We chose the Garden Walk for our 1 year anniversary. The positive Yelp reviews gave us a good feeling about the place, but that isn't always a sure bet. The entire experience was disappointing. The room was very musty and every time we entered it was a slap in the nostrils. We also dealt with bugs in the room for the entire weekend. We like to stay at bed and breakfasts and expect that furnishing, bedding, and facilities have some of the worn/charm features. An unpleasant smell and bug issue, however, are unacceptable. The second issue, breakfast, was the real heart breaker. Given the fantastic food options in Chattanooga, it is surprising to see how many people commend the breakfast on here. First, the coffee in the rooms and served at breakfast is REALLY BAD. It is clear that the management buys as cheap as they can because McDonald's coffee is far superior to what they serve. If you drink coffee black you would probably have to add cream and sugar to put it down. For breakfast on the first day, they served basic pancakes with a side of a mash thing of rice, some kind of ground meat and under cooked potatoes soaked in oil. This had to be the most awful thing I've ever seen for breakfast. The second day was better with a baked bread with peaches and whipped cream, but not everyone is looking to have dessert as breakfast. We contemplated changing our stay after the first night but didn't want to go through the trouble of moving. Based on our experience, I'd recommend you look elsewhere. We definitely felt jipped after spending $500 for two disappointing nights.
