We choose this hotel over the rest in town when we stay in Rochester on business trips. The friendly staff and well kept facility are a welcoming place to rest after a long trip. The location is walking distance to may restaurants and night spots. Not to mention the friendly (if not hotel priced) restaurant right at the hotel.

The lobby for this hotel is beautiful. It is comfortable and updated. The elevator at this hotel is a little weird, it feels like you're coming up a back entrance instead of the primary elevator. The hallway that my room was in seems a little dark compared with other hotels. The bathroom countertop and shower walls were made of a dark pattern that made it impossible to tell if it was clean or not. And that the room was nice, clean, and comfortable.

My favorite hotel in NYS! Good location. Mall down the street. Food everywhere. Close to I-390. Rooms and hotel very clean! Employees kind, considerate, helpful and friendly. Huge pool. Plenty of parking. I can find no issues in years of staying there.

Very friendly staff… all of them! Just off the Thruway in an area with lots to offer both food and drinks/shopping. Super clean hotel that offers a good breakfast (free) plus has a lobby bar/happy hour every night for the guests, with free beer and wine plus finger foods. This hotel may be a little older but there has been a lot of T. L. C. To keep this hotel so nice, and it shows!

Booked two rooms since we had a certificate for one room. One room was okay as far as cleanliness but the other had bugs on the HVAC vent. Did not have any rooms with 2 doubles left so not much choice. They sprayed bug spray but my wife came home with two bug bites. Otherwise it was just ok.

Place was clean and tidy. The milk at the breakfast was expired but the rest was fine.

The room was clean, spacious and well stocked. Breakfast was diverse and decent tasting, very friendly wait staff. I would definitely stay again.

There most comfortable beds we have ever had at a Holiday Inn. Very clean. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, both days the breakfast was cold.

Site said two king beds… that room doesn't exist. Traveled from TN to NY 16hr drive straight… Came in @3am booked two nights… Had to drive around back to room and when got out in freezen cold… no room key in envelope… had to walk fully around building in cold because all doors have to have room key to access. Got back to desk to get room key and staff state" at 3am I have multiple things I'm doing so it happens" I book two nights and on get dinner access for one night have to go back to desk to fix. The inside Hall's/ setup is a maze… Have to go down one hall to connect to another hall to go up stairs to get to elevator. It's 3am and I've been on road for 16hrs all I want to do is sleep for the next 13hrs. Of all places… They put me in a room next to the hotel staff laundry! No sleep with all that noise nextdoor… ughie… For the cost and no regard to ensuring a customer's restful sleep. I gotta say I'm extremely disappointed in my experience. Then again a lack of 24+hrs of rest at this point could be making all the difference… 2nd night they moved our room but the beds we're still extremely uncomfortable. The heater keep kicking on when it shouldn't. Outlets by bed wouldn't charge. … There were however two amazing employees at front desk that made the fustrations bareable because if thier amazing personalities and services.

We stayed here for one night and were impressed by the new renovations and clean room feel and smell. Our son enjoyed the pool both in the evening and the next morning. The included breakfast was great. We wished it was open later than 9:30, but that was the only negative to our experience. I really appreciated the coffee in the lobby available even in the evening after we checked in.

Nice place to stay in. Facilities are great. Accesible to many placer of interest.

Great location for a weekend getaway to the children's museum in rochester. Pool is way over chlorinated and frreeezzzing.

Rooms and bathrooms clean. Nice breakfast and breakfast area. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge as well.

After a long travel with the family we decided to stay over in Rochester. Went to get a room and was told they dont accommodate family of five. We went next door to Hampton Inn. We never stayed at one before and the staff were awesome and very friendly. I will never stay at a Holiday inn ever.

The hotel was a good value, with several better than average amenities — pool, fitness room, free breakfast. I had to work on a presentation and my room was functional for that.

I only went to the bar to meet some friends staying at the hotel. It was clean and the staff were nice, but it seemed very sparse. The selection was not very large. Also, the closed up right at 10 leaving us a little bewildered as we would've stayed a little longer to continue to catch up.

The hotel is pretty great. They have a large meeting space and everything is super clean. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything we needed was provided.

Room was clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Reasonable rate which includes a buffet breakfast that's a bit better than the typical HI express breakfasts. Nice, big indoor pool but unfortunately, no whirlpool.

Pretty good hotel experience. Rooms where average but slightly dated. The BBQ restaurant nextdoor was the most interesting thing about my stay here. But sometimes it can be nice to have a boring hotel experience…

Location was very convenient. Hotel staff was enormously helpful, especially the front desk. Breakfast servers incredibly friendly. Rooms were large and unfailingly clean. Hallways looking a bit long in the tooth. Some furniture in the large relaxation room needs replacing or removing. There is a large kidney shaped desk which apparently was meant for a PC. It has no PC or chair and has several visible scratches.

Great location, friendly staff, and modern rooms. Not far from the airport, Thruway, or the downtown. The restaurant/bar inside the hotel is convenient, but if you want more options there are plenty of places to go to on Jefferson Road. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and nothing seems outdated.

My heart sank when I found out my husband picked a holiday in express because I have not found one single drinkable cup of coffee anywhere in the country at a holiday in express. They always have a disgusting nauseating taste. That being said I can't begin to tell you how horrible our room and experience Were at this one. Sadly my husband chose this particular hotel because it got great reviews and talked about newly refurbished rooms but I guess they missed room 105. Rather than the typical hotel bed of my dreams, this bed's springs were pushing through and I could feel them all over my body. Air-conditioner did not cool off the room overnight and the bathroom was disgusting – mildewy calk against the toilet and bathtub along with no exhaust fan in the bathroom caused me to skip my morning shower. Add to this the fact that a bunch of people arrived at 3 AM and we're talking loudly in the hall outside my room for almost an hour — No thank you Holiday Inn Express!

Holiday Inn is my favorite hotel chain. I stay there nearly exclusively, and I travel almost 100 days a year for work. Imagine my shock when I arrived at this Holiday Inn for check in and got to my room to find a hole in my bathroom wall had been "fixed" with drywall tape and paint. I went to get a drink from the vending machines and realized my door was broken and wouldn't lock. In fact, when I closed it, it wouldn't even stay shut unless I used the inner hasp. I tried to report that and received a response of "I'll let maintenance know when they come in". Meanwhile they were full, and my coworker that dropped me off wasn't answering the phone so I could go to another hotel. I wouldn't recommend this particular Holiday Inn to a homeless rat. When I contacted corporate they reached out to me and said that the manager of the property would email or call within 48 hours. That was 3 weeks ago and management has still not reached out to me, so I again reached out to corporate and let them know. Beware.

The service put this hotel over the top. Such great, friendly staff it was like a nice alternate reality. I appreciated that the pillows had some firmness to them. Everything was clean, comfortable, and enjoyable. I didn't get to try the pool. I recommend the Strong Museum in Rochester for familys or without. So fun!

Hotel was nice, clean. Based in an older building but remodelled. Bathroom in the suite was a nice size. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Not upscale, but a good value and I would easily stay again. We didn't use the pool, but it also seemed nice.

The breakfast made me really sick I've been throwing up all day and in the bathroom non stop! I missed out a dinner with my colleagues that was very important to my company and been in my room for the rest of the day can't eat and my stomach hurts so bad … what a bad experience I'm having just wish I can go home!

I had a horrible experience was told they can cancel my visit due to mis communication or information on there end… That was so rude didnt even get a manager for me to spwak to. Had kids running up and down the hall early AM I paid for the room and babysitter to go there and thats the treatment or stay I get really… Mind you I paid for tge Jacuzzi suit… I never stay in regular rooms dont like them I like to enjoy myself. And Didn't…

Rooms were nice and tidy, room service cleaned them nicely each day. Bathroom was well stocked. The pool is fairly basic but clean.

We will always stay at this hotel when in Rochester. It is clean and next door to one of the best bbq joints. The suites accommodate our family of five nicely.

Friendly service. Complimentary dinner buffet with bar drink, plus complimentary breakfast. Nice pool ND workout facility. Close to attractions and easy to find. Room was as expected, nice updated bath and room came with decent sized fridge and microwave. Would stay again.

Jacuzzi suite was a great size and smelled so fresh and clean upon arrival is also clean and we had a nice free breakfast.

Everyone was very friendly! They gave us an upgrade to a king suite at no additional cost and allowed us to check in early. Couldn't have been happier with the service and facilities. Will definitely stay here again if another event comes up!

Online the price said it was under 100. Called and asked for availability. Front desk told us there was plenty of rooms. On arrival we were told they only had suites left. Argued with us about it.

Stayed 2 nights on the weekend with my gf and kids. We got the King Suite which has the bedroom off the living room. Makes for more space with 4 people. Had a fridge/microwave/mini kitchen/table and chairs/couch etc. TV's in the living room and bedroom. Very nice bathroom with everything you need. Most comfortable bed and pillow's ever in a hotel. Slept like a dream Even took the pillow cases off to try and find out what kind they were so I could buy some for home lol. Hotel was great. Staff was great. Pool was great. Breakfast was the best I've seen at a hotel in my 34 years on earth. So many options, great food! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Love the location. Close to everything. I might be biased because I lived in Rochester for 10 years prior and was already super familiar with the area, but never the less. It was perfect! I'd recommend to anyone.

Front desk staff is always very helpful. Rooms are nice and clean. Preston the bartender is awesome. His customer service is professional and fun. He is 5 star quality.

This is the second time we've been here and every time we have a problem with the pool! The reason we booked it was because of the pool. The first time we went to the hotel the pool was closed for some reason then this time some kid through up in it 4 hrs ago and they said it'll be clean in an hr. Never was then all you hear is screaming in neighboring rooms. P. O. S. Hotel.

OK, I am shocked to see a bad review here. I am a business traveler and can stay anywhere I choose, there are more expensive "higher end" hotels around for sure, but the mix of clean, courteous, convenient and comfortable are just right at the HI Marketplace, I stay there every time I get a chance, have even brought my family there. Last week I conducted a team meeting there, my team was not sure about it, but ended up raving about this place in the end. You can walk to food shopping etc. Excellent hotel excellent staff. When they make a mistake they go overboard to fix it.

Took the family here for a overnight stay and was surprised to find the service and facilities are excellent for the price. I was also pleasantly surprised that they had a chef to cook breakfast for us. It was amazing and the kids loved it. Highly recommended this place.

I found this hotel to be very clean and friendly. We rented a suite with a jacuzzi and were very happy we did, as the pool was filled with a lot of small children during the February break. It was nice to be so close to so many stores so we could go quickly to grab a red box movie and snacks very close by and shop at the mall the next morning. The buffet dinner that was included was very good and the breakfast was fantastic! I would not hesitate to stay in this facility again.

The service at this hotel was absolutely TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. If I could give them a negative rating I would. The young lady and Scott at the desk are extremely rude. Customer service is the last thing on their minds. If you value good customer care DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL It is not the cleanest place and the service is POOR. After a very long weekend of running to Rochester from Ohio because of a family emergency I thought it'll be nice to go to a nice hotel for some family time and swimming. Before checking in I advised the young lady at the counter that there was 10 of us and only 4 will be sleeping in the room that night. We clarified that we were not having a party just family (we were advised that'll be okay) Now my family and I were in our room enjoying eachothers company and the jacuzzi (we were told it would fit 6 people, it actually only fit 3 at the most). Anyways completely out of no where a man busted in our room screaming and yelling. I was completely apalled, scared even. After analyzing the situation I realized the man was an employee of the hotel (Ron). He was screaming at my family and I stating we were being too loud and he was kicking us out without a refund. Mind you, none of us were in the hall, screaming, yelling or even laughing. We were in our room and had not recieved a warning call, a knock on the door or anything. We did not know were had disturbed anyone. I am still shocked that my family and I were treated this way.

After booking this hotel through priceline and then reading the reviews, I was convinced I would never book through priceline again because we are quite picky about our hotel rooms. When we walked into the room, we were actually pleasantly surprised from what the reviews have said. To address those, the curtains don't close, because they are not meant to be closed. There are a set of sheers, a set of blackout curtains and then the decorative ones. The decorative ones don't close. The pool — I'm not sure why someone wrote it was small unless they have put in a new pool recently, but it is one of the biggest pools we have seen at a hotel (and we have stayed in many hotels — you can do laps in the pool and it's not just two strokes like most hotels. It is probably 20 yards long — NOT a small pool. We saw no evidence of mold, anywhere, and it was really clean. There are plenty of plugs around, plenty of lights, a nice around 36 inch flat screen, dvd player (which we see in very few hotels), microwave and one of the larger college dorm fridges. As for the internet, I had full bars on the wireless during the entire stay and we were at the far end of the long hallway. Never had an issue. The exercise room — Nice and larger than most hotels we stay at! There are two new treadmills, both worked, an elliptical, a weight machine, and a bike. We could not hear anyone in the rooms beside us. As for check-in, we had no problems and were checked in quickly.
