Amazing! Had the absolute most relaxing time!

The moment we arrived and were greeted by the concierge, Bryan, we instantly became family. The detailed historic architecture and family history shine beautifully in this stunning historical mansion. The entire staff was wonderfully attentive while maintaining a sense of privacy to the guests. A very special thank you goes out to Bryan, Will, Alex, Drillion, and Anastasia who made our stay extra special.

The Wentworth is just about the only place in town that not only allows large dogs but also more than one large dog. The room that we had had access to the outside, enabling us to take the boys for a wee without having to travel through hallways and elevators. For my own peace of mind I have to put a diaper on them if we are in larger buildings because they may not be able to differentiate between outside vs large indoor space. I didn't need to do that here. Very reasonable dog upcharge. What a lovely stay! Next time we hope to stay more than one night.

Our stay at the Wentworth Mansion was absolutely amazing. The staff could not have been more accommodating or attentive. The Mansion is beautiful and our room exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend a stay in this one of a kind property.

I cannot rave enough about me and my husband’s experience at the Wentworth.
We had the inner circle wedding package and it was the best decision we could have ever made for our special day! Ginny, the Wentworth Sales Manager, organized most of the vendors for us including the photographer, florist, and wedding cake. She was always communicative throughout the process and made me feel so comfortable with all of the plannings. There was always advice and a welcoming feel when I would come up with a new wedding idea addition, or question. Now our stay… WOW! I spent three nights at the Wentworth and it was truly amazing. The complimentary breakfast was more than I ever needed food wise, but it was all so tempting. The staff was superb! Special thank you to Brian, who truly treated us like the “master and lady” of the house. He told us all about our suite and personally walked us through the the sun porch to show the photos of our actual suite in 1887. I could continue writing but I should leave a bit to the imagination.
You will never regret your stay at the Wentworth! It was truly the best experience I could have asked for for our wedding weekend.

Gorgeous interiors. Huge rooms and luxurious bathrooms. Beautiful public spaces and pretty, shaded gardens. Current chef is doing a phenomenal job, and the restaurant patio is lovely, if weather allows. Staff are wonderful and so accommodating. Room pricing includes lots of extras, including valet parking, breakfast, and a cocktail hour with upscale wine and appetizers (take it up to the cupola to enjoy the sunset and 360 degree view of Charleston).

Absolutely everything was perfect. The mansion is just magnificent. Each room is unique and beautiful. We cannot wait to visit again. We met several couples who were repeat visitors. The view from the cupola was spectacular.

Anyone wanting personable attention and full service for everything from making your reservations for you to booking your yacht, the mansion offers it all. They will make you satisfied with all of your needs and wishes!

We loved our stay! It was the perfect combination of private without feeling empty. We enjoyed the cocktail hour and breakfast was always lovely — I highly recommend the tomato pie. I'm an afternoon coffee drinker and the staff was happy to brew a pot despite the atypical time of day. Overall accommodating and friendly staff. We can't wait to return!

No bar and under construction. The staff is very friendly, but who doesn’t want a bar at the hotel when you’re on vacation and spending $500/night.

I was there with my SO for 2 nights and felt like I was royalty. It's so beautiful inside and out. And the service, food, restaurant were all phenomenal! I highly recommend this place if only for 1 night.

What an amazing place to stay. From the lovely garden suite with a sitting room, spacious bathroom with a shower for two and jetted tub, to the garden walk out, a widows walk up on the fourth floor to see the amazing views, to the wonderful breakfast at Circa 1886. Would highly recommend a stay.

We celebrated my birthday week here. I just wanted to say that Wentworth Mansion made our stay and celebration magical. Everything was perfect! This is our third stay here and it's the only place we will stay in Charleston. The concierge and staff go out of their way to see to your every need and desire. I can't recommend this inn enough!

Wow oh wow! I have been to many places in the world and I yet have to find a beauty like the Wentworth mansion! As soon as we arrived we we were taken care of in a rainy day with a nice umbrella and a very helpful gentlemen. The place is outstanding. We stayed at the great mansion room and we enjoyed everything on it. Then we enjoyed and very delicious dinner meals at Circa 1886, which is beside the mansion. Tasteful and wonderful service. This is a must! We will be back for sure!

Dinner and drinks at the restaurant were amazing! They had very interesting dishes and everyone loved each one.

We had an excellent experience at the Wentworth Mansion. The staff were incredibly friendly. The rooms were large and well appointed. So nice not to be nickel and dimed for every additional service. Included in our room was parking, items in the mini-bar, wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evening, pastries and coffee in the morning, breakfast in the restaurant ordered from the menu (not continental or buffet), and assorted self-serve spirits near the lobby. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.

Incredible place. The staff anticipates your every need, bordering on telepathy. The overall ambiance will recharge your mental batteries after a couple of days.

Could go back every year. The staff is the best and really make you feel special. I love that two weeks prior to our arrival Michael from concierge called to help us book our spa treatments and sent us a list of fun things to do.
When we arrived Tim helped us book our tickets out to Fort Sumter. And the Innkeeper Noreen took good care of us an our room. I would recommend to everyone to stay here!

My husband and I absolutely LOVED staying here for vacation. It's a pretty close walk to downtown, and only a 20-min drive to the beach! It is BEAUTIFUL with really cool decor and woodwork. The concierges and staff are extremely helpful and nice, and give great recommendation on restaurants, etc. The amenities are great, we really enjoyed the wine and appetizers in the evenings. Very clean, with comfy beds! Spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi tub for 2! It was fantastic and we would definitely stay there again! Also the breakfast was so delicious every day!

Lived in Charleston for the greater part of 20 years and never thought I would get to stay at this place. We finally got the chance after our wedding day and it could not have been a more perfect ending! We originally thought about going out on the town, but we literally spent our time enjoying the countless amenities — especially the rooftop views and complimentary breakfast! All of the support staff were kind and accommodating. BIG thanks to Elliott and Michael for putting up with our (almost-) midnight check in and still providing the best service and an EVEN BIGGER Thank you to whoever set up the room with all of the present from my family and new in-laws. Definitely worth every penny!

I absolutely love this place! As a professional wedding photographer in town, the Wentworth Mansion is one of the most picturesque places. Make sure you climb up to the cupola!

Amazing stay! I'm not one that usually stays in a place like this but this was a splurge for our vacation. We were amazed by the room (with jacuzzi tub! ) and the grandness of it, the extras: tea and lemonade in the afternoon, wine and hors d'oeuvres at 5, pastries in the sunroom in the am, and amazing complimentary cook to order breakfast, and the helpfulness of the staff. Don't forget to go up to the cupola during sunset. Wish we could have stayed all of our nights in Charleston there.

Wentworth Mansion… home away from home! Pampered, welcomed and let’s say a bit spoiled by everyone at the mansion. Michael was a doll! He made sure I had all my reservations for dining and tours set and always welcomed me with a gorgeous smile! Everyone was welcoming, the grounds are beautiful, the mansion is stunning, the meals and cocktails were superb and loved the other travelers I met in my stayEspecially my new friend from Chicago I met before retiring for the night at the “sherry/brandy/porto” salon… lovely ladie’s date before going to recharge in my fabulous garden room

We rented out the entire property for three days. It lived up to its reputation in every way. Pristine rooms, stellar amenities, and best of all the staff were on their game every single moment of our stay. I don't think I've ever had a better experience, certainly not at the luxury chain hotels. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Love, love, love this place! It is a bit expensive but it is so worth it! The rooms are amazing. They have free wine and hors d'oeuvres in the evening plus a free breakfast at the adjoining 1824 Restaurant in the morning for guests staying here. I Highly recommend staying at the Wentworth Mansion… you will not be disappointed.

Historic, well preserved building with lots of character. Good location, quiet street, easy parking, picturesque views.

Spacious, luxurious, well appointed rooms, beautiful antique woodwork and fireplaces, and a pleasant and helpful staff. Quiet and conveniently located to the rest of Charleston. The accompanying restaurant, 1886, is delicious. The perfect place to experience the grandeur of old Charleston.

We had such a wonderful time. The staff took care of all our needs, reservations for boat tour and a wonderful private tour from Linda. The restaurant, Circa 1886, was marvelous. Thank you all for our memorable 30th anniversary.

If you have a multi-stop destination, make this the last leg of your trip. The service is unmatched and the accommodations are beyond first class. If you start here and continue elsewhere, every other stay will be a disappointment. If you are in the hospitality or service industry, stay here and have your staff stay here. They wrote the book on excellent service. The accommodations include a full gourmet breakfast, a pass to the local gym, beverages in the afternoon, wine with hors-d'oeuvres, and conclude with a nightcap. The mansion is a historical masterpiece and the experience is life-changing. Best views of Charleston from the cupola!

This hotel provides not an accommodation, but a taste of the splendor, luxury, and hospitality of 19th century Charleston. I wanted to surprise my wife with a special wedding-night stay and "mini-moon" that reflected our taste and desire for quiet seclusion. This hotel had received glowing reviews, and honestly, the staff still exceeded every expectation. From the moment I checked in (which was hours after they let me drop off our things which were placed neatly in the room prior to our arrival) to the time we said goodbye, we felt on top of the world. The staff knew our names, knew our itinerary, and ensured every detail from the personalized turn-down service to our dinner reservation was as seamless as possible. We never had to leave the property — and why would we? The common spaces on the first floor are meticulously appointed with comfortable chairs, historical books, and museum-like placards with descriptions to provide context and historical significance. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (sit down, full menu) and afternoon appetizers/aperatifs, appreciating the cordiality among the fellow guests at the property. The on-site restaurant 1886 is truly top notch, and given the complexity and diversity of flavors offered, relatively affordable. Wearing our hotel robes, we strolled down to the spa as well to cap off an amazing two days that made our short celebration even more special.

Check this spot out! The staff went above and beyond for my wife's thirtieth birthday. Location is central but still very quiet. Easy parking. Rooms are magnificent. Breakfast pastries baked fresh every morning. Wine and appetizers every evening. After dinner cordials. Amazing! We'll be back.

Outstanding place to stay in Charleston. Great location, great attention to detail, and full of the "little things" that make your stay a little extra special. Highly recommend, especially if you're looking for a great weekend getaway experience. And having a Spa and restaurant on property is very convenient.

This is Charleston's largest and most beautiful mansion. An elegant 21-room, 24, 000 sq. Ft. Architectural treasure, it was built by Daniel G. Wayne in the Second Empire style for cotton magnate, Francis Silas Rodgers and his family of 13, in 1881. Now an internationally-famous hotel, the grounds include a carriage house converted into a AAA, Four Diamond restaurant, Circa 1886, and a 1, 000 ft. Spa, which was formerly the stable. Tourists are welcome to walk through the lower level, guests (about $550 per night) may go up in the cupola and see the view of Charleston.

My family was in town and decided we should give Circa 1886 a second try. It's located just behind Wentworth Mansion on the property. They had a great experience the first time and insisted we make a reservation. The space is nice and intimate with medium lighting. The menu was diverse and most of what it offered was very appealing — I usually know within a minute or two what to order, but I juggled with half of the menu until our server was ready to take our orders. I order the rabbit confit which came on a bed of vegetables and beans, a mixture that was unexpected and very satisfying. The main course was a steak — ordered medium and cooked perfectly — served with a mashed parsnip-potato blend (I can't remember the exact term, just imagine how a rich person would improve mashed potatoes) and cooked carrots. I loved it and so did my girlfriend. Lastly, we took our server's recommendation and had the apple souffle with ginger ice cream. It came with salted caramel you could pour to your preference (I used it all) as well as brown sugar to sprinkle on top. It was delicious, and a great way to end a great meal. Circa 1886 will definitely be on our short list when the family visits again.

I stayed here with my wife on our wedding night and came back again for our first anniversary and the second time was even better than the first. A great location in d'town Charleston but very quiet and phenomenal accommodations. If you are looking for a special place to celebrate or just wanting somewhere historic to stay in Charleston take a look at the Wentworth Mansion, you will not be disappointed.

This place is fantastic. Perfect location and excellent service. The two maid's quarters have private balconies which is a nice touch in the morning/evening.

The Wentworth Mansion has completely stolen my heart. My mom and I took a mother/daughter trip to Charleston and our trip would not have been as absolutely perfect if it were not for this gem of a hotel and their absolute amazing staff. Not only is the Mansion breathtakingly beautiful, but the staff went above and beyond to make our whole Charleston experience one that we will treasure forever and have us returning ASAP. I was so sad to leave, I booked a trip to stay at the Wentworth Mansion again next month with my husband. A few highlights of the hotel included the complimentary, amazingly delicious croissants, cinnamon rolls and sticky buns we would have with our coffee and paper first thing in the morning. We would then walk over to the restaurant for our complimentary gourmet breakfast where we were greeted with fresh fruit, more pastries, and some of the best breakfast foods I have ever had. Rice flour pancakes, anyone? Steel cut oats, frittatas, etc and if you are lucky, fried green tomato eggs benedict. Cocktail hour is from 5-6, where we enjoyed complimentary iced tea and lemonade or wine and hor d'oeuvres and socialized with other guests and staff or sat quietly by the fireplace reading books about Charleston we had picked up that day. The staff's recommendations on where to go, what to see, and where to eat where all spot on.

Absolutely stunning and quaint. Everything about this place is beautiful — I especially enjoy the classical music that is playing in the rooms when you arrive. The food is delicious and it is in walking distance from everything. The waiters and waitresses have always been overly pleasant and very helpful. However, I did have a pretty disaterous experience with a woman at the front desk. I was coming in on a 9 hour train from Washington DC and had arranged for a very early — 530am — check in in advance. Everything was confirmed weeks prior and in writing, but when me and a friend showed up exhausted, we waited until ELEVEN in the afternoon until we were allowed in our rooms. I think I was too exhausted to even care.
