I have not stayed here but I highly recommend the ‘Living Room’ hotel bar at the least! Delicious food and a variety of talented jazz musicians throughout the week. I play classical guitar and fun finger style arrangements of popular music for their Sunday brunch on occasion. The bar has a great balance of class and comfort.

Had a blast with friendly staff for New Years Eve!

At first things seemed out of sync. We were moving around in the lobby with our mask on then put outside. It was a beautiful night so it was great. As soon as we got settled we were told our table was ready on the rooftop. That all went well then our waiter was super busy. He didn’t pour water for the ladies at our table, brought the wrong pie and seemed a little overwhelmed. Our group discussed how Covid had the staffs on edge and with all due respect the place was super busy. The food we had was decent and at the end a staff member brought out a light for the all important selfies which was kinda genius. Overall my experience was Ok. In these times we should all be softer in our reviews as we have no idea what staff members are dealing with. Four out of five stars here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall the hotel is amazing. Great mid century modern design mixed in with old school 5 star service. Expect valet parking at $35 a night but hey, if you’re expecting 5 star, expect to pay for that. No other hidden costs. Looking forward to my massage tomorrow.

The Dewberry is not a hotel it's an experience. From their signature scent when you enter the building to the mid century modern decor and rooftop bar, it can't be beat. The staff is friendly and attentive, the food in Henrietta's is excellent and you can walk to King Street and the historic district. We will be back!

A very upscale Hotel with a roof top bar the only 360° views of the city. The staff were very helpful and atentative.

What a find! Lovely rooms, great views… wonderful concierge! Highest rooftop bar in Charleston — The Citrus Club — which the only downside was the very loud folks who had too much to drink. Definitely will stay again.

Overalll the rooms are well designed but the service is pretty bad — way over priced for room service and if you do order — takes then forever to pick up tray 36 hours in this case.

I'm a native Charlestonian and have stayed with The Dewberry multiple times in the three years they've been in operation. I always tell those visiting the City to stay with them, and at the very least to visit the Living Room. It seems to me the most well stocked, and to have the most knowledgeable bartenders of any hotel bar in the City. As far as dining, Henrietta's breakfast and brunch menus have saved me from any number of potentially catastrophic hangovers. The rooms are gorgeously appointed, and the amount of painstaking detail put into the decor continues to astound. For being such a new landmark, their mid-century decor, hospitality, and world-class amenities feel to me like a quintessential part of a city I'm proud to call home. Happy Birthday Dewberry, you're one swanky 3 year old.

Such a beautiful hotel. I didn't know what to expect after I cancelled my booking at the Francis Marion. I felt at home being there, such a great staff. Excellent customer service. Room was beautiful, my wife loved it, still talking it. Best Manhattan in the world. I will be back.

Amazing hotel, the best service and fantastic location. The lobby bar was full of people, they had live music and awesome cocktails. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, too. Highly recommend.

Best hotel I've stayed in. The rooms can be a bit small depending on what you get but the amenities and style make up for it by far. If anyone reading this chooses to stay here, please PM me the candles they use in their hotel lobby and near the elevators upstairs. My wife won't stop talking about them…

We chose The Dewberry for a 10th anniversary trip. It did not disappoint. The room was clean, staff helpful and even the room service was exemplary. Highly recommend for a place to stay in Charleston.

Great hotel! Very stylish. Great service. We loved our stay there, and enjoyed the complimentary house car (luxury Volvos) that will bring you to locations in downtown Charleston. My ONLY nitpick, and its very minor. The place has great, warm lighting through out. Feels super cozy. But you get into elevator, and its harsh, blue light. Very out of touch with the rest of the hotel. Change those lamps in the elevator! That was literally the only fault I could find in this hotel. Highly recommended.

Got married on the weekend of Hurricane Matthew. Couldn’t leave town for a honey moon. The Dewberry was kind enough to take us in when other hotels turned us down citing potential for mandatory evacuations. After learning our story they, unknowing to my wife and myself, upgrade us to the nicest room in the hotel for free. When we walked in we were BLOWN AWAY. The gieger shades open and we had a few of the Ravenel out of one window and a view of all the steeples on the southern peninsula out of the other. They kept the grill and living room open for the guests and the bell hops were running in the hurricane winds to get people’s cars. I wish I had written down the names of the staff and mailed them thank you letters. Over the top service! bravo John Dewberry. Build another hotel so we can go stay!

My husband and I just stayed @ the Dewberry this past two days and we both agree this was the nicest hotel experience ever! The staff were professional, helpful and friendly. As far as the hotel, attention to every detail is made. Our room was well-appointed and comfortable. We look forward to returning so we can enjoy the rooftop terrace in the future! My husband and I stayed recently. Everyone is so friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel like you are number one. Spa was amazing my husband and I did couples massage mine deep tissue his was customized and girls were on point. Restaurant was great had the cheese burger during brunch. Room was amazing we booked the flat. Tub was awesome and they paid attention to all the minor details that most hotels lack in vision. Customer service representative sent a bottle of wine to our room to make it that much more special. Over all great atmosphere and great location. Definitely worth the money.

The Dewberry has caused Charleston to step up its game! Well worth the stay. Drop the coin and enjoy! The Charleston flat is our favorite bathroom… double vanities, perfect lotion selection and white tile on white linen on white freestanding tub. Beautiful.

I stayed at The Dewberry for a couple of nights and experienced nothing but brilliant service. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. They really outdid themselves. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant, Henrietta’s, was also nice and accommodating to food allergies. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for 4 nights and I would definitely return again. The service was exceptional and the hotel made every attempt to ensure that we were comfortable and receiving every service we needed. They provided the house car and took us to dinner, they called a taxi for our ride to the airport. They also provided us with great recommendations for meals and tourist activities.

My wife and I didn't know what to expect as we don't normally stay in independent hotels but we were more than pleasantly surprised by what we found at the Dewberry. In fact, we were very much delighted. Everything was top notch to the way that you are greeted, to the excellent breakfasts prepared for us at Henrietta's every morning. The onsite spa was superb and proved a great way to relax. We also enjoyed the social buzz and activity that made the living room a great place to come back to after walking and seeing the sights that Charleston has to offer. We will be back!

I cannot say enough about how beautiful a place The Dewberry is. I am a professional wedding vendor in Charleston and had my first event there recently and it was incredibly beautiful. The staff was top notch and professional and it was truly a beautiful setting for both the ceremony and reception. If I could give The Dewberry 6 stars I would, as it's quickly become one of Charleston's most luxurious hotels. I cannot wait to go back and DJ another wedding there.

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the historic district. The beds were so comfortable and everything was super clean. It is in a great central location to everything we did during our stay. The hotel is so wonderful smelling and I loved everything about my stay — even the apple juice in the mini bar! This place is worth every penny and I will not be staying anywhere else next time I’m in Charleston.

Got an upgrade to the Charleston Flat. Beautiful room. Ask for the upgrade if available at check in. It has a gorgeous bathroom with a marble Bathtub; it's like having your own private spa. Everyone has been super friendly so far. Would stay here again.

This is a terrific little hotel in a great location in Charleston’s historic district. Gut-renovated 1964 federal building that’s been thoughtfully converted into a high-end hotel. There’s a lovely lobby lounge/bar with a 60s Madmen vibe. Free coffee and tea to start your day there along with newspapers. Free hotel bikes are a super way to explore the historic area, but they do need more comfortable seats (ouch! ). There were a few glitches making my reservation and then with my bill but all resolved satisfactorily. The hotel has a couple of nice Volvos available for guest drop offs but only downtown. Sure would be helpful to get a ride to the airport. The concierges were helpful and friendly. Nice bathroom and amenities. The roof deck is currently open only Thursday, Friday and Saturday which makes no sense to me. I wanted to go up and take a few pictures and that was not even possible. If you have such a great roof deck, and you even promote it on your website, why don’t you just make it available for guests who want to go have a look?

Beautiful hotel right near King Street. We were celebrating a birthday so the hotel left a bottle of wine in our room, free of charge. The restaurant, Henrietta's, is phenomenal.

Easy 4 stars for the Dewberry! Very comfortable beds, great towels, nicely stocked mini bar and everything is very clean. The location is close enough to walk everywhere. The rooftop has amazing views and all the staff is super friendly!

My wife and I went there for a night cap on a recommendation from a friend. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was romantic with a beautiful mid century feel, and the cheese plate was incredible. We sat at the bar. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and made some amazing hand crafted cocktails and will even customize your drink to your tastes. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Charleston. Will definitely recommend friends!

Beautiful historical hotel and the stay was awesome… but won't stay there again! I was on a 2 week vacation and this was the first leg of our journey (we stayed for 3 nights) so I packed quite a bit. After we left and were driving to the next stop (same day within a couple of hours) I realized I left a whole drawer full of clothing in our room. I called the hotel and they said they found my belongings and would send them to me (with me paying for shipping). I had them shipped to my home address. When I finally arrived home after our vacation I opened the box to find all but 3 pair of my favorite expensive jeans… they were missing. I called the hotel and spoke with a couple of different employees multiple times. No one could locate my jeans… ever. Seems they were someone else's favorite jeans as well. I understand it was my fault for leaving the clothing in the drawer but I will never stay there again for fear of my belongings being stolen or misplaced by their staff.

Staff was suberb. Very courteous and professional. Drinks were well prepared. Atmosphere was appealing. Would stay again.

Every Sunday am we go to The Dewberry for brunch. Matt our valet is literally the best valet experience we have ever had ever ever. I had to write this review just for him because although we love the food at The Dewberry (it doesn't get any better … omg the biscuits and jelly) but I just wanted to express how grateful I am for the professionalism and hospitality he provides every week for us.

The moderately priced rooms were extremely small. There was a Chandelier over the king bed. It was so close it gave me anxiety while trying to relax. From what I understand it was an old government building, which it still looks like from the outside. The interior and their employees were nice, as well as EXTREMELY helpful. I cannot stress how great the actual desk, concierge, and room service staff were. For example, I needed to print out a document for work, and the concierge allowed me to print it using their computer since they didn't have a travel center. Additionally, I was always greeted with a friendly smile from the staff. The views overlooking the city park were nice as well… If they rework some of their rooms to make them more spacious (ie, remove or just move Chandeliers away from the beds), I would have no problem bumping this to a 5-star review.

This is without a doubt one of the best hotels I've stayed at. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable. The room is spotless, the bars are great the restaurants are great also.

This was our first time in Charleston and we couldn't have stayed at a better place. From the time we got out of the car to the time we left, we were treated with utmost respect. The entire staff is well trained and eager to help you. The room was beautiful and in impeccable condition. The spa was also wonderful and included everything you would need for a relaxing day. We can't wait to return!

The service is excellent. The rooms, along with the rest of the hotel, are beautiful. Great bar and restaurant too. The location is perfect if you want to eat at the top Charleston restaurants. They are all walking distance.

The SPA at this hotel is BOMB. Amazing nail tech Stephanie makes the already therapeutic atmosphere even more relaxing. She has does great work while being fun and professional. Go to this SPA more than once and request her.

Being from the Charleston area, my wife and I decided to do a 3 night staycation. The hotel is modern but well done. The rooms are smaller. The staff was welcoming and very accommodating. The reason for the lower review is that some of my wife's jewelry went missing during our stay. Despite her being convinced it was missing I felt certain we would find it once we returned home. No such luck. If you take a chance on the Dewberry safeguard your valuables!

I recently stayed at the Dewberry and had an amazing time. All of the staff from the reception desk to the bartenders to the room service attendant were very pleasant and helpful. When I was leaving, one of the cleaning women even helped me with the elevator and waited for it to arrive because my hands were full. The rooms are exceptional and the bed was extremely comfortable. The style and design are excellent. This is one of the best hotels in Charleston and definitely my favorite.

Superb and luxurious hotel. Nicole and Derrick at the front desk were excellent. They checked us in early and gave us an amazing view room and complimentary valet. Also to celebrate our anniversary they gave us a kind gift. Vladimir, the manager came himself to help us switch rooms with a better view. Beautiful rooms and amazing customer service. We cannot boast enough about this place!

This is now our favorite hotel in Charleston. It's an old bank that's been converted, and whoever designed the place has incredible taste. This is high end. Every night they include a fresh bucket of ice in your room. You can hang your shoes in a bag on the door and get a free shoe shine by morning. The restaurant is great. We had one meal that was late, and the manager made it right. If you go to the main bar, make sure to get some of the Carmel corn. So damn good. Only complaint is we've had a couple issues with billing, which we had to call and straighten out. The pictures I'm adding are from their biggest room, but even their smaller rooms have the same high ceilings and are gorgeous.

The transformation of this building from the old federal building is simply remarkable! It's a beautiful hotel, with an excellent restaurant, and really nice banquet facility, perfectly situated within walking distance of all the best parts of downtown Charleston. I only gave it 4 stars because it's a bit pricey for my taste. But of course your budget may find it perfectly acceptable! Otherwise, no complaints at all. As a Charleston wedding and event photographer, I cover a lot of receptions, corporate events, and company Christmas parties at the Dewberry… and everyone from the bell hops to the banquet manager are always very friendly and helpful. With it's unique modern decor, it even makes a great location for engagement photos!
