I can't say I wouldn't reccomend the Inn. It is beautiful. The rooms are wonderful, the shower was fantastic. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was close to restaurants and downtown. The downside, the bar downstairs. Very noisy crowds. Our room was at top of stairs and we heard everything. All the singing, laughing, screaming, etc… It does close at 10, but it was close to 1130 before it quieted down. I understand they had a party that I guess were staying at the Inn. But they need to try and sound proof the rooms a little. We had our TV on and could barely hear the movie.

We just love everything about the Argos Inn. The rooms are beautiful and the staff so friendly and kind. The attention to details is very classy. We had a fantastic New Year’s Eve and the day after, and look forward to coming back!

So nice to stay in this unique place so close to downtown. So not “cookie cutter, ” and very ecologically-friendly. I would definitely recommend!

Great space for drinks and fun gatherings.

Everything is so unique, lots of art and vintage items and furniture. Cozy but spacious. Everything is very clean. The continental breakfast is one of the best I’ve had.

Hosted a bridal shower at Argos — it was so lovely, perfect in every way. Tippy did a great job helping us coordinate the event.

Very nice upscale place. Wonderful cocktails and great vibe. You will need to dress up a bit because you might feel a bit out of place if you don't. I believe they do brunch as well, but I have only gone there for drinks. Great place to treat yourself, but you won't get out of there for less than $10 a drink at least.

The Argos Inn was lovely and extremely clean. We loved the close proximity to downtown. Staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the bar and it was nice that it closed to the public at 10 so noise in the room was never an issue. Glass porch room was filled with light and really pretty!

As always a wonderful place for drinks and company. This bar should not be over looked if you are going for a night on a town. Very classy good drinks.

Nice place, amazing yard. Cocktail are great, but I had a mediocre Spritz. Anyways, recommended.

We stayed at the inn and attended a dinner at the warehouse space. The inn is lovely and the staff is friendly and courteous. The warehouse space is really cool. Would recommend.

Lovely retro hotel with old world charme and a great coctail bar. Nice decor and great beds. Well kept and clean. Calm, though not very soundproof rooms. Had there been organic options for breakfast it would be 5 stars.

Nice Inn. Old house that's been renovated in an unusual way. Beautiful woodwork and mechanicals. Furniture is a bit odd, 1930's sparse look. But, it works well. Staff were lovely. Bar can be loud, but it seems popular, and it closes by 10p, so it doesn't interfere. Nice outdoor terrace to sit. Good location.

Creatively crafted cocktails with a rotating bar menu. The rooms are beautifully renovated in a historical building. The owner of the Argos spent years renovating this lovely building and has won awards from the historical society. Absolutely beautiful atmosphere and amazingly decorated. I highly recommend the Argos Inn!

The event was well prepared, good music.

Beautiful Victorian Inn nicely restored and within walking distance of The Commons. Short drive to both Cornell and Ithaca College. Nicely appointed rooms and free breakfast. Yet affordable. Downstairs, there's a wonderful bar and live music.

Rooms are all different and beautifully decorated. There's a bar downstairs that's open to the public it closes a little early which is unfortunate, however it's centrally located close to downtown not a far walk to any of the other bars that are open later. Staff was friendly and the breakfast in the morning had a nice selection with an option for everyone.

Really cool atmosphere. An old house renovated into this unique and cozy bar. They advertise seating for 80 and a dancer floor for 130. There is an entire second floor that we didn't check out but the first floor has lots of parlor-style seating and a large sunroom with three giant tables with bench seating. The while place has this eclectic turn of the century vibe. Our bartender was really cool and we just had a very nice time.

I love Argos. They make the best cocktails in town. Also, they have a constantly changing menu with new drinks to try all the time.

I just went to the bar there. Although the prices are high, they mix artistic drinks, interesting, and generally rich. If someone doesn't like their drink, they make them another one for free, because they want people to try their distinctive creations. A star is missing because it is a bar maybe too expensive, and because it closes early (at 10 pm) even during the weekend.

Went there for drinks on a Friday night in the winter. It had a relaxed classy atmosphere, and they served some interesting themed drinks. The bar is small, but there are other spots to sit in the surrounding area. Overall, it is a small place. We sat in a front room with a large table. Service was kind and welcoming.

Decent bar and inn. The result of it also being an inn means last call at the bar is much earlier than other bars. Does have some good parties especially now with their new warehouse space. Good for cocktails.

Fancy cocktails are tasty but expensive. The bar closes pretty early since it's also an inn. Service at the bar can be pretty slow since the fancy cocktails take longer to make than just getting a beer. The first floor/bar is a bunch of rooms (like in a house) with chairs/couches, not traditional restaurant tables. Good venue for a date or hanging out with 1-2 people, probably not great for large groups. New Warehouse space next door was open on New Years Eve for dancing. Building is kind of strange, weird layout. There's not a real bar in the warehouse, just a table set up where they sold bottles of beer and wine. Maybe this will change after it's open for a while…

Great atmosphere and nice drinks. Feels like a really classy place.

Argos inn is located just before the Ithaca commons. It is generally known for its unique cocktails and ambiance it brings about. The bar closes at 10 making it an ideal place to start the night or perhaps end if you are one to go to bed at a decent time. Expect to wait quite a bit to put in an order after 9pm, they get pretty crazy busy. Food trucks are sometimes outside but I don't know the exact days. Overall, a very pleasant place to bring your visiting friends or family for a relaxing drink.

It is very comfortable and homey. The bar is fast and the bar tenders and bar backs are very pleasant.

I love the Argos Inn! The drinks are always fun, delicious, and interesting. I've scene menus inspired by Kurt Vonnegut, Wes Anderson, and Twin Peaks. The vibe is very hip.

The drinks were good and creative. The atmosphere was nice! It was a bit over crowded inside, but outside was pleasant!

Our Blue Peacock Room (queen) was on the first floor in the back, so we didn't hear any noise from the parlor. It was great considering there was a jazz show that night. When looking at their website before booking, they did mention specific rooms that were more susceptible to noise. The location was pretty convenient for us. We were able to leave our car parked at the hotel during our stay. While the room was slightly small compared to chain hotels, the little touches and finishes were amazing. It was nice having a Nest thermostat, a toilet that can do half/full flushes, and a heated bathroom floor! Can't wait to stay here again.

Quaint inn in Ithaca, NY that has a fantastic bar. Their choices of cocktails make for some interesting choices, all of which make for a special sipping experience whether alone or with friends. Beware though, if you're looking for a cheap drink, you won't find it here. Expect high-quality that comes with a likewise reasonable price.

Good place for early night and dinner patty.

This is a quaint little hotel in the heart of Ithaca. The room are comfortable and modern. The mixed drinks at the bar are unique and tasty.

I've never stayed over at the Argos hotel, but the bar is one of my favorite in town. The drinks are interesting and well made, often including house made infusions, etc. Prices are a little high, but fair for the quality of ingredients. There's a variety of seating from bar stools to comfy old Victorian couches, a sun room with a large table for groups, a non smoking side patio and a back patio for smokers.

The Argos Inn is absolutely beautiful. We felt as though we were in a place back in time. Words can not describe how beautiful it truly is unless you stay there yourself. The bar is breathtaking, and the rooms are quaint! Perfect place for a getaway.

Charming restored inn with spacious bar, seating area, atrium breakfast area downstairs. Expert bartenders and a fun cocktail menu. I recommend the Doctor's Choice cocktail. A Beautifully tuned piano my Cornell student son played at Friday cocktail hour in the bar area too. Live music some nights. Food trucks some evenings too. Ample outdoor seating. Jennie was an excellent front desk person who understands true service and ably & calmly handled an issue regarding our reservation. Sincere and down to earth. In the Inn every detail has been restored to old-fashioned beauty, yet using state of the art green technology, materials and methods. My favorite was the two push buttons for turning on and the off the lights. Charming. Bed was so comfortable. The bathroom floor was heated. Breakfast the next morning consisted of delicious cold, or room temp fare. Top place I've stayed in Ithaca. I highly recommend the Argos Inn.

Fun, delicious drinks. Possibly the most adventurous mixology around. Nice atmosphere, not the undergraduate crowd.

They had great cocktails! I got the daily punch, which was really sweet and tart, but still had plenty of alcohol in it. The rooms had a lot of old fashioned furniture, which was a nice touch.

Simple and elegant bar and lobby. The outside seating area was clean and nicely designed. There are occasional food trucks in the parking lot since the bar does not serve food.

Argos Inn was an incredible find. The atmosphere was sometimes like living in a 1850s-1920s dream with the vintage furniture and stylization of the little things that really make a place a place and sometimes like a luxury hotel without all the fuss, incredible big beds and sheets modern showers… Any day or night spent here is a good night spent on planet earth. I slept so well. Thank you Argos I will return! And the gorgeous zink bar in the lobby with great mixed drinks and fun but mellow/thoughtful people was a perfect thing to pop in and out of. A true gem of a hotel.

This place has the best adult bar seen in Ithaca. Fancy mixed drinks and quality bottled beer.

Good vibe, fancy drinks, rightfully expensive.

In the bar, we ordered two martinis with Bombay Sapphire gin, one dirty, one not. They were out of Bombay, so we ordered another gin. They were also out of brine, so no dirty gin. The martini glasses were small, like Manhattan glasses, and the little olives in the drinks looked like the ones you find at the back of your refrigerator after a few months. Our son had a Buffalo Trace on the rocks; can't mess that up. So for the next round, my wife and I ordered that, but now they were out of Buffalo Trace. Who is responsible for keeping this bar stocked? The ambiance is great, so we will give the place one more try. If the drinks fail then, the place goes on our "done list".

Excellent place to hang out and get some very interesting drinks. Bartenders are creative and knowledgeable. Plenty of tables and seating for groups large and small. Check it out!

A lovingly restored inn; clean, comfortable and classy. We really could not ask for anything more!

I went for the architecture, you did not disappoint. Unbelievable — stunning. Unfortunately I would have to say the same exact thing for the waitstaff. Hostess was incredibly rude, actually had to say something to her, to call her out. Is she the owner's daughter? How did she get that job? And how does she keep it. I would've fired her heartbeat if she worked front end for me. And the bartender makes the bloody Mary with his bare fingers? Did I miss something? Is this a new thing? Maybe they're so happy they just mix the drinks with their bare fingers. A little too cool for school. But the architecture is very nice. Unfortunately would prefer to visit the empty building.

Reviewing the bar: service was horrible. Asked the bartender for drink after waiting 10 minutes, he proceeded to talk to his friend for 5 minutes until I asked him again. Then he didn't get me change, assuming I was tipping 67% after waiting 15 minutes for a drink. Other people were clearly being ignored, even when gesturing and asking for attention. It was also not too busy, so it was quite perplexing that they were so unwilling to do their jobs.

Great drinks. Only place in Ithaca to get a Wisconsin style old fashioned. They serve it with an awesome ice sphere.

Perfect. Classic. Refined yet comfortable. My wife and I made a last minute reservation via a Google search while we were passing through Ithaca. We were given the Peacock Room and were offered a discount for a same day booking. On arrival we entered to find a lovingly restored, beautifully decorated inn with a friendly accommodating staff. We peeked into the bar (unexpected) and were shown to our room. The room was to the rear of the building down a private corridor. Another beautifully decorated room with gorgeous chair rail moulding and crown moulding. A very comfortable bed, excellent climate control (Nest), a deluge shower (we felt guilty using all that water), a heated bathroom floor with linear drain. We went to the bar for some late afternoon cocktails as the summer sun shone through the bar windows. The artisanal, hand crafted cocktails were exceptional and prepared by a master bartender. Our night was comfortable and we woke to a simple continental breakfast in sunny day room at a communal table (organic yogurt/granola/biscotti). This is a great find and will sure to be popular and difficult to reserve as their reputation spreads. We look forward to finding another excuse to visit Ithaca to stay again.

Completely unexpected, this gorgeous restored mansion will likely become THE place to stay in Ithaca. One of the most beautiful and unique hotels I've been to in a long time. If you've booked a room somewhere else, do everything you can to cancel it! If you can't, then at least head to the amazing zinc covered bar, which is open to the public.

Theres nothing like this place in Ithaca. The inn is beautifully restored, and the staff are amazingly hospitable and friendly. All of the rooms have a charming sense of refinement without coming across as too stuffy. I felt comfortable and welcome during my whole stay.
