The worst experience I’ve ever had in any hotel in my life. From a person who is 55 years old and he was traveled and stayed in multiple hotels do not stay here, the incompetence is over whelming. We had three nights prepaid and checked into our hotel they gave us keys to the room we moved all of our things and went to dinner, came back and they moved everything in pieces out of our room because they checked us into the wrong room. They said they called our cell phone, but neither of us had any call to our phones. The inexperience incompetence of these two individuals and the embarrassment of seeing all of our personal items spread across the back of the front office is something I have ever seen with anyone. Our booking agent got us 100% of our money refunded but the actions taken by this hotel is despicable.

My first time in Alpine, TX and loving it! The Holiday Inn Express, just made the trip more enjoyable. Great breakfast and even a reception at night with snacks, wine and beer… perfect!

They had better stem the coronavirus and does not accept changes in the reservation. Lousy service attitude.

Everything is/was great!

I recommend them because of their great customer service, hospitality, and a good view of Alpine TX.

Enjoyed every minute (two days, three nights) while there. Highly recommend it, plan on returning, we’ll definitely stay here again. Thank you to the staff and place in general.

Clean rooms nice friendly people.

Nice area. Friendly staff and always clean. Evening drinks and snack in lobby are great. Shower heads always suck. Best place in Alpine to stay for government employees.

Much nicer than I expected for a relatively small town on our way to some national parks. Very clean. Friendly staff. Kids love the pool and breakfast!

This Hotel is just beautiful. I stayed there for a couple of months while my house was being dealt with, and my suite on the 3rd floor had an amazing view. It was really hard to leave… The staff is so courteous and attentive. The breakfast and afternoon reception were thoughtful. Housekeeping was very competent, and the front desk staff was always so kind and helpful. I actually shed a tear when I checked out. I could live in that suite. 314…

Nice hotel, I enjoyed the gym but I wish they had yoga mats. Delicious breakfast, pool looks nice, and great customer service.

The rooms were comfortable and so were the beds. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tob. The breakfast was what I expected. An overall good experience.

I stayed here with my family a couple of weeks back and was surprised to find such a nice room in such a small town: spacious, clean, and the entire hotel smelled terrific. Customer service was top notch. I left a couple of jackets in the closet and remembered when I got home to San Antonio and unpacked. I left on a Monday and called the hotel that night, and they mailed by belongings and I received them on Thursday, even though I told them there was no rush. Wonderful people. We are planning on a return trip to the MacDonald Observatory and we will definitely stay at this hotel.

1 star — For the cleanliness 1 star — Free breakfast and Parking! 1 star — location. The best place to stay if you're visiting Mc Donald's Observatory or any other neae by places Minus 1 — Understaffed! Minus 1 — Expensive for a Holiday Inn Express! I would recommend this place just cause u can't find a better place around that area.

This place is loud. The walls are thin and the front desk phone is extra loud and can be heard down the hall. If you book through a travel web site you will stuck on the side facing the highway. Expensive. Shop the other options in Alpine.

This is a great hotel with very good service. The staff there was incredibly friendly — front desk, cleaning staff, and others were always saying hello and asking how our experience was, and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. The breakfast was very good (free) in quality for a hotel, and each day they also had a nice reception with snacks and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). I will say that I had a mix up with my booking and somehow booked a date which was a month before I actually intended to show up. As a result, on Spring Break, I showed up looking for the room I reserved, however of course if was hard for them to find it due to my booking error. They were very helpful and kind however, and ended up still honoring my reservation during a very busy time. I was very grateful for the way I was treated, and the hospitality shown to me and my family. They didn't have to help me, but they did and that type of experience really stuck out among the other establishments in that part of Texas. Thanks very much Holiday Inn Express for a great experience.

I checked in and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and fresh. The room was properly refreshed daily. The breakfast area and food was set up nicely. The bread products were rotated for freshness. Check out was an effortless process.

Coming from Houston, we decided to take Route 90 to get to Big Bend. Alpine is seriously the oNLY town within the region that has something like a Holiday Inn Express. We wanted a consistent place, that we knew what we were getting into and the Alpine HI delivered. Nice, newer hotel. Standard breakfast. Clean sheets. Good job.

Very nice atmosphere. I specially enjoy the managers welcome reception which consists of 2 hour free drinks and snacks. Very nice quite retreat.

The hotel room was clean, fairly quiet and can't complain about free breakfast. We stayed here for our vacation at Big Bend National Park. It's about a 2 hour drive from the hotel. I would stay here again.

Rooms were what you’d expect from a hotel chain. Comfortable beds in your standardized holiday inn express room. The reason for one star was the absolute worst customer service I have ever received at a hotel. Tanya, supposedly and shockingly the manager was beyond rude and disrespectful. She hung up on my husband and I on separate phone calls when we were discussing our mis charges. She stated “I don’t care where you stay because we are a franchise. ” A sad representation of this hotel chain. We will never stay here again.

Called late at night and was able to get the last double bed room. Clean room, well decorated, and very comfotable beds. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Also the pool and hot tub looked very appealing. Unfortuately we didn't have the time to spare.

Hotel is very clean. Staff was very friendly. They have guest laundry, a gym, and pool. The free breakfast was pretty nice with plenty of options. The room was spacious. Bathroom was a nice size. Good water pressure. Over all satisfied with my stay.

Had an excellent stay here. Checked in and was instantly upgraded to a King suite w/ 2 TVs. Room was big, with open sleeping area and separate small game room. Room was clean and bed was fresher than most hotels. This is a newer hotel and has a nice indoor pool/spa, exercise room and breakfast area. Only downside was for some reason water pressure was low.

Fantastic Inn, beautiful indoor pool next to gym. Place is modern and very well kept. Staff is very nice, provided sewing kit and toothbrushes. Well stocked snack bar, reception with free beer and wine. Very good breakfast.

Friendly staff but upsetting that the pool is cloudy and green. Only two towels at the pool. Very unclean pool.

I thought I had reservations. Don't trust the online reservation system. If you decide that YOU MUST stay at Holiday Inn Express-Alpine, be SURE to call the desk, and talk to someone in Alpine. Get their name. Oh and hope for the best. I had to find another hotel when the ONE room with a roll-in shower had been given to someone else. Good luck!

My room was right next to the stairs. Every time someone opened that door and let it slam shut, I heard it. Even at 1AM. Is there any way to have their doors shut quietly?

Beds were good, but the breakfast was lacking. Overall, the hotel was a decent experience. No overly negative issues.

Great stay so far. Free breakfast along with friendly staff. Also had a pancake maker.

I've stayed here before and had no problem booking a room with a disabled veteran rate but tonight, on a Sunday I was told that rate wasn't available. Rooms were available but not for a DAV discount, im a member of the rewards but not good enough for anything else, that's ok. Hampton and Quality were happy to oblige.

Nice hotel. Just 1 of each of the exercise equipment but they also have free weights which is nice. Also special covered parking for motorcycles.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Very comfortable and friendly. Breakfast buffet was huge and lots to choose from. Beds amazing and clean. Even has a happy hour for the 21 and up with beer, wine, crackers and cheese and some great pink lemonade. Although I don't agree with the $10 extra charge per adult over 1 in a single room. We paid for the room not the extra person (2 queen bed for my wife daughter and I. ) Will stay here again without a doubt though.

It was a clean quaint place to spend the night during a long driving trip. It would have been better if the pool was available and open to use.

Had a wreck while here and the staff was super helpful and gracious! They bent over backwards to do whatever they could to easy the strain. Great place… great staff!

I had a random act of kindness by the manager who shipped my charger for my lap top which I left June 30th. He made sure that the package which had come back to Holiday Inn for a " address error" per UPS got delivered and he paid for on his account. That is professional and great customer service. So a big "SHOUT OUT" and Thank you for that. This facility was clean and the bed was awesome. The pool and hot tub very clean as well. Pay it forward everyone.

Across st from Sul Ross; friendly staff; fresh, clean and beautifully contemporary; comfy bedding and mattress; great indoor swimming pool; tasty and free breakfast; and to top it all off… the manager had a special happy hour reception from 3 to 7pm. No other place in Alpine can even compare.

This is a great place to stay while in Alpine. This HIE is clean, modern and well cared for. The bed was one of the best out of any hotel where I've stayed. They have covered motorcycle parking as well. The front desk clerk was prompt, courteous and efficient. Overall, I have no complaints. For those of you wondering about the breakfast, yes, it was also as one would expect. Plenty of cereal, sausage (including turkey sausage), hot cinnamon rolls, etc. This HIE in Alpine is doing it right. Keep up the good work.
