Reviews of Best Western PLUS Ruby's Inn 2*
Great atmosphere with friendly staff.
Nice place I was there in 2013
Great room and food it was a wonderful time.
We stayed here three nights when we visited Bryce Canyon. The staff was helpful and friendly. Room was nice and large and the beds were comfortable. The best part is they allow pets. I will say that this hotel gets a lot of use but it was still clean. We ate at the diner and the food was really good and the staff was friendly. This is a great place to stay while visiting the park.
Great place to stay with so much to do! Room was clean and ready when we got here. Only complaint would be no hair dryer. Free buffet breakfast. Very good!
The room is dirty especially the carpet and mold in the bathroom. The other Best Western hotels have solid floors.
Beautiful lobby
friendly staff
clean rooms
beautiful views
close to trails/park.
Great place to stay. Great restaurant inside the hotel. We keep coming back.
This hotel/ motel is definitely one of a kind. The perks to me was the 2 king beds, complimentary breakfast buffet & the general store! We got put in one of the motel buildings, which was nice, but older, so had squeaky floors and an older look. Great stay though!
Spacious rooms! Location! Great breakfast!
You can’t get much closer to Bryce Canyon. Great rooms combined with a well stocked attached General Store/Gift Shop, attached restaurant, pool and fitness center make this THE best place to stay if you’re traveling to visit the National Park.
Very courteous front desk personnel! Kudos to hotel mgmt!. Place maintained so cabin feel!
Good customer service! spacious room.
Good service. Clean room,
Easy check in, friendly staff, minutes to Bryce Canyon NP.
We had such a nice stay while visiting Bryce Canyon. The hotel was clean and the staff was very cheerful and kind. The restaurant was delicious and extremely knowledgeable with dietary restrictions. They went above and beyond with our meals for celiac disease. We will visit again!
Very nice place, clean, friendly people, reasonably priced.
Such a lovely lodge right at the gate of the park! loved the historical feel and photos from the past. The room was very nice. Has a pretty complete grocery store, an amazing gift shop and nice steakhouse restaurant. We would definitely visit again.
Maybe. So far no ice to be found in the ice machines
Be ready for a 22 $
Breakfast was typical best western steam table eggs mystery sausages and cold sticks of something maybe potatoes
Coffee served cold but they did have ice water not so friendly waitstaff
Country store clerks were there at 7 when it opened but acted like we were the inconvenience in our purchase would I recommend no not really
Do you know what is sad our expecting were one thing but it has been a disappointment the photo on the site should reflect the true experience no the dream.
It's big. Lots of amenities on site.
We had a group of 9 people that reserved rooms and horses back riding through Ruby’s Grand Adventure. It was by far the best experience I have had. The rooms were exceptional, the food delicious and the staff super friendly and helpful. Brady amd his wrangler staff made our riding experience the best ever! We felt like part of their family. Look forward to doing it again.
This is an awesome historical motel.
This Inn was the biggest I have been to. There was everything you would need for traveling. Very friendly and clean.
Large rooms with fridge and a microwave nice indoor swimming pool and s jacuzzi.
Horrible customer service and the amount of money paying for this vacation and not given us the hotel rooms that we ordered and disrespect and just being disrespectful.
Nice place to stay on our Road Scholar bus tour. Wish my BW points would count toward this stay. The rooms for the bus groups were clean, quiet and with comfortable beds. The restaurant next door for guests, has a very large buffet.
Just stayed three nights at Ruby's Inn. We were right across from the pool on the third floor and it wasn't noisy at all. There were quite a bit of people lounging outside and so I expected it to be noisy but it wasn't. We loved being right outside the pool and having a restaurant and store so close. The kids loved staying here. Plus staying so close to Bryce National Park was amazing too!
Absolutely the worst place I’ve ever stayed. First, there is no insulation in the walls or ceilings. You can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. The people upstairs were either line dancing all day and night or the room was rented to elephants. The key cards only worked 1 out of 10 times, and when the front desk was told, the gal shrugged her shoulders. The water was either frigid or scalding and alternated as you showered. The front desk staff were horrible! Not helpful and rude. We will never be back.
We enjoyed our stay at Rubys from 11-15 Feb. We found staff to be friendly and courteous. We really liked the breakfast buffet. Our room was clean and warm in spite of some very cold nights (-7degrees). Out of habit I turned the heat down before leaving our room on the first morning. Upon our return we found the button to turn the heat up was broken and wouldn't work. I called the front desk and they asked if I would like to move to another room or have it fixed. I preferred the latter. In no more than 20-25 minutes the old heater had been removed and replaced. Now that's service! Our overall experience was positive. Especially attractive are the winter rates.
Poor check in experience with a late time of 4pm (unlike any other hotel I have stayed in) and a rather cold unfriendly front desk. Even after registering credit card and passport and given a room number and card holder on returning at 4pm I was made to produce my registration details again. Why? The room was fine, the Wi-Fi was OK and everything was clean. The restaurant service was friendly but the food was very poor and very expensive. I could not eat the coconut shrimp as it was so sweet it was like a dessert. The dip with it was sweeter. The server was told why it was not eaten but no offer of an alternative or refund was made. The problem here is that there are no alternatives to eating in the hotel except for a fast food outlet and another music/dining restaurant owned by the same company. If you have to stay in Bryce Canyon, be prepared for lack of eating choices.
OLD, just really old. We stayed in what looked like a converted one floor motel, so maybe not the main part of the facility (by the Canyon Diner on the map). The rooms weren't terribly clean. Beds were okay. Furniture old. Old curtains. Old bathroom fixtures, a little moldy. BUT, there aren't many choices by Bryce. The other Best Western in town is MUCH more modern looking.
The hotel is comfortable and clean, the king beds are spacious even for 2 people. But More than a hotel, it would be classified as a real multifunctional center: West-style shopping district; restaurant, rodeo, excursions of all kinds. This and much more, perhaps in the only centralization (you will find many people and many tourists), within 20/30km on the 12th highway. All in pure American style, even fake at times but always cute. I don't recommend arriving late to the restaurant in the evening. He's going to be stormed.
Great place to stay if your going to Bryce Canyon. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with plenty of choices of pillows. The have a Restaurant on the property and a store/gift shop that has everything. Ruby's Inn is convenient and close to the Bryce. I definitely stay here every time we venture that way and that is every year.
Front desk gave me a key to use business center than a housekeeper came and scream and kick us out. She was extremely rude and her behaver was continued till front desk. When I told front desk they said they don’t know why she was like this and if I have a problem I should call general manager. I asked them I like to talk to someone since I am already here they said there is no one… I would recommend whatch out for employees.
Ruby’s Inn is great! About a 6 minute drive to Bryce Canyon entrance. Rooms are clean and deliciously chilled with AC, very important after hiking all day. Ice machines, paid soda vending machine, free Wi-Fi and across the street are some cute shops and ice cream parlor. Also available to rent instead of a room are cute little cabins. I will certainly come back and I give this place an enthusiastic thumbs up.
We are staying at the Ruby's Inn RV Park (which is fabulous) and after a hike we went into the Cowboy Buffet for a late lunch. Lunch is until 4:45. I had the soup and salad bar. It was very good. Lots of items and 3 different soups. Hubby had a burger and fries. He said it was great. Very enjoyable. The host and servers seemed confused over where we should sit and whose section we were in, but it was all good.
We only stopped for breakfast. Buffet, sweet and salty. Eggs, bacon, sausages and potatoes for the salty part, sheets with various jam for the dessert (on these I can not express judgement because I have not taken), then usual bread/biscuit/pancake with butter and jam. Very good fruit, despite the Bryce being away from everything.
Okay without more. It clearly abuses their dominant position, everything belongs to the surrounding area (shop, shop, restaurants, …). A tip: Refuel before you arrive and/or made the road and go further.
Incredible! An extraordinary atmosphere with beautiful scenery, an extra comfort room, a spa and a gym at the top! In short, only happiness.
Dark room, old-fashioned, sound, with dusty carpet (especially corners, walls and carpets…).
Deplorable reception.
The laundry is clean (towels, sheets) and the hotel is close to the park. These are the only two positive points for us.
Excellent value for money. Great breakfast but a little waiting before being installed. Very well placed hotel with local business, restaurant, souvenir shop… Free Parking. Wifi that works very well. I would highly recommend.
Very convenient to Bryce with all the amenities and a very helpful staff. I appreciated having a store and restaurant right on the premises. The breakfast buffet was nice to have available. For lunch and dinner the restaurant had very limited vegetarian and fish options, so we ate elsewhere. Ruby's is very close to the entrance to the park and there's a shuttle stop right there. All in all we were satisfied with Ruby's and would stay there again.
Probably should be rated 3 1/2 stars. Noisy air conditioning, but they did have double sinks in the bathroom. It would be nice if there was more coffee in the room as it was a hike to the restaurant or general store. Beds were comfortable. Great location with an average restaurant with reasonable prices.
Hotel has to avoid absolutely! Noisy, dirty, poor quality bedding, installations of the years 60 never restored since and overpriced! Bad food… Gives a very bad picture of the Best Western channel.
When I was doing my research on Bryce, this was the hotel that I saw being recommended all the time. The price wasn't ridiculous so I booked a room here. It's located just outside of the park, which is a huge plus! There's a restaurant on site, but I didn't get to eat there. Check in was smooth and the employees were friendly and helpful. My room was on the second floor of one of the lodges closer to the back. There were stairs on the ends and also in the middle. The bed was comfortable, room clean. Also, there's a fridge in the room.
This hotel is older and not at all fancy, but we got a great deal on it via Priceline so I cannot complain too much. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our only real complaint would be the overpriced food. We got the buffet and did not feel that it was worth it. Unfortunately, there aren't many options around so we didn't really have a choice. One thing that I would like to point out is the exceptional service we received upon checking in. The employee, Glenda, that checked us in was so incredibly friendly. We had a long day and it was getting late and were not looking forward to standing in line to check in. She was very sweet, had a smile on her face, and was joking with us the whole time. She really brightened our day and started our whole experience out on a positive note. I really hope this company values employees like her because it means so much to the customers. Thank you, Glenda!
Great but please there are too many people in the pool, kids in the Jacuzzi and pool, playing ball etc.
Nice quaint hotel, functional but only for the visit of the National Park Bryce Canyon. The rooms are modest but quite large and clean. The major flaw is the poor offer of both local to eat and souvenir shops nearby, especially since you are at the gates of the only point of access to the park.
Recently stayed one night. Didn’t have a reservation during spring break but they had a room open. Room was nice. Water pressure needs some looking into. The craziest thing though was the static electricity that the sheets on the bed created. We had our very own lighting storm in the room haha! No really though it was so bad it made our hair stand up! Glad there was nothing combustible in the room or it would have been a problem.
All right, little tail for dinner.
Was not our first stay and will hopefully not be the last.
Very nice hotel nice rooms The only bad close early the restaurant is the only one in the area and everything closes at 21:00 and then you have nothing open. XQ is bad if someone arrives for that time is left without dinner.
The room is large and with good cleanliness. The hotel is very big and has a big shop with anything. The only problem was the difficulty in dining. In fact there was a lot of people and the restaurant overcrowded. We went to eat in the fast food restaurant, also here packed but at least the wait was reduced. Very good location because of the entrance to the park.
Good hotel.
Comfortable.
Very nice rooms.
Great location to Bryce Canyon for a very affordable price. We stayed in the main lodge which was convenient. The general store along with their restaurant was a short walking which is great especially if you hiked all day. We were there during their off season so other restaurants were closed. This was literally the only place to eat. The food wasn't too bad and the buffet was good. Our room was clean and comfortable. Overall, we would stay here again.
Beautiful historical structure with a unique style (not suitable for vegans) spacious rooms is clean. Bathroom light with timer to shut off a little annoying. Very convenient The food store and consequently the microwave in the room. It is the closest structure to the canyon so even the best.
Very nice hotel complex, but also very expensive in the restaurant and shop.
And alcohol is extremely expensive since in Utah.
The lobby was decorated very nicely with a western lodge feel and motif. The art gallery inside was very nice, along with the gift shop. The food in the restaurant was quite overpriced though, and the breakfast buffet did not have a large selection. The room was comfortable, but the bathroom could use updating. The bed was on the hard side. It is very convenient to Bryce Canyon National Park, and quite adequate for a short stay.
I didn't stay at the hotel, but I did spend time in the lobby while eating at the restaurant and going to the general store. This review is for the experience at the restaurant and store. The restaurant is one of the only food options available in the off season. Unfortunately there was a long line to get seated and very slow service. The general store is an oddity with all sorts of unique items. If you are camping in the area, it would be a great spot to load up on expensive supplies. Overall I felt as if the staff was somewhat bothered that people were there, and didn't take any effort to ensure a good customer experience.
We stayed here during a video shoot and had a wonderful experience. Excellent staff and a wonderful location! They also recently replaced hot water tanks with a whole new heating system so they no longer have problems with hot water/hot and cold flux. We all enjoyed hot showers at the end of our work days. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location.
I rarely write reviews and when I do, they are typically only a sentence or two. However, I was thoroughly impressed with literally everything about or stay. Ruby's Inn was a very pleasant experience. We stayed there during the Bryce Canyon Winter festival. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They provided several activities for the winter festival — this included crafts for the kids, snowshoeing/ hiking, archery, fat bike activities, kayaking lessons, pottery classes, line dancing, etc. Nearly all of the classes and activities were free. We stayed in a room that overlooked the lake. Although it was frozen over, it was a beautiful view. The hotel location was in the center of town and close to everything — restaurants, gas station, post office, laundromat, gift shops. The hotel has a fitness center and they have an indoor pool making it nice to use year round. Even with all the extra guests around for the festival, it was kept clean and tidy. The weather was pretty cold during our stay. I was pleasantly surprised that our room stayed warm. The last fee hotels that I've stayed in during the winter felt noticeably drafty. There wasn't any draft at all in or room. The room was clean and the bathroom was updated. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning a trip to Bryce Canyon. My family will definitely being staying there the next time we are in town.
We had to get a second room because the first smelled so bad. The second smelled bad too (just not quite as bad. ) I believe it was a cleaning product they used. We had to buy air freshener to stand it! Bed was horrible. We tossed and turned all night. I woke up a couple of times an hour from midnight to six a. M. Hubby managed about 3 hrs of sleep and he didn’t have a good time at Bryce or other places we went yesterday. The attached restaurant has Way overpriced meals and the service was ridiculously slow. The breakfast was also very slow but the prices were reasonable. We had the same server at 8:30 am as we did at 8:30 pmtge night before. Won’t be going back.
A large hotel complex at the entrance to Bryce.
There is also a supermarket, restaurant, laundry, swimming pools, etc.
In the rooms, the standard set of microwave and refrigerator is supplemented with an iron with an ironing board and a hairdryer.
Wi-Fi works.
Expectations were not met in relation to the room. No hotel room but motel rooms on sprawling grounds. No changing rooms at the indoor pool. Dinner good, breakfast very good. Unfortunately no appealing presentation of the buffet.
What a fun place to stay! even in winter when a lot of the services and entertainment isn't available, it was still a great place with lots of character and a fun theme. The rooms were nice, clean, and it was a nice surprise to find that they had hung a bag of new supplies (such as clean towels and more disposable cups, etc) on our door knob (because we put up the do not disturb sign). They have a store with food and supplies if you forgot something, a decent restaurant, and a nice pool and hot tub. Great place to stay!
The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was very friendly. Food in the restaurant was delicious.
Find another place to stay! This is the best place to stay if you want to stay awake all day long! We were staying in rooms 7035, 7036, 7037. The appliances in these rooms rattles all day long. I had to keep the microwave door open to reduce the rattling. The fan in the bathroom is very noisy. And the best part is, we are right behind the garbage dump, which have a very high level of activity since early morning. And I am now even a light sleeper! You'd be better off sleeping in your car on the side of the highway!
Great price and location. My room with double queens was spacious and clean. The heated pool, Jacuzzi, and fitness room were very nice. The General Store had a little bit of everything for almost everyone. My only concern was the strong smell of disinfectant in the room (maybe carpet cleaner) and the mold on the bathroom ceiling.
What s great place to stay. Our room was super clean very spacious and you won't find a better price for the amenities within 60 miles. Perfect for large or small groups. My kids loved the gift shop and the indoor pool. We will defiantly come back!
We got the hotel for a good price on a travel website at the beginning of the off season so it wasn't too busy but there were still quite a few other guests. The room was good, appeared clean and the bed was comfortable. They have a pretty good general store, a little overpriced but not terrible considering there is really nothing else in the area to get groceries or supplies. The restaurant was okay but overpriced. We tried to eat there for dinner but after being seated never got service from our server so we left without eating. Overall a good experience if you are headed to Bryce Canyon since it is just outside the park entrance.
Wonderful place tidy and clean essential room on our arrival. Our room was far (300m) from the main facility where there were all facilities like the restaurant Lo shop and the pool. But easily accessible. The only flaw that our room was on the second floor without a lift and carrying the suitcases was a hassle. The breakfast is very expensive and I recommend it only if you want to make an American breakfast. If you are celiac like me you will not find much to addendare only the eggs and the fruit.
Warm complex. The presence of wood/decoration makes the place authentic. The pool and spa are very nice (stay in November) and the restaurant is good (only a la carte dishes were taken and the buffet was not tested but looks very decent).
Brice Canyon Park is just a few minutes away, allowing you to consider a stay of several nights.
Excellent value for money with room rate.
Great hotel at the nearest access to Bryce Canyon. Honestly, this is the best hotel of the 8 hotels we changed during our 16 day trip around America. The biggest plus of this hotel is three meals a day on the buffet system (they are called buffet), though a day without fast food!
Nice, spacious room with good facilities (fridge etc. ). Parking directly in front of the room. Good starting position for Bryce Canyon NP. Shopping facilities available. Big Souvenir shop.
We double-booked our room.
At more than 9pm people tried to get back into our room, if we hadn't been there they would have had access to all our Mac hardware/camera… So we are very disappointed. Moreover the staff at the reception was not the most welcoming…
I am not familiar with the other hotels but this Ruby S Inn in addition to its ancient history which begins in 1910 is a great Lodge to sleep in. Both for the very spacious clean and renovated rooms, for services like Internet the printer for online check in but especially for the restaurant and its location. Closest to Bryce's entrance.
Super recommended.
Good service with all the amenities you need to explore Bryce Canyon. Great location to the Bryce Canyon National Park. (2 minutes drive to entrance). One of the few options close to the park. Ruby's Inn also has its own restaurant since food options were limited around here. A bit on the pricey side but with decent food given the location. Happy with our stay overall.
The hotel has a great location and decorated in an amazing western style. The restaurant is a good breakfast and dinner buffet. Unfortunately, many of the shops and the rodeo are closed in October.
Toilet was very loose, when sitting on it you thought you were tipping around, tiles were loose. Otherwise it was actually OK.
Staff quite helpful and friendly which was not often the case during our tour. Normal and classic room and free parking right next door. The evening dinner is a buffet. On the other hand, the choice of desserts is limited and not terrible to the visual. Before returning to the restaurant, you can buy wine at the small bar next to the reception, the prices are very democratic which is not the case on the coast of California. At the end of your meal, you can take it to your room.
We were surprised with how nice and how large our room was at Ruby's Inn. We were excited to see Bryce Canyon, so that was most of our focus. After we saw our room, we wished we would have had more time to stay in the room. It was very comfortable with a nice sitting area and desk in the main room plus a large bathroom with a double vanity and whirlpool tub. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel restaurant, and the food and speedy service were superb. They have a wonderful store and gift shop off the main lobby, and we enjoyed shopping there. The lobby and main hallways were tastefully decorated with beautiful pictures of Bryce Canyon and the history of this historic hotel. We will definitely stay there if we ever come back to see Bryce Canyon again.
Hotel conveniently located near Bryce Canyon, with all amenities (food store, petrol station, etc…) Only downside, the quality of the showers.
Great location (cannot get closer to the Bryce Park entrance) so very convenient. The main lodge is great with gift shop, nice lobby, and was very impressed with the restaurant… a great buffet breakfast for a reasonable price (would have been nice to be included as an amenity). The motel room finishes are very tired. I think we were in an ADA room because the shower sprayer was low and could barely take a shower. Internet service was weak but still manageable. I thought overall room price was high given the outdated buildings and included amenities.
Five minutes from Bryce Canyon Park, the hotel is a classic motel consisting of five buildings at different distances from the lobby. Each building includes two rooms with vending machines for drinks and ice. The hall complex is also composed of a General Store, where you can buy practically everything, and from the restaurant. In a building apart from there is an automatic coin laundry with washing machines and tumble dryers. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-soundproof, equipped with TV, radio alarm clock, air conditioning, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, microwave and mini fridge. Meals and breakfast are served in the restaurant adjacent to the lobby. The menus and buffets are varied and the food is of good quality. Drinks are always charged separately. An inconvenience that affects not little, from my point of view, the final score is represented by the fact that to enter the room you need to be accommodated by the waiters. And this inevitably involves long queues to eat, with waits of even 20 minutes.
Excellent experience the hotel is just a little bit out and the prices a little high for the service. Levpersonnel was charming and very hospitable. I thank them.
Good hotel with spacious room. The staff at the hotel amiable, but do not speak French. Very good stay.
A very nice experience and the place is filled with charm. The location is perfect.
The restaurant is welcoming and the service fast and conviviably.
I would recommend this place with pleasure and satisfaction.
Stayed here for three nights and were lucky enough to stay in the newest building (7000). Everything was very modern with a spacious and well equipped room as well as a bathroom. Otherwise not many wishes remain open, from a fitness room to an indoor as well as Outdoorpool and two different restaurants right on the premises everything is available which is so needed (of course also Wi-Fi). Parking spaces were available directly in front of the respective buildings and were always adequate.
The location in Tusayan is very good as the national park is easily accessible on the one hand and there are many shops and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. We were very pleased with the hotel and we would recommend it to anyone.
Great place. Clean room. We were missing a set of towels. We called front desk and they delivered it to us in under 5 minutes. The restaurant here has amazing food. The general store has all the essentials and more. Would recommend this place for an overnight stay.
Excellent food. Normal prices. Great Buffet.
Great Buffet Although they attract you with a price but drinks are excluded so, along with taxes, you spend about 22/23 dollars more than the price shown on the outside poster. Anyway good food.
Room was clean and comfortable. Refrigerator was noisy. There were no security bars in shower. Bottom of bath tub was slick. The bed, although a little firm, was comfortable. Food in restaurant was good. Restaurant and room, overall, a good value.
Comfortable room. Well-stocked breakfast Buffet. Not tested restaurants.
Best hotel I have lived during the 12-day trip. The room is spacious and is fully equipped. It's worth the money. Besides, the staff is friendly. It is an ideal choice to stay if you want to visit Bryce canyon. It's close and convenient.
The room was very nice but we we're lucky to get it since they cancelled the room on us. I called 3 times to schedule, reschedule and confirm and they never asked for a credit card not told me that if we didn't arrive by 4pm our room would be given away. Thankfully they had a room when we arrived but after checking out I realized they charged us 60% more than what they quoted us. I have an email out to find out why they upped the rate. We will see what their response is…
This hotel is superb. The rooms are clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. The restaurant serves a good breakfast and has a buffet available as well. The laundry area was clean but bring quarters. Quarters are available at the General Store but it wasn't open when I did the laundry. The General Store is very nice and has everything available but prices are a bit high. It's convenient though for just about anything you would need. The area is breathtaking. Take time to do some star gazing nearby, it's incredible.
Great location. My TV didn't work but by the time I tried to watch it, I didn't want to bother waiting for it to get fixed before bed. At check-in, they asked for my email address, and handed me a notepad where 3-4 previous guests had written their email addresses, clearly visible to me. I did not put down a real email address, as the hotel did not appear to be interested in keeping my information private. Did not use pool or hot tub. Dinner in one of the banquet room for a convention was great. Would probably stay here again when visiting Bryce.
Located just over a kilometre from Bryce Park, it is a bit kitschy for the western style but at the end of the fun. The rooms are large and clean, perfect for families. Great supermarket and laundrymat facilities inside and a nice pool. Do not miss the rodeo show from Wednesday to Saturday. Great breakfast. I recommend it.
Nice place and good dinner. And I tell you from Italian. Acceptable costs. In C is also a market to take advantage of for taking snacks for the tour of the park. Recommend the place.
It is a very agadabre place a Crima eselente you can aser your purchases I like thank you very much.
Hotel was average. Restaurant was horrible. Service was slow-if at all. We had to find waiter for drinks at breakfast. Had the buffet-food was horrible. Nothing redeeming about this restaurant. Bad service, bad food. Decided to eat food from the the convenience store the next day rather than have another meal here.
Once again, thank you for the great service & stay! This was our 6th year of ringing in the New Year there. My only complaint was after a few years break, the bear pictures were gone out of "our" room (we've stayed in the same room each time). The quick repair of a leak was very good & we like the new tile/tub. Thanks to the staff & to the cooks/folks at the Cowboy Buffet & Steak Room, too.
My family went on a 2 week long camping and hiking vacation. Ruby's Inn was one of our last stops on the trip, and out of everywhere we have been in the southwest USA, this is the best place that I have been to! We stayed at the campground, which was quiet, spacious and the showers were included with the fee. The bathrooms and showers were pristine, they even had filtered water! We had breakfast at the cowboy's buffet, and even though we were too late for the actual buffet, we ordered from the menu and it was truly delicious! This place is so clean, and beautiful! We will be coming here again for years to come. I am extremely impressed! I also love the fact that this place has been owned and operated by Ruby's family for 100 years! Thank you!
Check in was smooth and employees are nice. This was our first stay and our impression was good. Lots of stores to buy anything you need and I mean anything. Store prices were reasonable but not too overpriced. Room was clean and spacious. Our bed was comfortable but the floors creaked so much the person staying below us was tapping on the ceiling when five of us were walking around late one night. Overall I'd stay here again and would recommend others to do the same. Just one tip: Book your stay well in advance etc months. Rooms book really fast.
The hotel was good, bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We stayed at the Antelope Lodge and the water was like Katie Perry… hot and cold. Could have just been the number of guests using hot water at the time. The restaurant attached to the hotel was our sour point of the stay. They offer a buffet all day for roughly $23 dollars per person. The service was terrible and the food was just okay. Lots of food items were empty. We would advise skipping the restaurant and finding something better.
Every time I visit Bryce Canyon N. P. And the surrounding area I always stay at Ruby's Inn — Best Western. They have a great variety of rooms you can stay in. The dining facilities are great also. They have Family style western dining with the area’s finest steak, ribs, chicken, and seafood. The best is the seasonal buffet! When you book a room ask for a room that faces the woodsy part of the area. You'll get a great view and great Pine Tree fragrances.
. Asked for room away from stairwell, what did we get? Not only by stairwell, but by exit door and the pool. I can hear even when the people above us flush the toilet and when they use very loud shower. Glad only staying one night. Gee thanks. Check if kids are on vacations before you go.
Tourist trap. Wireless did not work Area 5 bar 3G phone service way over capacity because of no working wireless so No internet. So don't think ur kids will watch Netflix on 3G or wireless. But u can pay for a movie on ur tv. Shocker! So they kill wireless at night to sell pay per view. Horrible customer service. Avoid this place Over priced Old rooms that smell like smoke and cleaner Sh t job cleaning room Mold on shower ceiling Low bid plumber did not put conc base under showers in elk lodge addition. Creaking shower floor Weak spots in floor No insulation in walls. Gap shows around door. Horrible hard beds and old pillows not sure where some of the reviewers slept. It was not in our room 1-2 stars at best. Worse hotel on our entire trip 12$ Buffet — go somewhere else It is worse then normally Free hotel breakfast Cold and powdered eggs. Horrible Same food service provider as all best westerns This a best western negative not plus.
Lots of trinkets and gifts. Food was pretty good. We showed up at the end time of the buffet so it didn't look that fresh. Service was good, was able to learn about some of the history of the place.
Horrible customer service. Overpriced and rude. We got stranded because our car slid off the road, and hiked out to call for help, the only number we had, Ruby's inn. We gave them our location and asked them to call us a tow. They put us on hold and the call dropped. We couldn't get service to make another call. We had to sleep in 29 degree weather in our truck. The next day I hiked out to a spot to get cell service again, made a call to them and they transferred me to a gas station that didn't do tows. Third call I finally got the number to a tow company, and got their voicemail. Fourth call I finally got a hold of someone at the tow company and they came out and got us. Ruby's not only wouldn't give us a free night so we could sleep before hitting the road, they charged us an extra night because we checked out late. Their manager Irene actually said the words "It isn't the hotel's problem, it's not our responsibility to call you a tow. " Worst experience I have ever had at a hotel.
Delicious and inexpensive, near Bryce Canyon National Park staff.
This is pretty much the only place to eat at in Bryce Canyon… Especially in the off season! After a day of visiting Bryce Canyon National Park, we stopped in for dinner. We had hear that their food was spectacular. Well, it wasn't! We ate it because we were hungry! My girls and I ordered chicken sandwiches… they were really dry! They came with some under cooked fries. My husband ordered a burger. He said that it lacked flavor and was over cooked. The service was super slow too. The waitress was more interested in visiting what seemed to be a local customer. Next time we visit the area, we will definitely pack our own food!
I liked Wi-Fi, y' was good. A little sleepy staff. The room was clean. OK bath room. At least there ' had hot water. Large comfortable bed with a cousin in leather. Euhh. SIS, have to be open. Y' was a small fridge black, comfortable for my one beer I found in the State.
The place is so-so. Definitely not upto standards of other BW plus I have stayed at. Rooms are ok, but dated. Carpets are quite old and bed was just decent. Closest stay to Bryce Canyon but there are definitely better options around. Make sure not to get a pool facing room. It stinks of chlorine.
Big rooms. Clean and cozy. Heater was on when we arrived which was quite nice as we visited in December with sub 10 degree weather. Only thing that I did not like was some of the hand towels had wierd stains on them. Overall, great place to stay.
I don't understand the bad reviews.
I could check-in already at 14:30, which was awesome. My room was super clean. The pool is perfect to swim a few laps and also the Jacuzzi has done very well :)
Only the air conditioning was very noisy :/
Power failure during a half day so cold shower and not heating
The shower that changes of temperature alone ranging from burning cold without touching
The restaurant with a menu poor in choice and quality, and no bar in the hotel (or elsewhere for that matter).
Icing on the cake, on Christmas Eve the restaurant closes at 7 p. M. Without notifying you or the day before, or the noon of December 24, even. No information on the part of staff and no information to the home Board. It is however the only restaurant in the tourist of Bryce Canyon and the only hotel. More rates are not interesting.
We stayed 3 days in family to visit Bryce Canyon and its surroundings and it's a mistake because of Bryce Canyon National Park be little widely visited on a half-day.
Advice to those who wish to visit soon, don't make that a passage on the day, it's just fine!
Except for the pathetic service at the hotel, the Park is beautiful.

-Power outage for half a day so no. And no.
Typical hotel which started with little, but is now a mastodon. And I mean, it has been expanded and a lot. To us we had to stay in a pavilion a 5 minute walk from reception. Without drawbacks. Is go visit Bryce Canyon, which is appreciated for not having to stick early mornings. To me personally, the hotel I liked. Very spacious room, very clean, a bathroom XL and Wifi in all rooms.
Well located at the entrance of the park but limited rooms clean, filthy restaurant, supermarket dear and depressing, unpleasant and impersonal reception staff. No dressing room for the pool. You have to cross 300 m of parking in a swimsuit by zero out. To avoid.
Christian Rach would say: More appearance than reality! The Lobby looks great, the room (Ponderosa) absolutely bottom drawer. Old and it was very dirty. The indoor pool is very small. We have us due to the bad reviews decided not to eat there. We were about 3 Km away at foster's, where we tasted. Conclusion: Never ever!
Bryce Canyon is one of the Natural Wonders of the World. The beauty is unbelievable! And there is no better place to stay then at Ruby's Inn. Typical accommodations pale in comparison to the charm of the Lodge. High timbered ceilings greet you as you enter the main lobby. The entire complex — because it is so much more than a hotel — is Western themed and inviting. If you visit Bryce Canyon, then there is only one place to stay — Ruby's Inn!
The only thing nice about Ruby's Inn was the pool. It was large and clean. However, the room smelled like urine and there was NO hot water to take a shower. The carpet was stained. The mattress was very poor quality and not comfortable. I was very disappointed considering that this hotel is a Best Western and that I found it in my AAA book. I would have had more amenities had I camped out. I paid a total of 150.00, and I couldn't even take a shower. Also, upon checking in, you wait in a very long line, and the employees are rude. I told her my name and she said "just ID and credit card, please". She didn't even look up from her computer screen.
Checked us in a bit early but to a room that was not yet cleaned and had a broken lock. Front desk said it's basically because we let them check us in an hour early (why check us in if the room is not ready — and not tell us? ). Standing outside while maintenance fixes the door and staff cleans room. Really interesting service. Cleaning staff and maintenance people were really nice, though! Room was cleaned well after they finished. Edit: room had no shower curtain. Seriously.
I spent two nights at this hotel. The room was comfortable and quiet, in a building away from the main building.
For me I did not eat in the restaurants of the hotel, is a small mini-market next door, and the room is equipped with a refrigerator and a microwave. It was much less expensive.
Also the large indoor pool was welcome because it was raining on Bryce Canyon during my visit, and besides it was deserted.
At first the room looked very nice and clean. However, our 1 year old's hands, knees, and feet were soon black from the dirty floor. We visited in the late summer months and our AC unit only worked periodically. They sent the maintenance man to work on it (he was late, but appeared to be the only person on duty and doing the best he possibly could) after he visited it still only worked periodically. We also had a very nice television… which wouldn't turn on. It was very nice to have a microwave and refrigerator in our room, however the refrigerator didn't get very cold. We stuck with our cooler.
This Hotel you can not recommend anyone. The cleanliness is the lowest level. The rooms are old and old. Only the close location to the Canyon is a plus.
We stayed one night on Sunday May 17th which was supposed to be an queen upgrade with jetted tub in a quiet room. First of all, the jetted tub didn't work. It was too late to get to change to another room. The check in front desk man, said all our rooms are quiet, although I asked for a quiet room due to sleep issues, (People stomping on the ceiling which is exactly what happened) All on all, I was expecting a up to standard room, without issues. We should get a partial refund if we paid for a jetted tub that didn't work.
It's a nice place. The rooms are out dated abs could use an updated. We showed up a few weeks before the season started so a lot of the shops were close. I recommend making your trip between May through August.
We stayed one night. Our room had supposedly been cleaned but not inspected. When we checked our beds for bedbugs we discovered we had dirty sheets with hair. We informed the desk and were told the beds would be changed. Three hours later after driving in the park we found the beds all made however the sheets were not changed. I told the manager to have them changed immediately or we would have a refund and we would go elsewhere. The manger was very nice and had the room totally cleaned and gave us a total discount on the room. We really enjoyed the lodge and the restaurant was very good.
Love this place! Wonderful country atmosphere, clean, good size rooms and fantastic staff. 10 out of 10 for Rubys Inn. Have travelled from Perth Western Australia to visit this part of the world for a week and was not disappointed.
This is the best, might be the only, hotel offering near Bryce Canyon. The rates can be high if you go here during the busy season. (supply and demand, its not hard to figure out) I found the pool area and rustic feel of the hotel to be quite nice. The service we received at Check in was great. I had a few questions about things during my stay and got quick and thorough answers. Noise from other hotel guests was a big distracting, but lets face it, the hotel cant do much about it if other people want to be rude to others. Overall, the decor of the hotel was nice and fit Bryce Canyon. The Wi-Fi was actually decent here, which I was quite surprised with. If I wasnt planning on going camping at Bryce, I would only stay here.
Staying here right now in mid March. The location is prefect. Front desk staff adequate. Restaurant was adequate as well. Not great but not bad. Room is okay but I have encountered several issues so far and will ask for a new room tomorrow morning (after midnight now). Room key rarely works. Maybe 1 out of 20 swipes. Toilet flushes very slow. There is literally not one drop of hot water to take a shower. Seriously, at 11:30 at night in the off-season I can't take a hot shower. I waited for at least 10 minutes and got nothing but ice cold water. My wife was able to take a shower an hour earlier with no complaint. I may update this one star tomorrow if resolution is satisfactory.
We absolutely love this hotel. This was our second time staying there. The decor is perfect. Beautiful furnishings. Very clean. This would be excellent place if the young ladies at the front desk acting they they at least liked their jobs. There were three of them standing there at check in and they looked at each other for a few moments like " Are you going to help her or are you going to make me? " Really ladies, be happy you have a job. They did their job but they werent happy cheerful or helpful about it. I would have walked away if I hadnt stayed there the year before I knew that I loved the rooms. Also when we got to the room I went to put lotion on, (my skin doesnt like the west) and the lotion and shampoo bottles were half empty. They hadnt been replaced from THE PREVIOUS PERSON. I notified the front desk of course but the rest of the room had been clean and very striking.
I wasn't able to try the indoor swimming pool. S. O. B! Otherwise, warm and welcoming.
We stayed one night in Ruby's Best Western on Thanksgiving 2014. The hotel is located just outside the entrance to Brice Canyon National Park, and there is even a shuttle into the park that stops outside the inn. Our room was clean and large, and the price ($75) was quite good value for the location. The lodge has several reasons, we ate at the buffet restaurant for Thanksgiving and they had a buffet with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, salad, sweet potatoes and dessert for $21.99. After exploring the park all day and doing some hiking the big meal was a welcome Thanksgiving feast. There is also a large gift shop on the property and a small grocery store where you can get picnic supplies.
The rooms are okay, but thinks, that it has the monopoly and the prices are so. Especially at breakfast, you realize that. Coffee, milk and toast cost extra. Here was the most expensive breakfast, which we saw on our trip to the West Coast.
Our family stayed in the main lodge over the Fourth of July weekend 2014. Location is awesome. But that is all. Ruby’s Inn is a fine example of a tourist trap. Everything is a scam and low quality. The sit down restaurant, fast food and grocery store on the premises are beyond a rip off. Pool was freezing and rooms were marginal. We will not return. We will either camp again or stay in Tropic (10 minutes east of Bryce).
We stayed here from June 18 through June 21, 2014. First of all, let me say that the staff (hotel, restaurant, and horseback riding staff) were fabulous. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect. It is the closest hotel facility to the Park which was 3 miles away. That being said, the new building that we were in (Columbine) was good but sorely needed a proper building inspection done before it was put into use. The plumbing for the bathtub was reversed so if you ran the hot water until it got hot, it would never get hot because the hot and cold water pipes were reversed. The hotel desk didn't even know this and told us that everyone was probably using the water and to wait 15 minutes. Of course, this would never have helped and I told the front desk about this. The bathroom sink never got hot water either but we never tested to see if the pipes were also reversed. The new one piece bathtubs were probably installed improperly because it felt like you were standing in a rowboat when you were taking a shower. My wife and I almost fell over two or three times while taking a shower. But I would go back because of the friendliness of all the staff and the hotel's location. I did not find the food pricey. They had a very nice breakfast and we did eat dinner there one night. The food was good for the price.
Stayed here with our family of 6 for four nights. Rooms were clean and a good size. Comfortable beds. Wi-fi was ok. Liked having the refrigerator and microwave in the room. Will stay here again if we come back to Bryce canyon. We like the fact that it so close to the national park. There are many buildings to this motel. If planning on staying during cold months and want to use the pool request to stay in main building where pool is located. It is also were restaurants and small store are located. In separate building is a laundry facility.
I know that a lot of other people seem to have had good experiences at this place, but given our experience, I thought it was important to post this. First of all, the front desk staff were very friendly, and I do not want to put any of the blame for our grievances on them. However, beyond that, it was a much-less-than-stellar stay for us. It started out with us checking into our room and walking in to find that the beds were still unmade and towels strewn across the bathroom floor. I can understand that there are mix-ups so we were not too disturbed by this. When we got our new room (which was made up), however we soon found that the bath drain was clogged, so taking a shower quickly turned into an unintended bath. We notified the front desk who promptly sent a maintenance staff-person to fix it. Again, the front desk staff was very friendly, but at this point, patience was waning. Next, when we tried to get ice at the ice machines, neither of the ice machines in our building were working and we had to walk across the parking lot in freezing temperatures to get some ice from the main lobby. Finally, there was only one restaurant open in the area, so we were limited to a fairly lengthy drive or eating at the hotel restaurant. We were tired from hiking zion that morning and driving to Bryce, so we chose to stay and eat at the hotel restaurant.
The hotel is located in the cricket anywhere, far from Bryce Canyon station. Unfortunately, there is no competition nearby. Rooms are older and extremely thin. Much sleep was not to think. Quality of the food it was ok. The restaurant however much too small. You must stand in line to eat anything at all to get.
Food is more like a canteen, but unfortunately, the selection is not as large.

RespondRooms OK, organized by all — remains a stale taste. Ruby's Inn is the monopoly right at the entrance of the Canyon, and you must also pay for it. Tourist industry packed very well. The better solution is one of the lodges along the HWY12, maybe 10 mi. Better room, better food, fair prices, and a good feeling.
