Basic hotel, very clean, wonderful staff. It is very, very basic. The TVs are not very good but the rooms are huge. Mine had two queen beds and a sofa, but I think you could put another queen in there. Everything is good, but it isn't amazing. it is a basic hotel for visiting Cornell or the Ithaca area.

Nice hotel, well maintained, good breakfast. I would recommend staying here. Is a close drive to downtown and university — well as "quick" a drive as anywhere in beautiful Ithaca. :)

They need a better housekeeper. Hair was found in the bed, in the bathroom sink and on the soap dish. When we asked for them to change the sheets, they left our linens in the room for us to change ourselves. I wouldn't suggest anyone stay here.

Conveniently located to Cornell's campus, especially convenient for the animal hospital (the reason for my trip). Collegetown Bagels is a short walk away, which is very convenient, as the food is delicious and quick. The rooms are fine and what I'd expect for this type of hotel. The bedspread was a thin wool-like brown material, which I suspected had not been washed in awhile. The room was very dark. I did not have shampoo nor soap in my room and the front desk staff seemed annoyed that I was asking for it because apparently their supply was very low; they said they were out of conditioner. Ample easy parking and they have discounts if you are getting services at the animal hospital. Good enough.

A nice enough hotel but upon our arrival one of our beds was covered in dog hair and the maids never noticed (it was a Brown with white hair). Even though there were four adults in a room and we spent three days we never got enough coffee left in room. There Are no refrigerators in the rooms and we had a few spiders and flys. The breakfast they serve in lobby is very good, a nice selection when they stop serving. The reception desk was very helpful and beds comfortable.

This hotel needs better Customer Service!!! check-in experience was brutal. Not friendly whatsoever, it was a mood kill. After a long trip it would have been nice to say hi, hello, or how was your trip. The lady stood up from the desk and looked at me, and said nothing and when she did talk it was super fast, like she wanted us out of there. Room was nice, however i did find a few long strands of hair on the bed and bathtub...not to mention the damn spider in the bathroom during my midnight bathroom break. Even though i experienced all that in the room the check-in customer service lady was the worst!

The heat didn't work in our room, front desk said they would send someone to check, no one came, we had to leave for a wedding and came back pretty late. There was a note on the desk stating that if we needed a room change, we could request one. Too little, too late. Prompt service earlier in the day would have went a long way.

Better than average place to stay. Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent employees

What you look for in a hotel. Wasn't on campus, but was close enough so that traveling there wasn't much of a hassle. The rooms have cathedral ceilings which was nice. Rooms were clean and stocked, but a bit outdated.

Excellent service. Lovely staff. Comfortable room. Great Price.

Comfortable and clean room. A little dated, but had a lot of amenities and breakfast was nice. I did not find my bed very comfortable. Also, if you are searching for the mini fridge, it's under the television in the cabinet. I was slightly confused at first. Tldr: Good room, not fancy.

Decent place near Cornell. Its in a plaza with a grocery store and several food options which is very convenient. Dunkin donuts across the street too.

Not impressed. Hallway dirty with beer bottle tops. Noisy at night. Maybe we were just there in a bad night. On a positive note, the bed was clean and comfortable.

Place was nice but dark and dingy colors. Also fan was very noisy. Very convenient to Cornell campus

The woman who attends on more nights is super rude. It doesn't treat people well.
The rooms are clean and spacious.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting our daughter at Cornell. It was close to campus, clean, had friendly staff, and a nice breakfast. Would stay again!

Pick this Best Western as a value hotel and proximity to Cornell University. Many rooms are not joined to the reception area as this hotel has a few buildings. Building doors are not locked and I did not see cameras. That being said the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the fireplace was nice to have during the blizzard.

Most of the staff very friendly and helpful. Clean. Loved the location for visiting Cornell. Very accommodating to us as we were traveling with 2 small dogs. Their hot breakfast needs improvement otherwise would have given 5 stars

This hotel is aging and not as clean as I would have liked. I was waiting in the lobby for about an hour after checking out because family members had to run errands. It was a very nice and comfortable spot with a fireplace. The worst part of the hotel though was a staff member called Terri who spent a long time loudly complaining behind the desk whilst others were working (there was a very kind white-haired gentleman lugging things up and down the stairs whilst she was complaining). She also loudly nagged another staff member about not participating in an Xmas gift exchange. The poor guy said something like "I can't afford it, I have kids. " Terri's response was that everyone had kids. :-/ I can't imagine having to work with this bully. If this were my hotel, I would fire her immediately. There are tons of people who need a job and would be very grateful for it.

Always stay here when in the Ithaca, NY area. Hotel staff are friendly. The best amenity, by far, is the excellent full breakfast menu, including make-your-own waffles with all the fixings and toppings. The breakfast is amazing. The price is very reasonable as well.

This is my top choice of hotel to stay in when I visit Ithaca. I have been visiting Ithaca since 1967, and currently return at least once per year for special events at Cornell. This hotel emphasizes good quality comfort and services over superficial decorations; the free shuttle to local destinations saves me the expense of a rental car, and all the staff are consistently friendly and helpful.

The hotel is ideally located near Cornell-CHESS. The rooms are spacious. The bathroom is alright as well. Wish if the ventilation in the bathroom worked little better. The breakfast had good variety. Overall the experience is good.

Basic hotel but better than it's reviews made it seem. It's clean and the staff is wonderful. Pet friendly! Nice breakfast included. Worth the money.

Attended with a group of 40. They were ready for us making check in & departure easy. The breakfast staff was very attentive having plenty of fresh food ready to go as the "table turnover" of folks progressed. Rooms nicely appointed with clean & attractive bathroom. Good location at end of a small mall complex & for the Cornell campus; probably need to drive to downtown city center for eating establishments due to steep hill. We would use this location again in the future.

The front desk people were kind and helpful. After complaining that our room was noisy and smelly we were immediately given a very quiet room that may have been newly renovated and it was clean and had no horrible chemical smell. The rest of our stay was enjoyable. But Please… put potatoes of some kind at your breakfast… otherwise that was a very good start to the day. Coffee was delicious.

Greg L.

Property was well tended, room was very clean, except for a few stray hairs that fell from the shower curtain. The furnishings were in good condition and didn't feel outdated. The staff was very courteous, especially the kind women tending the breakfast room. Away from the minor hustle and bustle of the downtown area, but still very convenient access to Cornell campus, the town and other attractions. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Pleasantly surprised that this hotel met my expectations. The room was comfortable and clean. I was expecting tired but it was not. It appears to be a dog friendly hotel which I can appreciate even though I did not have my furry kids. The breakfast is adequate but not special.

Pictures posted online make the lobby look a lot nicer than it is in real life. Room card didn't work, so we ended up having to change rooms. A bug was dying on the floor of the bathroom immediately upon walking in. Also, a light switch wasn't working right, making the entrance light flicker. We asked for a late check-out, but they cleaned our room anyways before the late check-out time. This meant we lost a coffee, milk jug, and leftover pizza. We're lucky we didn't leave anything valuable like electronics in there, or else we wouldn't have seen it again. Only advantage is the cheap price.

This hotel is a property I enjoy staying at. The staff is as friendly and attentive as any 5 star property. The hotels includes breakfast, has a small workout room, fridges and microwaves in the room and my favorite thing to return "home" to, are the rooms with fireplaces. In addition, the rooms are clean, with very comfortable beds. The location is great as far as being able to walk to a store, rsnt, or coffee shop. If you want to avoid the issue of parking on campus they also have a great shuttle service.

Our stay at the Best Western in Ithaca was just what I was looking for. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. It was an easy walk to light shopping and dinner options. The pool looked very inviting but sadly, no bathing suit in my luggage. I will remember this hotel when I return to Ithaca.

Breakfast was great people were very friendly. Rooms were nice as well. Could have better pillows

Gokul U.

The room we stayed in has a ceiling window that was poorly covered with curtains. Once there was day light, it was hard to keep the room dark. The hotel also provides continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and facilitated our late night, 3am, check in.

Sherman U.

This was a self run Best Western Inn, and the rooms were great. Everything standard found in each of the rooms. They felt a bit more spacious because of their high ceilings and slightly larger rooms. Breakfast is served until 10, but the staff was generous enough to help out some guests who slept in. Also, the Wi-Fi was a major bonus. Very fast and easily accessible for the guests.

This place is clean, but by no means luxurious. As another reviewer mentioned, it looks straight out of 1970, especially the bathroom. The fireplace and heat lamps are a great addition (we found it cold even in March, but that's Ithaca for you! ). They also have heat and AC that works perfectly and kept us toasty. Good location near Cornell and East Hill Plaza. Love Wings Over Ithaca and CTB nearby — great places within walking distance to eat. They do also offer shuttles to Cornell, where parking can be a nightmare. Overall, probably the best moderately priced hotel near Cornell.

Devin P.

Very nice rooms. Clean. Good breakfast. Free shuttle. 10/10 would stay again.

Rebecca M.

The fireplace is a wonderful perk and the bathtub, with accompanying heat lamp, is a much needed asset on our trip.

Artur B.

The hotel was very quiet and had a nice breakfast but in a small room. Would recommend for anyone needing to stay the night.

Nathan R.

This place is the worst. Dirty, dark, and weird. Never again!

DO NOT STAY HERE! After checking in with the very nosy desk keeper, I was greeted in my room with fingernail clippings on the floor next to my bed. All around the room I found other small pieces of trash. What does that tell you about the cleaning people here? This is just arriving at the hotel, and I am afraid of whats next. I really hope this is just a one time thing, and Best Western will do something about staff here…

Olga D.

Very BAD experience: awfull smell in the room, wet carpet in front of the bathroom, handicap room with wierd shower, fridge does not work. The front desk manager said nothing could be done about the complains. I do NOT recommend this hotel.

Brian M.

My room at this Best Western was frozen in time, a snapshot of the 1970s complete with a fireplace and wood paneling. It was not particularly modern, but spacious and comfortable enough for my short-term stay. Given the limited options in the area and the convenience of this location I'll probably be staying here again.

Terrible. Noisy. Old. Unclean. Not good. Many other places to stay in Ithaca.

Old rooms and old furniture and the power outlet was behind the couch and no other power outlet near the bed in a suite room. That was bad. Didn't expect in a suite room.

This hotel was very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast (served from 7-10 a. M. ) was really great due to its great selection. I even had a powdered doughnut for dessert after my breakfast! I liked that the hotel was small, and just had one floor. The rooms were a tad cramped, but then again I have only been to a few hotels with spacious rooms. The sloped and very high ceiling with an amazing fake-wood ceiling fan was perfect. I also liked the wallpaper — solid, then a line of roses, then stripes. It seemed kind of modest in a way. There were two things I found wrong with this hotel, though: there were no movies available, and there was no plug for the bathtub so, when I was having a bath, I had to keep the water running the whole time. Otherwise, I found the Best Western University Inn to be a sweet and peaceful hotel.
