Nice rooms right by the university. The neighborhood wasn't great but it suited our needs for a large group coming in to town for a wedding. We got group rates that were reasonable and breakfast was served every morning.

The two bedroom suite was spacious, comfortable, and extremely clean! Staff was helpful and courteous. Loads of options for breakfast and beautiful outdoor deck seating! Pool and jacuzzi were delightful. Weight room was basic but more than sufficient for a good workout. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough!

Beautiful spot for a professional meeting. The location is in the center of everything so it was very convenient. Plenty of space for a large group. Clean bathrooms and staff willing to cater to our temp requests more than once!

We enjoyed the quiet fire pit, right outside of the indoor pool where our kids played & had fun. Something for everyone; relaxing OR exciting — and a fantastic breakfast. Great place to stay in Rochester!

Pretty nice hotel, nice spacious room, right on the river, decent hot breakfast! However if you have allergies, the sheets are not hypoallergenic. They smell like chlorine. My eyes, throat and nose all puffed up after a couple hours under the sheets.

Great location, magnificent views, comfortable and stylish rooms. My husband and I sat out on the 7th floor terrace at night watching the bay bridge lights and listening to seagulls. The next day we had lunch with friends in the Americano restaurant. The upholstered couches outside are so inviting. Perfect proximity to the ferry building for breakfast and a walk.

Hotel is in a good location, central to just about everything. For the most part the hotel is very nice with a few exceptions. The pool was very, very cold. The hot tub wouldn't turn on because the timer was broke and the front desk had to turn it on. A simple sign would have made that easier. Plus it was very very very hot. Couldn't last 5 minutes because of the heat. I went to use the treadmill and while I was running on it it just stopped dead and I ran into the display board! Found out the fuse was tripped. Told the front desk and received a "oh sorry". Overworked and needs replacement! When we first checked into our room the heater was running continuous, which was odd. The master bedroom window was open half way and it was 30 degrees outside! On the plus side, the rooms are spacious and the kitchen is nice to have. View was very nice.

Fantastic hotel. Professional, friendly, helpful staff. Immaculate rooms. The breakfast is great. This is the only hotel I will stay in when I go to Rochester.

I reserved two, two bedroom suites for my family on a Saturday night. The Tony's were very spacious and nice. Very nice pool and hot tub. The breakfast was well stocked by a very nice server. The breakfast items were a nice change from a HI Express. The front desk crew were friendly and accommodating.

Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a full spread with waffles, eggs, omelette fixings, fresh fruit, bread/muffins/bagels, cereal, etc. There was plenty of space to sit, with a great view of the Genesee River. The friendly staff made the accommodations even better. Everyone that I talked to was very helpful and nice. The hotel offers a free shuttle to anywhere within 3 miles (including the airport! ). It runs until 10:30am (I can't remember when it starts), and then 5pm-9pm. The driver was also very nice and friendly. Overall, a great stay. I wish we were able to stay here longer!

I'm still here for another few days but everything has been pretty good! No issues with anything really other then the smell of the hotel room itself (personally don't like it but isn't a bad small or anything like that, just not my personal preference). Breakfast is nice every morning and the pool is cool too!

Great place for families to stay. Complimentary breakfast and complimentary dinner was a nice touch. We visited the university of Rochester for a campus tour and our room had a great view of the river and the Rhees library.

I stayed 11 nights, it was a great place. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The price was great! I stay in a lot of hotels and motels. I will definitely stay here again.

The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. I had a late check-in and they were more than accommodating. The one bedroom suite is incredibly comfortable. THIS is now my new hotel that I will stay at Every time I have to stay in Rochester. Again… very happy.

It's a great location, right on the river. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though they could use some new couches. They had to relocate me to a different room due to new carpeting but they totally made up for it by leaving a 6-pack of beer that I exchanged for a bottle of wine. They were very accommodating.

Overall the hotel is pretty good. The Wi-Fi could be quicker and easier to connect to (couldn't get my Android phone to connect at all; didn't have a problem with my computer), but I wasn't around enough for this to bother me too much. The staff was really helpful, and the free shuttle service around Rochester made life super easy. Never a bad thing having a happy hour with free beer every night too! The included breakfast is relatively simple, just a half-step up from a typical continental breakfast.

Stayed for work. No complaints. Really nice that they have a social event every night with some food and beer, nice pool, workout area, and free laundry (supplies not included).

I was there for a local conference for 2 consecutive days. I did not spend the night, rather commuted there. It is very clean. The location is great! The deck out back is right on the water. They had breakfast and lunch for our group, both were good. After spending some time there, I'd definitely stay there w my family. The staff was super nice and everything from tables and chairs to carpets and bathrooms were very clean.

Room and hotel was clean, bed was comfortable and it's convenient to the airport. Nice restaurants are within a short drive but I didn't find any walkable. The view to the river is nice. The front staff was nice and presentable. I would stay there again.

Room was clean. Bed and linens were comfortable. Easy access to local food/highways. Breakfast was simple but good. Kitchenette was good. Liked the access to walking trails. Didn't like the couch/chair, our suite was a bit on the small size. Bathroom was not very updated, there were some wear and tear with the walls, floor, etc. Could use some new fixtures. Elevator was slow. Pool was ok but kids were diving, doing belly flops, no one from the hotel came to monitor etc while we were there 45 min. Also the hot tub was broken :/

I attended an orientation for my new job at Strong Memorial Hospital. It was pleasant enough. The setting was clean and well lit. There was some AV trouble with the hotel equipment that delayed our start by about 20 min. Otherwise it was fine. The views of the river were beautiful from the back balcony.

West facing room near the elevator. Very nice over all. Room isn't bad (it was clean and practical, with kitchen appliances) but it's not high end like a nice Hilton or something either. (But not fair comparison given the price). Plenty of amenities. Breakfast stays open long and there is special gathering of guests with free snacks every Monday to Wednesday evenings. Back patio area near the commons/breakfast area is very nice with fire pit and river side walkway. TV has a bunch of free on demand available. Room near elevator can be a bit annoying because of the constant chime and noise from people using it. Also, no exhaust fan in the bathroom. There is a vent but no switch. And I'm not sure if there is a fan in there.

The location, parking, food and accommodations were excellent. The only downfall was that I was seated right below the AC vent, which made things rather uncomfortable at times.

On the Friday of my reservation (4/15/2016), the hotel hosted a Fraternity event and had students staying in the rooms next to mine. There were drunk students in the hallways banging on doors, shouting, and making whole lot of noise until 3 am. I called the front desk and even got out of bed, and went to there, several times to ask that they do something about it. They kept saying that they were trying to get the situation under control but did not. The fact of the matter is that there were many students, who were probably under 21, who were very drunk. This should not have been tolerated by the hotel. The young man at the desk assured me that the students would be charged for the “party policy, ” but that didn’t help me in any way. I don’t care what the hotel charges those students since I did not get what I paid for: a good night’s rest. I had to be up early the next day to attend a conference at the University of Rochester. My biggest mistake was not calling the police to report underaged drinking. What makes the situation worse is that I contacted one of the managers at the hotel, who first told me that I had no grounds to complain as she (incorrectly) claimed that I had not paid for my hotel (she mistook the fact that I had a reservation for the two previous nights, 4/12 and 4/13, paid for by the University of Rochester). I pointed out (last weekend) that I had, indeed, paid for it and she said that she would get back to me on Monday.

This was the third time we stayed here and the third time they got our room wrong. The first two times we had requested to stay in a two bedroom facing the river, we got a two bedroom facing the parking lot (not too big of a deal) but this time they gave us a one bedroom facing the river, so I had to sleep on the pullout, or so I thought, because when I called to get the pullout made they said their cleaning staff had left, this was at 3 in the afternoon. So I slept on the couch. I could not be more disappointed with the service. Other things to note: they were oversold (that's why we couldn't move rooms) and the hotel always smells unclean.

Friendly staff was great with the whole family. Very nice room. Clean, well appointed, plenty of room. Breakfast was a good buffet breakfast. Pool was a bit cool for small children but otherwise good.

Main desk was very helpful when I asked where a specific meeting was being held. They offered to lead me there.

I am part of a medical study on the recovery of vision due to strokes because I was involved in a car accident a few years ago that made me suffer strokes in the vision areas of my brain. There is a research team in the university whom my parents found at enlisted me in the program. Staybridge has been their recommended place to stay each time I return for therapy, and I am very pleased every time with their friendly staff, clean rooms, and great events.

The suite was beautiful clean and huge.

I provide textile services. Staff is pleasant most of the time, but a few occasions people have shown visible hate towards their job.

Be careful which suite you book. I accidentally booked the Studio Suite instead of the One Bedroom Suite. They were the same price. I realized this upon arrival, but they would not switch me to an alternate. The night clerk (8pm) was harried and overwhelmed. Note that the hotel allows pets. If you have pet allergies, you may want to find a different hotel. Otherwise, it was okay. The hotel is a short walk to U of R across a nice pedestrian bridge. The breakfast was good. There was hot cider in the evening at the arrival desk, which was a nice touch.

We were traveling with two little kids and had reserved a two bedroom suite. Because of this, we had called ahead and informed the hotel that we would be checking in shortly after 3 and that we would like our room ready to put our little kids to sleep. Upon arrival (at 3:30) not only was the room not cleaned but the staff was fairly apathetic about the fact that we had two tired children with no where to take them. Moreover, the crib we requested was not in the room when we finally were granted access. The next morning, Breakfast was an absolute mess. Most of the food was on low supply and there was not ample seating for all the guests that needed to eat breakfast. To be fair, our room was excellent and the accommodations were very comfortable. Virtually every other aspect of our stay was fairly problematic including the disposition of the staff. We will not be staying there again when we travel across upstate NY.

For a U. S. Hotel an amazing breakfast. Rooms ok, location great.

Right by the river, and very scenic with running trails that follow the river. The location is very quiet, only light traffic. It's a 5 minute drive to the airport. Our room was clean, I had to put the sheets on the sofa bed myself, and I found several stains on the sheets in the closet. They promptly replaced these, and apologized. The in-room coffee machine was not working quite correctly. The lid was broken and unless you position correctly, the coffee didn't drip into the carafe correct and you get a counter of coffee instead. They also don't replace the used coffee packet once you use it unless you request because they expect you to get coffee as part of the breakfast. Within walking distance of the hotel, you won't find many restaurants and amenities. You'll have to drive for better dining and shopping opportunities. For the price, I found this hotel a reasonable value since it's close to the airport and the quiet.

No complaints at all with this hotel. The staff was very friendly and the cleanliness of the Hotel was perfect. I would highly recommend, and will stay here again my next time in Rochester.

Great hotel for a great price. The rooms were clean and bathroom spotless. FREE Wi-Fi, parking and a breakfast to die for. The staff members were top notch. From the time we walked in to the time leaving. Awesome customer service. We even got a goodie bag! The only problem were the unsupervised kids in the pool area — just need to reinforce policies there. Kids were throwing towels into pool but again that's the parents fault. Will be looking for Staybridge Suites to stay in from now on.

I travel constantly for work, and stay in a different hotel 3-4 nights a week. Our company uses IHG/Priority Club hotels exclusively. I tend to take these reviews with a grain of salt, because every time I read one, it's someone complaining about something insignificant or petty, or some astronomical expectation was not met by a mid-level hotel. After staying at the Rochester, NY Staybridge Suites, however, I felt it would be an injustice to not write one myself. I am in the process of moving to Rochester and was in town to look at a house only minutes away in Brighton. I only stayed one night, and had a pet with me, however because of a Platinum level membership, I was upgraded no cost to a full one-bedroom suite, and pet fee waived — neither of which I asked for or was expecting. The room was phenomenal, very modern and very comfortable, pretty spacious for a hotel room, well decorated, and spotless. The hotel itself is GORGEOUS, situated along the river with the University on the opposite banks, the lobby veranda opens directly onto a walking path, making it very scenic and serene. I had no issues whatsoever with my internet, as others have mentioned. But what made my stay so memorable was the staff. Everyone who approached me was kind, courteous, but most of all, GENUINE. It's easy to pretend to care in customer service, and it's also very transparent.
