This is a beautifully restored turn of the century hotel with corresponding beautiful furnishings. Great to imagine life in early SF. Love the elevator. Not air conditioned, but fan in room. Since you can open windows you will hear street noise, but it didn’t bother us. There seems to be a lot of rules. Think of this as a owner owned B&B (without the breakfast). After seeing breakfast prices at local cafes, $2.50 for a bowl of cereal or bagels doesn’t seem bad. If you like a B&B experience, you will like this hotel.

Beautiful Victorian house, non-standardized rooms, beautiful and warm. You can have tea in porcelain cups, served with raisins and cherry. The staff is very friendly, with an unusual warmth, everything works very well.

Sooooooo noisy. Suite did not have 2 beds as we were led to believe. But rather a bed and a terrible pull out couch. Old hotel with an odd smell. I guess it is the wood. Cute glass elevator. On the northern border of Tenderloin. So dont walk south. Street noise was awful. I know its a city, but it was real bad. Very very steep side street. That at least gave a great view up a really short mini skirt walking ahead of me.

Location is great and the staff very kind and helpful. We had a very small room, with a (relative) huge bathroom. Nice to see that lots of the elements are still quite classic, including their elevator.

Well placed but ridiculously small room, I thought I had to leave the suitcases in the hallway!

Location, location, location. Nice staff. Classical Victoria accoutrements. Close to Trolley and buses but on the hill! We'll be back.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, rooms are small, but everything you need is there. Considering how expensive hotels get in this area, this place is a great value!

This was one of the coolest places I've been. Friendly staff, clean super cute vintage rooms! The whole experience was amazing!

The suite was huge and pretty. BUT (big BUT), management nickle and dimes the guests horribly. $390 a night, but then they charge $2.50 for an orange or a tiny bowl of cereal? That's so ridiculous, it's embarrassing. Breakfast should be free at these prices. And the coffee was really really bad.

This hotel is as far from standard as you can get. It's individual and quirky and fabulous. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable and there's complimentary tea and sherry every afternoon. The general manager Mehrnaz is welcoming, beautiful and fabulous. We were given an upgrade to a corner suite and the additional space was amazing: huge bedroom with a brass bed and fireplace and a separate sitting room with an additional TV and hand basin. There were plenty of electric sockets too for an older property. A memorable stay in a memorable city.

Lovely place. Highly recommend.

Very quaint and clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable queen bed. Not much drawer space. No air conditioning. Windows open for cooling but, depending on location of room, can get street noise. Bath/shower could be problem if you have any mobility problem. Really enjoyed afternoon tea, sherry and cookies.

Clean rooms, very helpful staff, decent location. Only 2 people allowed in rooms even if they are just visiting.

Not only was our room charming, but the staff was so helpful and excellent during our stay! They really helped make our first trip to San Francisco amazing.

Great location, 3 steps from the Center, quiet and clean hotel. In addition, hospitality is lovely, really feels "guest". Tea and cakes in the living room around 4 p. M. Charming old England etc. It is recommended.
