleep. I would definately recommend this room — not sure what the other rooms are like.

Just spent the weekend here with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Good food and drink, a nice room and not at all stuffy like some places can be. Brilliant cooked breakfast, and we had a great roast beef dinner on Sunday. We will definitely be back.

Room was okay. Not a fan of walking down the hallway to the bathroom. The bulb over the room sink was out and the shower head was rubbish. If I liked water spraying on a square inch of my body at a time, I would just stand under a tap! Oh and the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall! The cooked breakfast was only average, but all the staff I dealt with were courteous and helpful.

It is a nice place to gather with friends and family for a drink. Great selection of wines and beers.

Well kept beers. Ok village ambiance. Not eaten here recently. Worth stopping for a few pints.

Enjoyed good food at lunchtime & the coffee was great. Friendly, prompt service. A huge disappointment that burgers were served on scratched wooden boards, with chips in a metal basket. I asked for my meal to be served on a plate & this was quickly done.

Nice pub, breakfast lovely but room was disapointing, needs some tlc… standard room which wasn't up to 'standard'.

Waited over 45 mins for our food and ended up leaving and going elsewhere. No apology for this just told they were busy. (Even though customers who arrived after us were served their food).

Lovely place to stay. Room was cosy with all the amenities in it. Noce touch with the books. Staff were nice but feel they could have been more welcoming and friendly. More veggie choices on the mains menu would be great but the pizza was delicious and really enjoyed the starter. Lovely breakfast. Waitress for both dinner and breakfast was lovely.

The staff were helpful and food was great. Was quite disappointed with my room. The shower was very small and the water flow was poor. I think they have other much nicer rooms. I was just unfortunate.

Lovely rustic, comfortable, clean and charming staff for an affordable (off-season) price. Only the mattress could have been of better Quality.

Traditional English Inn located in the heart of Burford in the English Cotswolds. Our stay was wonderful, right down to the room, the breakfast, and the evening meals from the pub.

Dinner was fantastic. Staff were friendly, pretty much the only place to get a pizza (a really good one) from Burford Highly recommended.

Great room, friendly staff that go the extra mile for you, food very good. would rate 9 out of 9 will stay again.

Good food and nice people also if you a fan of sport look no further and if you fancy a beer or nice white wine in this weather they got a beer garden.

Great location, great breakfast. Shame about the bed you could feel the springs.

Very limited parking for overnight guests, only 6 spaces, so had to park down the road. Good food, but steak came on a chopping board. What's wrong with a plate? Room was OK, but a little dark. No air conditioning so had to have the window open all night. The main road gets busy surprisingly early (before 06:00) so was awoken early by the traffic. Shower was tiny and took forever to get warm water, let alone hot. Breakfast was good. All in all, I'd rather stay at The Bull which is just up the road.

We visited the crocodiles of the world center yesterday and decided to have a wonder around Burford high street to get some lunch. Truly beautiful. Weather helped We decided to eat at the Pheasant, a roast beef and roast chicken … very tasty and a fish finger sandwich for our littleun. Would definitely recommend. The back garden is a real suntrap. Hope to return again soon to try the pizza.

Went here for a quick spot of lunch after a walk around Burford. The pizza was stunning and my wife really enjoyed her hummus wrap as well! Lovely service, and a great location as well! The staff were very friendly and I would consider perhaps staying at the inn as well, if we ever fancied more than a day trip the next time.

Just returned from the Golden Pheasant. The room we were allocated was very clean with a beautiful roll top bath which was fantastic. We also had a large flat screen TV which could be viewed from all angles even the bath. We had a great evening meal and we were also entertained by a very good singer/guitarist. Our breakfast was exceptional with everything you wanted. We will defiantly return for more of this excellent hospitality.

A pleasant restaurant with tasty food. If you want to try the best chips ever go there. It's an experience. They do chunky and thin. Place could do with a refurbish. In the summer they have a very small area at the back.

Was Great, especially as we were in a window seat looking out onto the high street with twinkly Christmas lights making us feel really snug.
Although we did not stay, we would very much conceder for next time as the establishment is in a most beautiful village and had a good atmosphere and lovely staff.
Bar and waiting on staff were top class with food and drink prices amazing, as we expected the prices to be more.
Special thanks to the waitress with short blonde hair and special mention to chef who produced a wonderful Crème of broccoli soup; was amazing, steaming and hot, as I hate soup that is just 'tepid'. Steak recommended. Thank you for a lovely evening and next time would look to staying with you x.

Went on the internet for a last minute booking (we were on a motorbike tour) and had the good luck to get the last room. Room was small but perfectly adequate for what we needed. Clean and nicely decorated, the ensuite was nice too though the shower could have been a bit more powerful… a minor point though. Had dinner which was great… I had the ribs and they were amazing (half rack sufficient for most diners I would imagine! ) We didn't have the full breakfast as we weren't that hungry but what we had was fine. Staff were all friendly and helpful… and to top it all it's in a beautiful place!

Very expensive and real ale flat with no head.

I booked here for a holiday to visit a friend who lived nearby. They confirmed a rate with me on the phone and sent an email confirmation. The email DID NOT include either their cancellation policy nor did it reconfirm the rate, which is standard hotel policy. When I called to cancel the day before due to a family emergency (father was ill last minute and I had to fly home) the night manager was rude, said he didn't care. Had they asked, I would have happily proven this was the case and emailed a copy of his hospital intake form. He then told me there was a 48 hour cancellation policy, which not only had I not known about but could not have predicted my father's illness. He then charged me the full amount which was 72 GBP more than I knew it to be and told me that as an American living in England, I probably struggle with the accent. I would definitely suggest someone not ever go here.

We visited this pub on a Sunday afternoon and made use of a voucher and what a lovely experience. The staff were all very welcoming and we were shown to our table promptly on arrival. We all had steak and chips which we all agreed was lovely and would have again. The pub was busy but it never felt over crowded, there is a good selection of drinks and if you are looking for somewhere to escape on a rainy day they have Sky Sports to keep you entertained. We will be back in the future.

Lovely place to stay, top floor room is the best. It is like a small apartment. Breakfast is just right not too greasey and not to much. Would recommend this lovely characteristic inn to any one.

The room was not cleaned when we were given the keys even though we were told it was ready. Empty toiletries and the previous occupants shower scrim could be found in the shower area. There was other rubbish to be found underneath the bed. Some of the guests were served breakfast even though we were in the dining room before them. I had to ask the gentleman who was taking the breakfast orders if he would like to know what we would like to eat the breakfast was fine when we got it. Then to top it all the decorators started painting as we ate our breakfast in the same room! burford is a beautiful place make it a special stay and try to find somewhere decent.

We were staying at Burford Lodge and found when we checked in that they were not serving lunch or dinner. Or drinks! Odd for a Hotel with bar and restaurant! We walked into Burford and found this place. It was very friendly and welcoming and the food excellent. Very good value for money. Definitely worth a visit. Sue, Herts.
