A beautiful place to have your dream wedding.

The bedding was dirty. No screens on the sliding door. Small bathroom. The room stunk. This hotel definitely needs an upgrade.

I work in the hotel industry in Oregon, and I have never stayed at this place before in Long Beach California, and I must say that everybody was very friendly, and we were all very accommodating. This will now be the go-to for me when I come to Long Beach California!

Service was ok dinner was poor well seasoned but no steak knifes it was hard tu cut the meat and the chicken which was very hard to cut.

Drunks was on point. Food was awesome as well. Highly recommended.

Would not recommend — at all. Let's start with the "Clean" plates for the breakfast. I'd never imagine I'd have to start my day with dirt stains from improper dishwashing. The inability to have clean plates is a sad reflection of my experience, but it doesn't end there. Aside from the dirty plates, the free breakfast was mediocre, incomparable in quality to any other hotel breakfast I've had previously. The options were not only cheap, but extremely limited. And let's not forget that fresh, cut fruit was sold instead of offered. And then there's the actual room. I spent 2 nights at the hotel. On both nights, I experienced irritating itches. I didn't think anything of it — maybe something I got from outside — until I realized it wasn't me. The sheets had bed bugs, and it still continues to bother me as I'm writing this review two days after my stay. It has spread to the rest of my clothes and luggage and ruined my trip to Long Beach as a whole. I am extremely upset in the quality of this hotel. For $120/night, I wouldn't even bother. 0.7/5

The Best Hotel In Long Beach I Had A Wonderful Stay I Didn't Get To Use The Pool Because Me And My Mom Were So Busy But I Love The Breakfast And The Room Was Very Nice And Comfortable Some Of The Kids Are Roudy Above Us But That's Ok And Thanks For Your Service I'd Give A Million Stars :)

Reggae for a Reason is every Sunday with live music from the Fully Fullwood Band. It’s a great event, super fun, and all proceeds go to ending youth homelessness!

We read on the description of the hotel that it had a shuttle to the carnival cruise terminal. They discontinued this service about two years ago but have not updated any of their information. That was one of the reasons we chose this hotel because it was in close proximity to the terminal. There are six of us traveling and we were very disappointed in the breakfast. Several choices that were on the menu in each room was not available. The breakfast was served with several items cold.
Although the grounds were beautiful, the restaurant was disappointing.

Our front desk man, Ed, was outstanding. I think this may not been the best greeting I've ever had, checking into a hotel. He was very friendly, helpful and suggested great places to eat. Plus the room vs. The cost to stay here was very good! All the pics on line were spot on, it's a beautiful place.

Rude people, shower head broken, but mostly it’s the rude workers!

Good price for near downtown. The TV never worked but no biggie I wasn’t there to watch TV. The room had a bad smell. The carpet was filthy. After I showered, I walked around barefoot and when I put on my socks I noticed the bottom of my feet were dirty and sticky. I had to use wipes to clean my feet before getting to bed.

Check in after midnight was a breeze. Room was big and the bed was comfortable. They provided 2 breakfast tickets each morning for their continental breakfast. The only reason for 4 star is no hot breakfast aside from waffles and oatmeal.

I stayed at this hotel because I was attending a JW convention. It was a very good place, friendly people ready to help you to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast buffet. We got free vouchers for 3 of us. Even my husband couldn't make it I was able to get a to go box. Buffet had make it yourself waffles, strawberrys, syrup and whip cream. This was the star of breakfast very delicious. Cut up fruit, whole fruits banana, apples, oranges, different slices of breads, muffins, bagels and a toaster. Sweet mini danishes, mini muffins, mini croissants. Has cooked oatmeal you add your brown sugar, raisins and granola. Three cold cereals provided whole, non-fat, soy milk. Orange juice and cranberry juice. Coffee and 10 different teas. They have to go cups. Mini yogurts, cream cheese, and butter. I think I got most foods for breakfast. They do have laundry room which I used. Very clean and you can download an app. To pay it and also lets you know when wash or dry is done. You don't have to be checking on it all the time. I hope you have a great experience as I did.

My room was large and the bed comfortable. Room was clean. Looks like the bathroom was newly renovated. However, the furniture shows wear as does parts of the hotel. Breakfast was included but the buffet did not offer either scrambled eggs or breakfast meats.

Enjoy everything about this hotel. Josh at the front desk always greets us with a big smile and professional attitude. All employees are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good, dance lessons are a kick and beds are very comfortable. As always, thanks or everything.

I have stayed at the Golden Sails many times and they are now under new ownership apparently. Staff is still wonderful however breakfast is not what it used to be. Low quality coffee. If you think you've booked a room that you really like there is no guarantee. No thank you I will stay with an Airbnb the next time. Prices almost doubled. Realest I've always been dated but that was no problem with the nice breakfast and great room I used to get without any hassles. My stays are usually 7 to 10 nights.

This property had several issues during our one night stay. AC was lacking, I’ll give them a bit of slack as it was an extremely hot day in Long Beach but the wait to check in with a lobby without AC was stifling. The room took hours to become tolerable as it only had a small window unit. When returning from dinner our door lock was broken. This means we had to keep someone in the room at all times or we’d be locked out again. Just after midnight, the entire hotel lost power and we lost the little cool air we had. Lastly was promised a full breakfast but was instead met with a sad offering of bread, oatmeal and self make waffles.

Great location, short drive to "The Peninsula", nice pool and spacious feeling. Our room 483 was clean, huge and relatively quiet. This hotel has "good bones" but definitely needs a total remodel.

It's a decent hotel, in a decent area. Only one side of the building has a decent view. From the front door of my room you see an oil rig & mobile home park and the building, in the back is not appealing. Definitely an older building. Decent room though.

This more a review of the PCH Club connected to the hotel. On Mondays and Thursdays you'll find amazing salsa dancing instructors and dancers. I love going here.

Used to be a great property… now a bit shabby. Definitely do NOT stay in the rooms that are not in the "tower. " And you will need to find eggs elsewhere!

Excellent stay, for riding bikes to Shoreline Village and The San Gabriel Trail. Hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. Clean.

Good hotel to stay at. It's located in a good area. Easy to get to with lots of parking. Good breakfast in the morning. Would stay there again.

Stayed here 4 nights, room upstairs was clean and quiet which I appreciated very much at sleep time. Friendly staff. Breakfast was okay, fresh fruit, coffee, juice, tea, potatoes, bacon or sausage, pastries, do yourself waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, but (except for hard boiled) they don't serve eggs.

Nice decor. Next to a marina. Peaceful. Good lunch. Clean room.

Stayed for one night. Room was clean checked in and got to room. There were no towels to speak of. Had to call down to the desk and received them with in a few minutes. Sinks don't drain properly so it takes a while to use the sink after someone else.

The rooms feel a little dated, and the exterior is a little run down but this place is a total value. Everything was really nice the staff was amazing and the food was good. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Checked in well before 3pm for a 1 night stay to attend a wedding on the property. Patio opens to what would have been a lovely view of the wedding gazebo, but it was blocked by overgrown trees. Unacceptable. Trifling! Management too lazy and cheap to keep the tree trimmed. Refused to offer us another room with a view of the courtyard.

Nice hotel. Location Interesting restaurant that is rare for this network. Seal Beach is 5 minutes by car.

Rude phone answers Toilet runs all night. Shower floor was very slippery. Door lock wouldn't unlock… fire hazard. Blew fuse on light, had to unplug refrigerator to charge electronics. Well maintained outside, but not updated inside. Directions to room included yelling out my room number and telling me "go out the door and it is 27 doors down". It turned out to be alllll the way around the building. Walking with luggage on the dark was not cool. Pool and hot tub are nice, well maintained. Breakfast is hot, well appointed… requires stopping at the desk every day to get your vouchers… total pain.

I believe a long time ago, this place was really something. But that was a long time ago. This property is in very poor condition. I travel for work and stay at Best Westerns when possible. I had reservations for four nights but checked after the first. I can personally recommend three Best Westerns in this area. My favorite and closest to work is the Sunset Beach Harbour Inn and Suites, my second favorite is the Best Western Plus Mesa Inn in Costa Mesa, the third is the Newport Beach Best Western.

Excellent location and services.

This Best Western Golden Sails is conveniently located where you can access to almost everywhere within Long Beach in minutes. Plenty of parking space. Good ocean view restaurant. Structure is a little old but full functioning. Internet is fast too. Well worth a 4.5/5 rating in particular value for money.

We had to go through bad customer service experience from the moment we checked in after celebrating New Year Eve at around 1 pm. We had reserved a room for 2 adults and 2 kids and were expecting 2 double beds instead we were given 1 king bed and a sofa bed even when other room options were available. The door was there but didn't lock and the room heater shut down on its own in 10 minutes and kids woke up freezing. When we complained about the above issues we were given a curt reply by the manager. Overall, the staff looked inexperienced and untrained. We were appalled by the horrible experience by staff and the room. Also, the front desk manager insisted on taking a photocopy of our id for his records which is a clear violation of privacy. On leaving we asked for our photocopy back and he handed us someone else's id showing how ids are treated in a careless manner with no respect for privacy. We know for a fact that ids are looked at and verified but not stored by hotel staff. This is clear violation of the norms.

It is a nice place to be able to rest they cater to a very nice give me instructions the restaurant does not have to go outside to eat the rooms are of quality.

There are a better good service are very friendly and explain to you how the atmosphere is in the hotel.

The place needs a little more design. The service is good and the food is fine.

My brother and I stayed 2 nights at the Golden Sails Hotel. It was in a perfect location for us. Clean and comfortable. We enjoyed eating at a few Resturants close by. Also, great buffet breakfast at the hotel. We would stay there again!

I stayed in this hotel in November with a group which consisted of small children and adults. The grassy area in the center was a great place for the kids to play, and the pool and hot tub were clean and nice. The bottom story rooms have sliding glass doors that gave us direct access to the lawn and pool area and allowed the children to go from room to room without straying into the parking lot. The staff was friendly and helpful with a dinner recommendation. Upon joining the Best Western rewards club we were given a free hot breakfast. The breakfast was filling and delicious, and the variety pleased all ages. The only reason I did not give this hotel five stars is because the beds were a bit bouncy and, to me, made sleeping less comfortable when sharing with another person.

Overall it is a pretty good hotel for the price. Not high-end, but not run down. Good quality for what you get. I personally did not like the pillows in bed I found them uncomfortable, other members in my group found them to be OK neither comfortable or uncomfortable. The only real letdown was the breakfast. It was the same food each time we went. You get your choice of scrambled eggs with or without peppers, potatoes O'Brien, sausage links and bacon. You have the option to make your own waffles or toast. I signed up for the best Western rewards so I got it for free. However if I paid the price they were asking of $13 I would have been pretty disappointed.

This best western is a classic Hollywood style property that is super conveniently located to shopping and dining. The pool and hot tub was gorgeous as were the landscaping and overall property orderliness. I would update the rooms a little and I believe a full deep clean of the carpets is required. Parking was free which was great. The restaurant did a great job with breakfast. Staff was friendly helpful and professional.

Best place to stay with family or with friends they have friendly staff who truly care for the well being of there customers I enjoy our short stay. I definitely recommend them. The room was perfect and clean with a beautiful view.

I would like to give no stars. This place was horrible for my wife and I. They know how to take the reservation but they don't know how to hold the reservation. I paid for a deluxe King room. They gave away to another guest as a room upgrade. And stuck my wife and I with a small room on the first floor and I specifically requested the highest floor. And I paid for the deluxe King room which is a higher rate than the room they gave me and still charge me the same price as a deluxe King room. Really unhappy with Best Western Golden Sails we will never stay here again and I will let everybody I know about my experience at this place.

Great place off the beaten path. 15 min drive from convention center. Rooms are older. Close to Bixby shopping center. You are given a meal ticket at the front desk each day and then you take it to the restaurant. Buffet style full breakfast includes scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, hash browns, make your own waffles, apples, oranges, cereal, coffee (not very good), oatmeal, yogurt, trail mix, brown sugar, pastries, bread, and orange juice.

I found this hotel googling Long Beach hotels. The location is nice and the prices are really fair. They have a garden area surrounding the pool. My stay was short. I checked in at 7pm and left around 8am. My room was clean and big. The ac got really cold. The staff both at night and in the morning were smiley and nice. I would recommend this hotel. While checking out unnoticed they had fresh lemon water too. Lol.

Very reasonably priced Hotel with a beautiful pool, buffet breakfast, and very clean, spacious room! The staff was friendly and helpful. Even helped me with my Uber APP when I couldn't get it to work. I'm typically loyal to another Hotel Chain, but will stay here whenever I visit family in the future.

Front desk staff and house keeping, were very friendly, and helpful. Jessica listened to our complaints on hot water, and made it right immediately, even providing an upgrade. Provided useful guidance to local places, and it all worked out. Excellent place for the price. Could provide a little more variety on the breakfast menu. At least eggs can be prepared in different ways than scamble. Everything said I would recommend this place anytime, would definitely stay there again.

Good place to go by the water. 5-10 min away from Belmont shore where there is a lot of shops and restaurants. Also 10-15 min away from Beach. The hotel was a very average 2-3 star but comfortable to stay in. For the location it's hard to find a better deal. It's pretty clean, no stains or smell in the room. Would go there again if I'm aiming for Long Beach.

The Staff there made your stay welcomed. From check-in with Ms. Delci and check-out with Ms. Jessica. The kitchen staffs were very courteous and professional in every way especially the only one was Mr. Carlos there to greet you with a smile, seat you, and provide coffee, water, etc. The downfaults are the building is old and the bathrooms need an upgrade sinks and toilets way too low and old.

I stayed at this hotel for attending a conference in downtown. While it's about 5 miles from downtown, the plus is that there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel that you can take to go there. We got checked in without any problems, and the room was spacious for 2 people. Breakfast coupons were provided every evening for next day's breakfast in the restaurant next door. All the items were well presented. The internet connection speed can be improved but it was decent enough. House keeping service was really nice, they cleaned the room and replaced towels every day without having to remind them. Overall, a good hotel and would recommend to anyone.

Went to a music event. Venue was nicer than expected. Full bar, two pool tables. Large dance floor and plenty of tables and chairs. Outdoor smoking patio. Staff was friendly and place was kept really clean.

Our second stay at this hotel. Great staff, clean rooms, complimentary breakfast was filling and over looks some of the marina. My kids loved watching people row by. Location is good close to shopping, beaches, and other places we needed to attend. Will definitely stay again.

The room was spacious, the staff courteous, the Continental breakfast was pretty good. The waffle station was awesome. The bed was really comfortable to sleep on I just knocked out. There was a fridge and a microwave. The few things I didn't like was the light for the entrance was out and the bathroom door was really close to the toilet I'm tiny but opening it while sitting on it grazes my knees. Other than that it was a good choice to stay.

The staff was very friendly. Full breakfast buffett. The food for lunch and dinner was very good & reasonably priced. The only downside was the Wi-Fi was a bit sketchy. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for 6 days in December 2015. Everyone was very kind, helpful and tended to any needs that we had. The complimentary breakfast was fantastic! It was hot, tasty and the service was great. The room was huge, clean and quiet. We are staying here again in April. I highly recommend them!

I got into the hotel after midnight and went to sleep almost immediately, the beds were nice but I have yet to experience the hotel to the extent that I can properly review the establishment.

The stay here was excellent. The staff was friendly, the work out room was effecient, heated pool, decent jacuzzi. Overall enjoyed it here. Even the little breakfast place on the water was relaxing. 1

The other BW elevator was out of order so I called this place and Leo took great care of us. He was friendly and encouraging which we appreciated after our disappointment with the 1st place. He took care of us in a great professional manner. Pool. Hot Tub. PCH club for some salsa dancing. The Cal King size bed in our room was amazing! The shower pressure was great. Before leaving to Catalina the next morning we went to have the continental breakfast that was offered. Oh wow! This wasn't your average orange juice and pastry kind of deal. Everything that you could want for breakfast was available. Victor and Carlos the servers were very attentive without being intrusive. We had a wonderful view of the water and it was so peaceful. They made sure that we always had coffee and whatever else we needed. I have never had this kind of continental breakfast level before without staying somewhere extremely expensive. Overall we had a wonderful experience at this Best Western Sails. Victor and Carlos.

The staff is just awesome. From the front desk to the restaurant everyone is so accommodating and nice. Room clean and area convenient. I will stay here again next time I am in long beach just because the staff made me feel so welcome. Thanks.

I was this hotel 2 week ago I liked this place nice and quiet with a good hot breakfast and the staff everyone gets a 10 from me. I will be back.

The staff was very courteous, the room was wonderful and all the amenities were very great.

The staff was not very friendly. The breakfast wasn't worth the price even though it was free. The rooms smelled funny, I had to leave the window open all night to deal with the smell so I got to hear the traffic go by all night as well. The hotel is very dated I don't think anything has been done to it since 1975. This is probably one of the cheapest hotels in that area but there are a lot nicer hotels for just 10 or 20 more right down the road. Never again.

We were very pleased staying at this hotel. It was VERY CLEAN a little outdated but who cares the staff was awesome the room again was CLEAN :) it included a breakfast buffet pretty good. The price was decent. We would stay here again.

The front desk clerks were very friendly and patient. They were also down to earth and approachable. The new improvements to floor number two, the flower wall mural, and entry way tile, were lovely. Please reward your staff for their excellent attention to customer needs management.

Was here for a friends wedding and the first night I had to deal with the upstairs room overflowing their kitchen sink causing a slow leak in the ceiling. Upon calling this apparently happens often but being almost midnight I stayed in the room and it stopped a few hours later. The wall outlets should all be replaced as no wall charger could stay plugged in for a long period of time. Even the lamps they had could not stay plugged in for long. The bathroom was very narrow but it was clean and the water worked just fine. I tried to order room service but no one picked up and the front desk couldn't do anything but transfer me. Their Wi-Fi is slow for streaming video but just fine for checking emails. The Crystal Ballroom was of good quality and their gazebo was fairly good. Their gym is in the same room as their computers and just like most hotels is fairly small with a few machines. Their parking lot tends to be crowded and not in the best condition. It also had a lot of glass from broken windows. Luckily I did not had to experience my car getting broken into or damaged. Overall it's a Best Western with a fancier name and a few facilities you normally don't see at Best Western's. It's nearby stores and restaurants so it is in a good location but with lots of traffic for those not used to SoCal traffic. I personally had a bad experience and thought it was not worth the money spent even if things went well.

The staff was not friendy at all. They argued with us about our free breakfast vouchers, 1st only giving us enough for our 1st day and then saying our reservation was only for 2 people when I had my confirmation printed out that clearly stated it was for 2 nights and 4 people. Then, they refused to credit me my Best Western points for our stay. The woman at the font desk actually told me they "didn't make enough money on our reservation to give us our points". To top it off, the room was DIRTY! My kids took showers and after 5 minutes of walking around on the carpet in the room, the bottoms of their feet were so dirty it looked like they had been walking around outside barefoot. The pool water was cloudy so we had to skip swimming and the buildings are in a general state of disrepair. It looked like nothing had been updated for an extremely long time. Not to mention they are drilling for oil right next to the hotel and the ugly chain link fences on the prooperty make you feel like you are on a job site, not at a hotel. My family definitely WILL NOT stay there again and I have actually soured on Best Western in general after their refusal to credit my points because they didn't "make enough money".
