The place is beautiful and well-kept, but the partying is simply obnoxious. Additionally, the continental breakfast's milk was coagulated. As nice of a setup, I can't stay here again with a sign that says "please keep noise to a mininum" right outside a booming party. I would prefer a setting where I am surrounded by covid-contientious persons. I am unable to upload a video but I have a recording of the party (which is going on as I write this).

I absolutely loved staying at the Beacon hotel last night! I treated myself to the jacuzzi tub and it made for a perfect relaxing evening! The continental breakfast was a really nice touch this morning. The place was super clean, really big TV in the room which was a wow factor. I would definitely stay again. Literally the only constructive feedback is If you’re picky on pillows however I def recommend bringing your own (although that’s common staying in hotel in general)

Beautiful historic hotel! We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The staff was so pleasant, Megan (I believe this was her name) walked us to our room and gave us a small tour of the hotel. She was very nice! The decor in our room was well done and tasteful. The room was on the smaller side, but the decor and cleanliness was above and beyond my expectations. We will stay again!

The Beacon Hotel in Oswego NY is so wonderful because of its excellent staff and management. They provide the amenities and services that make your stay special. Many reasons bring people to Oswego. It is places like this that make you want to stay. The attention to detail in every corner and the nostalgia on every wall extends from the spacious, clean and comfortable common lounge area to your unique and beautifully appointed room. Every amenity is here. Your bed is lik…e a slice of Heaven, and your bath towels are like fluffy clouds of happiness. :-) The continental breakfast is the best I've ever seen and the coffee is hot and delicious. The common lounge area is inviting and comfortable. Oswego Hospital is right across the street, your walk is less than a block to any entrance. The Beacon is such a comforting place to stay if you are visiting loved ones who are convalescing there or at the beautiful "Gardens by Morningstar" Assisted Living Home which less than 1 mile away. Very conveniently located and very comforting accommodations. SUNY Oswego is equally close, about 1 mile, and plenty of public transportation is available in Oswego if desired. The downtown area is a short 3 block walk and boasts fabulous restaurants, shops, a movie theater with recliner seats, and a fun night life along the river all within a few blocks area. Take a romantic stroll and discover this quaint and historic lake town where the Oswego River meets Lake Ontario.

The room was big, the bed was big (and very comfortable), and everything was perfectly clean. The Wi-Fi was solid. The price was only slightly higher than the major chains in the area, and I feel it was absolutely worth it. Would happily stay there again.

Wonderful place to stay. We didn't want to leave! The bed was so comfortable. The room was beautiful and perfectly clean. The people working there make it feel like you are visiting friends rather than staying in a hotel.

I have stayed at this boutique hotel (the best in Oswego/Syracuse) on several occasions over the past 6 years. The prices for the rooms are extremely reasonable and they are very clean. Each room has its own character which adds to the overall charm of the hotel and a decent breakfast is included in the price. The staff is very helpful and can give you great tips on where to dine and what to see.

My 86 year old Mom and I stayed at the Beacon last night. The staff was great, the room was beautiful and spotless. Even though we had dinner delivered, it appeared there were several restaurants nearby. I definitely recommend it.

Beacon hotel is a beautiful place that goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. The front desk clerk escorted us to our room and ensured that we had everything we needed before leaving. The rooms are gorgeous. Looking forward to another stay there.

Love this hotel. My daughter would say it's goochy which I means good. The owner is a fabulous lady and the room was exceptional. If my daughter chooses to come to school here, this is where I'll stay when I come to visit.

Had a lovely one night stay here, very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely rooms, everything was immaculately clean. The only thing I would have liked more was to stay a couple more nights. I would highly recommend the beacon hotel to anyone who needs a room in our little city of Oswego.

I was in the area for work and was pointed here by a co-worker. I was very happy with my stay. I was warmly welcomed, my room was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever been in, and the wealth of local knowledge kept me eating very well. I could not recommend the beacon enough. Sure it's short on some amenities like a gym or a pool, but honestly most people won't use then when they're available anyway. I was warned by the staff that they fill up quickly when there's activities in town, so plan in advance of you can.

Quiet and well kept. Very pleasant staff. Will stay there again.

This is a nice hotel in a historic hotel located conveniently between downtown and the SUNY campus. The room was nice and a basic continental breakfast is provided.

The hotel was fully booked when we arrived but the manager was exceptionally helpful, calling all local hotels for us before recommending All Seasons, their own motel just outside of town which was also excellent.

Julie (manager) was very friendly and helpful with advice for dinner and area sightseeing. Building was beautiful and room very nice. Fridge with complimentary bottled water was a nice touch, and rate was quite reasonable. Continental breakfast was adequate, but nothing special.

This is a really cute hotel in a historic building right on the main drag in Oswego. It is in great proximity to the downtown area and a short drive to the college campus. The rooms are small, but clean with private bathrooms and very high ceilings. They have free on site parking as well as free Wi-Fi and a complimentary continental breakfast (yogurt, muffins, oatmeal, fruit). Overall this was a great little place for the price. The only complaint my traveling companions and I had was that the beds were so uncomfortably stiff. They had no give to them whatsoever and this made for a rough nights sleep. In the downstairs lounge they have many very comfortable chairs, so that was a nice place to watch TV and relax, but the room was not conducive to this at all.

Stayed at the Beacon last week. Everything was absolutely superb. Love the room. Kyle the front desk man was incredibly welcoming and friendly. If you are in need of a place to stay in Oswego, take my word, this place is a gem.

My wife and I stayed last weekend. When I return to the area, there's no doubt I'll be staying here again. Super clean! We had a small, but very nice, room. Looked recently renovated. Mattress was really firm. Pretty convenient to walk to the small downtown area, yet far enough away from the strip malls and traffic. A gas station/convenience store is just a quick walk up the block if you need something. If it was a more luxurious pillow top mattress and if they had lounge operating in the evening with simple food and drink, they'd get 5 stars from me.

I did not book here! The woman who answered the phone was rude and snobbish so instead of booking I hung up and booked elsewhere. Its a shame because it looked lovely from the photos but I can't imagine giving my money to an establishment that employs such rude people.

The manager at the hotel Julie was very rude to my family and the bridal party we had there. My sister had paid $200.00 for their very best room at the hotel and we were rushed right out of there. The Hotel manager treated us like we were scum, and shut doors on us and locked them so we had to walk around the whole outside of the hotel and come back in. The manager also charged her an extra $50.00 for " trashing the room" when the room was cleaned by the photographer and also charged for " Dirt towels". The Manager also kept knocking on the door multiple times and kept reminding us to leave, I don't know about you but That is not good customer service! This is the most disappointing hotel I have ever been to. We will never recommend The Beacon and We will never return.

My wife and I stayed overnight at the Beacon on a recent trip to Oswego because I was searching for an alternative to the usual chain hotels which can often be hit-or-miss in terms of quality and service. The Beacon looked really nice and homey on the website, and it did not disappoint. A former Knights of Columbus building, the rooms have very high ceilings (like, 14 feet), are nicely appointed, and obviously newly renovated, while keeping their quaint feel. I have to agree with another reviewer — it was like staying at a friend's house. The staff was very welcoming and thoughtful (bringing up to our room a pair of wine glasses and corkscrew for a bottle of wine we bought), with suggestions of where to dine and what to do around Oswego. The room and bathroom were very neat and clean with plenty of towels, etc. The hotel has a very large lounge area which was nice, as well as dedicated off-street parking. It is literally within walking distance of some good restaurants down on W. 2nd street (the Red Sun is highly recommended). I would stay again. My only suggestion for improvement would be for the Beacon to consider installing area rugs over the beautiful hardwood floors in the rooms; a person in the next room — who we assumed was a woman — kept us awake in the evening by striding around her room with her shoes clacking loudly on the wood floors, making us wonder who let the horse out of the barn. We guessed she was preparing to go out for the evening, or whatever.

This place was gorgeous. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The location was awesome as you could walk down what looks like the town's main street and visit lots of different restaurants and shops. It had a spacious and well-kept parking lot. There was an array of breakfast treats available in the mornings. It was very, very clean and beautifully kept. The room we had was extremely small but it was just beautiful. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

The Beacon Hotel is by far the best HOTEL in Oswego! This hotel Smokes all the other Hotels/motels in a 50 mile radius. The beacon is extremely clean! That is what is most important to me. Excellent Service when needed. It truly doesn't even feel like your in a hotel, It feels as if I'm staying in a Friends house. If in Oswego I would check it out, I can assure you, you will not regret it! The prices are very fair for what you get! Not many rooms so you must book early, I have already booked for my sons graduation from Oswego University. I wouldn't stay any where else.
