Nice place! Pool is great room was clean and bathroom was much bigger than most shore Morris I have ever been too. Right on the beach and not far from the boardwalk and there’s a bike rental right across the street.

Nice location. Cute little mini golf course for kids. Nice pool.

Place is total dump. Staff was rude and ignorant. We didn’t have power due to the hurricane… understandable right? But was told power was coming on shortly and never did. So the next day we left. The place is literally falling apart. Don’t go there. And the owner or manager is the one in following text.

Worst experience ever. The older lady with the bleach blonde hair told my aunt to lose some weight after a small incident of us changing in the bathrooms that she blown way out of proportion. Very unprofessional and rude staff. We weren’t expecting something super fancy but expected to at least be treated like a normal human being. I’m truly embarrassed for that lady and hope she learns to lighten up and be respectful. It’s a shame because the motel is at a nice location on the beach but do not come here, the place is disgusting.

Staff were rude, everything was falling apart. There was mold in the paintings.

Kids love it they are having a blast golf course and all great big pool and owners are one in a million.

Room is nice could be updated and have more lighting. Pool water a bit to warm. Beach grill not operating or open. Nothing to write home and tell mom about.

Outdated from rooms to the outside premises of the motel. Ants in my room n very uncomfortable beds. All decor in rooms are from like the late 60’s or 70’s. The walkway to get to rooms are very narrow. Meaning if ur sitting outside ur room u have to keep getting up for people to walk by. Like going to a sporting event. The only positive here is the 2nd floor deck over looking the ocean n beach.

In serious need of updates and renovation. Furniture is still from the 80's, water stains on ceiling, mold in bathroom ceiling. Mattresses dip in the middle and the pullout couch was broken. And this was our second room — our first room hadn't been cleaned from its previous occupants, and we got there at 9. Also the Wi-Fi sucks. Overall though there was nothing dangerous. Just slightly gross and in desperate need of retrofitting. Keep the look! But make everything cleaner.

Ok here's what I think after being there a couple of days; it's an old motel. Like most there, it's really due for a good cleaning and major upgrades. The people taking care of the rooms were very nice and most people staying there had families. It's not a resort, or a 5 star place. It's very basic and old. It's at the end of the foot path that leads to the board walk so keep that in mind. Beach access is easy. So if you just need a room and you are not expecting a fancy fully upgraded place it's fine.

The only thing I can think of that would lead people to post positive reviews is 1. They lucked out and got one of the few rooms that were renovated… or 2. These are fake reviews posted by their own staff. — — — — DO NOT STAY HERE! Trust me, I’m NOT picky at all when it comes to motels, hotels, etc. I can appreciate getting a cheap deal and some quirks to it, I don't expect everything to be perfect. When we arrived and checked in, the lights in the room didn’t work, the AC didn’t work. MOLD EVERYWHERE! The owner came up to try to help, and then lost one of the room keys, BUT THEN THE “lost” key was in her hand the entire time! She told us she was going to get a new light bulb but never came back. The ceiling and walls had mold all over. My boyfriend went to the front desk to figure things out about a new room, none were offered. They refused to switch our room but kept apologizing to us… BUT then kept forgetting to help us. While I was waiting with our stuff, the owner brought another family up and said to me “Oh… this is your room? I can’t believe I did that. I was supposed to fix something for you wasn’t I? Remember, I was just up here? ” A couple of the lights finally worked, but the AC didn't… The family she brought up was equalled pissed and tried getting their money back as well. I couldn’t believe it. Let’s just say we left as fast as we could and booked a new hotel (The Gold Crest Motel — it was Perfect!

I was very happy with our stay! The staff was very accommodating and nice! I think it is hilarious to see all the negative comments. I mean what did you expect you came to Wildwood, NJ. If you wanted a 5 star hotel you should have went somewhere else! I am very pleased with the room I got and for the price I paid!

Disgusting! Unsanitary bathrooms with pubic hair! Mold mold mold! Tub doesn’t drain! Toilets don’t flush! Mold on ceilings! Ac doesn’t work! Dirty sheets. I asked for new sheets and they were dirty! I was switched to a second room and that was horrible too! It also had mold in the bathroom. The wall is falling apart and so is the tile floor! We had a future stay for September and we will not be going back. They kept $75 of our future stay even tho it is so far away. While we were checking out others were complaining of unsanitary conditions and other problems as well. Don’t stay here. It’s a waste of money!

Unbelievable! The pool was wet! The 1 ice machine worked. Great view with free Sunshine. Gentle ocean breeze. Very nice staff. They felt sorry for you from the start. All & all great place to stay as long as you don't stay in the room.

This is the worst motel I have ever stayed in. My family was looking forward to rest and relaxation but all we got was mold and mildew, misery and dispair. There is old broken furniture all over the property. Underneath the steps were twenty or so old lamps from the rooms. There was trash all over the outside of the property — napkins, plates, beer cans, and of course old bandaids. The old mini golf course smelled like mold and I did not see any putters or balls anywhere. Our room was even worse. We stayed in room 325. When we opened the door, we were punched in the face by heat and the smell of the musty carpet. The wall unit air conditioner was not on and the original ac unit did not work. The lights were not plugged in and the carpet has not been cleaned since the 80s. All of the furniture should be in the trash, the sheets were transparent, and the mattresses needed to be replaced. As with any bad motel there was a stain in the carpet that had its own life. The best part of the room was the bathroom it was dated but clean. There was a notebook made between the sheets on the bed. The cable worked on the tube tv, the pool was ok at best. The location was nice but not worth the abuse. I would not go here. If you do leave your family in the car while it’s running so you can make a quick getaway. No one working the desk at check out. The train station in wildwood would be a better option.

Called to confirm my reservation this morning. I spoke to a Mark. Very nice & pleasant sounding. No problem so far.

Disgusting place. Pool chemicals not locked up. Website states it has children’s activities and beach front grille. Both are not in operation. Sofa beds have springs popping out. Rude bleached blonde woman at check in couldn’t be bothered to apologize instead offered excuses. Efficiency room has no cooking or eating utensils. She claims people steal them. Moved rooms at 11pm and no offer of help or first night free. Black mold on ceiling of first room. Nails popping up. Second room lamp held together by tape. They then put a French couple with a baby in our first room without any remedy. Disgusting place. We were there last year and it was okay. Not great but under new owners it’s disgusting. Front desk staff have their children in there. The laundry facilities only have one working washer and dryer out of 4 or 5 each.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had! The fully equipped kitchens were not fully equipped. Not even close. When I asked for stuff to cook with I got dirty pots and pans. I asked the maid for dish soap and she didn't understand my question! There were no sheets for the pull out couch and it took almost an hour for them to bring them to us just before 11 pm and the best was the next morning when we discovered water leaking from the light fixture in the ceiling! We were assured we would be upgraded to a fully stocked room. 2 hours later the woman came in and said it's not leaking now are you sure you want to switch rooms? She hadn't found us a room yet and we had been packed and ready to move for 2 hours… after being assured she was upgrading us as soon as possible. We were told no refunds but we could have a free night. At this point we didn't even want to stay the night we paid for but decided to take it. Second room was a bit nicer however the central air did not work so they had to install a window unit. The room has accomodations for 6 people yet our fully stocked kitchen had only 2 spoons! After coming back from the pool and beach at 4pm to find that our room wasn't cleaned and we had no towels for showers we decided to not stay the free night and we left. Another guest told me she went to the front desk for towels and they had none! Upon checking out they wanted to charge us a late check out fee!

Third time to Ocean View. Last time too. It is now a slum. Staff incompetent and inadequate. Waited two hours past check in time for room. Room condition resembled condemned home condition. Mold everywhere. Food debris on furniture and floor. Smelled of body odor and mold. Incredible safety violations outside of room. Where the hell is the health department in Wildwood?

I recently stayed there. I got the room I wanted and I have to say that the staff done there best to make it comfortable. New management took over. And yes there are alot of issues but it's not new management fault cause recently they just took over they were unaware of all the problems with this motel. They all trying to take care of all issues. I did have a problem with certain prople staying there due to the loudness and the disrespect to other's. Breaking into the machines, breaking bottles ect. I did bring it to the office attention and from my knowledge I do believe it was handled. Im giving this place the benefit of the doubt because they did just buy the building. Staff we're very nice to me and checked on me to see if I was happy and if there was anything else they could do to make my stay easy.

I wish I could rate less than 1. I took my family to this motel to have a good time in wildwood but that was not what we got. The first problem is that I paid for a suite and got a room with two beds and only 1 pillow. Second when the rest of my family came and I needed more space to for all of us instead of compromising the front desk just walked away. So instead of spending my day on the beach with my family I spent it trying to get a room with enough beds and no leaking roofs. Also we couldn’t even use the pool because of how disgusting it was. I was green not like in the picture all blue GREEN. Then the worst happened at night when we finally got a large enough room for all of us there were people so drunk that they couldn’t stand still and a fight was brought right in front of my window where my kids were sitting in the corner crying. Lastly the boardwalk was miles away so if you wanted to go you had to walk for an hour or drive and pay for parking. So do not go here.

We stayed over the week end at the ocean view hotel at wild wood crest, it was the worst experience I ever had. It started with the misleading info about our room. We reserved a suite with a sofa bed but we got a double bed room and the front desk help with an attitude told us that I am going to give u a double bed room for a night until my husband arrive in 2 days. Then she sends back and forth so many times. We talked to her so many time from Friday may 25 till Sunday may 27. She wanted to have a room which had a leaking bathroom. Every thing about this. Motel is bad. No elevator, leaking bathroom ceiling next to light bulb. Vilation after violation every where you go. I do not how they got their coo to operate with all this violation.

This hotel has been Sold to new owner this year 2018 they remodeling the hotel and owner very nice on the phone I give anthoer update when I get back for star review so as far owner very nice 3 star update when I get back.

I take the time to write this so that someone else does not book this year 2018. My vacation of the year 2017 was a horrible experience I do not recommend it for anything in the world. the rooms do not serve the air conditioning, the beds are full of bed bugs, the bathrooms are horrible and the customer service is the worst the manager never gave us the face, we returned home at dawn because we could not sleep and they did not I care that we have little children. Please do not reserve here. Thank you.

I made resevation and I wanted to talk to the owner or mánager but they never were available to talk to me, and so I kept calling and calling to see if my resevation went threw but there was always a isue. I was so disappointed. I thought that being taken over a new management things would be better in communication, but it wasn't. What a shame. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Because with all the bad reviews God knows if it wasn't meant to be. Am hoping right now that my payment doesn't go threw!

Great location, but the rooms are definitely a bit dated. Could've stood to look a little better and offer better TV service. With some better ventilation. It was comfortable enough for our stay, but like I said, could stand to update a bit. Does offer a huge pool that the kids will love though. The real bonus is being across from the pancake restaurant at the Admiral. Just the right place for a great oceanside meal.

My two sisters, our kids and I stayed at this motel on a two day trip. We paid over $200 for one night and the room not only smelled, but the walls were cracking and the highlight of the room — there was MOLD on the pull out couch. Never would I ever pay over $200 fr a room that is unsafe and unsanitary to stay in. So when looking to speak with a manager about this concern, there was none on duty. After leaving a personal message and contact information, we received no calls. This place has a good location, sure, but ita dirty as hell and clearly the staff has no problem letting their customers sleep with mold. I would recommend this place to nobody.

To begin I only rated this motel 1 star because it wouldn't let me rate 0. The ocean view motel was by far the most appalling hotel I have ever visited. I was traveling to find a last minute hotel and we stumbled upon ocean view. We were given a "suite" the room smelled musty and there was no light fixtures once so ever just a few lamps. The bathroom was by far the most abominable thing I have ever seen. The bath water wouldn't go down the drain. And by drain I mean a hole in the front of the tub that regurgitated the water back up. The lining of the tub was filled with mildew. The floor was dirty and the bathroom floors were lined with mold. There was an AC in the living room however that was useless because the living room was so disgusting you would cringe when you say on the couch. The ac was also irrelevant because it didn't reach the bedroom! So to cool off we were left with a disgusting dirty fan! When we were getting ready to leave the hotel (5-6 hours in) we were not refunded our money even after we explained the traits of the room. BEWARE of the ocean view motel it is not suitable nor sanitary for any guests.

Despite the fact that this place could easily have been built before the advent of indoor plumbing, and clearly hasn't been redecorated or updated since Charlie's Angels was on prime time, we really loved it! Right on the beach, although not close to boardwalk attractions. I like being on the quiet side of town, but we will definitely bring bikes next year. Management is not concerned with customer service, however I was told at check in that new management will be taking over in October (which explains the lack of concern for pretty much everything). There is a beautiful pool, coin laundry (I don't know if they work well) and a mini golf course on site — no charge — I guess we'll see!

Don, t stay here! This place is a smelly dive! I've stayed all over over in Wildwood since I was 8 years old and have never experienced such a dump! Where do I begin: The room had a bad musty smell which they tried to cover up with some chemicals of sort. The tiles on the kitchen floor were broken and dirty, when at the end of the night walking around the floors and rugs in white socks there was this black filth on the bottom. The bed was made with sheets that had cigarette burns in them, so gross. We had run out to the nearest Walmart and purchased bedsheets and pillows. The TV remote didn't work. Turned it on and off using a pen placing it in where there was a power button. The refrigerator didn't work. Wallpaper was bubbling up on the wall. The ice machine was not working in the lobby, and when I questioned it they really didn't seem to care. We couldn't stand more than one night here and checked out the next day. Wish I had reviewed this dump first on trip advisor before checking in here. I learned a valuable lesson here and can only hope I help someone else.

It's good if you don't want anything extravagant. It had a pool and you're on the beach. The boardwalk is a hearty walk but doable on a summer night. I really like that places to eat are all around. The service is blotchy. You're better off asking the maids in the morning for towels and sheets and taking things from their cart.

Our experience at the ocean view hotel has been wonderful from start to finish. Meg at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant. Housekeeping was also wonderful and immediately came up after we checked in to see if we needed anything like extra towels… room was large and clean cheerfully decorated and reasonably priced. Hotel has kid activities throughout each day you can partake in and has a schedule at front desk explaining the times of each activity. Right on the beach and next to a playground perfect for a family vacation. We will definitely be back as our stay here was an excellent experience.

Found the hotel to be dated and in need of repair. Our deadbolt was painted shut and did not work. The rooms dehumidifier was necessary and had to be emptied every four hours. There was chewed gum on the picture frame. On the positive side I found front desk and employees in hallway very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful. Right on the beach. Have a nice pool with grill area AND mini golf. Would stay every summer.

Negative reviews about this place are completely exaggerated and overblown. Great location, right on the beach, plenty to do nearby. Very laidback and clean; attentive and polite staff. Rooms are comfortable, great air conditioning, nice deep swimming pool, comfortable sun deck, mini golf and grills and activities for the kids. Do yourself a favor and ignore the negative reviews.

I have been going to this motel for the past 25 years with very nice summer time memories but unfortunately this year has been the worst. We stayed there for 4 days and twice we didn't have hot water, the tub took a long time to drain, the door to the bedroom rubbed against the carpet so it was difficult to move, had to hold handle down for toilet to flush the staff tried to fix some of the problems but what bother me the most was the person I complained to, his comment was " you paid for the location not the accommodations" not the right answer! I hope the owners reply to this post and fix this place because I would like to return but not until they do major repairs.

The only good thing about this motel was the pool, that was awesome. The first 5 mins we were here the power went out 3 times. They said we had to much plugged in, but he had nothing plugged in. The Wi-Fi did not work in our room which was a huge disappointment as well. The room was not very nice, kind of dirty. The staff were very unprofessional as well.

Please don't let these past reviews discourage anyone from booking the Oceanview Motel I admit I was skeptical but from the moment I checked in June 23 thru 26, 2016 the staff was wonderful and friendly a helpful young man was even willing to escort me to our room as I am handicapped. Is it a 5 star room … no but neither are the prices for what I got and needed for a fabulous relaxing shore stay. The room was cool, clean could use some TLC and Renovations but nothing to get the horrible reviews I read. Our ocean view to wake up to a sunrise every morning, awesome clean heated pool, miniature golf and game room and barbecue grills on property makes this place worth going and I am looking forward to another stay whenever possible. Big mistake, room smelled of mold, bed linens were stained, sofa was stained, window was cracked, very very dissatisfied. My family will never come here again! Stay away. This place needed a entire makeover, some other sites say this a 3 to 4 star place — DONT YOU BELIEVE IT! we slept in our clothing — even the dam towels smelled like wet dog.

Day1: They made 2 different reservations for my stay for the week and charged me 111 per day for the first reservation and 189 for the last day which falls mid week. The kid behind the desk is nasty, and the manager has no clue how to be a manager and treat their guests. They were arguing with me in front of my daughter just a bad experience. The lady behind the desk should be the manager because she was the only nice person but the kid took over and was just a nasty person. I reserved first floor facing the beach, and I got 3rd floor door facing the street. Terrible start for the first day. The tub drains slow so when your taking a shower your standing in a pool of water. I asked for an email address for the owner or corporate and they refused to give it to me. Don't pay in full which was a mistake I made before I got here.

My sister booked this hotel last summer it was last minute bc I was in another hotel and all the rooms were book. When I walked in to help her unpack what a disgrace. I told her she couldn't not stay here. It was like a whole in the wall. The smell made made me wanna vomit the bathroom was dirty the bed looked like someone just through the sheet up and it had a whole in the wall literally, dresser draws were broken. When I went into the office to raise hell they offered her an upgrade a bigger room with an Oceanview. Well, that was even worse there was throw up left in the tub and toilet the bathroom walls were all cracked, the rug had wholes in it, the smell still made me wanna vomit and big cracks in the ceiling. I immediately went down to the office and demanded a refund which was given to me bc there is no way u can ever make up for the left throw up in the tub and toilet. I also called the department of health. This motel should be knocked down. It's just disgusting. Thank God my hotel room was big enough and her a day her boyfriend stayed with me. It's doesn't even deserve one star but it would let me post this without it.

Horrible, fire hazards all over the room. Dirty and smelled of mildew and mold. Stove didn't work, extention cords under the sink and no phone wire to call the front desk. I asked for my room to be changed then was told there were no rooms available. My family was the only family there so how was that possible. If I had the money to forfeit and stay at another place I would have. The staff was rude. The railing on the balcony was faulty and flimsy. Another guest almost fell down the stairs because the railing was very loose. Upon my return home all of my belongings smelled of mildew and mold. Even my bread smelled of this funk. My asthma flared up really bad and I couldn't breathe. This place is to expensive to have such horrible conditions. This place needs to be shut down immediately. Don't waste your money or time at the oceanview motel. The pool was green and not to mention housekeeping "serviced" my room and left the door wide open for someone to come in and steal my belongings. Had to string the cabinet under the sink to keep my grandson from touching the extention cords. I had to say a hail Mary before entering the elevator. The arcade stole most of my money. If you want the experience of staying in an abandoned building this is the place to go. Contacting the BBB, FD, and the health dept.

When I was younger, I would go with family &it's a great place to bring kids. It's in a great location too.

The hotel is very outdated and in desperate need of renovation. The room was dirty and smelled awful. One of the bedroom walls had a whole and the sheets were full of dark sports (dirty). To top it all, there was NO showerhead. How can you allow someone to stay at your hotel in those conditions. My experience at this hotel wasn’t great at all al definitely not worth the money I spent. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I will not be staying here ever again.

I booked at the last minute and what a mistake that was. This place was the worst Ive been in. The room was like a closet. The place smelled like mold. There were people at night hanging outside our room talking loudly even past the so called quiet time which was 11:00. Young people in the pool throwing football across the pool, no lifeguard. People in the pool past the shut down time. Must I go on. Save yourself alot of aggravation and go somewhere else. Funny thing is the place is always busy. Where does that money go? I don't see how this place passes inspection. Never again. I suggest that you tear it down and start over. I read all these reviews here and however nothing gets changed. Terrible!

The view from our room (201) was okay actually pretty nice but the room was disappointing tHe phone and clock were disconnected. The refrigerator didn't work and to even top that they have a elevator it was pretty small but I sent my daughter out to the front desk she took the elevator on the way down but on the way up it stopped she was stuck in the elevator for 15 minutes! The room is trash the food bar here stinks and our fan was broken we asked for a new one its covered in dirt and dust. Never again.

This motel was disgusting & outdated. The room smelled musty, there were cobwebs, pillows were stained & smelled, the outlets were hanging out if the wall, loud noise coming from air vent, bathroom was gross, TV was old and picture was horrible. I could just go on & on. When I called to complained about cleanliness of room they did NOTHING except give me 2 more pillows and didn't attempt to clean rm until noon the next day when we were told it would be cleaned 1st thing in the morning. We paid $546 for 2 nights which is crazy. I would never stay there again.

Most of the electrical plugs were falling out of the wall. The turn on for the shower just spun around. It took us 20 minutes to get it to Luke warm. Advertises free Wi-Fi but you can't get logged in. It keeps kicking you out. The worst part was the door appeared to have been broken into at one time and therigged it with a couple screws. When you pulled it shut you could pretty much just push it open. When we complained to the front desk they told us their doors are very secure. I told them I beg to differ with them and within an hr maintenance was at out room putting on a new door.

Never again will I stay here. The great thing about the motel is the view and the walking distance of the beach. The shower was terrible. It was a warm must. I didn't want to walk in the room bare footed that's how nasty I felt it was. The paint was chipping off the walls. I had to have the blankets changed due them being stained. Not a great experience for me at all. It's definatley not worth the price… Thumbs down!

Absolutely wonderful. I booked our room online and realized I booked the wrong dates upon arriving at the motel. The front desk staff quickly modified our reservation and added a complimentary upgrade to an oceanview suite. Our room was clean, A/C was cold, pool was clean, and front desk staff were extremely helpful when it came to recommending local restaurants. Our view was beautiful. One of the cheapest hotels we could find, and we were more than pleased. We will not be staying anywhere else during future Wildwood trips.

This motel is sub-standard. Although they did keep it fairly clean, there was a constant grinding noise next to our room making it difficult to even sleep. Also they installed low budget shower heads that basically just spray a 'mist' — you can't get clean. We ordered a king bed but got 2 full beds. Staff was nice but I would not recommend this motel. We paid $140/night on mem. Day weekend so I guess you get what you pay for.

Check in to this hotel for prom weekend had no hot water to shower Manger knew there was problem with the hot water and still put us in those room had to take freezing cold shower and all they said was sorry they should be I wouldn't stay there again.

We had a great time at the Oceanview. I was a little concerned because of some bad reviews, but it turned out to be a wonderful, family-oriented, fun place. The location is perfect — right at the start of the bike path to the pier, and directly on the ocean. The pool was large and well-kept. The rooms were clean, good-sized and adequately furnished. We did have to buy an air mattress for the pull out couch, but other than that, the linens and bedding were fine. There was a full-size refrigerator and small stove. The kids enjoyed the miniature golf course on site, and participated in some of the organized activities. Some of the lounge chairs by the pool needed replacing, and some general modernization and sprucing up would be a good idea, but for the price it is a tremendous value. The Oceanview offers a relaxed, casual family atmosphere. It has its faults, but some of them are endearing, and we are most definitely going back there again.

Fair and balanced review. The stay was pleasant. The room could be updated. The bathroom needs a gfc outlet cause I got an electric shock when using a blow dryer. The parking situation is a mess. But overall it wasn't too bad.

Great motel, great spot on the beach, very accommodating, Rooms being up graded for the past few years and looking great. Perfect for what they are meant for shower and sleep. As part of the soccer tournament group leader we do take over the bbq section on Sat night but accommodate anyone that needs the grills as well as hotel providing additional 2 grills to those that need if asked. We even offered food to a wedding group. We never trashed the place but the garbage cans are full when we're done and the toy vending machine in the arcade may be empty :) Staff has it all spotless by the next morning. Great group of people.

This is not a place for a romantic getaway. It is a summer place for a low-key vacation with young families. You have no worries in terms of keeping it all spotless as you would in a rental house which is comparably priced. The housekeeping staff take care of all that. I was delighted to see so many families with younger kids this year. We've been there for 10 summers. Many others have been going longer. Our "front porch crew" are from all over the NY/NJ/PA area, but we and our children look forward to this every year. The staff from the front desk to the cleaning staff all know us and our kids. They and we look out for each other and the assorted children. If there were ever a problem with one of my children, I would trust anyone to tell me pronto. There are activities almost all day for the kids. A family "weenie roast" and bingo night too. The rooms are not luxurious, but the BEACH is fabulous so who wants more than a place to put your head down for the night anyway. We never turn on the TV. We just enjoy the time. Most of us wish the owners gave it much more TLC. It deserves it! But in the end we're all just glad it hasn't gone condo.
