We stayed over the night before a cruise. In the morning they had a shuttle that takes you to the port. They will also pick you up from the port at the end of the cruise with a simple phone call when you're off the boat. They have safe long term parking on site as well. The room was very nice and looked like it had recently been completely renovated. Our room had 2 beds and a roll away and did not feel cramped at all even with 5 of us in the room. My only note is that the Continental breakfast was a little lackluster but it was a minor issue and I still give them 5 stars.

Loved the hotel! The rooms and public areas were fantastic! Very modern and cozy and fun. Only reason for the lower stars are that the Wi-Fi did not work in my room and nobody could tell me why. I believe the issue was that the signal didn't make it far enough to get a stable connection. This was the only letdown. Everything else was fantastic!

Stayed here many times over the years while attending an annual sporting event. Some improvements have been made but it's still not the greatest place. Not my choice of hotel, it was a group choice. Not very accessible. The pool was closed with no explanation for the entire three days we were there. There was mold in the shower. Air conditioner was noisy. Employees were nice.

Look, this is a budget motel/ pseudo hotel. That said, the staff was incredibly nice. The room was clean. The pool was fun and I am not a pool person at all. So for the price I paid ($120 a night) it was great.

Beautiful property. You can tell they really did some time renovating. Bed was soft and great, room was very modern, and staff was very friendly. Also had beautiful landscape and pool area. Pool was also 9 ft deep.

Nice stay before our cruise, parking included with our night. Shuttle within a five minute radius but set a pickup time because there is no guarantee that the driver won't be busy. Friendly staff. Pool looked nice didn't have time to use it.

The staff is very kind and accommodating. You get good value for money. I would stay here my next time in SoCal. The best rooms are by the pool on the first floor, so make the request but dont complain if you dont get one. Be positive and enjoy your life. The soaps and lotions are heavenly. And the rooms are well decorated, clean, and "current"

The hotel Current has lovely rooms and great accommodations. I recommend bringing your own water since the 16 oz cardboard cartons of water they leave in the hotel room are 5 dollars each. Otherwise the rooms and service is adequate.

Great value for what you pay. Parking my car for 7 days at the harbor would have easily been $120. With the shuttle service you don't have to worry about that, and you don't have to try to figure out traffic through the harbor.

Recent stay before cruise out of Long Beach. We left our vehicle there while cruising. Booking, checking in and out were seamless. Rooms were wonderful and clean. The shuttle drivers were awesome. Will definitely stay here again.

This place was nice and quiet and tucked away across the street from a golf course in Long Beach. The rooms were spacious and modern. Hardwood floors in our room. Very clean and close to the beach and freeway.

Great hotel and fantastic staff, couldnt fault anything. Its an older style but has been updated and the renovations are excellent. Great pool area and the room (we had 2 double beds) was spacious.

Was there to visit a friend who was staying overnight. The room looked clean and nice. However, there was no wall despising the tub to the bedroom, only a shower curtain… which is very weird.

In Long Beach to play a show with the band and stayed here because it looked like a chill place and reviews stated how nice staff were. Let me tell you those reviews don't lie. The staff are very good. Our room was great and the vibe of this place is just perfect. Next time we're in town we will definitely be staying here. Thank you very much for a pleasant hospitality experience.

Inadequate & inconvenient parking. Road noise. Comfortable bed at least.

Hotel was clean, quiet. We stayed only 1 night. Beds were comfy.

Outdated and not very well maintained furniture/decor also no microwave in rooms. The do not disturb sign does not mean anything to the cleaning ladies they just barge in.

Hotel Current lives up to the reviews, the ladies that check you on are courteous and helpful, the shuttle is great and the drivers are so nice and courteous. The pool and area around the pool are well maintained and very pretty, we enjoyed our room and the complimentary coffee and tea and the morning breakfast was a nice addition. My only concern is that walls seemed paper thin and you could easily hear conversations and noise in the adjacent rooms. There are several restaurants within walking distance and we loved the Italian restaurant!

Nice old style hotel. The pool area is awesome. Nice place to relax. Rooms are all modern. You can here noises from other rooms and outside. But it is a nice place to stay. They also offer sleep and ride. Where you leave your car when you go cruising. Staff was awesome. I would stay here again. You can't beat the value for sleep and ride.

Newly renovated rooms are very nice. The outside looks older but they do a great job inside the rooms and lobby of making it feel modern. The hotel was basically full but didn't hear any loud neighbors. They offer free breakfast but it's nothing special with precooked eggs and sausage, etc.

Very clean and more or less modern. Very comfortable. We were very well attended. Although we were already late to leave. They understand we're waiting for the bride. They were very kind. The view to the pool was father.

It's nice clean appears safe. Greets with a smile. Detailed, respectful, courtesy showed good customer service skill. YES I would most definitely stay here again. Continental breakfast. Shuttle pick ups and drop off. ROOM are large and clean. Great place.

Nice location and rooms. My only real complaint is that housekeeping slams the doors both when opening and closing them so basically starting pretty early in the morning my bed was shaking from the constant slam slam. I was hoping to get a little more sleep since the stuff I have to do is later tonight but everything else is great.

The hotel is nice and reasonably priced, but it doesn't have a hot tub and the doors for the rooms don't fit so you have to slam them to get them to actually close. That leads to a lot of slamming all day long that vibrates your room. The maids clean rooms starting at like 6am, which seems odd if they know the doors are so loud. Maid it hard to sleep.

Really enjoyed my night. The main bed was extremely comfortable but the pull out bed from the couch was really uncomfortable and the floor made a better solution. Kinda sad there was no hot tub by the pool but the lounging area by the pool was nice. The room was very nice and believe the price was good for what we got. Maybe got more than expected.

A motel that has been renovated. The rooms are nice enough for the price. It was the best deal we could find. Keurigs in the room. Comfy bed but we got black stains on our pillow and sheets. Our light turned off and on for no reason. The parking spots are ridiculously tight. We had a hard time looking for a spot at night when it became crowded with large vehicles that can't fit properly in their spots. (Update: seems like the parking spots were not all the same size and the difference was not marked. ) The free Wi-Fi sucked even if we managed to finally connect. Staff at front desk was friendly though. (****Updated review to one star. Saw a huge cockroach outside our room. We asked for non smoking room. They gave us adjoining rooms and our neighbors smoked weed in there room. The smell got into our room through the doors. I will never stay here again. )

We've been coming here for almost 20 years. Was very disappointed in the staff. We were promised a handicapped room by the pool. We booked in May. Got here and were told no rooms by the pool were available. Asked for the manager was told manager wouldn't be in till Wed. A supervisor would be available on Tuesday. I asked that the supervisor contact me. Didn't happen. As we sat by the pool we saw the clerk show someone a room by the pool and they got it. Manager will be hearing from me tomorrow.

We were very pleased with our choice to stay at Hotel Current the night before our cruise. The location was very convenient & the accommodations were above average. The pool area was inviting. The beds were comfortable. The front desk provided great customer service. The hotel has a cruise & park rate which was worth it to be able to leave our vehicle parked while we were on our cruise. I will definitely stay here again if in the area.

I've stayed here twice in the past 5 years, using their cruise package where you stay a night and then can park your car here for your cruise. They even include a free shuttle to the port. This would be great just on its own. But this hotel continually amazes me, I just love it! The ambiance is not something like your usual Holiday Inn or other big box hotel, and everything, right down to the desk chair and shower tile, it artfully chosen. I can't rave about this place enough!

This is great place to stay, my second time in a few years both experiences have been completely satisfactory. Clean room wonderful pool and great customer service. The shuttle and vehicle cruise storage more that makes this an affordable option.

Clean, great staff, and park and cruise was easy. Without a doubt we would stay here again.

This place was just good, not great. Comfortable beds, good shower, very nice smelling soap, and parking was good. The "free Wi-Fi" sucked. You could only connect two devices and ONLY if their network allowed it. We tried about ten times and just gave up. Hotels really need to work on this "free Wi-Fi" crap because it's so misleading and most of them have extremely low bandwidths. We paid $149 for one night, $166 with tax. I doubt I'll stay here again knowing what I know now, especially with the plethora of hotels from which to choose in Long Beach.

I wasn't sure what to expect based on the other reviews. It looks like a renovated 'retro' motel. However, the room findings are very contemporary. The bed is incredibly comfortable. The shower is wonderful. I can't say much about the free breakfast as I had to leave for work early. Parking can be a tight squeeze. Location isn't bad as it is easily accessible from the PCH and from the 405.

This is a motel. NOT a hotel. Arrived And a bunch of drink people were outside our room drinking and smoking. They were very load. Room was nice enough but the door to the bathroom was broken and wouldn't open. Had to have my friends get me out of it. Woke up the next morning and found a Roach. Had them come get it and fix the door. Came back late that night and found more roaches told to move and they wanted us to go two doors down. We checked out. Don't waste your money! Not worth the stars it says it is.

Had two suites for rooms which were used to get ready for our wedding. One suite was large with a king sized bed and two couches while the other suite only had a king size bed and no couches. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Dog fee was $50 for the entire stay. There was also a $20 hotel fee per night.

Reasonably clean and good accommodation with typical continental breakfast and a 9ft deep heated small pool. Staff is friendly. Breakfast lady grouchy. Breakfast/conference furnishing can really use new tables & chairs. This is actually a bit more of a motel than a hotel. Within walking distance are a couple places to eat, hangout, a liquor store, and a 7-11. The place is generally quiet but the walking noise from upstairs rooms can be heard though not overly annoying nor sharp.

Great Hotel, very comfortable bed, somewhat slow Wi-Fi access but still works ok. Lots of channels on the TV just like anywhere else. Very private rooms and very nice especially for the price. They have a nice modern touch to them with the fountain style sink in the vanity and a waterfall shower. It was a great experience. Very comfortable.

Nicest but priciest hotel in the area… outside looks very deceiving but a pleasant and impressive surprise when you enter your room… no walls between bathroom and bedroom which kinda m ade stuff uncomfortable as t times… nice pool good staff and excellent breakfast … very convenient shuttle service too.

My stay at hotel current was very short. I arrived late at night and left at 5am. The room was clean and the bathroom and shower was large.

Hotel Current is obviously an old hotel that has been updated. Well, it's time to update again. It seems as if the hotel was remodeled and then left to its own devices to remain "nice". Overall, our stay was not bad, but the hotel itself needs work. Upholstery is showing wear/stains, bathroom fixtures are rusting, etc.

I recently relocated to SoCAL, and I planned on staying in the Long Beach area until I get settled. First thing, every hotel and motel in the area of Long Beach was sold out the Saturday when I arrived. How is that even possible? Anyway, I was reluctant to ride past this place after seeing it on the internet (I called, but no answer). I pulled in, and the front desk person just so happen to save the day and had a room for me; a nice room at that. The hotel has a nice warm welcoming feeling. The rooms are nice, but the bathrooms are much nicer. The pool and pool area are great as well. The staff is very helpful as long as you're cordial and polite. They went beyond measures to help me the 5 days that I stayed there. The only thing that I don't like about this place, and it's very minor (probably petty of me), is they serve a full continental breakfast, but it's almost the same thing everyday. The breakfast is very good and there's a good selection, but maybe they can add a variety such as having bacon/ham instead of sausage everyday or French Toast/pancakes instead of waffles everyday. Overall, great experience. I would stay there again, and I would recommend it.

I am used to upscale hotels due to where my employer books me. I flew in very late one night and there wasn't a room in town. I called this place and they got me right in. The staff was helpful and friendly even at 2:00 am! The rooms are very modern and have been renovated also has a nice pool and lounge area. Very clean, the maintenance guys were out at 6:30 every morning sweeping the grounds. The continental breakfast is good as well. I usually stay away from Motels with the outside style doors, but this one was very surprising and very clean. No ANTS! Which seems to plague other Long Beach hotels… Must be the good maintenance crew!

Good place for a one night or two night stay, reasonably priced and close by to the beach. Nothing fancy but clean and as quiet as a hotel can be in that category. I would definitely stay there again.

We booked a room for Saturday night 5/18/13 through Hotwire and received a great price. The check-in time is at 3 p. M. But I called around 10 a. M. And was told that there wouldn't be a problem having our room ready early. The hotel is in a good centralized location, close to all areas of Long Beach. When we pulled up, this hotel looked clean and well kept. Wayne was working the desk and was very professional and helpful, he remembered my call from earlier in the day. It was explained that there is a free shuttle service within 5 miles leaving every 30 minutes. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The beds are very comfortable. The free breakfast served until 9:30 was awesome. Eggs, sausage, fresh waffles, fruit and much more. I would recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Long Beach area.

Stayed here in Nov 2011, the upgraded room was really good. Room was clean, comfortable and modern feel. Very friendly service (We made this reservation after dealing with the bad service and messed up booking at Hilton Long Beach). We also had snooze and cruise package, which included parking during our cruise and ride to the cruise port which worked out pretty well for us.

Do not stay here unless you are going to stay in the most expensive rooms. The other rooms have not been renovated and are not worth the money. I would have rather slept at the airport then this room! The beds felt like you were sleeping on a board. The heater was noisy and the sink dripped all night. Thank goodness my husbands job paid for this so there was no money out of my pocket. Still would never stay here again.

Not a bad place, the rooms are a little dated, and the back buildings do not have internet access b/c of their range from the lobby. If you are not spending much time in your room and just need a place to sleep, shower, and shave, this place is perfect.
