An atypical southern plantation Manor with unusual and distinctive appointments. Well worth the time. A must is the restaurant. Arlene is a delightful server who makes the great meal unforgettable. Donovan is a wonderful tour guide. His presentation is witty and informative with a touch of southern class and western forthright character.

We had a nice time here. Please try of areas for great photos. The tour was short but informative. Had lunch prior to the tour which was nice but would have liked more options if local fare. Overall the staff was great. However it looks co concerning in some areas regarding the upkeep of the facility specifically the master bedroom.

Not to be missed. Back in the past.
Breakfast not at the level of the other services.
However, we recommend.

Such a special experience to spend the night in a beautiful 1850 plantation mansion. We took delight in walking around the place at 10pm and turning on lights and spending time in the gathering rooms of this historic home. The grounds are well maintained and lovely with the large bowing branches of the old oak trees. The turtles and catfish in the pond entertained us while being hand fed. Just across the street is a short paved path up the levee to the Mississippi River. This overnight stay at Nottoway is one of our best vacation experiences.

A beautiful Victorian style mansion. ' Our guide was very professional and theatrical in his period costume. The visit is rather fast, 1hour and interesting. It focuses only on the home and the family but lacks little connection with history and slavery.

Beautiful home and grounds just a short drive from Baton Rouge. Tour the home and take a stroll through the relaxing and picturesque grounds. Bicycles are available for rent. Nice restaurant and separate snack shop. Book a room in the opulent main house or the cabins near the pond.

We stayed the night in one of the corporate suites. It was great all of the accommodations were superior. Bed was very comfortable. We ate at the Masion restaurant for dinner and breakfast each meal was very satisfying. This is a place to come and relax to get away normal routine busy life.

Very dissappointed with Nottoway after hearing so many good things about. I splurged and got my wife the honeymoon suite just as a get away for a night. When we got there the room had a smell to it, couch was very grimy, and felt dirty. The pictures on the website are extremely misleading. The room was super small and not welcoming. I give it two stars because the bathroom was nice. I did however turn the Jets on in the tub and after I got out there was a thick dirt film on the bottom of the tub. Needless to say we are never going back. I hope newly wed couples don't book a room here! What a horrible way to start a marriage. Complete waste of money!

Beautiful plantation with good tour and restaurant! They have good self-guided tour and tour guide every hour. We chose the self-guided tour and we had a good time walking through the mansion at our own pace. The place was beautiful with a lot of nice stories. Then we ate at the restaurant there and it was very good. We got the special of the day (grilled catfish topped with crawfish) and grilled shrimp and crab cake salad. I recommended!

Very beautiful House, with a beautiful park its restaurant is delicious.

The food in the dining areas is great and the wait staff was wonderful and kind! The grounds of the area are absolutely beautiful and the history is fascinating. That being said, the tour guide we had seemed really frustrated and at times sounded very hateful. She seemed ready for the tour to be over and done with. I’m pretty sure that we didn’t get the full tour of the grounds because she wanted to leave. Despite that, I had a delightful time. I would most certainly go back, but I’d rather look around and give myself a self guided tour.

I have stayed here several times, and while it remains an overall good experience, the rooms are showing a lot of wear. I stayed again this time in a room in the historic residence. It appears something has happened to some of the furniture in the pretty on-line photos of this particular room, such as somewhere to place your luggage, or a comfortable place to sit down. There was no luggage stand, or any other surface at all onto which you could place your bag other than the floor or the bed. None. There was a small café table with two tiny dinette chairs. Adjacent to that was a single dining side chair. There was nowhere else to sit down other than on the bed in all of the room. The comfortable seating in the photo is no more. Maybe times are tough and they are selling off the furniture. The whole experience has gone downhill since I first stayed here.

An elegant slave built mansion by rich cruel slave owners. Now an elegant hotel. Sleep in luxury while dreaming of all the suffering their slaves endured so they could live like royalty. Food is excellent. First time my husband and I visited 10 years ago we were the only ones staying there. 64 rooms to ourselves. Not even a caretaker stayed overnight. It was surreal. But this our 4th visit I connected spiritually with long lost slaves. I believe because the restaurant hires locals AND I WAS TOLD by them their families have been in White Castle for several hundred years. They are now serving whites in the same mansion where their ancestors were enslaved. It tore my heart out.

Food was average, spice sauce too much for some. Service was attentive. Tour Guide was very informative. Grounds were well kept and blooming.

Very pretty area. You can check out the old rooms on a tour ($) or visit just the outside grounds for free. It is a working hotel, resort and restaurant so it's open later. The gardens are beautiful. In terms of historical accuracy and how much has stayed the same, compared to others which have still have slave quarters and untouched goods, this isn't the place. Good photo opportunity though.

The hotel is nice and simple. Beautiful decorations and furniture in the rooms but the real thing is the mansion where you can eat. Our best time there was the tour of the old house with a knowledgeable guide. Worth the detour.

Went here for a wedding and although the wedding was extremely short the reception was incredible! The service from the food being catered to eat table, drinks, table set ups, to the staff was an absolute A+. The night before the wedding we were served a full course meal which was delicious. The place is breathtaking and it was an awesome experience as a guest. Also one man showed us "the wicked witch" during the night which was really neat. An experience I won't forget.

It was a Beautiful place, the grounds are layed out beautiful. Beautiful big oak trees all about the grounds. The employees was very friendly and professional. Would visit again to take a guided tour much to learn about the property.

We visited 26 years ago, they have added numerous Cottages restaurants and swimming pool. The food is excellent, we really enjoyed the experience on our anniversary of 26 years. Michael Loupe is the executive chef and he has has really turned the plantation around with his excellent food. Highly recommend this Restaurant. You may as well spend the night.

We just go around the property without paying, the staff is lovely and nice. Few people in our passage we were able to enjoy the visit in peace.

Beautiful surround. Good feels. Lumpy bed . A bit lacking in details. Dinning was good but not notable although the price was.

Place to visit. The Park is beautiful.

This place is BEAUTIFUL! And so quite and set back. The staff is very friendly & accommodating. Definitely a great place for a weekend getaway, honeymoon, wedding, etc.

A pretty plantation with a nice tour. You can stay in the Mansion or on the grounds. Cute gift shop, bikes for rent, and a pool too! Would like to return for an overnight stay. Only downside, this is a remote location.

Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The tour of the mansion was short and a bit expensive. The tour guide was wonderful though. To stay on the weekdays the prices are Reasonably for the room.

Been visiting this place for years either for work or leisure and it never gets old! The food and service is incredible. If you're in the area, stop in for a tour. I prefer this experience above Oak Alley and some of the other plantations.

The grounds are absolutely stunning and I love how historical this place is. My only complaint is that I didn't get a good night's rest here. The trains passing by throughout the night were blaring their horns and since I'm a light sleeper, it kept me up most of the night. If you are a heavy sleeper, then I would highly recommend this place.

Gorgeous old plantation house and grounds. Stunningly maintained. You can wander round the place freely and get a real sense of what life was like. For the owners, at least. The room we stayed in was beautifully furnished, overlooking the fountain.

This is a phenomenal location! Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a fantastic time. We stayed in the Julia M.  Randolph Honeymoon Suite and it was incredible! I only wish we had more time in our private pool. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant was good but not outstanding. Certain things are scratch made it and it definitely showed in the quality of ingredients. Staff are all pleasant.

We attended the mystery dinner. Well worth the money for dinner and entertainment. I would like to see them offer substitutions for the drinks on the menu — some of us don't drink tea and wine — these were included with the meal. We loved the open seating and we were comfortable throughout. The actors were wonderful. We loved that we were allowed to take photos with the actors after the show.

Excellent tour of a gorgeous house. Don't miss the cafe, incredible value delicious gumbo and jambalaya :)

Unforgettable experience! If you love learning about southern history & antiques and have always wanted to stay in a real antebellum plantation this is a great place to visit. We stayed in the Cornelia Randolph room It was decorated and furnished in period antiques and with an old full tester bed. When we were there, there wasn't much going on, it was very quiet and kind of like we had the whole place to ourselves and had full run of the house. We had a great time exploring all the rooms and grounds. We took the tour (free with our room stay) which was interesting and educational. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs which was wonderful, my husband said the steak he ordered was the best he's ever had. Everything around the place was old or reproductions and very authentic feeling, not like the overdone sterile feeling of some of the other restored plantations in the area. The only problems we had were the shower in our room (a converted clawfoot tub) had very low water pressure and the tub itself was very chipped and worn so it didn't seem sanitary enough for me to want to sit in it to take a bath. It got the job done, but it took a long time to get the soap off, kind of like trying to take a shower in one of those RV bathrooms. Also We didn't get a good nights sleep because we are both tall/larger people and we were trying to squeeze into a full size bed that is probably best for just one person.

Me and my husband day trip and visit places as such on our motorcycles. Makes the trip that much more enjoyable. However, we were treated so disrespectfully at this location. We were asked to be helped the moment we walked in and in my naivety I thought this was good customer service. That thought was short lived. I advised lady we had never been and were interested in getting to know more about this location. We discussed the prices and length of a tour. Which would have been lengthy so we declined. She seemed irritated with the trash that stumbled in and made a point to say we could look around the grounds because it was "free" and to browse the gift shop was optional because of course, again she added "it's free". Me and my husband both own Harleys, which are not cheap by any means. Maybe I should have went home and got in my brand new SUV, which was LESS expensive than my husband's Harley and go back. I think not. This place has forever lost my business which is sad because it looked awesome.

I recently got married at Nottoway Plantation, and we had the most amazing experience! Meghan and Lauren, the catering managers, were absolutely fabulous to work with. They took note of every detail and were incredibly organized. They worked with us to find the best package that fit our needs. Even though we worked mainly with Meghan leading up to the event, Lauren handled the day of the wedding and never missed a beat! I also cannot say enough good things about the event staff. They were so accommodating and really made for a fabulous night! The food was absolutely delicious, and we had several guests compliment it! Finally, the rooms at Nottoway are exquisite. We were very pleased with everything!

My family and I (9 people) arrived for the 12:30 tour. We had to wait for 20 minutes for a lost tour bus to show up with 300 people. They added 12 people to our group. We would have been through with our tour in the time it took the bus to show up and unload the people. We felt rushed on our tour and don't think we saw everything. Twenty dollars was too much!
