Review of Club Wyndham Resort at Fairfield Bay 3*

We booked a 2 week stay for June To celebrate our Anniversary & Father's Day. Right when we walked in the 2 bedroom deluxe we were nearly knocked over by a musty damp smokey old odor. Made our lungs hurt, our eyes burn & our sinuses go crazy. Instant headaches. Spent most of our first day here airing out the place & cooking good smelling foods trying to make it better. Loved the massive mirrored deep whirlpool tub in our master bedroom. Used it every day. The bed in the master was very comfortable. The flagstone fireplace was very nice but it was very hot outside so we did not get to use it. My husband loved that there was a big flat screen TV in every room. We loved the wooded area off of the back deck & loved seeing all the deer, woodland creatures & birds come around. The trees are very shady & beautiful. The shower tub in the other bathroom was cracked & not useable so we were unable to shower & had to always use the massive tub in the master to get clean. One of the big burners on the stove did not work. I did not like all the noise a workman was making in the unit next to ours for several days. Sounded like he was tearing something out with a sledgehammer. We were visited one time by house keeping after being here a week. She was very nice & gave us fresh towels & restocked our paper towels & toilet paper. I liked being able to prepare & cook every meal we had while we were here & wash & dry our laundry right there in the kitchen too. The vacuum in the front closet was very old & did not work. It was a long drive to anywhere you might want to go. There was a small grocery store & a Dollar General where we shopped a few times to get things we needed & food & a gas station & store closer to the Marina where we bought fuel. Everything but Dollar General closes VERY early. If you need to pay for fuel with cash you better get it before 8:00pm. We had fun fishing at nearby lakes and caught a lot of really nice fish every day we were here. We were able to keep our boat with us on the trailer & charge the boat batteries using the outside outlet on the front master balcony & that made my husband very happy. It is a very big open & spacious unit. We stayed in Fairways 53.
