I stayed here before and it was great. On this vacation I was in room 112 and it was full of roaches. Ruined my whole vacation.

Best local hotel in Maui!

The rooms were clean. The landscape was gorgeous and staff very friendly. Keep in mind, this is not a resort; there is a small kitchen area with a small refrigerator. You’ll have to ask for the hospitality suite to use a microwave. The restaurant that’s attached isn’t the best. We didn’t have breakfast there so not sure about that. It’s right on the beach nice for walking but not necessarily swimming. The cruise ships come in next door along with cargo ships so there is a lot of random plastic on the sand. There is a gas station and mini mart across the street. Also a small strip mall but we didn’t visit it; since we had a car we drove to other areas. It’s quiet, never heard our neighbors when in our room. Close to the airport and Uber is about $11 to the hotel if you don’t have transportation.

1st place I stayed in Maui and tell you what this Hotel gets a 10/10 from me. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience! It is a locally owned hotel right on the beach. It is located near the Kahului airport and next to cruise docking.
The grounds are meticulously maintained. The pool is nice, too. The rooms are comfortable and clean with Wi-Fi and flat-screen tv, coffee in room. Plus, a good hair dryer! It even dried my thick hair easily.
But, the secret to their success is their personnel. We were staying here prior to a special dinner out the evening that we checked out. We were given a late checkout plus they allowed us to come back to freshen up in their hospitality room prior to our dinner reservation! They were eager to find a way to say yes to our requests.
I would recommend this hotel in a minute to anyone wanting convenience and friendly atmosphere.

This hotel which is conveniently located in the heart of Kahului is a good basic hotel with not much frills for those who quick access to the roads toward all the various site seeing around the island. The room was clean, but furniture was a bit dated with kitschy old Hawaii style from days past. It was comfortable for the most part, but did get a deluxe room which offered more space to move around which was good, but when they say you have a partial ocean view, it is really… partial. Mostly had a view of a parking lot, but that was okay because the stay was not be in the hotel, but have ease of getting round to the sites. A nice thing about the hotel is the restaurant onsite. It is only open for breakfast and lunch which was fine for our needs. They offer a decent local style breakfast at decent prices and there are some twist to the menu that make it unique. There is a really good local Japanese restaurant across the street from the hotel that is open for dinner and a Mediterranean restaurant as well that is a little more upscale. There are not much frills associated with this hotel. They do have a pool and decent Wi-Fi. There is no convenience store at the hotel, but a local drug and convenience store called Long's a few blocks a way if you need anything. I would stay again because of the location and convenience, but not the experience.

We stayed for I night coz our flight was Cancelled, We are really impress with my Husband to this Hotel, it was really clean Environment, friendly employees, treat u good, we’re just wondering first coz we stayed 5 nights in Westin Nanea Villas Resort. So we really surprised and enjoyed this Maui Seaside Hotel, Nice place to stay, it was clean inviroment, employees are friendly, really maintaine the Area it’s relaxing peaceful and quiet. Give them 5 star!

I would say this is an average hotel. You can certainly tell from the outside that it is old so our expectations weren't too high. They do a good job of keeping it clean. When we checked in the lady told us there is a $10/night fee for parking so we said we won't park here and so she told me it was my "only option". And then she asked me for my license plate number again even though I said I wasn't going to park there… pretty annoying in my opinion. Besides that our stay has been good.

While we ended up not staying here due to conflicting accommodations, the staff was nothing short of amazing. They were very attentive and understanding. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because there is a $10 a night fee for parking that was not communicated before arrival. I did not like that surprise so hopefully I can spare you the shock. Overall the place was older but very clean and the amazing staff definitely makes the area.

Though the property is no frills I will give it 5 stars. My flight arrived at 11am and they were fantastic with customer service and checked me in 4 hours early! Upon checkout they extended out my time by another hour free of charge. They have secure luggage storage and offer shower and dressing room to clean up before your departure even after checking out! Great customer service. I would stay here again for a low cost friendly hotel.

The location is very good for staying near the airport, if you are getting in late or leaving very early, it's a good option. It's not somewhere I'd want to spend my whole Maui vacation. The employees there are all friendly and our room was exceptionally clean, though very worn.

Could not have found a nicer place to stay. The staff always would say aloha and ask if you needed anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Prices were reasonable also.

Wonderful charming old hotel with a beautiful view of the West Maui Mountains. The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel was immaculate. The pool was very nice. We stayed one night before flying out the next day. The hotel is close to shopping, food, and the airport.

Locally owned and operated, this place makes up in service and friendliness what it lacks in anything else. It’s not fancy but, it’s clean, affordable, in a great location, and has amazing views of the harbor. We stay there when my kids have regattas next door. No microwave in rooms but all guests have access to hospitality rooms that has pool towels and 2 microwaves. Room came w/2 free adult breakfasts from Tante’s (on-site restaurant) big portions, great menu. Had dinner there too. Delicious local favorites. I recommend this place for all my out of town friends.

The Wi-Fi is not that great and goes in and out. If you have more than 2 people you are not able to get a free breakfast for the other people with you, which makes it pointless as the 3rd person now needs to pay. The parking area is horrible and difficult to navigate around. They also charge you an extra $10 for parking which they don't indicated when you're browsing or renting on their website. The only good things is that the pool and view are beautiful. And if you're just two people then you will enjoy it to some degree. However for us. It was not that much helpful.

My husband and I only stayed in Maui for 2 days but once we got there and saw the view of the mountains we knew that this hotel was a great choice. It was close to the airport so I didn't expect the quality to be so high but it was nice, has all been the necessary things one would need such as a microwave a fridge coffee maker and restaurant and Whole Foods near the hotel. Great lawn and beach was literally 10 steps away from my room.

Amazing place. I would really like to appreciate this hotel in terms of service, location is right in front of sea side as the name says. Rooms are very spacious and clean and well maintained. Also, the cold breeze blowing every time makes you fall in love with the location of the hotel.

Friendly, clean, and close to airport. Restaurant next to hotel is good and there are a few others in walking distance. You do have to call 2 days ahead for shuttle from airport since they use a 3rd party. No nice beaches within walking distance.

My partner and I LOVED our stay here. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. One nice thing is; if you have a shuttle after your check out time, they'll hold your luggage for you until you're ready. They also allow you to come back and freshen up before your flight. The restaurant next door is amazing! The loco moco is incredible. We will definitely come back to this hotel the next time we're in Maui.

Very cozy and conveniently located. It is easy to get anywhere you want on an island. Staff is very helpful and welcoming! Pretty location, you can just walk down to the beach! Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Expensive. Own. Old. But clean. The pool is cool and they accept backpackers who want a hot shower. To order on site discount because the night is not worth more than $250.

The hotel is clean even though the furniture and décor a little old. We spent one night after getting completely wet in a hike and we needed to dry our stuff and take a hot shower. It's been very effective for that. We were also able to wash on site and fill our ice cooler. There is a swimming pool so if it's nice it's great to enjoy it. It's expensive for what it is, but in Hawaii everything is expensive!

I can’t imagine staying anywhere else while exploring the island. Maui Seaside is locally owned and here you will receive real Aloha. The location is central and perfect for getting anywhere on island quickly. We had a deluxe poolside room and the king bed was extra comfy, the desk and chair helpful, and the mini fridge and coffee station helped out with leftovers and our morning wake up brew. I was extremely impressed by how clean our room was every day. It smelled clean and I am picky and found nothing left unturned. The room started to feel homey and the sound of the ocean waves crashing was like a meditation tape. The lanai outside was peaceful for staring at the harbor or reading a book. We loved using the hospitality room upon arrival when our room wasn’t ready and we wanted to freshen up from the plane ride and the last day when we wanted to clean up from swimming in the pool. The pool is fabulous and never crowded and there is a cart with plenty of towels for the taking. The beach is decent too if you don’t want to venture out for the day. I ate at Tante’s restaurant quite a bit because it was quick and convenient but there are so many restaurants in the area.

It is a nice seaside hotel with courteous staff. They are friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very nice view of the sea. Not a real resort of course, but beautiful and comfortable. The views is just lovely with a yard, flowers, and a pool. If you try to be realistic about what to expect at this price. Maui seaside is really really good. Room are clean and spacious. They have really good smelling soaps.

Great local family owned hotel, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the pool was absolutely beautiful! The view was also amazing by the pool. Great place to relax and the best hotel prices on Maui! They also offer kama'aina (discounts) for local residents. The restaurant is also awesome, the loco moco is bomb! I highly recommend The Maui Seaside!

It all depends on the price you will have paid for your room, as these are fairly outdated rooms not renovated. I would say that I would not pay more than $120 for this room but it cost me $280, so the value is absent. I arrived at 15h20 and the room was not ready, it is quite unusual that a room is not available so late. Otherwise the staff is nice enough. The hotel is ready from the airport but it's pretty pointless, no restaurant within 25 minutes. The dynamism of Maui is clearly not in this neighborhood.

Totally loved our stay. Only recommendations would be: notify customers need the 48 hrs check in to receive free shuttle to and from hotel. We had to pay $40.00 on taxi service. And notify customers you need 24 hours departing hotel to airport and your flight cant be more than 2 hours before airport departure. Other than that: rooms hotel pool grounds very clean and secure. We did not get free breakfast nor vouchers for food. The restaurant would not let us order fried rice.

Great hotel. Very clean rooms and courteous and friendly staff. Hotel looks a little older from the outside but is very clean and well cared for upon entering. The attached restaurant was also pretty good. The downside was check in time. It was said to be at 4, and our room was still not ready at that time. Overall would definitely recommend!

Excellent place for staying here with kids. Very nice and clean rooms with comfortable beds. Next to sea and feels good. Rooms are bit dated but honestly didn’t matter much to us Front desk staff was always friendly and helpful Close to airport and restaurants.

For sure no frills. Did not even have ice bucket. When I ask for one I was handed a Styrofoam cup and told this was all they provide. No working vending machines. Tiny rooms, decorated poorly, in bad need of updating. Way over priced! We would never stay here again! Certainly would not recommend! Oh and there is a $10.00 per day parking fee. Was afraid to try the restaurant and did not.

The hotel is in a convenient location, but the rooms are very basic. The walls between the rooms are paper thin so you hear even casual conversations. I had to call security 3 times to calm the loud music and partying in the room next to me until after midnight (first call was about 11). Then I had to listen to them vomit until 4am like they were in my room. I’m sure not everyone has this same experience here, but was really disappointed with my stay.

We stayed here 2 years ago. A shuttle picked us up from the airport, they allowed us an extremely early check-in. They gave us an oceanfront suite with a killer view! The room was adequately updated and very clean. There were complimentary beverages in the lobby and an amazing staff that helped us with everything we wanted. It was an incredible stay and we would definitely stay here again!

Not that nice from the outside to be honest. Looks like your average cheap motel. But right past the front desk is courtyard with a very well-kept lawn and a pool in the center. The room was clean and a little more pleasing than the exterior. Towels we're folded fashionably upon arrival. Adequate space. Good room in general. I'd also like to note that the stairs were somewhat wide and therefore slightly easier to climb and descend. Just a side note.

Hotel to avoid if possible! The hotel is located on a convenient point of the island when you want to visit the whole island without spending hours on the road. But… it is really not terrible! The cleanliness is poor! Every time the housekeeping was done, the sheets and towels were dirty, stained! It's shameful! And this is by no means concealed! A big task visible on the top sheet on the bed does not interfere with the hotel. Toilet towels, all stained and smelling bad! It's extremely dirty and dubious! When you want to swim in the pool and children without parental supervision make jumps and splash everyone and you go to the reception, nobody does anything! So we leave the customer without a positive opinion here! When you take breakfast included in the price of your room, the choice comes down to three choices (not accustomed in France to this). In short, I do not recommend the Maui Seaside Hotel! Prefer to go further, even if you make a little more road to visit the island.

Easy access from the airport. Many fast food and local food options within a mile radius. Supermarket less than 2 miles drive if you're planning to make use of the in room fridge. Friendly staff and maid service. Parking additional to room rate, check with reception for pricing and to obtain a dashboard sign. Pool has plenty of seating and there's a quiet seating area nearer the beach front. Room clean. Coffee machine and iron/ironing board provided. Small veranda on ground floor rooms.

The service was friendly and helpful. The room we selected was a single king bed. Upon entering the room, there was an overwhelming musky, old wet clothes smell, it was very offsetting. When we looked in the bathroom we noticed multiple mold spots in the corners and on the ceiling. There is a single window air conditioning unit along with a ceiling fan, which if left running the entire time keeps the room at a comfortable temperature. We noticed that behind the entry door, a portion of the wall, about sq 1ft, was sunken in. Seemed as if it may be water damaged. There was also no seal around our door and we were able to hear the the conversations of passerbys, foot steps and the sprinkler system that turned on in the early morning. It is, for the most part, what it is advertised as and a place to "sleep" while you spend the majority of your time discovering Maui.

Great, friendly staff, beach access and a pool that closes at sundown. Small room around the size and feel of a motel. It is air conditioned and has a ceiling fan, so it's comfortable, but the quality of the materials and the upkeep of the structural portions, walls, paint, drywall, fexturing, look a little rundown. The bed is comfortable. The restroom is an average size, with no fan and little ventilation. A small window provides fresh air. Bath tub and shower head as you'd expect. Overall it is what it's advertised to be. A relatively inexpensive family owned small place to sleep at night while experiencing the beauty of the island during the day.

Good value for the money. Clean rooms. Choice of beach or pool for swimming. They found a room available for us to check in a little early. We were helped with printing our boarding passes. Near the mall and bus routes.

The rooms that my friends and I had were fairly big rooms. The beds for the most part were comfortable, but on the firmer side. The air conditioning units were a little small for the room. I checked in at 4:00 to turn on the a/c head back out to meet some people. I came back to the room at 12:00 and the room was no where near the temp that I had set it at. The price definitely makes staying there a little more bearable.

Staff was friendly. Room was sufficient ad's clean, but not fancy. Beds were super comfy. They gave us a free upgrade for sharing on Twitter. They were great about calling cabs and stored our luggage fore us after we checked out so we could go explore. Location was great — super close to restaurants, water, whole foods, and shopping. Quick taxi ride from the airport.

Just left MSH yesterday after a 5 day/4 night stay. I wish I would have spent more money to stay at a better hotel.

3. It's cheap (for Maui) …
4. Close to the airport Bad:
1. It's very dated and needs a serious cleaning for the amount they charge.
2. The "included" breakfast isn't included with he cost of the room. You have to pay $15/day and then you get a voucher for $15 worth of "free" food at their restaurant. The food isn't good and the service is awful.
3. The parking isn't adequate. Stalls are too narrow and there isn't enough of them.
4. You have to check out the key to their hospitality room (if no one else is using it) in order to use a microwave. This wasn't a big deal at first but the last day we were there we had the key less than 10 minutes and the lady from the desk called the room and asked how much longer we were going to be. We told her maybe 15-20 minutes so we could eat also. Still heating up our food (so maybe 10 minutes later? There were 5 of us heating something) she called back and was rude that we weren't done yet and hung up on me. I ran to use the restroom real quick while my food was heating. She came to the door and literally kicked me out so another family could use the room. When I got to the door she said "you need to leave" and I told her I was almost finished.

Cheap rates, and the atmosphere was great. Rooms were clean and had a good view of the mountain. Complimentary breakfast at the restaurant was delicious. Would stay here again.

It was absolutely ridiculous. Our buddy reservation was under my friend jack yet his drivers license says John. A common nickname for John. They would not let us check in. We sat in the lobby for hours after long travel with an already paid for room that. We were not allowed to check in to. Extremely frustrating after a day of travel.

Perfect if you're looking to do Maui on a budget. You'll need to have a car. Most of the sights and beaches are a good 20-30 min away.

Pig in lip stick hotel. Poor parking, rooms reek of cheap coconut frebeeze. We booked a roll in shower handicap room and were told that it was occupied upon arrival. We even came early that morning to make sure that the room we requested was the room we were going to get that afternoon. We we're lied to. We were told that this was all that was available and all we would get. Staff was not helpful in trying to resolve the issue. Our family will never stay here again, nor should yours.

We stayed in a budget room that was $99. Room is basic and meets our needs. We'll taken care of motel, we would stay here again no problem. There is a very good restaurant on site that serves amazing breakfast and dinner. Staff is friendly and the greet you as you come and go past the lobby.

Very nice employees and when you need help they are right there and if you need more towels or a pillow you just turn around and there's knots at the. My husband and I really like the stay. Quiet and nice place if you want to rest or not. Cool place. Cool breezy to.

Not bad. Cheapest accommodation on island. Old units, no safe, but present mgmt outstanding. They have aloha. Tantes a good reliable place to eat right here, lots of locals come to eat here, as well as small parties for birthdays and the like. Not recommended as a tourist destination though, as beach not really suitable for swimming (there was a shark attack in the harbor it is on, county closed beach and no appropriate signage placed! ). No elevators to 2nd floor rooms. Good place for business travel to the island.

Needs some beautifying but good for the price. Staff accommodated getting us a room closer to the pool. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. If you are looking for a budget friendly hotel while visiting Maui you will not be disappointed staying here. Mahalo.

Stayed here 4 nights during 4th July weekend. For the price you are paying, this hotel is awesome! They provide towels, toiletries, everything. Much to my surprise! Rooms are clean and large. Can't get a better deal in Maui.

The hotel is located in close proximity to the airport and has beautiful views of the harbour in the Bay of Kahului. The location allows easy access to all parts of the island. The rooms are not very fancy, but very clean. There is also a pool outside. Ample parking. It has paid off.
