Just arrived rooms and view are fantastic couldn’t wish for more.

We were the only guests for the night but that made no difference to the stay. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we were given a wonderful room. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a staycation!

Such a lovely hotel. Rooms are tastefully decorated. And the view is fantastic of St Brelade s Bay from the sea view balcony. All the staff are very welcoming and the food is lovely. Will definitely return xx.

Couldn’t be a nicer location, all food was just perfect. But the staff made it for us, every single person was so helpful, friendly and just seemed happy to be there. Would recommend to anyone.

Just come back from an amazing few days at this hotel nothing is too much trouble all the staff are amazing they are friendly and efficient. The room was lovely and the beds amazing. The breakfast was fantastic and to top it off right on the beach which was a big plus. Would definitely return here.

We are only day 2 into our 7 day holiday but so far we are so so impressed! The hotel is immaculate (and I have high cleanliness standards.

My first time in Jersey and it was worth it.

From the moment the taxi pulled up we were made welcome, the staff were there straight away to greet us — before we’d even stepped through the doors. For the whole of our stay we felt part of a ‘the family’ — nothing was too much for them, offering advice on sightseeing, places to eat, things to do. Added to which we had a lovely room overlooking the beach. We are already looking to book our next visit here, we enjoyed it so much.

It was all good. Very clean great sea views friendly staff and the food was great.

5 stars We had a warm welcome and the hotel staff couldn’t have been more helpful.
The hotel is in the most idilic bay with picturesque views which we enjoyed from our room balcony.
We will definitely be recommending this hotel to our family and friends and if we get the chance to visit Jersey again this is where we will aim to be.

Worst hotel I've have stayed in service poor not worth the rating and is not value for money. Rooms are average nothing special advise any traveller if staying confirm the type of room they are booking and check upon arrival what you have been allocated. Please note I have travelled world wide and establishments with less star rating have been far better. Food quality is average breakfast is buffet style and seemed to run out of food only 30minutes later. Customer service experience is not the best but be warned if you complain about not meeting expectations for its rating or service. This response received is 2 weeks post stay to which the contents are similar to the email received. Although it is stated about very few complaints in business ' one complaint is one too many'.

Great 5 night break, lovely clean hotel, (well done house keeping). We went Bed and Breakfast which we are glad, as there are some lovely eateries near by. The breakfast was very enjoyable and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The location is perfect, with a lovely view of the bay, places to eat within walking distance and a car park opposite the hotel. Will definitely be returning very soon.

Well this is my first of two nights at the hotel. My initial reactions: Room very very very basic not many toiletries, the fan is a basic desk fan not enough for s family room. The TV only turns up to 15 not loud enough for the room. The room itself doesn't have any WOW factors, mini fridge etc. Paying just shy of £400.00 for 2 nights I was disappointed. Upon check in our ferry was late I had two hungry kids who hasn't eaten much on the boat. Guess what nothing offered no food and basically told oh well. When a hotel is lacking in things like parking, pool, gym, spa it should compensate in other ways (sadly L'horizon didn't have rooms! ) The check in receptionist seemed unsympathetic to my situation no friendly chatter and overall I felt I have received better service for budget hotels on the mainland. The bathroom was not overly clean I used a towel and some disposable wipes I had in my purse to clean the bathroom. The king size bed is two singles pushed together no zipper in the middle so I hope you don't expect to cuddle anyone as you will fall thru. One positive is a family lounge with dvds great I thought except they want you to watch them in this lounge as there is no DVD on your TV and the dvds are locked up… awkward … maybe tomorrow will be a better day?

Location on the beach is very nice, but otherwise there is a lot to complain about. It is an older house that you notice, for example, in the bathroom … Shower curtain. Loud luefing … Carpeted floors is not the latest breakfast not varied … Unfortunately, we didn't have rooms for the sea … The Hette probably compensates a lot. No recommendation for golden sand. The price performance team is not right.

This is day 6 of a 7 day visit, and I'm pleased to say that the hotel is excellent, and my room very comfortable. I was in a single room, which was more than big enough for me. The double bed was comfortable and the pillows were exceptional — a major plus for me. Bathroom was spotless and the shower excellent — always set at the correct temperature. The staff (throughout the hotel) are very friendly, and were most helpful on the few occasions that I sought advice. My room was serviced every day and towels changed daily. Tea, coffee, milk etc. Was replenished every day and I never wanted for a cuppa. My only 'gripe is that the walls are 'thin' and a neighbour playing their TV — even at a reasonable sound level — will be a significant disturbance. St Brelade is quite beautiful with a wonderful beach and some nice restaurants, but there is little else, so be prepared to visit the sights (or the local hostelries) during the day. There is a bus stop 50 metres from the hotel and the Liberty buses run frequently — and on time. All in all a nice break. I would heartily recommend the Golden Sands.

The beach is beautiful and right outside the Hotel, just a shame my budget didn't extend to a sea view. Would definitely go back again.

Fantastic location and superb breakfast.

I’ve been to the island seven times in my life and stayed here three times and am due back this year. Our children have grown up coming to the Golden Sands and whilst we’ve been lucky enough to travel far and wide I can honestly say nowhere feels as relaxing as the Golden Sands. The beach is fantastic, the staff are excellent and what the hotel might miss in minor details it more than makes up for in the quality of its service and food. Due back this year and can’t wait.

Friendly hotel with an amazing beach location. Quiet in winter but with regular bus service to St. Helier. Good walks locally, Waitrose nearby, some good restaurants and pubs close. The staff all seem to really enjoy working here which makes for a great atmosphere.

Fantastic venue, food and bar staff, will definitely be returning especially Ben John and Daniel.

Excellent location centrally situated in St Brelades Bay right on the prominade. Attentive, friendly staff. Modern comfortable rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast. In fact the best I've ever experienced. Our sea view is the best we've seen. Room walls are partition so a noisy neighbour could be an issue but this was not the case for our stay.

Sat with a drink looking at deserted beach. Watching the tide come in. Its 19.13 tide will be in at 22.55. Good food, nice rooms, lovely views, The staff are very helpful. Top place to stay.

Stayed for 3 nights, very clean rooms and bathroom, nice staff, very good food, especially the cooked breakfast. Lovely position overlooking St Brelades Bay. Only real negatives was the room became quite hot at night even with the heating in our room turned off and the shower head was quite low. But overall very good.

A fine hotel, great location by the seafront. Rooms are comfortable, cosy; tea making facilities but no fridge/cooler. Breakfast was good, decent variety. Dinner/restaurant (and consequently hot food room service) stops at 8.30pm — quite disappointing. Overall a good hotel.

It was (and is — cause I am still there) great, lovely, fantastic! I felt seldom so welcome! What a brillant and superb staff. Very friendly, very helpful, warm hearted… sorry there are not enough words in my english vocabular to describe this wonderful hotel, staff and food. Love to come back … hopefully in October.

We have just returned from the most enjoyable holiday ever, spent at this beautiful hotel.
Avril and her staff could not have looked after my family better.
The room was perfect as always and the food the same. The afternoon tea is a must!

Would put 0 stars if I could terrible service wrong drinks waited an hour for 3 baggettes Took friends and family and was embarrassed. Waiter really didn't have a clue what he was doing atol. One Scottish bar man who seemed to know what he was doing trying to do a hundred jobs felt bad for him as he seemed to be running the hotel. Went to the desk to complain and the "manager" couldn't understand me so I couldn't even make a complaint left in a rage won't be back.

My wife and I had stayed previously at another Dolan Hotel, and tried this one on recommendation from friends. We found it superb, location excellent with stunning views, and the staff were fantastic — always smiling and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb (especially breakfast) and the dining room had great views. We are "not in the prime of life! " and access to all parts of the hotel were easy and the promenade immediately in front of the hotel was great for walks with good bars and restaurants within walking distance. We are going again in September and we highly rate this Hotel.

A first class stay at a first class hotel, the staff were excellent and could not do more to make you feel relaxed, the location was stunning the views from the bedroom was amazing also from the relaxed atmosphere of the dining room balcony.

My wife and I stayed at the Golden Sands hotel for a long weekend break in April 2009 and found the staff to be very helpful. The food in the restaurant was first class and the service provided excellent. The room was in close proximity to the beach and the tide came right up to the sea wall which was the width of a footpath away. The views around the bay are breathtaking and we are likely return for another long weekend later in 2009.
