I stayed here this past weekend for a birthday and anniversary celebration. It's the same hotel we stayed at last year so we wanted to make it somewhat of a tradition and purchased the romance package. The hotel is in a great location and the newly renovated rooms are very nice. Our champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries made it to the room at the exact time that was requested. Unfortunately, there were a few things that made our visit a little less than stellar, this year. First, I'm not sure if it was because the A/C unit was so small, but the room was never cool the entire time we were there. Even when we would stay gone for hours, leave the curtains closed, all lights off, and the A/C set to 60°. Second, there was something on the corner of our blanket and one of the pillows that looked like a small, old, blood stain. Another thing that bothered me was that house keeping threw away an entire pizza that we had just purchased, when we left, so they could have time to clean. On the other hand, they left behind some old, cold, muffins that we had ordered from the kitchen for breakfast that morning. When I told someone at the front desk what had happened, they said Maybe they could cover our breakfast the next morning or Maybe they could put more points on my card, but they couldn't reimburse me for the pizza. I never received either of those things. Maybe I misread the details on the website, but after I got my final bill, I also noticed that breakfast for two was obviously not included in the romance package I had purchased because I had been charged. I never saw where a turndown service had been performed either night, even though that was something else that was supposed to be included with the romance package purchase. Finally, the romance package states that checkout is extended until 2:00 p. M. I even used the Marriott app to message an associate and double check, since I had obviously been wrong about so many other items I thought I had purchased. Why then, was housekeeping knocking on our door at 8:00 a. M.? I would be willing to give this Marriott another shot just because this particular one means something to us, but geez. Hopefully some changes are made before our anniversary next year.
