Amazing! Checked in and was given a tour of the hotel by the front desk personnel. It was "Wine and Cheese" night (complimentary) but when we got to it there was 10 minutes left and no more wine glasses so they gave us a bottle of wine and told us there were glasses in the room. The room had bath robes, a refrigerator, freezer, on and on… can't say how happy we were with our stay. Pool was amazing, it was on the 5th floor, outside, overlooking downtown Charleston. Location is perfect too.

I hope I never experience a hotel stay like I did with my friends at The Restoration. All 3 of our rooms were broken into by an employee. A lot of cash stolen. Our credit card numbers and designer sunglasses stolen. She was even caught in the act. When we called the police the hotel turned them away, lying to the police stating that we were not present at the hotel and they did not check the rooms. The hotel refuses to refund the stay. The general manager lied to us, stating he was on vacation when the incident occurred when he was actually on premises and chose not to handle the situation properly. I have never felt so violated and insecure at any hotel like this, especially one at this price! We called the cops again and had the Sargent help us to a new hotel that was very accommodating and safe. Beware!

Delightful small hotel in great location. Just off King St, on Wentworth, borders the College of Charleston. Contemporary style, young, comfortable and not stiff. Rooftop bar and restaurant 7 floors up very nice 360 degree view. You can clearly see the Cooper River bridge, watch all the activity in the bay. Normally a nice breeze at the rooftop level. On the ground level, Concierge serves complimentary wine and cheese from 5-6pm and warm cookies served later in the evening. Valet parking is very helpful.

4 Star? Not so much… We arrived to a room with the view of… a brick wall. That sure wasn’t in the photos on the website. Our crinkly sounding bed had a bottom sheet placed directly on top of the plastic mattress cover, with no mattress pad! What decent hotel does not provide a mattress pad as a buffer between the sheet and the mattress? It would have been exactly like sleeping at camp. When we asked for a mattress pad, they brought us a blanket to use because they said that they don’t use mattress pads in this hotel! What? Even the Holiday Inn uses mattress pads, people. Oh, and let’s not forget that when they brought us the blanket, housekeeping did not help – we made the bed ourselves. And the management was not all that accommodating. The photos online look great of the building, but it’s deceiving. There is no real lobby. You check in off of the street and the layout of the hotel is very choppy. Not a big problem, but the bed and the staff’s lackadaisical attitude toward service was not up to par. Three star service. Two star bed.

This hotel was recommended to me by a friend who stayed here. It's definitely a cool spot. Very different vibe from most hotels. I also really enjoyed the after hours wine they leave for the guests in a first floor library. The classic car rental service is a great option if you really love cars.

Have been staying here for years and have loved it. The rooms are amazing and the location is fantastic. The management was top notch and so kind. The hotel sold and went through a renovation several years ago. Since the new management has taken over, customer service has gone in the toilet. The staff is arrogant and the cleaning service is non existent. Such a beautiful property! Such bad management! Such a shame!

I was really looking forward to staying at The Restoration. I visit Charleston often due to work and decided to try it out. The website looks amazing and I was hoping for a true luxury experience. That did not happen. Customer service is lacking on every end. Much of the furniture was quite dusty. I was excited about my breakfast "picnic" only to receive a basket with fruit in a plastic cup, jam and cream cheese, but no pastry; the orange juice was sour. The suites have an amazing amount of space, but for the price tag, it isn't worth it at all. Won't be experimenting any longer.

Hidden gem within walking distance of everything downtown Charleston. Beautiful hotel restored with every amenity that you could possibly need. Lovely breakfast basket delivered to our room, outdoor heated pool and fabulous rooftop restaurant and bar. Can't say enough about our stay. Outstanding service and would highly recommend!

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in: the rooms are big, comfortable and include amenities like a big kitchen, washer and dryer, and separate living room making them more akin to luxury apartments than hotel rooms. There's a free happy hour in the library between five and six that offers decent wine and crackers. The worst and most incomprehensible part of this hotel is the absurdly small breakfast served in a basket to your room; make sure to double or even triple your order.

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had! Could have had better luck staying at a motel! I stayed there last weekend in order to prepare for my wedding day. They had no hot water all day so I had to prepare by taking a sponge bath! Nothing like getting ready for your wedding and taking a nice ice cold shave, then invite your newly appointed wife back to the hotel after the nuptials, sweating and dancing all night long only to again not have any hot water to shower. She was appalled and I was SO embarrassed. Nice hotel but lacking the basics… like hot water.

Came here for some relaxation during my bachelorette trip. The actual spa experience was AMAZING. I had the diamond dust ritual and it was honestly worth every penny… I would definitely purchase it again. The relaxation room was nice, but a little small (can only comfortably accommodate 2 guests at a time and we had a party of 3), however the staff was very gracious and did everything they could to make us comfortable and relaxed. I would not recommend the nail bar. I got a manicure and pedicure, neither of which were very well done. However the spa itself is great.

So so so gorgeous! What an amazing meeting of old and new! You can just feel the history among the contemporary decor. The spa smells delicious throughout the many buildings that make up The Restoration. The guest rooms are very well appointed as well as the common areas. The valet parking garage is made to look like a stagecoach barn entrance and is completely hidden in plain sight in the facade of the building. Amazing building, amazing architect, amazing designers. Love, love, love!

Booked it for my husband birthday he was really exited to see the rof top bar but they were doing a deep cleaning and killed our plans. They should post in the website when are they doing the cleanings and time, we were there before 10 pm and the kids were just chilling around. Cool location and place.

Customer service was excellent. The roon was very well designed and clean. Restaurant and coffee shop were both wonderful experiences. My swordfish dinner was cooked perfectly. Not to mention the delightful breakfast basket delivered to the door every morning.

First time visitor to Charleston and couldn't have made a better choice. The staff was great from when we meet the staff getting out the taxi through 3 nights of stay… I will always stay at this location.

Beautiful room with exposed brick. We were upgraded to the balcony suite which had a private balcony, two bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen and fridge. It was quiet at night. Breakfast was served at the door and wine and cheese was available for free from 5 to 6. Lovely experience.

My wife and I went her to celebrate her birthhday. Best hotel we've ever stayed in. Rooms are old condos. Very large. Very cool lobby. Free bikes. Great food and coffee. Staff was extremely helpful. Highly recommend.

Nothing but fantastic things to say about this hotel. The staff stole the show. Nathan made sure our stay was as delightful as possible, on and off property. Nathan even went so far as to reach out the one restaurant that disappointed us. We soon had a call from the restaurant manager who offered us a second chance at their concern. The other staff were great as well. Awesome location, spectacular rooms and a conscientious attention detail. You certainly don't need to spend $400/night in Charleston to have a nice time but ROK is a great treat for a special occasion when you have want an extraordinary experience.

We were moved here after the suites at the Francis Marin had been overbooked and boy, did we luck out! What an upgrade! The space and staff are fantastic. Highly recommend staying here.

We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful loft hotel, right in the center of downtown Charleston. The room was spectacular; nice furnished, high ceilings, lovely woodwork, and a nice outside deck area. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Breakfast delivered daily to our room in a lovely picnic basket. Cheese and wine downstairs daily followed by cookies and milk at night. Location couldn't have been more perfect to walk to shopping, the Market, lots of restaurants. Just spectacular overall.
