The best thing about La Quinta, JC, was the bed was comfortable, and I liked the quilt. Other than that I was not impressed. The carpet was run down, and the bathtub was grungy (with mold). The pool is not in the hotel but across the parking lot at a fitness center, and the hours were horrible. The breakfast was runny scrambled eggs, with bacon OR sausage, and one day they had very dry potatoes (there are other items: yogurt, bagels, toast, cereal). We took the "do not disturb" sign off the door so the room could get cleaned up after the 2nd day (i expected the garbage and towels taken out, counters wiped. We make our own bed). When we returned, the towels were gone and not replaced, the garbage was still full and the counters were clearly not wiped. I took the garbage down to the front desk, and asked if I was supposed to take out my own trash, the receptionist didn't answer me. I explained that I had no towels and her reply back was "they're probably washing them. " What!?! So I have to wait to dry my hands/face/whatever until housekeeping washes my towels and brings them back? This is a hotel, it was hot, we wanted another shower. I can't believe this is their policy (which is what receptionist told me). She finally took the garbage and I put new bags in myself. The icing on the cake was on the last day I needed a stirrer so I went to grab the one from the room coffee maker. There wasn't a stirrer in the package and, upon further inspection of said package, I discovered the sugar was torn open and used. Ew! So they don't put a fresh package of sugar/cream/stirrer after every guest? What else isn't clean/fresh? I will NEVER stay at a La Quinta again. I'm very disappointed, what a waste of my money. Oh, and I do agree with other comments that the staff was very polite, housekeeping was at least.
