Terrible experience! No hot water (then they said you have to wait 10 minutes), my room door didn't close well, is messy and not clean, the elevator is very very old and feels so insecure, it smells like pine all over the place, set a wake up call and I am still waiting for it. Please do not stay at this place, is no worth it in any sense. For the same price you can find much much better things!

Worst place ever! do not stay here! we stayed 3 night out of our 4 night stay simply because it was too late to change. The hotel is disgusting, the sheets had stains, the toilet had poo and pubic hair on it, the furniture had gunk on it which transferred to my clothing when I leaned on a chair. This was all within 5mins of checking in! we changed rooms to a slightly better one but still the unbearable smell of urine was enough to keep us out for most of the day until our dreaded return to the hotel. its in a horrible area and only 1 street away from Ellis street which is full of homeless and drug dealers. i emailed my concerns regarding the hotel to the manager "raj" in which no response was ever received. we checked out early and it was a very satisfying moment to be leaving that place never to return again!

Let me preface this review with this. We were supposed to stay at this hotel but, chose not to, here's why: The closer we got to the hotel, the more nervous my family got. The neighborhood clientele were to say the least interesting, especially the bums who got into a fight on the street corner. When we turned the corner the hotel had no place to park. Any chance of staying was overruled by the need to ensure the safety of my family. Could the hotel been a nice place to stay? Possibly but the risk/fear factor created by its location overruled any change of finding out.

The attention is good but the building is old dirty very small the rooms smell like wet carpets dirty. Good location.

Perfectly fine hotel in a good location. Wifi, shower, TV, bed all fine. Friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel is great… The area you have to have some night care.

The front desk associates were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was extremely small and the beds were alright. It was a super 8 motel and sort of what you'd expect, no frills room that did meet expectations. Not anything fancy or spacious but usable for the tourist visiting the city for a day and only using the room for sleeping.

Dirty. There were stains on the sheets and towels. Large traces of excrement on the inner side of the bed! Breakfast in the reception which is less than 2 square meters! Only positive spot L location.

Nice for a short stay if you need a place to sleep. It's an old building with character. Wish our room would have had some hot water, but other than that not too shabby.

The staff were very friendly and friendly. Breakfast was quite complete for the type of hostel (mould bread, cereals, waffles, baggels, bananas, milk, juice and pastries).
The room was quite cramped but the beds were big and had a boudoir apart.
The location was very good.

Room small and run down, tap at the end of the roll, noisy area at night, but it must be recognized that the location is ideal.

We had a really great experience in this hotel. The room was small but enough for us since we only planned on sleeping there while getting out and about most of the time. The service was always top class: reception was consistently friendly and helpful; and the housekeeping was exceptional. The rate was very reasonable for San Francisco. Just sad to see so many homeless around, but this is the reality of much of this amazing city.

If you would like to stay where there is no air conditioning and the sink is filled with unknown spots of brobably former residents. This is the best place. My experience was as I checked in and walked into the room in a cold night of December I turned in the air conditioning to heating. It did not work! Then I went to the staff (Manooj) and ask led him to do something about it. He did nothing, exactly nothing so I had to call Expedia Where I booked this bloody room to complain because that’s wasn’t what I signed up for. They did not return any peny! So I decided to let everyone knows my experience that they might be in a similar one.

Great staff, but the whole building is seriously dated. I got a good rate as I have a friend who works with Wyndham hotels. But the reduced rate is all I would have paid. For little more I could have stayed next door at the Hilton. The breakfast room is quite small for the size of hotel, and it took forever to get the meager amount of food they supplied. The Elevator was dated and felt like I was going to die every time it stopped. Other than this, the location was great and the lobby was inviting. The staff were very helpful and understanding with anything I needed. 2 stars, but I'd stay here again if I was on a short trip, but definitely not for another week plus.

Hotel was quiet and had full enclosed hallways. Breakfast is very minima and no Fitness Center. Hotel does have guest laundry. Wife is fast but not reachable in all rooms. Good location very close to Union Square.

The best part of this hotel is the location. The room I stayed was adequate, though the bathroom was cramped and outdated. I also could not find an outlet near the head of my bed. The bed itself was comfortable, the staff was friendly, and again, the location was perfect for the conference I was going to in union square.

We were given a suite room (with a separate living area) for 7 nights as an upgrade, BUT had to change rooms back to a basic room as the hot water in the shower was non existent and the only time we got a weak stream of warm water was between 8 pm and 10 pm! They didn't know how to fix this problem other than move us. The whole room and in fact the entire 5 th floor also smelt like bad room deodorizer and effected our breathing. This hotel should only be used for a very short stay, as it does include a basic continental breakfast and the beds were ok but that is all it has going for it. Our other family members room on the 2 nd floor had such thin walls that they were kept up till the small hours with a live band playing BOLLYWOOD music loud enough that they were able to record it on their phones. This happens apparently every weekend. Save your money and go some where else!

Bad Wi-Fi connection. A little room but very well located hotel.

Old hotel, but quaint. Our 1 bedroom was divided into a living area and bedroom. Hotel breakfast was very basic, but enough.

The location was perfect but the person who cleans the room failed to clean the shower. The old soap from the previous tenant was still in the shower. Also, you may not want to turn out the lights in the bathroom because you'll see a few roaches. It's best to pay more and stay at the Hilton 2 doors up.

Simple room with the necessities. For the price and location, it's hard to beat. Free breakfast is always nice. Close to Ubion Square and the BART, you're never far from anything.

Stayed here for a quick 2 night stay. Was a little worried when we pulled up and realized we were in the Tenderloin district. I had only heard horrible things about the area. But during the day, district was fine. Wouldn't risk walking around at night. Hotel staff was very nice. Accommodated us with an early check in and valet parking ($30 a day with in and out privileges). Elevator was a little rickety but got used to it. Finding room was kind of like a maze, but made it fun :-) ** HEADS UP ** I ran into an issue with my bank where the hotel charged me 3 separate charges (1 charge for parking and 2 additional charges for each night). But once I got home, one of the charges fell off and the other 2 are pending still, but they still charged me the full amount, so if you can pay in cash, should be a better option for you can have an extra $600 coming out of your account. I spoke with them (which they are very hard to understand), but they said they are "holds" and will go back on the card. So be prepared for that. Room was clean but small. Bathroom was nice size. Took awhile for the hot water to come in. But once it did, made for a nice shower. Even being in such a busy area, I expected to hear the downtown noise, but the hotel was quiet and so was the noise from outside. Didn't hear a peep. Bed was comfortable. Overall glad we stayed here, just wish I would have been in a better part of town. There is 2 Starbucks within walking distance.

Slow survive, cramped lobby, acceptable room. Not bad but there's better choices for a similar price unless you have a discount or everything else is booked.

Surprisingly decent rooms for sketchy but central location. Elevator is a little scary. Staff aren't super quick.

Fire the price it's kinda a dump. Rooms are tiny, smell, and have a window ac that doesn't really keep the run at a constant temperature. I've stayed in nicer places in third world countries fit only a few bucks a night. The elevator seemed like it barely worked and had a letter posted from 2014 requesting a permit. Breakfasts was cereal and bread.

Great location in the Art District of Tendorloin. My room was clean and quiet. I look forward to coming back.

Expensive parking… why have to pay for parking when u r still paying to stay at the hotel? Not even a nice hotel… sorry cant give more than one star.

Night clu. Downstairs kept me up all night as music traveled through out hotel. When complained to staff they just shrugged shoulders. N walked away.

The Super 8 hotel is a pretty decent hotel in a good area at a 2 minutes walk from Union Square. Even if the exterior of the building may seem (and in fact is) quite old, rooms were clean but a little bit small. The bathroom was clean as well, you were provided with soap, towels and a hairdryer. The fridge made such a terrible noise in the night that I had to unplug it. Breakfast was included but is really poor, just some fruit and brioches in a tiny room. Wi-Fi is free in every room, reception was good but connection was painfully slow. San Francisco has homeless people everywhere, and O'Farrell Street is no exception.

Super 8 has super service. The only issue is that scary movie they made about super 8 this always makes me scared. But other wise great times at these locations.

This is not a good looking place, but for the price is right, I needed just one night and it was less than half the price that you encounter on Fisherman's Wharf or other on the same area, so is right if you don't wish to pay a lot lot more to be a little more comfortable. Other downside is that zone is full of indigents at day and specially at night, so if you are alone and need to feel very secure maybe choose other area.

Hotel was okay for what we wanted. The price was right. The Hotel is old and one can not expect it to be a five star accommodation. We have stayed at the Radisson, on the Wharf, but at more than double the price. We will stay at this hotel, again, when we come back to San Francisco.

Hotel would not provide a refund when I had to cancel on short notice due to the discovery that my passport was expired and I would not get into San Francisco on that date. Manager was very rude with my hotel booking agency regarding the issue. Buyer Beware.

This affordable hotel in union square San Francisco was a perfect stay. I was really impressed with housekeeping! They did an excellent job with the room. As a matter of fact, I've never had a better experience with cleaning. The front desk day staff was also incredibly attentive, kind, and informative. Thank you.
