Loved everything about this hotel especially the location. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful especially Adriana and the concierge, too.

The location is awesome. Every staff member we came across was so helpful and nice! The valet was great. They helped load and unload our car. The rooftop bar was neat with awesome views! Highly recommend this hotel.

A group of friends and I went to have a spa day there thanksgiving weekend and had the worst experience. The lady at the front desk was great but every other worker was terrible. They were all very rude, we felt rushed and did not like any of our services. For what they charge you’d think it would be pleasant but it was everything but that. Highly recommend finding somewhere else.

Great check-in experience with the Front Desk Supervisor, Dave Williams. He went out of his way to make my brother’s 60th birthday extra special. We arrived several hours before check-in and decided to have Brunch and drinks in the restaurant while we waited. Mr. Williams came to the restaurant a couple of hours later to let us know our rooms were ready AND presented my brother with a 60th birthday card. That was one of the nicest things I’ve ever experienced at a hotel…. And I have the highest level of status with several hotel chains including Marriott. TheWit will always be my go to hotel when I visit for work and pleasure.

The food was great. The music was also great! what I liked the most was that the diversity was on point.

Great location… shopping and Eating! The Roof Top at the Hotel has the best hotel bar with good drinks, music and food!

Head Concierge was working the front desk he a dynamic guy. Great customer service and really cares about the customers comfort & enjoyment. I was there doing a Massage for a Client.

My family and I decided to do a mini getaway, and we ended up here. Not knowing what to expect during this time of quarantine… but we were pleasantly surprised! as soon as we arrived we were greeted by valet he was very knowledgeable and very polite! after entering the hotel we were greeted by Eric at the front desk, (this guy is Amazing) he was very welcoming very knowledgeable just overall a good guy which in a time like this is very refreshing he pretty much was our on-premise tour guide. Everything that he recommended was a plus and whatever we needed he was right there to deliver (even with his mask and gloves)! our room was very clean and well put together with a beautiful view I would definitely stay here again!

Great bar tender, nice atmosphere.

Locates right on the corner. Easy access to valet and public transportation. Beautiful view of not only Lake Michigan but also the Chicago River, both of which are in walking distance. Skillfully decorated lobby and hallways. I like the security feature on the elevators that only allow guest up to varies floors at night with room key access. And the sounds of nature and ocean music playing on the hallways was a nice touch.

We were greeted upon entry. Although we arrived early they were happy to accommodate us by allowing us to check in before the allotted time. We were placed on the 18 floor where we were able to see the river. Upon entering our room the staff immediately checked in to make sure we were satisfied with our accommodation. They were knowledgeable about the city and never failed to assist us in getting to our next destination. I loved my stay and can't wait to go back.

Get a corner room! This place was amazing. The staff was helpful and welcoming. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was great. I can't say enough good things about it. I would definitely stay here again. Photo is the view from my room.

We recently stayed for three nights at theWit. We had a great time here. The room was nice and clean. The view was great. We did get a corner room, which was an upgrade over the standard room, but we'll worth it if you enjoy a view of the city below. We gave the rooftop restaurant a go as well. It was pretty nice. We went on a Sunday evening so it was pretty dead, which is more our speed, but it looked pretty lively on Friday and Saturday evening. The location was perfect for two middle aged tourists. Close to the blue line station from O'Hare and right next to the orange line station from Midway.

Great place to stay! Close to everything we needed. And the L is right there to get you around town or to and from the airport. Staff was incredibly helpful with directions or recommendations. Room was clean and the view down State was wonderful. Definitely would stay again. The ROOF rooftop lounge on top of the hotel always drew a crowd of well dressed people to the hotel. And a few Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s parked out front was fun to see on Saturday. We didn’t use room service or eat/drink at the bar so we can’t comment to those.

Our experience at this hotel was one of the best. The staff is over the top friendly and very helpful. Upon arrival at 8am I was expecting to have the hotel staff hold my bags until my room became available and to my surprise they were able to get me in to a room instantly. Additionally, On one of our days leaving the hotel it was raining and the valet gave me an umbrella to carry around the city so I would stay dry. Stop by to see Eric at the concierge desk to help set up any daytime excursions. He was able to get us on a boat tour at the last minute when most were already sold out. Also the rooms are cute and clean and the hotel has a lot of food options if you choose to stay in and dine. The location is perfect and there is a lot of things to do within walking distance. Lastly, the staff makes this hotel the reason to stay! In every interaction with them they have gone above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. From: a happy traveler!

If I could give negative. I would. Talked to the manager Sarah herman. Not very accommodating. We have a reservation for a suit. And wanted to party at the roof top. They want to charge extra 800.00 wow. We asked for refund for the suit and didnt want to give refund.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Absolutely wonderful experience. Excellent customer service. Great location. Beautiful views and a romantic place if you're with your significant other. If you're down for a little karaoke there's a karaoke bar a few blocks away call Brando's. Visit there and you have good drinks and a fun time. And there's a theater close by, right down the street. Very nice. I highly recommend this place and I can't wait to visit again. Oh and they give you the best fresh baked cookies.

This hotel is excellent! Absolutely superb! I had a very nice room with a beautiful view. The soaking tub was a nice touch for my husband and I. They tended to our every need and the staff was the friendliest staff I've ever seen. I am thoroughly impressed and I can't wait to visit again. Whenever I'm in Chicago I know where I'll be. Oh and their cookies are wonderful.

Visited the rooftop bar at the Wit for drinks with out of town friends. This space is fantastic! What a unique place to meet right near the river, a great place to take a date or chill with friends. View and atmosphere are awesome, drinks are a little pricey but on par with downtown prices. They also have a new food menu to accompany your libations. Highly recommend!

Experienced a wonderful stay at theWit Chicago over a three-day weekend. The hotel is conveniently located at the State/Lake "L" stop. Consider using the "L" while you stay at theWit during your next stay in Chicago (parking here is a steep $65/nightly). Upon our early arrival, we were warmly welcomed to Chicago by a front-desk staff member named Ashley. She took the time to thank us for staying at theWit, provided recommendations for our visit, and helped us check in early so we could begin our tour on foot without bags. During our visit, we took full advantage of the State and Lake restaurant downstairs and the dining experience at the top of the hotel. Our room was very clean and well-kept during our stay. The only downside is that the shower curtain was not water-resistant. Both the lining and the outside decorative curtain had to be placed inside the tub wall to prevent water from flooding the bathroom floor (learned the hard way). Thank you to theWit staff for an excellent stay! We will absolutely stay here again and recommend it to our friends!

The atmosphere was great. We went there during winter. I heard that they open up the rooftop during nicer weather/day. The bartender was helpful. The view was good. We didn't had any meal. Overall, it was a nice experience.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights and there are zero complaints. Room had a nice view and comfy bed. Our experience was great from the moment we stepped out of the car. The valet guy was very nice and helpful. Staff helped with our luggage from the car to the room. We were able to check in early. Ashley at the front desk was funny and personable. She even helped us extend our stay from one night to a second night. The concierge, Eric, was hilarious and very friendly. He answered our questions, gave great recommendations, directions, and even joked with us when we came down to the lobby. We will definitely plan stay here again and recommend to people we know. It was all about our experience and it didn't even feel like we were at a hotel.

What a great hotel! I stayed 2 nights and had a pleasant experience. I ate at the rooftop bar which was a great experience. Only two things stopped a 5 Star rating: 1. The price of drinks at the bar… I thought $10 for a bottle of Stella was a bit extortionate. 2. For an extravagant hotel with a spa and advertised “health club”, the gym didn’t really differ from the other Hilton hotels and was pretty basic. Overall, a great experience and I would stay here again.

I always have a nice stay at theWit. The breakfast in the restaurant is exceptional and the rooms are nice. It is well-situated for shopping, attractions like the Art Institute or Chicago Cultural Center, and the other museums. Plus, it has great El access. I am partial to Hilton properties since I am Honors Gold, but I constantly pick theWit when I need a hotel over other Hilton brand properties and other hotels in Chicago. I have stayed there at least 5 times — more than any other Chicago hotel, so they must be doing something right, if I keep coming back.

Cool hotel with a roof bar, the bar catered to a higher end crowd. Mostly trying to sell table/bottle service. I was with a group that got in while visiting here in town. Met the DJ was real cool guy and had some good drinks mingling in the crowd. Was busy and drunk people were falling all over the place while enjoying the bottle service. Lots of broken/dropped glasses and bottles but the staff was quick to come and clean up.

This has to be one of the nicest hotels and nicest people I have ever been in/met. When they heard it was my 21st birthday they went all out and took me to the bar and gave me free shots! They also escorted me up to my room with my luggage and showed me everything the room has to offer, as well as tell me all the things I can do here in Chicago, as well as the best places to eat. A few minutes after, they brought me up the cutest box with a cupcake in it, with a note that says Happy 21st Birthday. Every time I leave or enter the hotel, someone would always greet me. 10/10 would recommend everytime. This will be my go to hotel if and when I return to Chicago. The restaurant for breakfast had some of the best food, too. I can't find a negative thing to say or a critique.

Had a great stay. Room had a great view. Staff was Awesome. Room wasn't ready staff sent us to state and lake Bar for a quick drink on the Hotel. Concierge helped us reserve dinner. Was not able to check out the rooftop bar. Next time. Price was acceptable will stay again.

Our stay at the Wit has been amazing. When we checked in we were professionally greeted by Kyle at the front desk. He has went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The entire staff was always pleasant, and eager to answer any questions that we had about the downtown Chicago area. The view of the river from the corner suites are amazing. We can’t wait to come back and visit again soon.

The rooms are spacious. The hotel itself is modern, has very good view towards the river and the city. The Roof bar is very good bar where they serve excellent and the view is amazing.

Wonderful location, walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The staff, from the valets to the front desk were very professional and really friendly to us. We went just for the night to celebrate my wife's birthday and I just picked the wit not knowing anything about it. Lobby was beautiful. Room was clean and classy. Lounge was very pretty and they had great live music. Clean bathroom, tasteful art on the wall. Just overall very happy we stayed there. I plan on coming back with my kids when it warms up.

I made a reservation by Iberia, and now I want to load the avios. Mind-boggling. In addition to the treatment leaves a little to be desired, quite arrogant.

Beautiful hotel with great amenities. Loved the light — hearted vibe. Roof lounge was cozy, breakfast in the lobby restaurant was tasty. Comfortable bed, nice iron… only complaint was the shower didn't get hot enough and the bathroom door slides closed but does not seal to block out sounds.

Beautiful views and wonderful workout room equipment. The room had an amazon echo and Alexa will make recommendations for food and fun. Only complaint was there was little to no service for actual guests as there were many holiday parties going on throughout the hotel that day. Beautifully designed and furnished hotel.

The Wit is a good hotel. The location is right in the middle of everything. It's easy to get to from either airport by train. It has a nice lobby bar and restaurant, and a fantastic rooftop bar, which is open year-round. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and of course, the freshly baked cookies are a nice touch. You can walk to the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, and the museums easily.

My stay was amazing, from the start with mona at the front desk being very friendly and helpfull to our requests and offering us ideas on what to do while we visited, the roof top bar has amazing views to complement the friendly staff up there, the room we stayed in was the junior spa and it was clean and had breath taking views, The vallet service was easy and much appreciated. I highly recommend staying here.

We were looking to book a hotel for a stay in Chicago (to see a concert at the Chicago Theatre), and theWit seemed like a nice option, so we decided to go with it. I am so glad that we did. The hotel is amazing and the people working there couldn't have been any friendlier. We had the unfortunate experience of arriving into the city at 5pm (on a Tuesday), but we were able to pull the car next to the hotel, a friendly valet attendant took it for us, we walked inside and got upgraded to a suite on the top floor, overlooking the river. I mean, what, and when does this type of service happen? We received a text message when we got to the room, asking if there was anything we needed, and if so, to just text back and they would do everything they could to assist. I've never felt so special. I felt like a rock star! :) My only complaint is that I only stayed 2 nights before I had to be back home. The room was immaculate, and had everything that we needed, plus some. The next time I go back to Chicago, I'm not even going to 'hotel shop', I'm definitely returning to theWit again. Its proximity to the theatre (about a 1 minute walk), the art museum, the river front, etc… can't be beat. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.

This place is literally the best. Great rooms, better service, and that personal touch. The only place I stay in Chicago.

The State & Lake bar is one of my favorites in the city. It's not flashy. It's not pretentious. It's just a nicely appointed bar with a decent selection of beer, wine and booze. The appetizers are also very good. Get the trout. It's worth it even though it's rarely a Happy Hour Item. Servers are above average for attentiveness and your water glass is never empty. Folks who have to be seen go to the rooftop bar at the Wit. Those that want good food, good booze and the ability to heat their friends speak go to State & Lake.

Wonderful hotel. If I could give a 6 star review I would. For starters the staff is so welcoming and helpful. My girlfriend and I had never been to Chicago and the staff provided excellent recommendations and even helped out with the little things. The employees are kind and seem to really care about your experience. Great location our view was beautiful.

Great hotel. You cannot beat proximity to downtown attractions and the train, especially for the price. The staff here were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and more than accommodation. I booked through a 3rd party website, and the website screwed up my reservation, but the gentleman at the front desk was nice enough to let me check in at 4 AM the morning of my reservation. Will definitely be staying here again.

It was really nice. My childhood friend was married on the roof and had his reception in a hall on the third floor. It was pretty upscale but not stuffy. The staff was very friendly. The food was very good, but the dessert was spectacular. It was a nice and ample spread both on the roof and at the reception. Also, the roof is an exclusive nightclub in the evening. The women in line were gorgeous! There's a lot to see on the streets around the wit. It's right next to that famous CHICAGO sign from the intro of Perfect Strangers. I heard the rooms were nice, but I was super distracted. I had been ditched at dinner by some of my best friends and they felt no need to apologise. It's been tearing up inside. I know they were happy with their stay. Oh, and the concierge will tell you the cheapest and best lot to park at. It's on Randolph and State. Very useful information.

This place was awesome. The staff made incredible efforts to help us with directions around the town. They text me to ensure everything was good. Just really good service and location.

I visited The Roof for an event of work. The food and drinks were good, but the space and view were the best part.

The room my husband and I stayed in was fairly large with a decent view of the city. You could also see parts of the navy pier. I was not a big fan of the valet charge but we only stayed for the night. They were very accommodating. We were able to check in about two hours early which was a big relief after a long drive.

Parking is $65 valet off site so save yourself $20 and park just next door in the ramp for $45 and you can go back to your vehicle if you forgot something in the car. Hotel staff was very nice. We were traveling with two minors and a sitter; the rooftop bar was recommended to us as 'kid friendly' but we stopped up to check it out and in the nicest possible way the staff steered is elsewhere. Walked to the nearby Elephant and Castle and had a nice dinner.

Elegant, modern and high tech. Everything is great about this hotel: location, facility and staff. Stop looking around and book at this hotel if you are in town. Just be careful with the high tech mini bar that comes with sensors. Yes, read that yellow sticker carefully before you mess around :)

. Ended up getting our room with points and cash. Had a different credit card on file to use towards our bill. Upon arrival, we were told we could not use that credit card. I was on a budget during this trip and didn't account for an extra $200. We have stayed at the Waldorf plenty of times prior and we have never had an issue with the card on file. The front desk clerk was extremely nice and upgraded our room. When we came back at night to go up to our room, the elevators took over 5 minutes to come back to the 1st floor except for the one that went to the rooftop bar. Pretty ridiculous hotel guests had to wait over 5 minutes while the patrons to the bar did not. I want to say that one elevator had at least 6 trips going up to the rooftop.

Our stay here was amazing. The service is impeccable, the rooms were large and clean and updated to reflect a new decor. Above all else though, the service truly was amazingly great. They went above and beyond our expectations and made our stay superb!

Super friendly and helpful staff. Nice decor, always looked forward to coming back in the evenings. Would've been five stars but waiting on elevators at night because of people at "the roof" is obnoxious. Guests paying $300+ a night should not have to spend several minutes waiting on an elevator because of night club traffic.

The company I work for hosted a quarterly review here. The conference rooms were beautiful and fairly quiet and easy to find. Staff was friendly. I also stayed overnight and had a great check in experience. Totally worth the upgrade to a suite!

I went to the party at the ROOF on theWit on Sundays and no longer make it. A very kind waiter who greeted us told us that they are considering whether to re-do them or not, but for the moment it's a NO. Pity.

We used the hotel's conference rooms. In particular we used the screen room was gorgeous with comfortable couches and mini tables for drinks, phones and other things. We had a bartender who made tasty mimosas for us. All the A/V equipment worked well and we didn't seem to have any problems. After the meeting we went to the Wit's rooftop bar/rooftop restaurant. There were some beautiful views. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was great. Very Mediterranean. However I have some doubts about the freshness of the Seafood. All in all it's a great hotel providing a great value. We'll definitely be back for more events.

I work as an event planner in the Chicago area. I can honestly say that the it is a pleasure to work with. The staff of phenomenal, the food is excellent, and their meeting space is impressive. They also offer a screen room, which seats about 45 with a movie screen that can be rented for a f&b minimum. They also have access to many sporting events that can be shown privately for an exclusive vip feel. They are reasonable in pricing for a downtown hotel, they have one of the best rooftop bars in the city, and they have some lovely rooms! Can't say enough about how easy it is to work with theWit on so many levels. I highly recommend them for your next meeting.

Visited The Wit rooftop bar on a weekend trip to Chicago. The drinks were perfect and the ambiance was very upbeat. It was a Saturday night so there was a DJ. The location is in an upscale part of town near the riverfront. It was within walking distance to other rooftop bars and nightlife. I was dressed casually, so even though their website states strict dress code enforced… it was not. However, my friend and I were the exception because everyone else met the dress code requirements. $10.00 cover charge for ladies. It was enjoyable.

Great hotel with great and nice staff. Very clean. Good service and cozy rooms. Thanks to Arcadia the front desk manager for the help with the suites. Great indoor pool for adults and kids as well. Will come back for sure.

Not sure I really understand all these wonderful reviews. We are currently in the hotel staying and I am extremely underwhelmed for the price. The lobby and staff are extremely nice and high-end, although I am not sure what else is. The room is a typical classic hotel room with no special amenities. Odd annoyances like sliding bathroom doors, no fan in bathroom and loud hvac is frustrating. There is a giant wardrobe in the room instead of a closet and the elevator has a slightly scary clunk when riding the elevator. For the money I will definitely try somewhere else next time.

Very friendly staff and the rooms are very updated and comfortable. During our meeting, staff was very attentive (picking up empty/used cups and glasses after they have been used and patrons have walked away). After returning from each break — area was arranged and clean. Even the area where plates and glasses dropped off after being used were promptly attended to. Lunch staff was also very attentive and even proactively cleared dishes. The service reminds me of a stay at the Ritz Carlton but with a modern atmosphere.

Great view from the rooms. Staff provided excellent customer service. Hotel was clean all around and the Roof was great fun. Nothing bad to say.

My fiance were in town for the draft. We selected theWit because the style was similar to our favorite Vegas hotel, The Palm. I booked the room online and received a confirmation to my email. A couple days before our check in date, I went back to the website to see if there were any upgrades or discounts available. I noticed our chosen room's price was reduced. I called the hotel to ask about the discrepancy. It took 3 calls as I kept getting transferred or disconnected after stating the reason for my inquiry. I was offered various reasons as to the price fluctuation and had to request that my room reflect the new online price. I've never stayed at a hotel that didn't have bath tub. I was looking forward to luxuriating and very disappointed that our room had only a shower. After remarking on this at the front desk at check out, I was told that 50% of the rooms offered tubs as an option. I did not see this anywhere when I booked the room, nor was it offered at the time of check-in. The room was as beautiful as the site photo, but my fiance and I were not happy with the sliding bath door. There was at least a 1 inch gap when the door was closed, which adversely affected privacy, sound and warmth when occupied. After dinner at the adjoining Tavern we were to meet up with friends at the Rooftop bar. We were denied entry and sent back down to the lobby to show ID's and check our guest status. We found this quite inconvenient and not all logical.

As someone from rural Wisconsin visiting the city to watch a performance at the Chicago Theater, theWit softened the "culture shock" with its easy to talk to employees, clean establishment, and fantastic location to the theater. Valet parking took care of the nightmare that is parking and the must see Millennial Park is only a few blocks walk away. I would not hesitate to book another stay in the future.

It's a really nice upscale hotel. I typically stay at less extravagant locations but this had some very nice decor and a very friendly staff. It might be just me, but fhe nicer the place I stay the internet speed is a let down. Of course you can pay for a higher speed connection but with the price why do you have to pay to get better service that I can get for free at a less elegant location.

The employees at the front desk were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a generally busy place with a lot of rooftop-bar guests at night. It's annoying as a hotel guest to come back to the hotel after dinner and have to "prove" that you're staying at the hotel in order to reenter. We requested a mini fridge to keep our leftovers in one night, but they were all out, which was another unfortunate incident. The rooms are nice but not worth the price and trouble of battling with the nighttime crowd.

This is our third stay at the Wit and wanted to rave for a minute about our experiences. Every time we come, we are greeted as we arrive. We love the designs of the rooms and they make a great place to eat a warm cookie. Our room tonight has a great view, but the views have been great from every room where we have stayed. There is a storm rolling in and the lightning is putting on quite a show. We are back today because of Christian and Alex during our previous stay. These two guys went above and beyond to help us out. We want to send them, in particular, a big thank you! We were so happy to see Christian today when we arrived. When we come to Chicago, we stay at the Wit!

Staying at this boutique hotel theWit — A DoubleTree by Hilton, 201 N State St, Chicago, IL 60601 is always a treat. The service that is provided is top notch along with the wonderful food. The hotel rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious as well as the meeting rooms of the hotel. There's a cool roof top bar and club that is fun for people watching or dancing and enjoying drinks with friends.

My stay was pleasant, as on previous visits. There was a slight hiccup during my time at the location. However, it was addressed quickly and I was given something for the inconvenience. The gesture was unexpected but greatly appreciated.

Very swanky place. They got nice lounge areas and the rooftop portion is ok. Not the greatest view, but the vibe was good. Pricey but theres a very posh feel.

This higher end hotel located in downtown Chicago is close to everything that downtown has to offer. It is just south of the Magnificent Mile, several blocks west of Millennium Park, adjacent to the theater district, and north of the financial district. The front desk staff are fast to check you in and get you to your room. The rooms are nicely sized with some good views. Our room was clean and without any issues. The hotel has a well know roof bar that is great during the summer but stays open during cold winter, though the bay doors on the roof are closed with certain weather conditions. The adjacent restaurant State and Lake Tavern is not good. There are much better options around the area. My stay there was very pleasant and actually without complaint. It is a bit pricey, and that made me want to drop it to four stars but I have a hard time doing that when the stay was pleasant.

Hands down the best customer service! The food at the restaurant was amazing. The entire staff here are exceptional! They made my vacation wonderful. Staying at the Wit is a slice of heaven. This is the only hotel I will ever stay at when in Chicago.

More service but it could be better and the driving is not good.

My boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Chicago for my birthday. He booked The Wit and we loved it! Adam and Robert at the front desk assisted us with all of our needs — they were both very friendly and helpful. Our room was upgraded to a suite, which had amazing views of the city and plenty of space. Everything was clean and orderly. The hotel was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do — great location! Overall, we loved our stay/experience here and wished we had stayed longer!
