Certainly the prices in San Francisco are high, that's what drove us to the Grove Inn
Nevertheless, nothing beats in this b that you spend so much money because the value is extremely poor.
First of all regarding the location, our room (number 14) overlooked an extremely noisy street, both day and night. So if you're looking for a little quiet, it's missed. To have so much noise, I recommend you go to a more central area, certainly you will also have noise but a little animation.
Regarding the room, the bedding is really ageing (we feel the springs), no catch next to the tables of nights so impossible to charge his phone by keeping it nearby. No dresser to store clothes but only a wardrobe (not practical to hang her panties on a hanger).
The room temperature is set by a central heating for all the building so impossible to have control over the temperature of your room. So it makes a huge heat (which is very bad for finding sleep), but don't think about opening the windows seen how noisy the street is.
As a woman, I also regret that there is not a single mirror in the room allowing you to see yourself on the right foot. The only mirror is a half mirror in the bathroom without daylight. A thick old carpet in the entire room which has a very poor cleanliness.
The bathroom (with toilet) is very dated. The shower curtain is aged and has old yellow traces.
On the side of the sink, there is not even a soap door, so your soap slides on the marble. The faucet was poorly laid so it floods the worktop with every use.
Of course no minibar in the room, nor even the possibility of buying a small bottle of water at the reception. You can use a common fridge in the living room but it closes from 8 pm so do not come back too late if you want to access your water bottle.
The breakfast is really mediocre. First of all, let's talk about the reception. The girl is in front of her computer and does not even turn to say hello when you greet her. It's kind of like home with a common table. Very limited choice (cheeses are babibel and laughing Cow), muffins are stored several days in advance (they are seen in the boxes in the living room). Orange juice is a very low end industrial juice. The only interest of this very breakfast is not to leave the belly empty.
After 8:00 pm, more staff in the hotel so if you run out of toilet paper, you just have to go out and buy them out.
It is totally impersonal and contradictory with the usual warm spirit of a B. Besides, since we arrived two nights ago, no one asked us if everything was going well for us.
We still have six nights left and we are really reluctant to change our location.
In any case I really advise you very strongly the Grove Inn.
