My wife and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary at the Watermark and I must start by saying that the hotel staff, the concierge and their valet services were nothing short of exceptional. But once we sat down for our dinner reservations @ The Gregory, we could feel an IMMEDIATE difference in the staff:
Not only was the waitress very impolite, she was also tending to all of the other patrons MULTIPLE TIMES before coming to check to see if we needed anything (in which we did, several times). We ordered 2 entrees and neither came out as we ordered. Overall, we felt as though she didn’t care for our service. And this was a big deal for me because the dinner was the “main course” for the evening. That was supposed to be the cherry on top and it was very subpar. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend the hotel to any and everyone but we didn’t have the best experience at the restaurant. So ⭐️⭐️⭐️ in my opinion. Would be 5 Stars if the restaurant wasn’t such a turn-off. But that was one visit, and one waitress. We’ll definitely go again to see if that night was just an outlier and I’ll update my review accordingly.

Seriously the best customer service in Baton Rouge. From the valet to Wallace all are professional and attentive. My favorite things are the soft water in the shower the great view anD location to LSU.

The experience at the Watermark was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The staff was accommodating and anticipated our needs. Our family was there for a family wedding and the Watermark staff now is our family. From valet, to bell staff, to front desk, housekeeping and restaurant they were exceptional. We brought the Pittsburgh to Baton Rouge and now Baton Rouge is in Pittsburgh. We will be back.

We came to stay a night during COVID-19 virus time to get away from home and regroup. Most things that were normally open weren’t but the deli downstairs was and it was delicious. Everyone was friendly. Liked the robes in the room also!

The entire staff from the bellman, to the front desk girls, to the bartenders, the handsome waiters and chef’s … everyone is gracious, professional and helpful, the epitome of southern hospitality.
… the historic hotel is gorgeous and has amazing food. Known for their duck, the pork chop and steak are amazing too as are the brussle sprouts.

We loved staying here at the Watermark hotel. Service was impeccable. Restaurant menu choices was good but overall very good tasting. The hotel itself was impeccable and beautiful. I highly recommend you stay here.

We stayed here for our son’s wedding and had the rehearsal dinner downstairs in The Founder’s Room. The food and service were excellent and we received many compliments on the dinner. Our room was very nice and room service was also good. The CRAB CAKES are probably my favorite part of our stay here. I had them three times in three days! The chef was so kind as to even share the recipe with me and he was such a sweetheart to do so. He really cares about his food and it shows. The hospitality manager went above and beyond to make sure we had an excellent stay. And we did! Can’t wait to go back! The Watermark and The Gregory are now our favorite place in downtown Baton Rouge. Huge THANK YOU to everyone there! ❤️

Went here for our anniversary! It was very pretty and the view was awesome! The best part about the hotel was one of the receptionists! I didn’t catch her name but she worked on the 13th and said she was about to be married. I asked if she’d take a picture of my husband and I and she had us standing in all different spots and she was running all around like a photographer, she was so sweet, she really made my night for going out of her way for us! Hope she sees this, thanks again!

Beautifully remodeled from an old bank. Very unique in all areas. Rooms have an industrial feel but yet feel luxurious. Will definitely stay again.

Overall great experience. Staff were kind and attentive. The hotel is close to a lot of museums and local attractions. Only gripe with the hotel was the morning breakfast. I've stayed at other Marriott locations where breakfast was included with the stay, that was not the case here. I assume because this is one their "autograph collection" hotels, but the breakfast menu was limited and quite expensive. Two eggs for $11.00 or waffles for $14.00 seems pretty steep. I would stay again, but would avoid eating here for breakfast in the future.

Gorgeous room with a beautiful view of downtown. Close to all the excitement. Historical landmark with an old vault underground… crazy considering you’re sitting at or right above sea-level in south Louisiana. Only issue I had was my husband called down to order drinks from the bar and when delivered it came out to about $80, but that was on him, not the hotel.

Our stay at The Watermark was the best experience we’ve had at a hotel by far. To say the staff was attentive is an understatement. They went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty. We were celebrating a birthday so I purchased their sip and savor package. I arrived a day before to add a few things to the cheese plate, a bottle of port wine and a cake. I was a little nervous to ask but they were more than happy to oblige. When we arrived they had everything laid out for us and the appropriate glasses for the different wines and the manager hand delivered the cake. The room was immaculate and I loved the Art Deco decor. This is the perfect place to celebrate a special event or just to treat yourself.

The staff is very attentive to your needs. My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend anyone staying in Baton Rouge to check out the Watermark. You won't regret your stay here. Great job Sky, Elaine, and Bill.

Do not stay here on the weekend or any night there’s live music at the bar across the street. The music was extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep until after midnight. Then the bar crowd let out and it was noisy again until 2am. Oh and the trash truck stops by at 430 am. So do NOT stay at this hotel if you want to get a good night sleep. If you want to party till 2am then this probably a good place to stumble to and crash. This is an old building and the exterior walls are pretty thin. This makes the noise worse especially on the north side of the building. I don’t blame the hotel really, what can they do? But people need to be aware of this.

We used this hotel for our rehearsal dinner and wedding block during our wedding weekend. The staff was very nice and always helpful. From the beginning preparation thru the actual events they were there every step of the way. The hotel itself is beautiful with great beds. The location can’t be beat. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We stayed here for our daughter’s wedding for 2 nights. From the time we arrived until the time we left we had great service. All the staff at the hotel was so nice and helpful, especially Bill. He made sure everything was taken care of from the time we arrive until we left. If you go to Baton Rouge and need a place to stay, I highly recommend staying at the Watermark Hotel!

I attended a work social hour following by dinner in the vault. The staff week very professional and accommodating. The vault was a nice intimate room for the type of function we were having. The history behind the building is always fun to hear.

Pure elegance. Everything was beautiful. The shower was my favorite part. It was so nice and cool and modern. Can't wait to come back!

Very classy hotel right in that middle of downtown baton rouge. The soap and lotion in that bathroom is the best smelling stuff ever. The beds were extremely comfortable. They managed to blend modern comfprts with a old school classy feel. I half expected to see the dudes from mad men drinking at the bar, lol.

Super cohesive decor with unique artworks and history around every corner. Staff is attentive and knowledgeable — they can fill you in on any detail about the building, history, and rennovation you could think of. Rooms vary in size but are mostly plenty spacious. Bathrooms are especially generously sized. Convenient location for downtown events for locals and a quick ride to the airport for visitors.

Staff was very warm and helpful from check-in to check-out. The hotel is a former bank so decor and style hint at that. Rooms are large and comfortable. The bathroom shower is one of the best I've seen.

Excellent Boutique Hotel. Beautifuly restored building. Lobby/bar/restaurant are BEAUTIFUL with original restored artwork. Very accommodating and friendly staff. Rooms are average sized but very nicely remodeled and laid out. The old bank theme is cleverly done, look closely at the room doors. The wife and I completely enjoyed our stay here. Valet parking only $20/night.

I will definitely be a returning customer because of the great hospitality at front desk, bellman, etc. I had a suite and the rooms are so nice and probably one of the nicer rooms you can find especially in the area. Also was nice being so close to everything so never needed to drive anywhere just walked. Thanks Watermark and would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!

The rooms are big and nice. The front desk staff is great. However, we were told that the bar closes at midnight. We were refused service at 11:30pm. The woman at the bar said it was closed and rushed us out, yet there were two people drinking at the bar. I also think the Watermark should not associate itself with the restaurant Milford's. The food is not good.

Get the tour by Wild Bill, he is amazing A friend took me to the hotel just because he knew I like historical buildings and it's an old bank. He was going to show me a few little areas but Mr Bill caught us going down to the vault and gave us a tour that lasted about an hour. The amount and variety of information that he knew and his enthusiasm for the subject made the place come alive as a historical monument AND showing us the details of the conversion to a *very* lovely hotel as a modern establishment. We saw several rooms and, if you're looking for a wedding prep/night venue ask for the Room 225 suite, and the top floor. Each floor has murals w a story of the city, the elevators are interesting, and the main floor w restaurant and bar is neat. We already are figuring dates to go stay for the night, it's that incredible. We were told if you just want to eat or drink, drive into valet, tell them you're dining in or hitting the bar, and parking is free. I wish I had an extra day in town so we could check that out, but I'll be back and so will we. I wish I had more photos but I was too busy being impressed to think of my camera…

Extremely pleasant staff. Great rooms, and a great location in the city. Design and decoration is amazing, loved the art work. I would definately recommend for a weekend or extended stay.

Too expensive for too little offered. No free breakfast or anything of the sort. Room didn't have a microwave, either. The restaurants were expensive and served small portions only fit for a snobby rich person. The beverages tasted nice, but again, expensive for such little offered. Also, the entire day there was some man shouting in the halls and being extremely loud — not sure if he was drunk, or what. Needless to say, such behavior being permitted is ridiculous considering it kept waking me. Will not return.

Stayed one night on a trip out west. I felt very safe and accommodated. I loved the room. This made the top 3 Marriot stays so far.

Very nice historic hotel that was once a bank. I appreciate the effort to maintain and highlight some of the history while beautifully remodeling the necessities. I didn’t eat at the restaurant or bar, but they looked busy. This is definitely a trendier Hotel, so don’t expect the boring hotel feel. The only downside that I experienced (which may be an upside for you), was the location. I’m not taking away any stars because this is relative. There was some sort of concert/dance show that went until midnight across the street from my room. I was there on business, so I needed my sleep. Unfortunately, I’m a light sleeper and this caused a problem for me. Once again, you may like it, or want that. I didn’t complain because this comes with the territory of being downtown in any city. Just know that’s a possibility for your trip too. Even with that issue, I wouldn’t have changed anything. This is truly an awesome hotel.

Was really nicely set up. Beautiful hotel and service is great. However don't buy dinner here the food is no good. I had a pasta plate and it was cold so I had to send it back and get a burger. The burger taste good at first t then the bitterness of the burned edges kicked in. Over pewering what first taste good. Back to the room… it was really elegant and contemporary. The water has water softener. Beds plush. Very quiet and private suite. Huge walk in shower.

This hotel was once a bank back in the 1920s. A lot of the accents throughout the property give a nod to its original history. You can see that the doors leading to the rooms are almost like a bank vault door. The staff is warm and friendly and they have a restaurant on property. Being located downtown, it's within walking distance of other places to eat and drink as well.

I happen to work just down the street from the Watermark. Although I have never had an overnight stay at the hotel I have had plenty of there staff and guests come through my own business. Some of whom I know personally and I have yet to hear anything but praise! Great people and a gorgeous building, everything you could want in a good hotel.

This was a great experience for me and my sissy. If you want to go out to Baton Rouge for a short shopping trip, or just a get away from your city. Check out the downtown area and live for two nights very comfortable and high scale at the WM hotel. This place was beautiful now the rooms were small but the space they had to work with was well thought out.

My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere different and thankfully chose the watermark. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were impressed as soon as we opened the door to the room. It was very clean and the decore was awesome. The bed and pillows! Yes! Great location! My only complaint is that we were only able to stay one day. Also, it took me a minute to find the blow dryer because it was located in the closet.

Friendly staff, nice ambiance and conveniently located to nightlife. They have iPad menus which was easy to use. Drinks and food seems a bit pricey and not a lot to choose from. Disappointed that there wasn't room service and parking was located across the street for $10 day.

Good quality in the rooms. Service needed to be better. There was a used pill tablet wrapper of Imodium left in our room from housekeeping. Also when we called to have our car picked up from valet, nobody from the valet service received a notice from guest services. But other than that, the comfort level was quite nice.

My wife Arienne and I choose a new boutique hotel every month to visit somewhere across the country, usually within a four to six hour drive of our home in the Woodlands, Texas. We feel we've been to some of the best (and not so good) and we must say we were pleasantly surprised by the Watermark. Any opportunity I get to enjoy my best friend on a date night weekend away from our children I try and make it count. Though I can't take full credit for this one (she found this jewel of a location) I will definitely say we have enjoyed our three days here. From check-in when we subtly mentioned wine choices to a very exuberant check in staff (we love the energy in which they welcome new guests) only to find a bottle in our room, to the incredible food selection prepared by well trained chefs and served by two amazing hostesses and an outstanding wait staff (Kirstie) we have been blown away! We call the Woodlands home and are both therapists with clinics specializing in PTSD. Stressful days with hurting people can be the norm from time to time in our field and with our staff. The Watermark was a good decision for us right up there with Hotel ZaZa and Hotel Granduca in quality. The valet procedure may be a little confusing at first compared to those hotels, though during our check in the young man who helped us was spectacular, but our Sprinter was always parked and ready to go and they knew us by name quickly. Outstanding is all we can say!

The Staff was very professional yet personable. The food was delicious. The whole experience was Amazing. And our waiter Will was first rate. Perfect place to celebrate 26 month anniversary/date night.

I had the most luxurious stay at the Watermark! I love the ambiance of downtown Baton Rouge & the Watermark perfectly embodies the culture & southern flare of its phenomenal location. The staff really goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The food at their restaurant, the Gregory, was some of the best food I've had during my stay & they had a wide away of unique drinks to try at their bar. I cannot wait until my next stay at the Gregory!

I enjoyed my stay. The view from my Room was spectacular and the service was great. If I had any complaints it Would-be that my air conditioner was a little noisy in my Room, but that's minor compared to everything else.

This hotel is exactly what Baton Rouge has been waiting for. The excellent location, luxurious decor, and friendly and knowledgeable staff set the Watermark apart from other BR hotels. The bar is perfect for after-work drinks and the vault room is hands-down the most impressive meeting space in BR. I'm moving away next year, and I'll be very happy to stay at this hotel when I visit.

Absolutely loved this place! Rooms are great the mattress are divine and I bought their pillows and had them sent home. The staff was SO nice. We ate in the restaurant and had the best steak I've ever had. Bottom line this place is a solid 5 star place and I don't give those easily.

Magnificent! Historic (circa 1925) Louisiana National Bank location remodeled into an upscale, chic boutique hotel that is now operated by Marriott… all these aspects made for an ideal stay! The staff were patient, friendly and helpful (Jasmine and Aaron). The beds are unbelievably comfortable and the food was fresh, unique and delicious. The hotel location is central and convenient to downtown activities and sightseeing. And, the rate was very reasonable. It bears repeating: The incorporation of the history into the modern, comfortable hotel was A+, top notch! Wonderful stay! Thank you, Watermark!

The Watermark is a beautiful property. They have incorporated some of the charm from the previous business that was housed in the same location while still having a trendy new look that millennials will love. The service was outstanding. From Mr. Bill at the valet to Ms. Kayla at the front desk. Everyone was amazing. Both of their restaurants had great food and service. I will definitely be back.

Beautiful hotel even better customer service! The decor and rooms are phenomenal. In addition to that I'm so thankful for the extra mile the manager and his staff did on my behalf. I left my credit card at the hotel's main bar, but first realized this once I returned to my hometown in Dallas area. I called the hotel and they helped go above and beyond to mail it back to me! Wallace L. Offered to get my card all packaged up and sent out and even followed up to ensure I knew it was on its way back. I really appreciated the extra attention and care to help me out. And truly felt the hotel was so very well done. Thanks Watermark!
