My husband and I stayed here in the Jr Suite on our way to the Terlingua chili cook-off ~ great, beautiful hotel! Great bar and music, wonderful food and ALL the staff were very friendly and very accommodating! We will definitely stay again when in the Big Bend area ~

Great time in an exceptional city.

Overall restaurant experience was phenomenal! drinks were awesome, steak was moist, dessert was delicious, staff was personable… cannot say enough good things!

They did everything that I asked them to plus allot more to make our weekend very special. Thanks to everyone at the Holland Hotel!

This place is magical! Our experience could not have been better! We had a group of 21 for a desert wedding and we were so impressed with The Holland Hotel, Century Restaurant, and town of Alpine! Thank you for your kindness, wonderful food, and excellent service!

Comes with a plea to level the pool table and order some quality cues. I'd personally recommend Dufferin 20oz. Durable and won't break the bank.

I really like these older style hotels. The lobby is beautiful, and so is the bar area.

Love that it's across from the train station. You can walk to stores, pharmacy, restaurants, very convenient. Beautify decorated for Christmas.

Love their burgers and margaritas We make it a point to stop as many times that we can on our returns from Mexico. Excellent service. Alpine has always been a friendly place thanks. We’ll be back!

The hotel is beauty. I was excited to stay here for my 10 year anniversary with my husband. The female concierge was so rude and pretty much ruin my stay. I wish I had a better experience.

I had an amazing wedding there they helped make my day perfect. It truly was my dream wedding and I could not have had it without the help of the team at the Holland. From the food to the set up they to hair and makeup they took care of us from the beginning to end! Hands down best place to get married in Alpine.

This place is a GEM! Carlos, at the bar is great! You’ll love your check-in with Mack. The hotel is a beautiful, historic treasure. Great lobby, bar and patio. THE PLACE to stay in Alpine!

Very disappointing. This place had a big sentimental meaning for us. We have stayed here before and loved it. I requested their 2 bedroom suite with living area, same as before. Got half of the room requested. One of the two bedrooms was closed off. This could have been communicated when I made the reservation but wasn’t. The room was not cleaned. The towels were not replaced. We will definitely look for other accommodations next time we are out here.

Wonderful to experience a historic ambiance. Updated electronically but the features are all still very historic.

The Holland Hotel has rich western history. It has some of the original furniture and it's fascinating. The bartender was very nice and talkative. Great place to have drinks and dinner.

Quaint, historic, boutique hotel in far west Texas. Great food & service, friendly staff & beautiful lobby. Bar fosters a party atmosphere. Beware the train, choose your room accordingly. Ear plugs are provided.

Beautiful, but I did not stay there. Other family members did, they enjoyed it. Be aware it is right next to the railway station… choo choo!

I had a great seven night stay. Modern features mixed with historic class. Nice air system, ceiling fan and lighting. Very comfortable bed and friendly staff.

Great classic hotel, beautifully appointed. Super clean with great front desk staff. Bartender Joseph in the Century Bar is super friendly and crafts a perfect Old Fashioned. Be sure to check out and enjoy a drink in their wonderful courtyard.

Room was small and bathroom basic with the sink outside the bathroom just by the bed. They do not have designated rooms for pets so if like me you are allergic to animal fur then you spend the night scratching whilst on the bed. Also the train passing by at 3.30 am and 5.30am does not help. I did not enjoy the experience. I usually love staying in restored buildings but The Holland does not understand what restored hotels experience is all about. The Hotel smells bad and "old"and front office staff was "offended" when I asked if they had rooms which were pet free… I will never stay there again nor reccomend it.

The place was nice but the walls were thin and if you can't sleep through a train going by (literally) this might not be the place for you.

Nice historic place but $$$$, wonderful customer service, check out the bar and patio. Restaurant wonderful, food absolutely spoils you. Wild boar a must.

The Holland Hotel is very charming and old fashioned. The rooms, although not large are very comfortable. The hotel is kept rather clean, but since it is a smaller hotel and has a smallish staff, it might take a while to get something delivered to your room or get it made up.

We have stayed in 4 places this week and thankfully made reservations to end our vacation here. We booked the "Crow's Nest" or penthouse. Will definitely come back. Room is 5 Star. Food is 5 star. Staff is 5 star. Chef is 5 Star. Libations are 5 Star.

We had a birthday dinner at the Century Club which was good. A bit pricey, but not outrageous. Service was fine. The waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed but was able to handle a large table. Cost was roughly $50 per person with a drink or two. Nothing to speak of for ambiance but the old hotel is pretty cool to walk around and check out.

Very cool interior, looks like something out of the old west — the train does come right by the hotel, but there is nothing that can be done about that, the hotel is accommodating with ear plugs — free breakfast in the morning is a nice plus.

They help the local Animal Shelter to find forever homes, that is a very nice way to say they care about the town and traveler. Breakfast was fruits, yogurts, biscuits and bread, quiche and granola. The coffee was also good. Little close to the rail road tracks, but earplugs are provided. We only heard the train one time without them. Please indicate if this was helpful. Thank you.

Beutiful decor, center of town and great staff. However it missed a star because of the food preparation. I guess the cook wasn't feeling g too well which effected the meal.

Wife and I treated ourselves to an “end of our Big Bend trip” hotel stay. We stayed in Nina’s Room—the bunk beds were cute (and fun! ) and made the room appear airier than it otherwise would have been (props to whoever designed the room. ) The cubbies, individual lamps, and double wall plugs in each bunk were very much welcomed features after four nights in a tent. The hotel provides earplugs for the noise-sensitive. (Most people probably want them for the trains that go by eac…h night. I didn’t because I *love* the sound of trains, but I did need them to block out the noise of other guests coming/going from their rooms. Peccadilloes are weird like that, I guess. ) Continental breakfast featured an array of fresh fruits, pastries, quiche (! ), yogurt/granola, and coffee/tea. The hotel itself is within walking distance of, well—nearly all of Alpine, if you’re the reasonably fit sort. It’s only a 20-minute walk to the Museum of the Big Bend! Both coffee shops in Alpine are within a few blocks, as are a handful of good food trucks, restaurants, galleries, etc. We had a great time, all-in-all.

Its history and age makes it so original and incredibly nice. They have adoptable animals (Mainly cats and dogs) who come by every once in a while. Since they have a bar it gets pretty loud every once in a while, but the beds are so nice that they put you to sleep right away.

Beautiful old historic hotel. King bed room with such rich detail. Three stars for lack of roll-a-way bed for paid third person. Also the TV satellight was not working when ready to settle in. My husband spent 30 minutes fixing it. Ultimately received refund, and near midnight checked into a nearby Holiday Express down the road.

Quaint hotel, great service and decent amenities. Surprisingly large bar area downstairs with a courtyard. Would stay again.

This is a beautiful Hotel with a lot of history. My brother and I stayed there for two days. When was the last time you had a regular door key to your room? The hospitality was outstanding and breakfast was fabulous. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite parts of my W. Texas trip was the time we stayed in the Alpine area, especially our beautiful accommodations at the Holland Hotel. Great staff, hopefully someone will give the house dog a home.

Service at the hotel was great. We got a free room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise. The only negative was the toilet kept running, otherwise we had a great experience.

Decided to spend one night here on a whim during our week long tour on this area of Texas. The common areas are perfectly restored to their original magnificence, and are absolutely beautiful. The room was so comfortable and clean, and the toiletries in the bathroom were wonderful. I am taking them all home with me whether I use them all or not! Had a great time shooting the breeze with the friendly bartender. We will definitely stay here if we ever pass this way again!

We sure loved this place. It is a beautifully restored historical hotel. We stayed here on our trip to Big Bend. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and the room was very nice. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely courtyard to enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast in. Pet friendly and they have adoptable pets there from the local shelter.

We had planned a 3 night stay, but only stayed one night because of the trains coming through the train station right across the street — — the horns blared all night. On the positive side, the hotel's public areas are nicely restored. The rooms however need updating. We went to Marfa and had a lovely experience at another restored hotel.

We attended a wedding reception at the hotel. We had drinks at the bar, which included a housemade cinnamon-infused whiskey and a peach-jalapeno margarita. The menu offered a number of very creative dishes at prices that were very reasonable, and the food was excellent, fresh and beautifully prepared. The wait staff was very attentive. The wine list was extensive. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we have ever had.

Staff was well accommodating, and the rooms were clean. The giant jacuzzi bathtubs were heavenly after a long hike. My favorite part was the historic element of the hotel. Much of the classic charm and elegance has been well preserved. While we didn't see any signs of supernatural activities in our haunted room, it did make for an interesting stay hearing all of the stories.

Stayed one night here. Wish it were more. Booked a regular room but there was an issue and the staff were very helpful and upgraded me to a beautiful suite. Slept comfortably and barely heard the train. I was concerned that I might not be able to keep it super cold through the night but it actually cooled down to 66 all night! Also, I love having an actual key to open a door, and not a key card. I will be back… soon.

I went to The Holland Hotel to drop off a sofa. The workers there were really helpful and knew what I was bring once I told them that I had a sofa to deliver. I was only there for about 10 minutes. Thanks for the help.

I enjoy every visit here. Rooms are fantastic, making a stay an experience. The Holland is part of Alpine's fabric so a visit is a must. The restaurant and bar are fun places to meet locals and visitors from all over the globe.

Neat, restored, rustic hotel. Great restaurant downstairs. A little bit pricey for the rooms but overall a very good experience.

Great historic place to stay. The price is a little high by everything is very nice! The only thing that sucks is its right next to the train tacks. The train came through a lot so despite that noise it was great. They even leave you ear plugs in your room. It was very cleaning and the staff was friendly!

Great time here, staff very pro and helpful, love that this hotel is still open in Alpine, everything we needed within walking distance. Can't wait to return.

We spent two nights at the Holland Hotel. The lobby is gorgeous and our room was very attractive and comfortable. The bathroom floor was the cleanest I have ever seen in a hotel! We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was superb. I had the flat iron steak and it was delicious. The service was excellent. All the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and I look forward to a return visit and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel. The train noise didn't disturb us at all and we kinda liked the sound of the whistle and the rumbling of the train as it went by!

Everything was great except the trains blowing their whistles all night as they pass by. It's so bad the hotel provides ear plugs. Great restaurant though.

This place is awesome! An older building that has been restored to a nice boutique hotel. Got in late, so just ate at the hotel and the food was great with excellent service. This hotel is the perfect place for a last night on the road.

The individuals that run this hotel are inappropriate and unprofessional to say the least. Currently in Process of filing a civil suit as well as charges with the District Attorney.

We spent two nights at The Holland and we will return again. Everything was wonderful… clean rooms, helpful staff, good food, relaxing patio and very nice bar. Being a Trost building, you can't go wrong. You feel like you've stepped back in time, but with all the conveniences of today. Great old books made out of Time magazines from many years gone by, made reading in the big room a real treat. Kind of wish it had been winter, so that we could have enjoyed the big fireplace. We highly recommend this great hotel in a little town.

A refreshing getaway! I highly suggest requesting Room 209. It's a beautiful and classy room, has a huge hot tub and shower. The atmosphere is fun, the courtyard is quaint and it's all worth the drive. The staff has gone over and above to make my stay comfortable and meaningful.

We had a great stay in the Holland Hotel during our visit to West Texas. Comfortable, clean, relaxing, and affordable. The very tiny dragonfly cottage that we stayed in was not fancy, but we loved the cozy, little room. We also took a fabulous jeep tour of the Big Bend area with Charlie of Angell Expeditions. This is also definitely worth doing if you are in the area and want an introduction to the scenery. We had a great day touring around with Charlie! Loved it.

We had arrived to The Holland Hotel around midnight on a Saturday. Nobody was at the front desk, but there was a phone and instructions to call a number posted there. A man answered right away and said he would be there in five minutes to check us in. No problem, there is a real nice bar right off the lobby where we could wait. Within five minutes the manager showed up, friendly and energetic, made us feel so welcome, especially after we learned he was at home and came in to check us in! Everything was great! The room was nice, with, modern furnishings, it had so many old books in the room that my wife and I didn't even bother to turn on the television. Great food in the breakfast area, and lots more antique books to read. The architecture was beautiful and the art was interesting. Restaurant was great, and all of it was reasonably priced. If you are in Alpine do yourself a favor and stay at The Holland.

This is an Amazing Hotel, we painted inside and outside and it looks awesome now :).

We stayed in the tiny and lovely Butterfly Cottage and loved it. The staff was friendly and the hotel had a great historic vibe.

The rooms were wonderful! I slept better than I have in years. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was awesome too. We will definitely come back.
