We came for a 3 day weekend, it was perfect! My son who loves to fish woke up every morning and went to the dock to fish (we had a dock in our back yard! Couldn’t have asked for a better spot! ) rooms are very well kept, comfy beds! I never did meet the owner but we spoke on the phone and she was very friendly and would go out of her way to accommodate you! we will definitely be coming back annually! This is located right in the middle of everything, perfect spot! Gorgeous views!

Beautiful, remodeled suite with full kitchen and balcony overlooking the lake. We came to celebrate our 30th anniversary and could not have chosen a better place during the “virus” summer. Beach and pool both! Very friendly staff! Clean and well maintained! We plan on returning with family!
Able to rent boats too! Close to every type of restaurant and entertainment!

I have no words to describe the great that I spend in this place, everything super clean, the staff super friendly from the moment you enter until you leave, the location is all comfortable in a vehicle, rooms prepared for you to have a good time and not have to leave and to large families, bbq, swimming pool, dock, equipped rooms and bathrooms, ice service (paying modico) safe and comfortable parking. I really recommend it and would return.

Wonderful staff, amazing location. Lakefront cabin had everything we needed and more! Had so much fun without ever leaving the property. Great price too!

This is a great place for a couples get away young and old. We stayed in the studio cabin for 3 nights. Full kitchen and grill. We were 10 to 15 to state parks and it has a great beach and boat rental sites all around and great restaurants with lake views. The office staff are so nice and helpful. Definitely recommend this place and it is affordable.

We stayed at Sunset Beach Resort over the Memorial Day Weekend — this was our first time. Joy (owner) worked extremely hard to make sure our needs were taken care of. The grounds and cabins were abolutely spotless! CLEAN! We loved it. Every morning I watched Joy walk the entire resort picking up trash, bottles, cans, and whatever else someone left on the ground. We HIGHLY recommend Sunset Beach Resort!

Enjoyed our visit and highly recommend to anyone looking for a family friendly place to stay. The room was large and very clean. It was very nice to be right on the lake. The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and the pool. Restaurants and shopping are minutes away.

Great location and easy going atmosphere, great for parties with friends or bringing the whole family along — Fido too!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! We've been coming to Sunset Beach Resort for 14 years for our BIG family vacation. Tom & Karen are great owners and very accommodating. The rooms are all nice, clean and comfortable. The resort is close to everything (road or water). DEFINITELY recommend it!

I recommend NOT staying here. The owners are super stricked and rude. A family member of mine got a ride back to the resort due to having a little too much to drink and they flipped a lid on them. They will charge you $10 a day if you have people come and just visit you. Ridiculous. I know we will never stay there again.

Had a wonderful time here! The staff was very nice, and knowledgeable about what was near. Pool hours are late as long as your being respectful. The view was entertaining, and it is located right next to Backwater Jacks (within walking distance). There's even a little gold cart that will take you in their back way you just have to walk down the back path towards the boat parking. I can't guarantee that they will see you but likey, and if you leave before closing they will take ya back to the resort on the cart.

Rooms are nice and fir it being a resort in a busy tourist town it was pretty peaceful.

The price for the stay was good and affordable through Priceline. The rooms were livable, but dated. The location is nice and pretty close to all the amenities of the area. There's also a Walmart within a five minute drive. I'd you're on a vacation with a limited budget this is a decent spot. We'd probably spend the extra money next time for more secure doors and floors that weren't sticky.

Been coming to this resort for about 10 years for family fishing trips. The owners take a lot of pride in their property and have been updating and renovating this place constantly. If you need a spot to get away from it all, you would be hard pressed to find a better location.

My boyfriend and I recently stayed here, in the newly remodeled Penthouse. It is absolutely gorgeous, inviting, and comfortable. It is a great location and right by the water, easily accessible boat docks (great for fishing too). We recommend Sunset Beach Resort and will be staying there again soon!

The best place to stay on the lake. Tom Karen and Randy are wonderful people.

I have been staying here for 23 yrs always great clean and reasonable.

This is a great little place to stay. We r n a 2 bedroom 1 bath unit. Only downside is right across the street from Backwater Jacks… can be a little loud but A/C in the unit drowns out most of the outside noise. Decent beach area to swim in and pool is nice.

We just came back from a couple days vacation at Sunset Beach Resort. The best restful vacation had in a long time. Great place, clean cabins, great people. We will be back for sure.

Spent the weekend at this resort and loved it! Was right on the water with a sandy beach and they also have a very nice pool. The cabin was perfect for us. Has everything you need and more. The view was beautiful. The owners, Karen and Tom make you feel right at home and take very good care of their quests. We have already booked the same cabin for Labor Day weekend. Highly recommend this resort to anyone!

Are family just rented the 3 bedroom we had 8 people and we were very comfortable! We had a great time the place was wonderful it was so nice cooking and watching kids play in the pool and going to the beach and watching all the big boats! We have found are new vacation spot truly had a great time thanks again Karen for being so helpful it was a fun place can't wait till next year!

Karen is racist, rude, and harass you at you're door. The beds have bed bugs and she will tell you that they have been cleaned, and the bathroom is rusty and outdated. It costs to have guests $10 and hour. You have to pay for each person to stay in the room, and she a drunkie and she watches you're every move like a stalker it was horrible.

The rooms were muggy and smelled like outside. The bed had bedbugs. Karen the manager was drunk and smoked even though it said no smoking signs. She was very rude as well. I would not stay at this place it was not a good experience.

Horrible horrible horrible! Karen the owner two thumbs down! I don't know how this business survives with her being so rude and the place being soooooo outdated. This place is pure raunchy & they know it. Dirty, bedbugs, gloomy, very small. Don't do it! #

Second time staying here. Very pleased with the staff. Clean room and a perfect get away spot. Would highly recommend a stay.

My husband, kids and I spent our Lake of the Ozarks vacation at Sunset Beach Resort this past June. We had a fantastic time! If you want to relax on a cozy inlet on the lake with no one to bother you, this is the place to stay. Our cabin included a fully stocked kitchen, a private patio 25 feet from the lake, a picnic table and a charcoal grill. The cabin was freshly cleaned and immaculate when we arrived for our stay. The five of us were able to sleep comfortably with plenty of room to spare. There is no housekeeping service, so you have to walk up to the office between the hours of 9:00 a. M. And 11:00 a. M. To pick up clean towels and extra rolls of toilet paper. This was not a problem for us at all, however. We actually prefer that over housekeepers banging on the door in the mornings! The owners, Tom and Karen, were very nice and stopped by to say hello and to make sure everything was okay for our stay. We would definitely come back to Sunset Beach Resort again. It's not a fancy high-rise resort, but you will feel the stress melt away as you enjoy your get-away on the lake.

AWSOME place to stay! Great price Karen is awesome! Not a five star resort but an AWSOME way to get on the lake.

"beware"do not do a long term lease agreement, with a security deposit, because you will not get it back. Karen the owner, will lie and say one thing and do something else.

The worst place I have ever been, room was old and needed a good cleaning, rented a bass boat broke down out in the middle of lake. And when I finally got back to marina. The guy running the marina was a jerk. Even his coworker agreed with me that his attitude sucked. Never go there, I mean never you will be sorry.

Not exactly updated, but they leave you to yourself and its great access to the lake and boat rentals are walking distance.

This was the terribilist thing that ive ever stayed at and nobody should EVER stay there.
