We had the most amazing time there. Our group booked up the whole place and did a fabulous murder mystery dinner that the owners put together for us. It was absolutely perfect! The owners are so sweet and helpful and made our stay amazing. The party was great! The rooms were perfect for our group, spacious and quiet. Very cozy. My husband and I stayed in the Franklin Suite and loved the tub. The Turret Suite is gorgeous! (our friends stayed there). The other 2 rooms had absolutely no complaints and were perfect too, but can't compete with the whirlpool tubs. ;) I highly recommend contacting them about hosting the murder mystery party. They have 10 options to choose from and help with everything in preparation. They really made our stay special and took amazing care of each and every one of our guests!

Definitely booking a room again with Lori and Keith. Welcoming, clean, and the blueberry French toast strudel was out of this world! A++ for this B&B!

We spent a lovely quiet New Year's Eve here. My husband had found this place online and surprised me with the trip. The room was cozy and warm. I absolutely loved the decor. Michael was so happy with the ceiling fan, as he needs to sleep with a fan on! The breakfast was amazing, anf the owners are wonderful people that we can't wait to visit with again! We are already discussing futute plans to come back, and we want to explore Appleton more.

My Husband & I stayed at the B&B the night of our wedding & a few nights after for our "Mini Moon"! We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about our stay we booked an extra night!
Comfortable bed, clean room/bathroom, friendly service, & delish breakfast (which they made extra special for me, no gluten, since I have celiac.
I would recommend this romantic getaway to ANYONE! We are from the area & we are already planning another visit!

I needed a place to stay and all the mainstream hotel chains in Appleton were booked up, so I started looking at alternatives. I found this charming B&B close to my business meeting and took a chance. I was not disappointed. I was warmly welcomed by owner Keith, had a good night’s stay, and a delightful breakfast before I had to return to work. Keith and Lori are warm and personable and, at my invitation, Keith shared the history of the inn and what life as a B&B operator is like. I look forward to the opportunity to return again soon.

Lori and Keith Hansen, owners and hosts of the Franklin Street Inn, are wonderful! They made us feel right at home, friendly and easy to be with immediately. They respected our privacy, yet welcomed our questions and gave information about the lovely town of Appleton, Wisconsin. The rooms were inviting, beautifully decorated, and immaculately clean. The cooked breakfasts were delicious, and they willingly shared recipes. They thought of everything, including cold and hot drinks throughout the day and night. The front porch was a delight as well, with 19th century charm. We were encouraged to sit and relax there anytime we wished. The in-room whirlpool in our suite was an added bonus that we both enjoyed! We wish we could have stayed longer, and though their Inn is far from our home, we plan to return someday soon. We recommend Lori, Keith, and the Franklin Street Inn highly to all!

We traveled to Appleton for a recent family event. We had a lovely stay at the Franklin Street Inn. The owners had so much information for local events and were very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfast was wonderful and the house was absolutely beautiful. Before our family event, our rental car would not start. The owner tried to jump the car but it still did not start. The owner held our bags for us so we could uber to the event and handled the tow service that the rental company set up for us. They definitely go above and beyond. This made our day go smoothly. I would recommend this B and B to anyone looking to stay in the Fox Valley area. Thank you!

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying in this unique B & B. The owners were very courteous and the stay was excellent. We rented the Franklin Room and the accommodations were great. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a double whirlpool tub! The location is just a couple of blocks from College Ave, so we were within walking distance to many great restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. We took advantage of the location and completed a Craft Beer Walk. The breakfasts that we were served were extremely delicious (If I could rate the breakfasts, I would give them 5 stars as well). We got to tour the house and any of the rooms would have been satisfactory. If you have a large group of people, there's a room on the 3rd level that can sleep 7. We will be visiting the Franklin Street Inn again in the future and I hope they don't change a thing. Thank you Keith and Lori!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Franklin Street Inn B & B. It was perfect for our weekend get away. The room was beautiful, clean and well maintained. The whirl pool tub was great to relax in and it was complimented by the fireplace. The owners were kind and fun to talk to and breakfast was delicious. It was the same price for a hotel room but much nicer, more welcoming and fun. I would recommend staying here to anyone who is looking to spend time in Appleton and needs a place to stay, to relax and enjoy and meet some new people. Thumbs way up!

We had a great one-night stay. We wish it could have been longer. The Inn was comfortable. We had breakfast delivered to our room and it was excellent. The Inn is conveniently located to the PAC, Lawrence University, and a variety of wonderful nearby restaurants. We were very satisfied with our stay and recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful relaxing place to get away.

My wife and I stayed at the Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast for a night in January 2018. Overall impressions were phenomenal. Keith and Lori were perfectly cordial and provided us with outstanding service and privacy our entire stay. The house has been restored beautifully. The history and architecture were definitely memorable, and the entire house is extremely well kept. Our room was the same way. Everything was of high quality (including the pillows! They had a MyPillow for each of us! ). Everything was done exactly when they told us it would be (coffee set out upon our request, breakfast at a certain time etc. ) Breakfast was unique and delicious. Keith and Lori went out of their way to make something that we both enjoyed and had never had before. I believe they also host some events such as murder mystery parties and other fun group activities! We both would highly recommend staying here!

So charming! We took my mom here for her 80th birthday. We had fun playing charades in the parlor. Later that day we walked to an Italian restaurant, looking at ice sculptures along the way. The rooms were beautiful. We stayed in the Rhodes and Lawrence rooms. Breakfast was relaxing and delicious. We loved it here and plan to stay again.

I wanted to do something really special for myself for my 40th birthday last May. I booked a room here and I could not have been more pleased. It turned out I was the only guest that night and I felt completely spoiled. Breakfast I the morning was amazing and very satisfying. I have plans to stay at a B&B for the rest of my birthdays and I wouldn't be surprised if I booked a room here again!

The owners are a pleasure to be around and love to tell you everything there is to know about the building.

We had an amazing time on Saturday night for the Bachelorette party. We did a murder mystery with a catered dinner and Keith and Lori did a great job making us feel like we were family when we got there. It was really all of the little touches that made us feel like we welcomed, from the beds being set up, comfortable beds, water bottles in the mini fridge, mints on the bed, Keurig coffee maker, and the attention to detail to everything in the B&B. You can tell that this is more than a job to them.

Wow! I could just end it there but no… this is a must stay if you are in the area! You will be treated like royalty. We just left from a Bachelorette party and everything from the food to the murder mystery to the super soft and snugly beds was perfect. Thank you so much for having us and I can't wait to come back!

The building exterior and room are as shown on the website. We only stayed 1 day. We had issues with our room's (the "Rhodes" room) bed — it was soft and noisy (loud thunk when getting in or out) ; and our breakfast was not made the way We requested (we requested no peppers and that's all they put in our omelettes). Positives are that the parking is off street and the owner gave us some good local suggestions. In reply to our comment card we filled out, he sent me a nice note informing me that he has found and fixed the cause of the bed noise. He also said they would look into replacing the mattress down the road. I would check to see before reserving the Rhodes room.

Very welcoming and personable. The owners make you feel right at home and treat you like a person, not a number on the wall. Breakfast is always phenomenal! I was always satisfied. She was thinking of booking a hotel nearby the Appleton Performing Arts Center for convenience but I wanted something a little more intimate and private. I was planning on proposing to her at the Boyz II Men concert she had begged me to see with her. Seeing that this B&B was just a short walk from the PAC I thought it would be a perfect place to stay. I made the call in mid January and spoke with Keith who was professional, courteous and very informative of all that Franklin Street Inn had to offer. I splurged for the extra "Romance Package" they offer for some Roses, chocolates and "champagne" to be placed in our room. The expectation was set that this was a great choice & they definitely delivered! After checking in we were given a brief tour, then given our privacy to get ready for our evening. While my now fiancé finished getting ready for what was to be a magical evening, I let Keith know of my plans to propose. He offered to help any way he could to make the event more memorable. We left for our dinner reservations before the concert. He helped with a few photos of us. Concert was great, proposal went perfectly and needless to say… she said YES! When we returned to Franklin Street Inn that evening Keith had switched our champagne to chilled Sparkling Cider as I had mentioned to him earlier that we do not drink alcohol.

We stayed with Judy and Ron Halma for 13 days in May while we searched for a house to buy. We were successful. The Inn is a perfect respite. It has been fabulously restored by the Halmas and furnished with an amazing array of antiques. The breakfasts were fabulous, though we only ate on the weekends, and Judy has published two cookbooks of her recipes. We highly recommend staying here — it is a few short blocks to College Avenue and its great shopping. The Fox River is just beyond, with the campus of Lawrence University nearby. Don't delay! Make a reservation!

I stayed here last autumn while I was moving back for college. The room was beautiful, and the care put into making guests feel welcome at breakfast is truly amazing, not to mention the hostess is an amazing chef!

I travel a lot for work and make a point of staying at independent places like Franklin Street Inn whenever possible. This place is among the best I've stayed at. Loved the spacious room and hot tub, delicious breakfast, free Wi-Fi and the easy access to all the fun stuff in downtown Appleton.

We live in Appleton but wanted to enjoy the pampering of a B&B for a romantic getaway. What a delight. My wife and I fell in love with the ambiance of the old victorian mansion. We love houses with character. The room was immaculate. We don't have a fireplace in our house so that became an instant hit. The Franklin Street Inn made for a perfect romantic stay.

This beautiful Victorian Inn was a perfect place for a romantic night away. It was incredibly easy to walk to a nice dinner and enjoy an evening out in downtown Appleton. The room was spacious, yet had a cozy feel. At the end of the day we were able to cuddle up next to a warm fire and enjoy some peace and quiet. The hot tub was a nice touch too.

My husband and I stayed here for a romantic get away recently. The breakfast was amazing! The rooms were very clean! The hospitality of the hosts was wonderful. I would definitely go back!
