Dirty, old, bad quality, bad service.

We were laid over in ElPaso and Hawthorn was rhe 4th hotel we went to. They had availability. The staff was so helpful and friendly. Thank you to the staff.

Terrible hotel! When I walked in the front door I wasn’t super impressed but I thought this is nice enough for my four night stay. When I got my key card, walked down the hallway, turned the corner, that’s when I was greeted with stink, filth, and nasty walls.
The elevator was a little bit on the scary side, concerned if it was going to take me all the way up one floor. It as well was dirty.
After getting to my room, it was just as nasty smelly, as the halls are. Crack across the ceiling, carpets look as if they’ve not have any attention in forever.
Don’t waste your money. There are far better places than this.

As I rolled over this morning around 4 and grabbed my phone, this is what I see out the corner of my eye. Thank God this wasn’t a planned trip and we didn’t have any bags that critters could have gotten into. But I DEFINITELY will NOT be staying here again.

The hotel is in a not so good part of town, the inside of the halls and the rooms had a weird smell to them and the beds were uncomfortable.

I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. When you first walk in the lobby is nice. Apparently that is where they spend all of their money because that is where the niceness stops. The rest of the hotel is run down. Doors and walls are scratched up and dirty. Room itself was horrible. Stunk like a cat had been living there unattended for a while. An entire bottle of Febreeze didn’t cut it at all. There was dust piled on the bathroom light fixture. The light in the kitchen had the cover broken. The counter had a large burn spot on it. The fridge barely worked. And there was a fairly large hole in the bathroom door. Upon seeing this I went back down to talk to the gentleman (night auditor) who checked my family in and I was given the general managers name and number and told to call him with my issues before I checked out. I was there for three days and NEVER got in touch with the manager. His voice mail stayed full so I left a message with front desk and still never received a call back. The guy who checked my family in never attempted to make us happy (no offer of different room, discount, etc). I have never stayed in such a run down hotel for the price I paid. I have traveled for 20+ years all over the country. This was absolutely ridiculous. Awful! Stay somewhere else (ANYWHERE else! )

Nice hotel right outside the airport. The room was clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the provided breakfast. The hot tub was closed while I was there but looked nice. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Nice hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff. Comfy beds, nice enough, but a bit dated. All in all, not bad, I would recommend if you are on a budget.

Great location just a few blocks from the airport. Suites are nice with a sofa bed. Clean and polite staff.

Super rude employees. I booked online about a week earlier. When I flew in, I couldn’t find an email confirmation anywhere so I was thinking maybe the reservation didn’t go thru. I walked in and ask the front door girl if I had reservations bc I couldn’t find the email and was afraid I didn’t fully book it on accident. She ask my name, said no, so I decided to drive closer to my destination. I noticed a charge on my credit card a few days later so I called to let them know the situation. They ask the description of who was working so I told them a small girl with dark hair. They told me several times there was no one working with that description as if I was lying! I told them back several times that I wasn’t lying or making this up, it was just a weird situation, and they even had on their end that I didn’t stay that night. So I ask for the manager because they only wanted to give me a partial refund, waited for awhile, then just hung up since he was taking forever to hop on the line. Anyway — I thought it was just really crappy how they handled it.

They let 40 plus people play loud music and drink at the pool till 12pm at night. When I complained about it they did nothing. Carpets were gross and my room was motel 6 quality but the bed was nice and they have breakfast so I guess passable.

Bring your own comfortable pillows! Carpets very dirty, no snack machines, free breakfast was jam packed 4 not so good food 7 a. M. I will never come 2 this chain ever again. Staff isn't friendly 2 boot.

Room was very small for a King suite. There was no security lock. The ice machine located on the second floor didn't work. And the hallways were very rough looking, scraped walls, missing paint on doors, carpet edges not secure. However the bed was comfortable.

Well where should I start. Check in was fine, but when I opened the door to room 305 it smelled like a sewer, carpet was nasty and stained, light switch plate coming off, bathroom sink stopped up when I was shaving, small half size pillows, separation from the tile wall to the tub, Windows were so dirty you couldnt see out, fridge didn't work, and what's the deal with a 32 in tv? We spent good money for this room. And since we were traveling we stayed in about 3 hotels. By far this was the worst. So just beware don't stay in room 305.

Not worth spending money not even for one night. Made me waste my time waiting to be given a room. They charged my credit card twice. The first time they charged my card was before my husband and I were given a room. The second time when We checked out. We went back to the hotel and the man we spoke to said he didnt know why my card was charged twice and told us to leave. I called 3 times days later and the lady refused to put a manager on the phone the first 2 times. The third time I called the manager said that she wasn’t going to do anything because my husband and I spent the night there. I would not recommend this place. They didnt give my money back even though they charged me twice. I will never return to this place or recommend it to anyone.

Horrible customer service. I called a day prior and the morning of if I could check in early and they said it was okay over the phone so I show up to the hotel and they made me wait 2 hours for my room when I specific told them the time I was going to be there to check in. Also they charged my card twice with the same charge of my room and they had no explanation for me. All they could tell me was to contact my bank. Not good customer experience at all. Definitely won't be coming back here.

Very clean room smelt very nice they were replacing mattresses while we were there which is a good sign pool is nice and warm excellent breakfast everybody was friendly even the ones that did not speak English price was reasonable hotel was very clean and presentable.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting and disappointing. Do not waste your money on this place. If you like to sleep in dirty, smoke smelling, cigarettes and trash in the hall ways and rooms then this place is for you. The pictures and price of the room were very deceiving. For $150 per night I would expect the place to be updated, clean, friendly and comfortable. I walked into our room to find it stinking like smoke, a smoked cigarette right outside the entry way of the door, the balcony door wide open in the room to air it out, a dirty tub with a dirty used sponge in the tub. No toilet paper or towels had been restocked, chip crumbs on the floor, a broken coffee table… and the list goes on. I called immediately and complained to the front desk who kindly “upgraded” us to a king suite, (or so we thought. ) We get to the suite, it wasn’t as bad as the first room however still filthy and the tub was disgusting. We finally get to sleep to wake up 30 minutes later to our fire alarm in our room beeping every few minutes like it had a dying battery. Called the front desk staff again who had no clue what to do about it besides tell us they’d fix it in the morning. How are we suppose to sleep with an ear piercing alarm going off every 2 minutes. I am absolutely disgusted and annoyed with this entire experience, I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone. Also I didn’t receive any kind of reimbursement or compensation for this awful experience.

Good location. Kinda dirty overall, looks old. You get what you pay for.

This place is convenient and the staff is nice… that's about it. They remodeled the lobby a while back and what they should have done is taken basic care if the aging rooms in dire need of tlc. They have an issue with quality control. I spent a week and didn't have in room coffee cups till the last day… I had coffee, no cups. I got shampoo restocked once, thankfully I had an extra in my shaving kit. I always hang my towel for reuse… they took it away every day but forgot to replace it so the final day I dried off with the little towel. They always made the bed though… for whatever that's worth. The room staff should have a basic checklist they follow… this trip was the worst from that regard. I'll stay again because it's simply convenient for my needs but I'm seriously considering someplace else.

Well… Our non-smoking room smelled like smoke and the ceiling in the bathroom fell in (literally) from a leak. But the staff was great. They were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast selection was excellent. And they compensated us fairly for the faults. Would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel. Nothing too fancy. Very clean and close to restaurants. Breakfast was more than I expected and very good.

Great breakfast. Convenient location. Beautiful views. We opted for the suite as we have a small family of three and the extra space was well worth the little bit of extra moolah.

The check in process was friendly and smooth. The room was clean but missing the comfy chair. Front desk gave us keys to change rooms but key didn’t work. Stayed in first room. Had only one wash cloth for the two of us. It would have been nice to have Kleenex in the room. The bed clunked when we laid down. When we mentioned these concerns on checking out, the young lady at the front desk was immediately defensive and unprofessional whereas the night clerk had been very apologetic.

Management and staff deserve a 5-star rating. Physical facility a 3-star yet is always clean. I have been staying here for a few years at least one or two weeks a month due to business. Beautiful people!

The rooms are small for so called "suites, " the pillows are lumpy and make for an awful night's sleep, and the shower head pressure is awful as well! The refrigerator in our room didnt get cold and housekeeping doesn't clean very well! When we checked in, there were candy wrappers under the desk and the bedding made me itch. For a higher end hotel, you would think comfort would be their focus. We probably won't be staying at a Hawthorn again, especially El Paso.

The attention of the staff is Excellent. Joshua : always attentive friendly. The lobby is spacious. Comfortable. Special mention deserves the service of a café. The bad : the room : toilet what moves. Curtain of the bathtub is too short, the water goes to the floor. And the mattresses and pillows : horrible… there was no day that we don't get out of sore and with a headache… (you can improve). We are going to return safe.

The rooms eatan very comfortable, however the bathroom not me I liked.

Wow! I have stayed at quite a few Hotels in the last few years and this Hotel exceeded greatly my Expectations! Very Clean Rooms, Attentive Staff, Happy Employees make this Hotel Exceptional! Offer government pricing for military members, located near airport has free shuttle service for airport and to shopping centers. 5 minute drive to ft. Bliss, lots of nearby restaurants. Cardio room was lacking, equipment was extremely worn, pieces broken, treadmills had issues, smaller one belt would start to stick slowing down without adjusting speed, larger one if started to run on would automatically reset. Stairclimber sounds like grinding metal, exercise bikes seats wouldn't lock correctly into place, had cracks, one machine was unable to read heart rates. Ran out of towels for about 3 days until re stocked and no cleaning wipes for equipment. No security safes in room either so no way to lock up valuable items. Walls thin but other guests were respectful and were not loud. Complimentary breakfast in the morning was extremely wonderful, best part of stay. Overall very average hotel but decent stay. Has outdoor pool and Jacuzzi but I never used.

It's a nice hotel and the room we stayed in was like a mini studio. It had a full sized fridge in it, which bugged me a bit because then you hear it running all night. It also had a countertop stove, an over the range microwave and a good amount of counter space. The bathroom was also a good size. I imagine someone can live here comfortably for a good long time, and the quality of the room was nicer than your average low budget hotel. It's just the fridge that made me not give it five stars.

Great location. Restaurants and stores close by. Friendly staff. Requested a pack and play for our daughter and they sent over up right away. Very well pleased over all.

Hotel is functional. Good free breakfast and below average Wi-Fi. Price is cheap so you get a room accordingly. Tough to beat this value though. Update: staying here for 10 years and I watched the lobby get renovated. The rooms are still old and outdated. No outlets anywhere near a bed (cmon it's 2017). Rooms the size of a closet. Sticky floors and dirty curtains. Tv signal was in and out last night. So much that I had to turn it off.

Pretty good price for the location. Rooms are a bit dated, especially the bathrooms. Service and breakfast is good.

One of my most blessed stay. Staff treated my Mom n I as Queens, the suite was great n clean n the bed was excellent for us. After doctor visits mom would come to the room n rest like a baby, thank you so very much.

Wow! The General Manager, Ms. Mollie O'Tolle-Nava, exhibited outstanding customer service to us. Our flight was delayed one day, & so Mollie listened to our 'situation' and then sprung into action. Our experience suddenly became less irksome, & super satisfying because of Mollie's hospitality. I recommend this hotel by far, the HAWTHORN Suites by Wyndham El Paso especially for all yous needing a super nice hotel on our USA border to visit Mexico or just to wander El Paso. We've been in quite a few hotels but this is the only hotel I've had the pleasure to meet with the General Manager in the lobby asking us without prompting, 'is there anything we can do to ensure your repeat business. ' Because of Mollie's sweetness we'll make sure to stay again at HAWTHORN Suites by Wyndham.

Does not have kitchens in all rooms. The more expensive room with the kitchen was below my expectations. Small, dimly lit and very stale smelling. Old dishwashing sponge and used soap was what I was welcomed to. No paper towel, leaky sink, and one roll of toilet paper. Seems like the only part that was newly remodeled was the lobby. I would not recommend.

You can usually get a good deal here ($60-$70) on Expedia Unpublished Rates. Room quality varies widely: some have been really nice with a little extra space and a sofa, and the same price and reservation had got me a really small and uncomfortable one.

Rooms were nice location was great for our events food was OK some employees were not as friendly but able to overlook.

We had a king bed room for 4 days. Very small room. There was a big desk that you had to squeeze in between the desk and the wall go get to the bed. Every employee we spoke to was really nice. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

If you like paying $100 for $29 motel room, this place is for you. I've been in jail cells cleaner and nicer than these rooms. The TV was crooked barely worked, the room stunk, oh and bring some muck boots to walk around on the carpet… I would recommend this place for demolition as it probably is unfit to be inhabited. Do yourself a favor and don't even acknowledge this place exists. It does have "free" breakfast so one star. Oh and apparently they increased the prices for all the Soldiers in town for an event… go America.

So far enjoying my stay. Had no problem booking a room for the same night. Only complaints are that the key cards don't work very well, takes a while for them to engage and as soon as you walk into the hallway of the floor I'm on it smells horribly of cigarette smoke even in the non smoking hallway. But our room was pretty scent free and very clean.

Very tiny room. Was told pool was working but it was full of algae and bird feathers. Otherwise not too bad, comfortable bed, no TV Guide just channel surfing.

They charged me on accident even though after I used my reward pionts. I wonder how many people they accidentally charge that dont check they're account so check your accounts if you use your pionts.

The morning staff and the evening staff were not professionally truthful when asked if a larger room is possible. The morning staff suggested that there will be no problem and I can leave my luggage in room for now and when I arrive late in the evening I will be moved in a larger room. The evening staff suggested that there were a lot of walk ins and unfortunately they could not assist with a larger room no matter what the morning staff left in notes. Twice in three night stay I was let down. The third night the same staff in charge recommended another $65 will get me a 1 bedroom. No need at this point for a one bedroom apt. Just a little larger room for suit cases and ironing some clothing for wife and I… never will stay at this Hawthorne. Sticky rug at that…

The location is very good as it is close to the airport. The beds seem a little on the older side. Ok channel lineup. Internet speed at about 6pm on a Tuesday was an 2Mbps up and 2Mbps down.

The only thing good about this place was the breakfast! The room was not fully cleaned, but when we went to get a different room they were all unavailable so we had to stick it out. You can tell it needs remodeling bad! Things were falling apart left and right. You would think for the price per night that they would fix it up especially since it's a good locations. Side note they also need to update these pics because they are definitely outdated!

The hotel is nice, located near the El Paso airport. 4 out of 5 stars, staff are friendly and professional, service was great, breakfast is included and was very good, rooms were clean and quiet. 1 star off because the hotel needs remodeled, the elevators are slow, lights burnt out indicating which floor you are on, also carpet and bath fixtures in room are a bit tired and worn. But those are all minor issues. I would definitely stay here again in a heart beat!

The rooms felt a bit rundown. The AC didn't work very well either.

Place is flipping terrible! They told us check in at 3pm showed up at 4 and told us our room is still not available yet! Waste of time.

The hotel is convenient to both the airport and Ft Bliss and is pretty well maintained. Wireless internet works well. The staff leave a bit to be desired. I did not feel welcome upon arrival and the house cleaning staff is very sub-par. The hair conditioner in my room when I arrived was half full and appeared to have been previously used and there is mildew between the shower tiles that could have been removed with a few minutes of effort an a little bleach. Also, although my used towels were collected each day, it required a phone call to the front desk to have clean towels brought to the room. When the towels were finally brought, the housecleaning staff member just walked into the room. No knock or anything. Luckily I was working on my laptop and not changing clothes, when suddenly my door is unlocked and in walks a lady with my towels. No apology was offered. Definitely not a very courteous, friendly or professional staff. The breakfast is very good and the hotel does offer a very nice happy hour snack on some evenings. On a very sporadic and un-posted schedule. Don't plan on an evening snack, just be pleasantly surprised if one is offered.

My Suite was just a room with a fridge. The bathroom had old rusted fixtures. Don't be fooled by the name. You get what you pay for.

Rooms were in need of updating, but worked well for the week I stayed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The complimentary internet and breakfast were both good.

This was the most nastiest hotel I have ever stayed and its a shame it has the Wyndham name associated with it. I reserved a room with 2 queens "suite" and I got a small room with a king bed and a twin. Horrible and dirty. I will never stay at this property again. The bathroom was clean but looked dirty, I didn't even shower, I just wanted to get out.

Stayed for approxitmately one week in February 2013. The breakfast was great, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, tortillas, fresh made waffles and other goodies. This place is huge and you might have to ask the front desk exactly how to get to your room, its like a maze and theres like no signs posted to help you get around inside. Gym a little small, only one of the treadmills was working but the weight machine was all functional. Flat screen TV in room. Now the rooms were quite small and the closet is in the restroom behind the door but ok overall, see pictures I posted below, I was standing by the front door while taking the bedroom pics which shows how small they are. Would stay there again.

Avoid at all costs. Hotel smells horrible and the staff is unprofessional. It is cheap, but it can cost you otherwise. My wallet and phone charger got stolen (probably by the housekeeping) and the hotel did not do anything about it. Also saw hookers sitting outside our room when we got back one night. You definitely do not want to stay here if you have a family. There is a Marriott right across the street if you want quality.
