Great place for anyone to enjoy! History and love combining real people and the family of veterans who we don’t see every day.

We celebrated the Corps’ 246th birthday with MMC and had a wonderful time! Everything was expertly done from Cocktail Hour, to the Ceremony, to having the honor of listening to the SgtMaj of the Marine Corps speak as Guest-of-Honor. 🦅🌎⚓️

Great staff, food was delicious, the history and proud heritage of these patriots is on display and makes me proud, grateful and humble to be an American.

From the Lobby to the Flying Leatherneck Lounge, the Library and dining facility are all amazing. This time we were able actually stay in one of the guest rooms. Everything was meticulous and tidy. The tributes and endless historical photos are captivating and create an unforgettable environment to honor all those who have served and sacrificed. It makes me feel proud and so fortunate to belong to a fraternity of patriots — — brothers and sisters who paved the way for me and others to serve this country. "… If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heavens scenes; they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines".

Attended an Industry Luncheon today. The chef, the food and wait staff were all very good. Highly recommend.

The room was very large for a Union Square hotel, and the restaurant (where complimentary breakfast was served every morning! ) had amazing views. And the hotel staff seemed happy and were friendly. I think this hotel is a great deal for San Francisco!

It was an amazing time around very friendly people and great hospitality.

Free breakfast. No resort fee. Pets friendly and no charge. 5-7 walk to Union Square. 9minutes walk to China’s famous dumplings. 15-20mns walk to Pier 39. The price is unbeatable. More than 5stars. Plus it supports our Veterans.

This is the best deal going to stay in the city. Excellent service and rooms, wonderful atmosphere and perfect location. We never stay anywhere else. And, they have bulldogs!

Gorgeous views from the 12th floor bar and restaurant. Rooms are beautifully appointed. Service is lovely. Staying at the Marine Memorial Club is truly an amazing and unique experience.

Love the history that is all around you! Happy Hour has good drinks & the breakfast is better than some of the other hotels. Our room was a standard & I wish we had a better view than a wall, but I am definitely going to stay here again!

Decent price if you're active duty military. Free breakfast in the morning was pretty good. Not a fan of $45 parking, but I guess that's just a SF thing, not necessarily specific to the hotel. Overall nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Walls are very thin though.

Great hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Very good breakfast and served on the top floor where you dominate the whole city, to try the omelettes cooked on the spot. Maybe the prices are a bit high, but it still deserves the 5 stars.

The hotel has an excellent location, the rooms are clean and manicured. Breakfast on the top floor offers you a quality meal with fabulous views. In the atrium you can see Navy memorabilia!

The neighborhood is OK. You are situated right near shopping and the cable car. Breakfast is above average. It has a real gym and a lap pool in the basement. The rooms are the only below average aspect of the hotel. My room had several outlets that did not function and the fridge was noisy. Otherwise it was a great stay.

Rooms are big. Nice staff. Bed was comfortable. Only complaint: Carpet was gross. Bare feet were sticky and dirty after walking on it. Breakfast was awesome.

It was perfect for our needs. We were visiting the city for a few days and the hotel is clean, comfortable with a great location. After walking around all day with our young boys we were exhausted and thought it best not to press our luck and eat out. Room service was very accommodating and allowed us yummy food without leaving our room or getting dressed up. Hopefully we'll be back again.

Great place. All of the staff were extremely nice. The location is center to everything. I especially appreciated the dress code. No trashing looking people in the bar or restaurant and no one on their phones. My favorite place to stay in San Francisco.

This hotel is very centrally located and beautifully decorated with USMC pride. Their restaurant and bar overlooks the city and every aspect of the hotel pays tribute to the Marine Corps. There is live piano music with dinner. We were upgraded to the executive suite, which had a full board room style table, sitting area, desk, mini fridge, king size bed, and very large bathroom with the toilet and big tub separate from the sink and closet area. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in built-in pumps; lotion, makeup remover wipe, and soap were also provided separately in the bathroom. Overall, a great experience!

I’ve stayed here many times. Great staff, good breakfast, with access to a gym during your stay. Two restaurants, an Italian and a Steakhouse with full bar that has great views of the city. The hotel is within walking distance to lots of shopping, restaurants, public transportation, and museums like the SF Museum of Modern art.

Still trying to find the catch. The staff was awesome, very reasonably priced, nice rooms, and one of the best breakfast buffets I've had (and it was included). Highly recommend.

Great hotel in a prime location! You really can't beat the rooms and amenities at this price point anywhere! Free happy hour with a good selection and an included hot breakfast that includes an omelet station! I joined for the club discount and I WILL be back!

My husband's graduation ceremony was held here this past Friday. He graduated from GGU. It was a very nice building. The theatre had Comfy seats and there was plenty of fresh air.

Great location near Union Square and nice accommodations. The only hotel at which I've stayed that provided access to a lap pool, though I wasn't able to use it. This hotel is as much a museum to Marines as it is a place to stay in a popular area of San Francisco. Provides a great breakfast included in the price as well as a nice free cocktail hour in the afternoon. Staying at this hotel should be on every Marines bucket list. I said goodnight to Chesty Puller every evening on the way to my room.

Marine Memorial was an amazing place to stay. Great location in the heart of San Fransisco. Enabled us to bounce around and see everything very easily! Recommend to anyone and everyone! It is a must stay. Oh and you can’t beat the breakfast and 2 hour happy hour daily!

The Hotel is very expensive.

Very reasonably priced for service members. In the middle of down town San Francisco and within walking distance of many of the great sights in SF. They offer free breakfast (delicious) in the morning and free drinks for MMA members from 4-6pm.

I have been a member of the Marines Memorial Association for several years. It is a lovely place to stay when in town. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The library, with its wonderful book collection, is a nice quiet place to spend and hour or two. The bar and restaurant are very pleasant and the views from the window tables are gorgeous. As a retired officer and a fourth generation San Franciscan, I am really pleased that this lovely hotel and club is located in the heart of San Francisco.

I attended a talk by an author who was on a book tour, so I never actually went into any rooms. However, my limited experience was great. The staff were very helpful and courteous, the lobby and theater were clean, the artwork and memorabilia were beautiful and interesting; overall a fantastic experience.

Very cool hotel. They have a great bar on the top floor and a good Italian restaurant on the corner. I go here monthly and it's always great service.

Went to a conference on the 10th floor but did not stay here, so my review just relates to the general atmosphere and suitability for events. I found it quaint and well appointed, a nice alternative to the typical generic hotel venue. You can tell the building has a lot of history. It's not well set up for private meeting spaces but the general meeting area was very pleasant. I'd consider hosting an event here.

I love staying here. Lovely rooms, central downtown location, and the breakfast included with your stay is top notch! Also a beautiful venue for a wedding reception — a great value (for SF), it came with all the furniture and trimmings; even the cake is included! The catering menu was very good, and they host big tasting events for potential clients twice a year, so you can sample the food, wine and cake options in advance.

Beautiful ball rooms on the upper levels. Wonderful wait staff and prompt service. Clean and simple. Not overly ornate or gaudy.

Extremely friendly staff. Very decent room amenities and very clean. Older hotel, with some old almost antique like furniture, but very well maintained! As a member, expect to enjoy extraordinary almost unbelievable benefits such as free happy hour and a free, top-notch, full American breakfast. I don’t think I’ll ever stay at any other hotel in San Francisco unless it’s free or someone else is paying.

Very courteous and professional. Rooms were small but cosy. The parking was a bit expensive due rousing a public garage but it was close by (right down the street in the same block on the left). Breakfast was great and the other patrons seemed very pleased overall. Worth a stay.

Been here for a conference. Excellent catered food. Good space for talk and keynotes. Elevators and bathrooms are a little old, but part of the charm is that it's an older building. Great location. Walking distance to anywhere Downtown.

Beautiful interior. Went to the theater part to watch a musical, and it was really easy to see/hear everyone. Theater was very intimate, which was great. Bar is cash only.

Small theater. From any seat, you can see fine. Downside is that there is only a small number of bathrooms so lines can take up to the full intermission. There is a bar and some tidbits to purchase.

Attended a meeting on the 10th floor. Getting up was very easy, there was a greeter in the lobby directing arrival to the event. Space was a food layout for a meeting breakfast and a coffee break with registration before it all. The food was good, not amazing but no complaints. Space was a little small overall for the size of the group, got bottle necked for breaks and departure in all areas. Bathrooms upstairs was a little strange but not a big problem. Biggest complaint would be that there were no picture of water on the tables during g meeting, it was warm it the room and disruptive to leave to get a glass of water. The space was a bit worn — stains on the chairs, frayed table clothes and carpet. It is an older building so I understand the style and did not expect it to be anything other than it was style wise. Personally would not plan an event here.

Very great place from the small amount of time I was there. Really plan on getting a room to have the experience and see the actual rooms. The bar/restaurant was nice! Only place I have ever seen a bar serve Blantons Whiskey.

Staff were very helpful. Our room, though dated, was very comfortable. Facilities well located. There are were however some hiccups, these were rectified by staff. However, they should never have occurred to begin with.

Unbelievably clean & great customer service. Without a doubt the best intercontinental breakfast I've ever had and the most relaxing happy hour I've ever attended. I'll definitely be returning if I ever make my way to San Francisco again.

Awesome staff who feel like family and delicious food! Views from dining area on 12th floor are amazing as well. Honoring those marines who have fallen, on the floor our room was located, was so touching too! Love that this place is dedicated to active military and veterans and their families, giving them a reasonable place to stay in San Francisco. The exhibits in the lobby honor USMC and all US military branches, with all the paintings and live Chestys at check-in too! Very cool and touching place.

We went to a concert at the Marines' Memorial Club & Hotel. It was easy to get to and find where we were supposed to go for the concert; everyone we interacted with there was kind and helpful. As for the theater where the concert took place, the sound was great, seating was comfy, and we had an overall fantastic time. When the concert ended, it didn't take long to exit like it sometimes does at events. There was a long line at the women's restroom, but that wasn't much of a wait. Overall, I'd attend a concert there again and would recommend it if there's someone performing you'd like to see.

Very cheap for active duty (and I assume retired) military. Rooms are luxurious and exceptional, a little small but certainly high quality, comfortable, and clean. Climate controls actually work, which seems sad to say nowadays. The breakfast is fantastic. If you don't like made-to-order omelettes, I don't think we should be friends. No, you don't have to get an omelette but why wouldn't you? The correct answer is indeed silence. Happy hour is free, so make sure you get there before 6pm! Only complaint I have is that the bathrooms are small and the stand up shower had shampoo/body wash dispensers instead of individual mini bottles. Don't let the pictures of all the Marine Corps Generals and Command Sergeant Majors throughout the hallways pierce your soul. They will do that when you least expect it.

We had six women from all over the country come to San Francisco for a reunion of "nursing school girlfriends". I coordinated with Bertha to reserve Room 512 which is a suite and an adjoining Queen-Queen room. We also reserved one other room on the floor. Room 512 proved to be larger than I even hoped for. We had plenty of room to hang out on the nice sofa and chairs and around the large table with 6 leather chairs. We enjoyed the full breakfast (included in the price) every morning and had a large round table in the restaurant each day. We loved the happy hour. Bertha made sure all was perfect for our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back very soon.

Very unique hotel. So authentic very old building and decoration accordingly but very comfortable. Location is in the middle of everything. Parking is a little hassle since they don't have parking spot. They are sharing a parking area with another place couple building away. And 40 bucks per night. But hey this is San Francisco downtown, space is gold there.

Hotel is really nice with a great view from the restraunt at the top. Rooms are nice but perhaps a little dated especially in the bathroom. However, if you use a military discount it's the best hotel deal in the city.

We had lunch at Leatherneck Steakhouse on the top floor. The best part was the view; the food and service was fairly mediocre.

It was a wonderful stay. The guest servers were very pleasant, and the hotel was extremely nice!

Location is great! Near shopping centers. Restaurants are all close by. Room is clean and organized. Staff is helpful and ask if we need anything regardless of whether the room is being made up.

Stayed overnight and had dinner in the restaurant when I was in town to see a show at the Orpheum. The staff is extremely friendly, the rooms are very nice and well appointed, and the food was excellent. Both my room and the restaurant had beautiful views of the city. Definitely planning a return trip!

Amazing staff in historic building which is then stuffed full of more history. If you are a Marine or a fan of them, just stop by and browse the amazing memorabilia.

This place is cool and dedicated to Marines. They have a very solid happy hour for guests of the hotel at the bar/restaurant on the top floor. It's surrounded by glass so you can get a pretty awesome view of the city. I ordered the burger for dinner, it was pretty delicious. While it's not my scene and everything was good, I would probably not return unless I had friend staying there.

Great unique place. I recommend. Clean rooms great staff super history as a hotel for the armed forces beginning with marines. Bathroom was super small and had no shelf by sink for anything. But hey that was only 10 min of my stay.

Very well located, one block from Union Square, near the shopping area. There is a full gym on the lower lever with whom they have an agreement so hotel customers can use it and access it directly from the elevators. Our room was a tad small but comfortable. Breakfast on the 12th floor was very good, they even have an omelette station where a chef prepares them right in front of you.

Had a huge charity event at the Marines Memorial club. The event was huge success and the service and execution from the hotel's end was great! Food was served on time and was adequate quantity!

We are members and have stayed at the Marine Club numerous times. We have always been treated with courtesy and respect the food is very good the breakfast buffet fantastic. The discounted parking is an added benefit. It is centrally located and the price makes it one of the best deals in the Bay Area.

Strategically located practically in the Centre, old hotel but well maintained and clean enough.

Nice rooms. Nice beds, great breakfast buffet and happy hour. The basic room is a little small but I only sleep there. The location of the hotel is wonderful and close to much of San Francisco. As a member there the rate is great.

An incredible hotel full of friendly and helpful staff that is great for people of all ages! Not only is it a great place for newcomers, it is also good for retired and currently serving military servicemen and women, showing them the respect they deserve. Five stars deservingly earned.

It is not worth full price. Only worth staying if you are a member/active duty and get the member discount. They are pet friendly with no extra charge which is great. Parking was 35 a night. Room was clean/decent. Neat lobby and hotel hallways with lots of marine memorabilia. The breakfast buffet was pretty bad and bland. One day I found mold on the fruit and the next day mold on the bread. They quickly fixed the issue but still gross. Luckily breakfast is free for hotel guests otherwise it is 22 bucks a person. Def not worth it.

The restaurant at the top of the Marines' Memorial Hotel is a great hidden gem in the city. The views from the bar are awesome and worth the visit. The bartenders are friendly and they make a decent cocktail. I haven't eaten here but it is a great spot to stop by and have a drink and a snack. Highly recommend.

This is a basic club with good value. Rooms are clean, beds and linens are decent. I really like their bar and at happy hour you'll have some great conversations with veterans and serving members alike. Food was ok but nothing special. I found the staff friendly. Great place to stay in SF.

My wife and I recently spent 5 days there. Food was excellent, Happy Hour was Happy, views were great and the room fine. Enjoyed the Business Center with coffee, rolls and ice tea/lemonade in the afternoons. Well thought out. I found the staff very responsive, but the gift shop didn't have the right sizes. Overall, a great time.

Best place to stay in SF Union Square! With your stay you get free Happy hour from 4-6 daily with a beautiful view of the city, along with an awesome breakfast buffet in the morning. I would highly recommend anyone to stay. Great place for former, and current military to mingle.

Active duty US or Canadian military? Traveling with your pet? Stop your search right now. This hotel offers the best value in SF. Member rate is offered to active duty military. Very pet friendly — they allow you to leave your pet in the room and they don't charge outrageous pet fees. Parking is $30 per 24 hours. This place is a museum so keep that in mind. Don't expect a chic modern hotel.

I recently stayed with my husband and 2 toddlers. My husband is active duty and we got a nice discount. Everything else in the San Fran area, was way too expensive. Parking was $30 a day no matter how long you stayed in the parking garage. PROS: Comfy beds, hot shower, Flat screen TV, fridge in room (no microwave), Keurig with coffee and tea, hot buffet breakfast at the top of the building (nice view for pictures), very polite staff, walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. I didn't use the fitness center so I cannot review about that. CONS: small rooms so hard with 2 little ones, small bathroom with no counter space, shower head is very short, room was very hot and took almost a full day to cool off enough to be comfortable, probably could have been cheaper but it's San Fran so the cost is to be expected.

I have been a member for 20 years and this club has gone on a very steep slope to 1 star ratings the last few years. The food is almost decent now while overpriced and rude employees seem to find glee being that way `especially` the managers that hate their jobs since so angry. We used to book our stays around the entertainment and came in last month to find they lost the best thing there? Bad management and the food is never prepared properly! Why did you ruin my club?
