Good location.pool & hot tub. No beach access. They are still improving from Hurricane last year.I recommend the suites over anything. No laundry or ice onsite. Friendly staff we were unhappy with our room and the employee working searched for us a better room with no issues. Huge pier. #supportRockport

Dirty crack house. The motel is falling apart and obviously hasn't been taken care of in years. The furniture is a hodgepodge of someone's old throwaways. Beds are on broken frames and have dirty mattresses with no real comforters. Broken countertops in the bathrooms will draw blood. Mold everywhere. Pool is dirty. The "view" is a joke. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I’m only giving this place one star because there is no option for zero. This is the worst place I have had the unfortune of staying in and I do not recommend anyone to visit it; you have been warned. We stayed for only one night, but it was horrendous the whole time. Everything was broken down and rotted, and I was utterly disappointed. The view of the ocean was not worth having to stay there, and the piers might have been the only good part of the whole place. first off, the elevators were broken and looked like they probably weren’t going to be fixed anytime soon. The stairs to the second floor were rotted and broken down, you could see through the holes and cracks in the stairs. The doors and every part of the whole building looked nearly destroyed with peeling paint and rusted metal. But somehow, the room was even worse. It was cramped and looked like the furniture was thrown randomly around the room. The refrigerator’s interior was rusted, everything looked like it came from a junkyard. There wasn’t even Wi-Fi, and i’m sure it was promised to have some. The bathroom was disgusting, with a moldy shower that had broken doors and a run-down toilet with peeling paint and stains. Even the poor excuse of soap was horrible, and the people were too cheap to even get travel-sized bottles; they were just soap inside a plastic pouch. The shower water wasn’t that bad, but everything else in there was, we had to wear sandals the whole time we were in that room.

Stayed may 18 thru 20 2018. Housekeepers stealing out of rooms. Spoke with Ken the owner, he didn't seem to care. I guess he's not interested in keeping good customers. Roaches running all over room. Dirty

This place is definitely the worst stay we've ever experienced! Only thing decent was the fridge and pool. And the pool was always packed, because it's too small. Kept waking up all night because tenants above were very loud, throwing things or wrestling. Lousy, stinky, rotting bathroom. Scared to walk barefoot. Will not, ever stay here again. Owners should be ticketed by the city. Give Rockport a bad name!

Room was in disrepair but clean. Breakfast was a joke, a box of donuts and coffee. Hotel was on the water with good view. Housekeeping came knocking at 9:30, well before checkout.

Disgusting, dirty, everything falling a part, with mold everywhere, holes in the ceiling patch up in a worse possible way, toilet seat falling a part. Missing light bulbs, AC unit was leaking (we had to change the tub under twice a day) and this was better then the original room that we got when we check in, the only reason we stay was because there were no room anywhere else. For $228. 00 per night it was over priced and my wife and kids had to go to the park to use the bathroom and shower because they did not wanted to use the bathroom in the hotel room.

One star only cause there is no option for zero PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS (I did not) I usually don't pay to much attention to reviews since only pissed off people write things usually, I am now that pissed off person! My stay isn't until the end of this month and they have already charged my card (this issue was in the prev reviews) Called to get it taken care of and the MANAGER told me it isn't his problem I need to call the people I booked through (this also in previous reviews). Call them and got a little bit of the run around but then finally was connected to someone who was helpful (with the booking place, NOT the hotel) They are refunding me but still charging me one nights stay ($129) … when I registered the rooms said $89 a night? EVERYTHING is questionable. I cant not speak on the rooms since I will NOT be staying here but the pictures online should speak for them selves.

The cost of the stay is high when the hotel provides very little services. The rooms are run down. The lights in the room don't work. The refrigerators are rusted. The pier for fishing doesn't feel safe. Spend your money at a corporate hotel.

Do not go here ever. The fridge had mold in it, the bathroom shower where the water comes out to fill the tub was taped to the shower and didn't even go down. The worst of all, was the bed bugs. I have bites all up and down my arms and both legs, some on my face too. Do not take your children here unless you want them to be bitten and welps everywhere

I made a reservation a month in advance was told it'll be $149 a night. When I called the week before time just to check on everything was told it was going to be $185. Then I was giving a # for the manager who just asked the phone hello (so unprofessional) l) I wasn't sure if he was really the manager especially the way he talked to me. Told me they aren’t giving me the rate they originally told me. That I can cancel and go somewhere because he aint doing nothing for me. Also told me to go ahead & give them a bad review, so here I am. Thank god because I found out they have roaches and bedbugs GLAD I DID NOT STAY HERE!

Don't know where they got got the pictures on there website or if they are from when the place first oppend but this place was disgusting. Luckily the guy at the desk let us go look at the rooms before we decided to get it. It looked like it wasn't cleaned in a while, mold on the wall by the bed, the shower was brown with hair and who knows what else on the walls and floor, the toilet was even worse, the fridge had rust and mold on it and smelt something awful as well as the rest of the room. The kayaks and whatever else they offer don't even exist, the fishing peir felt like it was going to give out at any second. I'm not the type of person to leave reviews but I was extremely disappointed with this place

Bugs bugs bugs and more bugs. If you like bugs stay here if not there are a ton of other great places in rockport. Also the manager is an a$$ and will not give your money back so make sure you don't give them a dime and stay somewhere else. He is never at the front so they make you call him to talk to him about a refund and he will just hang up on you!

I will start my review by stating that I rarely write negative reviews; I am the kind of person who prefers taking the time to recognize a business for the positive, and will generally just stay away from business that provide negative experiences. This experience requires a negative review, as other customers need to be warned. I will not write about how my family and I felt during our stay, and will keep it to the facts. I do need to point out that on a previous trip to Rockport, we stayed at the Econo Lodge in Fulton, which we could have booked for less than a third of what we paid here during the same period, and our experience would have been tremendously better. We checked in on Sunday March 13 and checked out Thursday March 17 (Spring Break week) ; we had a “Waterview Suite” reserved, at the price of $194. 35 per night. We were given room 107: the view on the interior is of the elevator, the view of the exterior is of the house across the street. There was no waterview (we paid extra for the “waterview”). No problems at check in. The furniture was so bad, I doubt that Goodwill would accept it as a donation. The recliner did not recline, and had an unknown stain where the head cushion is. The drawers were falling apart on one of the dressers. The toilet kept leaking (something that any employee cleaning the room prior to our checking in could have heard and addressed). The tile floor was so dirty, that our feet became black within the hour from walking on it.

We have stayed at this hotel in the past, but this time has to be one of the worst experiences that I have had in a hotel. My family utilized this place for Thanksgiving this year and we had 3 rooms. All the rooms had numerous kinds of bugs in them, they were not clean, the non-smoking rooms smelled like smoking rooms, and they were generally unsanitary. Our 15-year-old took a shower with bugs, turned back the hairy sheets on his bed and declared, "This place is disgusting! " The towels were thin and worn out, several of them had black stains on them. Our room had an issue with the "kitchen" sink as it would not drain. Someone finally came and managed to unplug it, but the result was black gunk all over the wall as well as some on me. The light above the kitchen sink did not work and when the front desk (actually the owner) was told about it, he asked if I had wiggled it. Also, the room AC leaked water into the room and someone had placed a small bucket under it to catch the water. When it cycled on, it sounded like a jet engine lighting up and turned on and off in about 10 minute intervals, was very loud and kept us awake most of the night. When front desk was told about, he said no one was available to work on it this Thanksgiving weekend. The steps metal structure was rusting away, the whole place needs painted, and the elevator is marginal.

Place is old and run down. Had dead bugs in the bathroom and in cabinets. No hangers, not even on request. Shower was washed on my request but for a couple of years it probably didn't see any cleaning solution. Towels — the oldest I've ever seen. The blow dryer base fell out of the wall while in use. No clock of any kind. I will not recommend it to anyone.

Would give zero or negative stars if possible. The room had bedbugs! When we complained the next morning, they would only give us a partial refund and sent cleaning crew to change sheets and spray bed with something they claimed would kill any bugs. Second night, my wife got bit even worse. We took pictures of the bugs and even took a squashed one to show the desk clerk. We had booked a third night, but I told them we were leaving and wanted a full refund. The clerk argued and would still only give a partial refund. Fortunately, I filed a dispute through our credit card company and eventually got a refund for the balance because the manager never responded to the inquiry from American Express. I wrote a letter to the Rockport Chamber of Commerce. Got an apology from the Chamber — they said Hunt's Castle is not a member (no surprise).

Deserves no stars! Room was infested with cockroaches and Hotel does not do a refund! Was my Birthday weekend and left the room as soon as we came back from fishing only to find cockroaches everywhere. Left at 2am. Guy was sitting outside. Told him and he didn't apologize. Said he would let the manager know! DO NOT BOOK HERE.

Reserved 2 rooms for 3 days. Arrived to find friendly staff in the office. Checked the rooms due to us having my disabled grandmother with the family. The trash cans outside our room smelled like rotten fish guts. The website said there would be 1 king, 1 queen and 1 sofa bed in the handicapped room. I found 2 queens in that room. There were 2 kings in the second room. While discussing with my family, the girl from the front desk came out. I explained my concerns about my grandmother. We contacted the owner of the hotel and he said he upgraded our room for us however, it would still not work for us. The facilities were a bit outdated with old furniture. Not to mention, the number sign fell off of the door when we closed it. When I spoke to the owner he said "fine, go somewhere else then". If you are going to be on a fishing trip and not stay in your room much then I suppose this would be fine. We wanted to spend some time inside because there was a lot of family present. I was not impressed with this place, at all. I am trying to provide objective findings based on my experience. I hope this helps any future travelers.

Don't ever, ever stay there. I fish Rockport twice a month and dock at Goose Island because I have an annual Texas State Parks Pass (highly recommended). The locals are awesome and the restaurants are to die for (Captain Benny's, Plummer's, Moondogs, Faye's, Aranda's and for the best Italian anywhere, Bellino's). I had to stay there for a last minute Memorial Day weekend fishing trip with the kids and checked in at close to midnight. My kids were afraid to sleep in a different room in a strange place so I decided to move their mattress to the master/living/kitchen and place it next to our bed on the light maroon tile. To make a long story short, I found human feces on the box spring. Yes poop! Kids slept with parents and notified management early the next morning. The didn't believe me and sent housekeeping to confirm while I waited in the small lobby for 2 hours. Once they found it the very arrogant Indian man that was working basically told us that we stayed in the room anyway so it was our fault. So "get lost". I took photos of the room and poop if anyone would like to see them.
