Think this might be my first ever stay at a Motel 6. Wow, talk about no frills. The beds are comfortable enough and the rooms clean enough… But that's about it. The only clock in the room is on the microwave. No hair dryer. Staff seems nice. It's convenient to the beach front, but it's a pretty good walk to the wharf, State Street and all the commercial areas.

I was so very pleasantly surprised! This was my first stay in a Motel 6 in over 30 years. To be totally honest I was not looking forward to it. We were traveling (with our family dog) and decided at the last minute to stop in Santa Barbara for the night. I wanted to stay near the beach but didn’t want to pay over $300. This was the only option that came up and I reluctantly booked this room figuring we would be walking on the beach before bed and would just need a place to shower and sleep for a few hours before we got back on the road. WOW was I surprised! This room was sparkling clean and very modern. There was ample well lighted parking. Our room appeared to have fresh paint and been recently remodeled (wood laminate flooring, updated fixtures etc). I commented to the manager when we were checking out about the great condition of the rooms/property and he replied that it had been over 10 years since their last remodel. He said they just believe in keeping it well maintained! YES — RIGHT ANSWER! We will definitely stay here again, I feel like this special find was a secret hideaway for future trips to this area. Thank you for a wonderful stay and opening my eyes to some new possibilities!

No frills, but no complaints. Just what you need to get your head down and have a wash. Close to the waterfront, great walk down to the pier. Staff friendly and super helpfuk.

Very impressed with this Motel 6! Short walking distance from the beach. Very clean room. Furniture and decor was modern and nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. I wasn’t expecting so much but was very impressed with my stay and will consider it when back in the area.

The service is always great. We stay at this Motel 6 often and we are rewarded for that. The motel itself is simple yet functional for our needs and the location is great. It's a little pricey but everything in Santa Barbara is. We will continue to stay at this motel.

Clean comfortable room. No extra charge for our dog, which was a plus. Nice view of the beach, half block away. Property Mike and staff were very accommodating and friendly at all times.

Location location location! Fabulously friendly and helpful staff. Provided fresh towels and made bed daily. Would definitely stay here again!

I was so VERY impressed with everything about our stay. We were here for 7 nights and had a fantastic experience. The location is superb, staff was very accommodating, rooms were well taken care of and maintained. I have absolutely no complaints. I can't wait to return. I love this Motel 6 GREAT price for 1 block away from the beach! 5 star service for a reg 90$ a night gurl. Definitely stay here the view is beautiful No bed bugs super clean. But can smell fishy cuz it's next to the beach. That's how close! I did not mind it at all. The other hotels were 300$ nights a night.

The cleanliness was correct but the bathrooms in the rooms should be intercommunicated and we had the circumstància that in the other room they were smoking marijuana.

I ended up here because it was the only place I could find that would take my dog. The rooms were very small but comfortable enough. Cleanliness was okay not super. The staff was great especially Peter.

The location is just a few blocks from the sea. Just for a night's sleep. We touched on the top and there is q up suitcases x outdoor stairs, typical D motel. But to spend the night was good for the price well convenient!

Quite comfortable and especially close to the ocean with pool. Also not far from the main thoroughfare of the city. I would recommend this motel especially if you are passing for 1 night or 2.

It was decent for a Motel 6. Easy access to the beach, clean room, clean towels, comfy bed. That’s it really. Just what you expect from the 6. Nothing fancy.

We had to evacuate our home and chose to stay at our local Motel 6. I was very impressed by how kind and considerate they were of our situation. They worked with us and helped make a stressful time more enjoyable. Thank you to the wonderful staff, Jasmin, Peter, and Mike for being so professional, understanding, and caring.

Small room, not so clean and noisy.

The location was good and the staff were very pleasant.
Negative: Single hair in bed, from the sink faucet came out very little water, room quite cramped. Wi-Fi is extra. Overall, not a very comfortable impression. Just fine for one night.

I have been coming her for years and I was disappointed when the room I was assigned to had a leak and when I called the front to inform him of the problem there was no apology, little empathy, and a slight accusation of water running in the above unit (not my problem). There was no accommodations offered for my inconvenience nor was there a follow up the next day to further assess the problem. I know that it is just a Motel 6 but it is not cheap to stay here.

Great location. The staff was so friendly. The reason it is a 3 Star was because we saw some pretty strange things happening with guests that made us a little uncomfortable bc we stayed on the back side of the building. If we would have stayed on the front side we never would have known and it would have been great all around.

I was a bit weary to stay in a motel 6 but decided to, since it is right across the street from the ocean. I am so glad I chose this location. We were welcomed by a very friendly manager. Room was clean, and updated. Staff was very friendly, pool was extremely clean. If you are looking for a reasonable rate, book at this location. They also serve coffee each morning in the lobby. Oh, and this is the first motel 6 built in 1962.

Not great. But not too bad. Exactly what you'd expect. Small room. Reasonably clean. And pretty cheap. Probably better to pay a bit extra to up-scale if you can.

This little gem in East Beach is a great deal and a great place to bring my dog. The hospitality staff is particularly good. Bring your own shampoo and hairdryer but the rooms are pristine.

The staff was very friendly, but unfortunately did not comfort the schmuddlige, small rooms. We're not coming back.

It's our second time staying here and I was very pleased with our service. It's a Motel 6. Absolutely no frills. But the night staff was friendly and insisted on giving us the beach side view when he heard of our troubles. Quiet, and clean.

Nice in good condition near the beach to go out for a walk.

I was so disappointed. Always assumed this was a great space due to location. We left the Carpenteria North (which was awesome and had great staff) to flee the Thomas Fire area. First room, first night was in a moldy smelly room. Staff gave me air freshener. No offer to change room even though hotel was not remotely full. Second night I insisted we change rooms. This room did not have a functioning air conditioner. Sounded like the condenser started going out. Spent the night in a hot room, which we couldn't open the windows to due to the air quality from the fire outside. In the am I went to front desk (was booked for 7 days) and asked the staff to have maintenance check the air conditioner. Was told I shouldn't be running it. Hmm. Can't open windows due to air quality and can't run the air conditioner. Guess I was supposed to just die in there and wait till my body was found. I told them I would check out at noon. (when I checked in they were upset I paid in cash) Asked them to make sure by noon (4 hours away) that they had cash to give me my refund. Noon came, no cash. I got the distinct feeling after manager went to back, he pulled cash from his own account. Whole things was bizarre and cheesy. Will never recommend. Asked for a partial refund for night with no air. They just pretended not to understand me. Still waiting. Not sure why Motel 6 is charging standard rates anyway during a fire when all amenities cannot be use and hotel is not in demand.

Start with the pros — — affordable, considering it's Santa Barbara, it's a five-minute walk to the beach, and they allow pets. Cons — — none of the basics, even for a Motel 6 such as: placard for 'do not disturb' or to clean the room, a mini fridge, a coffee machine, iron/ironing board, hairdryer. Those are all basic amenities that should be in every motel, even the lower priced ones. The staff was very nice. The room was clean. Checking in and out was easy. They charge for Wi-Fi, which is just so-so in terms of speed. The light went out in the bathroom for a while, then suddenly came back on in the middle of the night.

Fish house the restaurant you have to eat times go world class.

Location was awesome! Hard to beat. Staff and service was friendly and helpful. Note to guests about key cards and cell phone would be helpful. Mine kept getting blanked and not working, staff mentioned that it might be from my cell. Double rooms were a squeeze but the single ones were great. Internet could have been included instead of having to update every day!

Everything excellent, room clean and comfortable, a little small but correct. Good swimming pool and excellent location close to the beach. I solved all my problems, they let me do late check out without charging extra charge. Everything perfect. Very satisfied.

I was very impressed with Motel 6 and feel that the new design helps reboot the brand. The staff at the front were incredibly helpful and warm, and I appreciate the complimentary coffee and tea in the morning. The location is incredible (one short block to East Beach), and the rooms are a comfortable size. I did not expect a fridge and microwave, so that was a pleasant surprise. The laminate hardwood floors help the rooms feel exceptionally clean, and they are also nice if you have a small pet you are traveling with (as I did! ). There is also a nice sized pool area if you feel like chilling at the hotel property. My only critique is that the water pressure in the shower was a little low, and the doors between the bathroom and living space did not afford much privacy, but these drawbacks are very small in comparison to the rest of what you get for your dollar.

The room was really cramped with no room between the beds and the little table. We were constantly bumping in to furniture and each other. The towels were small, thin and we only had one each — which didn't work as we were spending time at the beach and needed a couple of showers a day. Was surprised that there was only one tiny bar of soup (no shampoo, body wash etc. ). We paid over $500 for 2 nights (we've paid this or even less for much nicer places) — but it was a holiday weekend so I think some price gouging was going on. Location was great and the room was pretty clean but those would be the only real pluses.

Great location, the staff was very friendly and assertive. The room was good I only wish it was a little bit bigger and that the beds were queen size. But overall great for the price!

We can only recommend this motel for anyone who is looking for a simple and clean place to stay in Santa Barbara. The location and price make it even more interesting as you have maybe 50m to the beach and a very reasonable price. The staff was very helpful with every kind of inquiry. If you need Wi-Fi in the motel you have to pay for it but that worked fine for us as we spend the day at the beach anyway. Thank you for a nice and clean room we hopefully can come back one day…

We were very comfortable during our stay. We walked to the next corner and watched the fireworks! Room was not worth the price, but I know it was because of the location. Everyone I spoke to in the office was very friendly and helpful!

My daughters and I surprised my husband for a Father's Day weekend getaway. He had never visited Santa Barbara and our experience at the Motel 6 was exceptional. We were one block from the beach and even had an ocean view just outside our motel door. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. There was daily housekeeping services where they cleaned the room and also replenished the towels. Coffee in the office and plenty of parking. The rooms were very quiet and the staff was so nice. We will definitely be visiting this Motel 6 again in the near future.

The Motel 6 located behind the hyatt, is less then a block away from the beach. The motel itself is what you would expect from a motel 6 but the prices are a bit high but that mostly due to their proximity to the water. The rooms themselves have a bit to be desired but their not the worst. Mostly it's the best option that have if you are on a bit of a budget but still want to be near the water.

Good location, but that is reflected in the high price. Got one of the rooms w/a microwave & fridge for $7 extra. For the almost $200 I paid for one night, those should be standard. It was very quiet & clean.

The very first Motel Motel6 network, the sea can be seen from the rooms. Parking under the window, walking distance to State str. 15 Minutes. Motel, motels, like the summer of expensive fall 90 dollars.

Barebones, they don't provide any amenities. Great location. Thin noisy walls. Pet friendly with no fee.

You get what you pay for. It is the bare necessities. If you want more, then you will have to pay more. It provided us exactly what we needed though on holiday weekend. One bonus is that they are dog friendly and do not charge an extra fee for your dog!

The location and price were great. Our "non-smoking" room came complete with ash trays and an AC unit some one had freshly puked in!

I was very pleased with this hotel. Beautiful location and I could see the ocean from my room. It is within walking distance too many restaurants which made it very convenient. Nicely redone room, comfortable bed and helpful friendly staff. I will definitely stay there again and will tell my friends about it.

My 12 year-old daughter and I wanted to spend a few days in Santa Barbara before school starts, and chose this motel for the price and the location. First and foremost, the location is PERFECT! We came in on the Amtrak, and relied solely on SB public transportation. All of the SB must-sees are easily within trolley, walking, busing distance. The staff here was VERY accommodating… we were only in our room to sleep and shower, so the amenities served their purpose.

Ewww silverfish here stay somewhere else unless you dont mind them. Also the maid is very rude.

The price was not bad at $120 per night but, we were very disappointed about the size of the room, the bed was hard and got a back ache sleeping and was could not close window all the way which made it very noisy. To charge for internet service is unacceptable, and it only works on one device at the time. There was no shampoo and towels in the room and when I asked for three towels, maid had an attitude. Will not be going back to this specific motel.

Friendly manager and staff, clean rooms, comfy beds and spacious bathrooms. Not your average 'motel' by any means. Great place on budget and close to everything (beaches, shops and restaurants).

As a retired person I need to get good value for my money. Motel 6 did it for me in Santa Barbara and I'd go back again.

Wonderful location on the beach. Unfortunately, there is no washing machine available.

Overpriced. No cofee machine, freezer, hairdryer or microwave.
