Long time support for. Dh. New respect for peeps. My daughter left her boots in the parking lot and to my surprise someone turned turned them in. Mad love.

We had our daughters wedding here last week. It was a great experience. The rooms are outdated, but the views and outdoor space were spectacular! The staff was very helpful and courteous. They made sure we were taken care of and offered any assistance needed. The food was delicious. The venue space flowed so well with an extra large reception hall, out door terrace and fire-pit for all to enjoy. This enabled our guests to feel comfortable and enjoy the space however they would like.

Well. How to start. I've been here an hr. The room smells like mold. Pulled the air conditioner out of the wall and it's full of mold. And the bathrooms got a pile of worms in it. I have pictures. I've stayed in cockroach Joe dirt motels nicer than this shithole.

Love this place. Great park, fun staff and bars around the resort.

An awful experience from start to finish. Staff and managers do not care at all.

Absolutely terrible. We will never be back to this place. Bought out tickets online ahead of time ($60ish a ticket), we arrive and there are 3 charter busses full of people, hardly anyone is wearing a mask, they aren't limiting the number of tickets sales so not only are the lift lines about an hour or more long just to do a 5 min run but also they are still selling more tickets! An employee said that on a normal Saturday they sell about 2000 tickets, today before noon, they had already sold more than 5000 and still counting. The ticket line was well over 2 hours to wait to get tickets and that was at noon today when we said screw this and the lift lines and left. They have a complete disregard for the pandemic and any sort of social distancing and mask enforcement. This is the worst and most careless place I have ever been to.

The lack of masks indoors was shocking. Employees weren’t wearing them either. My daughter didn’t want to eat after seeing that cook not wearing a mask. We waited an hour in a crowded room to get her rentals. I would say maybe half the people wore masks. I asked an employee who wasn’t a kid, aren’t masks required? He said they are and then winked at me. What was that? I took as we put up the signs but don’t enforce it at all. Cascade and Tyrol Basin have done an amazing job on safety. I don’t understand how Devils Head can’t. I feel like they just don’t want to. I was beyond disappointed.

Went skiing at Devils Head on New Years Eve. Absolutely appalled by the lack of covid precautions: way too crowded, zero attempt to ask visitors to wear masks inside (shocking number were not), employees were not all wearing masks, understaffed — it took an hour of waiting inside in a long, tight line of people (many not wearing masks) to get rental equipment, rental helmets were not sanitized in any way between users, and the indoor bar spaces were packed with people unmasked. It is no wonder the virus continues to spread rapidly when business owners like Devils Head behave in such a reckless and dangerous manner. Do not visit.

Super high prices. Horrible customer serivce. Well more like no customer service. It was so horribly organized and laid out with lack of staff or signage to give you a sense of where to go. Had to wait an hour to get skis worst experiance ever.

Handicap "accessible" is a laugh and a half. Went for a wedding and this is the their wheelchair "accessible" room. The shower drain pipe sticks up a half inch above the drain hole of the shower, which has a three inch lip that requires assistance over. The drain cover just sits lazily on this pipe, which was cut at an angle, and will easily flip off if stood on. If you aren't able bodied, this resort doesn't want you to come.

Went for a golf outing. One course was in much better shape than the other but for the price the whole trip was a great deal. They however need to fix their prices because all of their drinks are overpriced. Food was included in the golf package and dinner and lunch was great.

A solid little resort that's showing its age in a couple of places with 2 golf courses that are also very solid but a bit rough around the edges (no pun intended). The resort itself is clean and functional. The rooms are simple, also clean and serve as a good place to crash but are not the kind of rooms you'd want to spend much time in. The restaurant is surprisingly good, not great with a decent selection of different foods without trying to go overboard. There is an indoor and outdoor pool, which I've never used but seem to be enjoyed by those who do. The in-house bar is large and they make good drinks. A little lacking in atmosphere. The staff throughout the resort are generally very good and receptive. We golf here every year and the courses have the potential to be very good. The layouts are good and the views are great in certain places, but the maintenance is what lets them down. Some of the tees and greens are in fairly poor shape. Some are great! However, they're not at the expense-point where you feel you've been hard done by. You'll have noticed a theme throughout this review… That the place is solid but unspectacular. Just about every facet of the resort fits that description. We come here every year for a golf weekend and look forward to it. You can't go wrong here. Unless you're expecting spectacular.

No refrigerator in room. Bedding is flar and old. Rooms smells like mold and we got soar throats. They had a wedding so none of the restaurants were serving their menu… honestly how do you have a resort and not have food offerings!?!? It's just an old old resort and zero effort has been made to update it. The front desk staff was super amazing and nice, so this is NOT a staff issue… this comes down to owners pocketing profit instead of investing in their business. Golfing is however beautiful!

We had our daughters wedding reception at Devil's Head this past weekend. We worked with Melissa in Group Sales. Melissa certainly deserves a 5 star rating. What a wonderful person to work with! Everything went very smoothly and was exactly like we had planned it. We received many compliments from our guests on the quality and taste of the food. The wait staff was very courteous and professional. The timing of everything from lighting of our candle decorations, to the serving of the meal and pie, to clearing of the tables was perfect. What a beautiful place to have a reception! The only criticism we heard from our guests was on the motel rooms. They are rather old and dated. It would be nice if Devils Head could replace the mattresses and get new TV's. Overall, I would definitely recommend Melissa and Devil's Head for wedding receptions!

It is definitely very adequate, but I wouldn't say nice. Rooms are a bit older and a bit run down. And there is a lounge to sit and watch the people in the pool which feels really creepy to me. No real complaints though!

Great accommodations in a rustic Ski Lodge setting twin 18 hole golf courses where in excellent condition. Staff and servers were excellent. Had to breakfast buffet style was good two dinners where excellent great quality freshness and portion size was large.

Never returning. This review is for the accommodations only we have not skied here or golfed. This place was probably pretty cool in 1970. This is the worst rundown hotel I have ever stayed in. It is extremely obvious that the owner does not take pride in this place anymore. The first room we were put in had ants crawling all over so they switched rooms for us luckily. I still couldn't get comfortable in there because everything is so run down and not properly taken care of. There were leftover items from the previous occupants and also bobby pins and small items laying on the floor. Once we got in the room I said okay, grab a beer from our cooler we are going for a walk because I cant sit in here. This showed us more of the run down building. The hot tub is laughable. You could probably fit three adults in the hot tub, and you better be comfortable with them. I am just stumped at all of these good reviews, maybe I need to see this place in the winter. But I won't. I will say the location is great, it is one mile away from Parfreys Glen and Devil's Lake is nearby.

Loved it! Amazing landscaping and well kept golf courses! Can not wait to be able to go back. Liked so much played 54 holes in one day!

Wonderful cozy place for events such as a wedding, lovely views of the outdoors, they have TV in room along with mini fridge, coffee maker, tea, and a very comfortable bed. They also have a fitness room, a huge pool, and two whirlpools, 2 golf courses and many restaurants, and a wonderful friendly staff. I consider this a luxury cozy style romantic resort to get away from the day to day life stresses at very affordable prices.

Do you like skiing or snowboarding? If so you will love this resort. Ample chutes to ski or snowboard to your hearts desire. The chutes are well groomed and kept up with regularly. You can rent or purchase equipment here as well as rent a room if you wish. The resort offers a full resteraunt / cafeteria area which is priced at tourist rates. However the food is good and you can view the chutes from the dining area.

Main entrance really feels like a grand mountain resort. A bonfire is always roasting for you to warm up by. The people that come out here are respectful. I've been around 20-30 times and I always enjoy myself. Wonderful beginner slope that stretches for a long length so you don't have to hassle with magic carpets and tow ropes. You just go up and focus on what matters most… learning how to get down. I've had any people learn here and I really recommend it. Its away from the highway (as compared to cascade) so you really get to feel like you're away from it all. I've stayed with a package with all the meals included and it is amazing. You could slide down and get right to the door of your hotel. Eat food, take a nap, maybe hit the hot tub and go back up for the night. Really wonderful. They also have group one from time to time so it never hurts to check!

Probably the best ski area in southern Wisconsin. They have a pretty even spread of run difficulties. The chairs are perhaps a bit longer than average down the middle of the hill, but the chairs serving the edges of the hill are quick enough to do a few more laps. I would say that the black diamond runs are a bit flat if it wasn't for the blacks on the edges of the resort which pitch a bit steeper than the ones down the middle, though the steepest terrain on the east side is not open during night skiing. Additionally, the fact that the hill faces south does mean that the snow really gets cooked during spring skiing, making the middle of the hill very slow, which limits the choices for advanced skiers, but it also means that ice gets broken down earlier in the day and at colder temperatures than north-facing ski hills. The base facilities are a bit older, but they have a good variety of options, so they do a good job of supporting the needs of most skiers. The fact that they have nights with special deals is an added bonus.

This is my favorite weekend destination from the Chicago area. Cascade gets too crowded, but that's never a problem here. Lifts are a bit slow, but that's ok. Hotel rooms at both the Inn and the lodge are "well used" and could use a renovation about 10 years ago. I would not feel happy paying half of what they cost had this been a regular hotel in town, but the convenience of having a room to warn up and change in right next to the lifts makes the cost tolerable. Sound travels very easily so make sure to ask for a quiet area in case there are parties rolling through. Even though the rooms are less than great, the staff is very friendly and courteous.

And go somewhere else please. Talked to employees, fellow skiers, ski patrol and all are kind, helpful and there to work or have a good time. And new skiers please do yourself and everyone on the hill a great service and take a ski lesson. Instructors are great. You don't go down the road in a car without knowing how to drive. Everything is more fun when you know how to do it.

Came here on a balmy 50 degree day and wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. For such a warm day it wasn't icy but was more of a snow cone consistency which made the snow very grippy and easy to carve. Soft to wipe out on. Been here a dozen times when I used to live in Madison and still enjoyed the blacks on the far right for having a good variety. Even the double black on the far end wasn't icy, which was a surprise. They moved the park and jumps to the left this year which I feel is better placement since ice patches used to form between the park and jumps before. Overall had a great time and would definitely still recommend to friends in the area.

Devil's Head is one of the best ski resorts in the Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin area. I personally like the wide variety of options available for skill levels and preferences when it comes to riding. It's a great place to take experienced riders or first timers. First timers can start out on the magic carpets and then move one run over to take their first lift to a longer green/beginner run. Service all around the park, including bartenders, lift operators, and ski patrol are very friendly and helpful. Compared to parks in the area such as Cascade, Alpine Valley, Tyrol Basin, and Chestnut, this is my favorite.

Great hills. Staff was pretty friendly. Loved the $16 lift ticket on Thursday night. I went on almost every run. None of them very steep or challenging. I liked that the runs we're wide open, long, and had mostly consistent grades that way I could practice my carving. I would go again on a Thursday night and hopefully next time I go the park will be open. They don't really check life tickets so I know a decent amount of people of skip buying one. Would I say it's the best skiing in Wisconsin? Probably not. It's also not the worst. I would definitely go again on a Thursday night.

I am livid with this place! This is our first and last time here. They just put my family and kids in danger. We checked-in right around midnight. It's late at night, everything is dark and we're trying to find our lodge. The roads are not well marked and we wondered off into the ski return area, which is when we realized we needed to turn around. A snow groomer saw us and decided to drive straight at us! We were stopped in our tracks, honked loud and hard, and he kept coming! My husband veered off to avoid collision. When I called to complain at the front desk, there's no manager on duty but the kid at the front desk seems to think it's acceptable that the groomer came at us and put my family at risk. His explanation is that we were off the road and the driver did not know if we were drunk. But we were stopped in our tracks, we honked to alert him we saw the snow groomer coming straight at us, and he made no effort to acknowledge or stop. What would have happened if we had not veered off to avoid collision? Would he have continued? Is this standard protocol? This is completely unacceptable.

Our Family has made this trip multiple times, Devil's head is by far the best bargain when looking for skiing in the northern Midwest region. We booked it on our way up there and had no issues. We stayed in the lodge and the room was plenty big enough for 5 people. Slopes we're great and not busy at all mid week. We chose the midweek ski and stay package. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future.

Best ski hill in the area. Facilities are dated and food overpriced.

Staff was very accommodating and friendly for our off season event. Rooms were clean and the food was to our expectations.

Stayed here for a wedding. The event space was nicely done and the reception food was good. The accommodations in the Lodge are lack luster. There were dead bugs on the TV stand/dresser, windows haven't been cleaned in near 15 years. The resort is in a great location but soooo outdated and "cold". Wouldn't stay again.

We were there for a wedding everything looked nice the food was good and the event went well. The rooms and hotel area were out dated and needs to be remodeled. Needs some money put into it to make it worth while to go back.

We were there for golf. Great course set up. Picturesque views. Course conditions were good but not great but will still be back.

This is where I learned to ski when I was 15, and it's where I learned to snow board at 47. Love it. Food is a bit pricey though. The lodge could use some fixing up too.

Dated resort that needs improvement. The workout room was a joke. Nice that they have indoor/outdoor pools at least. Staff was friendly. The buffet brunch is skippable.

The inn at Devil's Head is very affordable, but showing some age. The location is very convenient for visiting Devil's Lake. I don't play golf, but there is a golf course available at the resort.

The rooms were not the best, the cellular reception is non-existent which is something I can easily live with, but the internet was so slow, it made me wish I could use my cellular data instead. I stayed in the Inn section and it looks very run down, still uses the old, big TVs from the past; in fact, it was the first hotel I stayed at in over 3 years that hadn't upgraded to a flat screen TV. The description of the place made it seem like it was a wonderful resort, and it was a nice location; however, all feeling were removed as soon as I got in the building I was staying in as it looked very run down. The main lodge area looked nice, but I didn't see any rooms there to make an opinion.

We went to Devil's Head for a wedding and reception. It was a beautiful location and the staff were very friendly and professional. The only complaint I have is parking is not well signed so it's a bit difficult to find where you're going.

Not very up to date. I'm sure it's fine if you are a golfer or skier but prob not the best choice to just stay as a family if you don't do either of the above. Pool area was outdated, dimly lit and the pool water was extremely cold. Outdoor pool area was nice looking but it was too chilly outside when we were there to swim unfortunately. Rooms were decent but TV's are not flat screens/HD and were extremely blurry. Shower head needed to be replaced. Beautiful scenery — would be picturesque in the fall I'm sure, but beware, it's a ways "out there". Service was friendly. Food was good at the restaurants on-site and it had a nice looking pro shop. Oh, almost forgot, don't be fooled by the "fitness room". I'm guessing as a ski/golf resort not a lot of people would use this anyway, but it consisted of 1 stationary bike, a TV on the wall, which wasn't plugged in because the cord didn't even reach the outlet (?!?! ) And a multi-purpose machine in which EVERY CABLE WAS BROKEN so it was literally useless. It was so bad it was funny. Anyway I hate being negative with reviews as this place wasn't terrible and has some good points but just wasn't what our family was hoping or expecting.

Great place to go! Clean rooms, nice staff, gorgeous views, wonderful activities! I did have some issues, though, like when asking for coffee for my room at the front desk, the lady asked my room number and when I had a hard time remembering it (late night the night before), she asked my last name kind of rudely as if she needed to verify my identity but did not do so. Asked for coffee condiments (cream and sugar) and I was told they don't keep those at the front desk. What sense does that make? They need to update the rooms and change the carpeting as well as painting the interior a more bright, inviting color. I'm not a complainer, but huge stains in the carpets don't look good and dark brown in the hallways can make it feel oppressive. They also need to fix the tennis courts and do some landscaping. Wi-Fi signal could also be stronger (T-Mobile customers do not get signal here). Otherwise, I really am enjoying the place!

Great place to ski/snowboard for Chicagoans who cannot get out East or West to the larger mountains. There is only one true beginner slope, about four intermediate slopes, and then several high-intermediate/advanced slopes. We have a great time whenever we go because it's affordable, and just challenging enough for us new-ish skiers/snowboarders.

The resort is decent for what you can find in the Midwest. The vertical isnt that great, but there are quite a few runs to choose from. I really wish they would install some high speed lifts. The lodge is decently sized and they allow outside food.

I've been to devils head before and quite enjoyed myself. But our experience this week was less than ideal. Upon arriving, we had to switch rooms because ours did not have a patio, as was requested and promised. Once in our new room, we discovered our heater wasn't working, so we switched rooms again. This really cut into our ski time. As it turned out, though, that wasn't a huge hindrance, as there was only one lift open on the whole mountain, so we ended up doing the same 3 slow, boring runs all day. Not worth our money at all. It's okay, though, because all the while we were looking forward to a delicious steak dinner that evening. We come inside around 6pm, and we're informed that the Cornucopia restaurant would not open that evening. Keep in mind, this restaurant is the ONLY option for guests. We were told instead to go upstairs to the cafeteria, which was supposed to be open until 9. When we walked upstairs around 6:10, there was a girl putting chairs on the tables already, glaring at us. She seemed annoyed to when we ordered 2 burgers and an order of mozzarella sticks, and she handed us 2 burgers and had to go "find the chef. " The burgers had huge chunks of salt in the meat, but at this point we were desperate. After refueling (kind of), we went back on the mountain for some night skiing, when the POWER WENT OUT. On the hill. So it's pitch black on the trails. We could have gotten seriously hurt if we weren't experienced skiers and riders.

Seems to be one of the great place for you to go and enjoy Skiing or Snowboarding. They have plenty of slopes for all skill rangers can enjoy from easiest to expert slope in addition to some park terrain slope where you can do tricks and jumps. The admission fee seems relatively good price, but you may have to pay extra if you wish to rent the equipment. Highly recommended for anyone who wish to enjoy some winter sports!

Definitely the best place to hit the slopes near Chicago land. The runs are great and the crowds are much smaller than everywhere else. The only complaint is the resort is getting pretty dated.

The rooms were dated and had tube tvs in it. The whole place had a mildew smell to it. Carpet had stains all over it and the mattress was terrible. Needs a remodel. The bad thing about it there trying to get top dollar for the room. It's double price what they want for the room than it really worth.

We attended the resort for a family reunion last weekend. The rooms were quite pricey considering the mattresses were very soft and bedspread very worn. The bathroom sink very outdated. Shower was ok. No screens on windows so had to use AC which was loud. Had the buffet breakfast at $27 for two of us and nothing was hot and fresh it seemed and servers only came by once to ask if we wanted anything. The bar at night was VERY loud music and staff stood around just talking and not one bit friendly. Check in and out was ok. Hallways dark and gloomy and no elevators which we were not told when we reserved.

Rooms were outdated and in disrepair. We had a leak in the ceiling whenever the unit above was taking a shower. Rest of the resort was fine, there were a few fun little bars and the slopes seemed well maintained. Would not stay overnight again though.

Place reeked like weed. Girl passed out at noon in the hallway my two year old walked by her. People fighting yelling in hallway service sucked the whole place is outdated and overpriced. Service sucked hills not that good. Place used to be awesome about ten years ago it has went way downhill. They need to do something because it's overpriced garbage beer cans everywhere step it up what's the point to drive down that little road for 20 min to go to a dump lol.

Horrible spent well over 700 dollars for a ski trip after getting done skiing went to eat at the resort the food was over priced spent 37 dollars for 2 cheeseburger 2 cokes and fries the food was cold asked for a refund the cashier didn't know how to refund the money on the pos system they use. Asked to speak with a manager none was there on a tuesday afternoon. Left number to call when they got in no phone call. Called wednesday left message not call back called again still no call back. Just a joke I wouldnt go there again. If you want to waste your money go to the casino instead …

We skied here today after buying tickets on liftopia, we spent a total of $58.00 for the 2 of us to ski. Today is Thursday and it was a bit chilly and windy but going skiing when there are only 60 other skiers on the mountain is pretty epic. Might mention we spent $107.00 at Cascade yesterday and didn't have as much fun. We had a great time today. I love it From Madison it is only 15 minutes farther than going to Cascade. We like both but It was nice to ski somewhere else for a change. Try it you might just like it, GREAT staff.

Day was nice not too crowded. My issue was with one lift operator at the top of one of the runs. He was constantly putting people at risk of serious injury by not stopping the lift when people feel off it. I was lucky to avoid most of the fallen people at the bottom but in one instance I was not. I had no where to turn as there were two people to the right of me on the lift and the fallen person was right in my lane. I did my best to avoid her but ended up hitting her and falling on top of her. I then yelled at the lift operator for not stopping the lift when there are people strewn across the ground in the unloading zone. Luckily no one got hurt but then the girls brother started snowboarding very aggressively and kept turning into and hitting my board when I went down the run because of what happened to his sister.

My friends and I go on a snowboarding trip every year to lodge and snowboard. Being college kids we did not have high expectations of the lodging, we really just cared about the hill, and that's what you will get with Devil's Head. We went up with the midweek ski and stay package, which was a great price. Stayed in the suite and snowboarded for two days. The suite room was just okay. Remind you, we're all in college so a sub-par living condition is fine by us. There were bugs throughout the room, and it had a little smell to it. The room is outdated, the TV might have been older than me, and the old furniture made it that much worse. It was a fine size for the group we were accommodating (5). It was nice to be able to practically snowboard into our room off the hill. The hill is great on the other hand. A lot of fun runs for people of all skill types. I have been to various slopes in the area and this one was my favorite. The slopes did not get crowded at all during our stay which made it that much better. I may stay at Devil's Head again sometime, hopefully taking their new homes with a big group. But come to Devil's Head for the snowboarding, and stay because you have to.

Devil's Head was a great experience for my group of friends and I. The condo we stayed in was beautiful, minus the mouse that had gotten in the basement. The resort was quick to send someone out to help, and we ended up catching it in a trap they left. They also reimbursed us $100 and gave all 9 of us free lift tickets for a day because of that. The food was great and staff members were very helpful and nice. Would definitely stay here again!
