Great location to historic downtown. Staff helpful. Room spacious for location. Plenty of parking. Bathroom could use a bit if maintenance. It's always in the fine details.

Very nice and clean rooms and the price is very reasonable. The staff is incredibly accommodating. We showed up way before our reservation time and they went above and beyond to help us get into a room earlier than standard check in. Staff is just super friendly and super helpful.

The staff was very professional. Had hot breakfast every morning. View of the river was nice. Rooms were clean and spacious with microwave, refrigerator, and 2 flat screen TVs. Close to Folly Beach and downtown. Restaurant California Dreaming within walking distance. Would recommend to anyone again.

Nice room. Ok pool. Very friendly staff. Rooms are up date. Complimentary breakfast was a great surprise. Bathroom door did not latch when closed — (lazy worksmanship — someone should have checked, noticed and fixed).

We love the city but not this hotel. There were huge stains on both mattresses and hair everywhere — on the bathroom walls and floor, on the mattresses, in the sink. We asked to be moved to a different room, and both of those mattresses were also urine and blood stained. We were told by the housekeepers that almost every room has mattress stains on it and that it has been a while since it has been renovated. She told us that it was going to be difficult to find a room with a clean mattress. Why not just buy waterproof mattress covers? It was disgusting. This was after two failed room keys in both rooms. Tried to call the next morning from my cell phone to contact my wife who was in the room and was told that they couldn’t. I asked why and they told me that they don’t have the capability. Never heard of such a thing! Later I found out that she didn’t know how to do this simple task! I am a Gold member and stay in Marriotts all over the country for business. This has got to be the worst one I have stayed in yet. This is not up to Marriotts standards, not even close.

The hotel was well managed and the staff was very pleasant to communicate with. There are things in the hotel that show the hotel's true age, like the carpets which were green and showed aged stains from high traffic, ceilings that most people refer to as "popcorn", door locks that you still have to insert the card into and phones that looked like they had been contemporary in the 80s. The Continental breakfast was great. There were scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, bagels, salsa and condiments as well as coffee, tea, milk, juices, yogurt and even Nutella!

Very clean. Super nice staff. Stayed for Mother's Day and had a late checkout awesome.

I work for a company that requires me to travel and stay at the Marriott branches. My experience has been well until today whenever I looked at my account and it had been drafted charges for the hotel room, who my company ALWAYS puts there card on file and pays for the hotel room I stay in. I have been to several Marriott branches and only once I have been required to receive an authorization for them to use the company card. Unfortunately they failed to do that and without my authorization and them failing to contacting me, charged my card anyways. So I called to speak with the manager first thing in the morning at 6:30. At that time the manager was not there. Once the manager arrived I spoke with Laquana Johnson and I explained everything to her and she proceeds to say that it was my fault that I didn’t provide the authorization (I first of all was unaware that I needed whenever I checked in and secondly no one ever mentioned that to me until three days later when I have already checked out. ) She proceeds to laugh and tell me that it will take 5-7 business days for me to receive my refund and they were just following their protocol. Not too sure what kind of protocol is ran when charging someone’s card without authorization. She never resolved this in my opinion to have such a managerial position. Never apologized once to me and proceeded to say that it was my fault. Needless to say I am furious and will be in contact with the BBB.

Reasonably priced for Charleston. Very friendly staff. Excellent hot breakfast with many healthy choices. Conveniently located to downtown and beaches. Will definitely come back!

Older hotel but very well maintained for the most part. Very nice staff. Excellent coffee in the lobby.

The room was spacious, and service was very friendly! Great breakfast options, too. However, the ironing board was broken, there was a stain on the bed skirt, and one of the towels had makeup stains. Overall I enjoyed my stay, but there were a few things that could be improved with a little more attention to detail.

This hotel is wonderful! The staff was amazing, and the location was great. They have a shuttle that brings you downtown and a free breakfast. Would highly recommend!

It is a nice hotel in a nice location. It has good amenities, such as the pool area, ping pong and corn hole. The rooms are getting a bit old though, but everything was in good condition. I would stay there again if I was in the area.

The staff is friendly and nice. It's clean. Room is a good size. Lovely view of the marsh or the river and marined boats at the yatch club. Excellent breakfast each day.

A bit of an odd configuration (the check-in desk is on the second floor and the entrance is around back, which confuses Uber drivers), but the rooms are nice and the breakfast is impressive!

As a loyal customer of the Marriott brand, I am very dissatisfied with the level of service my husband and I received. The room was extremely over priced with a lack of water views. There was limited packing. There's no late check-out. The lady at the front desk treated us differently than others that entered the hotel. Very distasteful! This will be the first and last time we stay here!

The breakfast & coffee were good but the room had mold in it. The Wi-Fi didn't work. There was no safe in our room. And it was WAY WAY overpriced at $250 for a Fri night and $300 for a Sat night.

A casual hotel with excellent Wi-Fi. Great for my trip. I know its not a big deal but they had a ping pong table but no paddle.

Sort of out of the way. Very quiet neighborhood situated right on the river and next to a marina. Rooms are spacious, staff is pleasant and helpful. There's a shuttle service to the downtown areas (at least on the weekend, not sure if it runs during the week). Only one or two restaurants in the immediate area without driving.

A great SpringHill Suites located near downtown Charleston South Carolina and its popular restaurants also close to its world-renowned medical facilities great views from all the rooms staff is super friendly definitely a consideration for your stay in Charleston South Carolina.

Great room, great staff and stay couldn't have been better while we were evacuated from Jekyll.

The staff was amazing and very accommodating. I would have given 5 stars, but the room had a stale musty odor. The carpet also had a lot of worn spots that should have been replaced.

This place really punched above its weight for a 3-star establishment. The rooms were nice, the staff was very helpful, and we just had a very pleasant stay overall. Their included breakfast was WAY above what we expected!

Good place to stay. It was fairly close to downtown Charleston. The restaurants there were great. I travel for food.

Although the place is rather tricky to get to, it is very nice. The breakfast is very good. Only con is the bathroom. It needs an exhaust fan to help with the humidity. Mildew is starting to show on the shower curtain. Other than that, it's a good place to stay.

An awesome place. Incredible staff. One of the best. Did everything they could to accomodate my every request even down changing my room due to the addition of a 3rd person. Would recommend this place to anyone. Kind of reminded me of the old Marriott days.

Clean and comfortable room with a nice view. Enjoyed the free breakfast. I didn't see it advertised when I booked the room but this hotel has a free shuttle taking you to and picking you up in downtown Charleston. Saved me from having to drive. I stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed my stay. Only one negative was I got there early but room wasn't ready yet. The room was ready by 4pm, which is what they stated. I can't really complain as they did nothing wrong but would've been nice if they had some sort of early check in. Still giving it 5 stars. Would stay here again.

Very clean, beds were comfortable and breakfast was a nice treat. The views of downtown and water were a nice bonus!

We visited charleston on Feb 20th and I was definitely not satisfied with the first room we were put it. It was the only available room at the time we checked in and the first thing I noticed after settling in was the crack in the door from the lock down. The crack was noticeable enough and wide enough for someone to peak in from the outside. With me having my family there I did not feel safe at all. We complained about the room and maintenance was called to our room to check the door. What upset me most was when maintenance checked the door and said "it's locked so you're secured". That wasnt the issue though. I did not want anyone "peeping tom" through our door. We ended up requesting for another room and settled with a another room but realize that the door in this room also had a crack on the top instead of the side. This was room 106. The glass cups in this room were also filthy. They were covered and wrapped neatly in a plastic wrap but as soon as we unraveled the plastic wrap and looked at the cups they were dirty and stained. This is a health hazard to your customers. For being regular customers of marriot hotels I'm very unhappy with our experience here. For the price we paid for our room I was not satisfied with the experience we had. I hope this hotel will continue to check and seal all doors for their guests safety and provide safe use to their guests going forward.

The location was near downtown but still a five minute car ride and unwalkable due to needing to pass over a highway. The room was average, poor temperature control. Service was good.

Very pleasant stay. Really close to downtown with a river view. The hotel is very clean and the rooms are big. Had a very nice free breakfast with lots of options. We had a great time staying here.

Staying on New Years Eve included an early complementary champagne toast. Breakfast in the morning included the usual continental fare, but also hot items including sausage, grits, and eggs. Room was comfortable and spacious. Highly recommended!
