One of the best Hotel stays I have ever experienced. Very accommodating, very friendly, very thorough. We stayed back in February 2022, but I will never forget our experience.

Worst place ever. Had reservations but seen how horrible the place was and wanted my money back because I wasnt going to stay 3 nights there. The place refused to give me my money back.

It is DISGUSTING the ceilings are completely open wires are hanging out of it. When we went to check in they checked in a complete stranger into our room that had been booked prior so I assume they don’t check IDs therefore we had to wait to have different room prepared while still having to pay for the original one that was given away improperly. When entering the “new room” the front light didn’t even work as well as one of the lamp lights. Management has no idea what they are doing. Do not stay here trust me!

The hotel is OK. Stay away from the Rock and Roll Sports Bar and Restaurant inside the hotel. AWFUL! Worst experience ever! Awful service (we were the only table in there), took forever for our food, food was cold and not right, waitress answered her cell phone while at our table waiting on us, took 30 minutes to get water's, never got a refill. THEN they automatically add 20% gratuity on the bill no matter the size of the party! Then to top it all off the waitresses were taking shots while we waited for another 30 minutes to get our bill after they took our plates. Never, I mean NEVER again will I go here. Save yourself the hassle and order a pizza if in town.
Given, this is not run by the hotel but it is IN the hotel. Worst experience ever!

I will never stay there again. My jewelry came up MISSING. Manager Stacie said she would take care of it BUT instead she blockef my number. Health Department need to inspect the kitchen BECAUSE there was a ROACH CRAWLING on the muffins. I informed the cook and she did nothing. I was informed that the hotel is FULL OF ROACHES! Never stay again. The hotel clerk DEDRA WAS RUDE.

When I first got here it was nice and clean everyone was really nice. But if you are here for work its hard to sleep don't get a room by the back door no one knows how to close it or they don't have an respect that others maybe sleeping! I called down to the front desk and they came down but it did no good! I was woke up at 1 am and again before 6 am. This is going on too much. Went and got a fan so I couldn't hear the door but you still can hear it. So either find another hotel or stay away from the back door if you are here for rest! I won't be back… so I came back to Tennessee and tried to get four rooms and there were 2 ladies said they would have to call me back they never did. We had alot of people here for work they could have gotten our business we are done with this place we or none of our workers will staying here.

Decent enough for the money. 3 people roomed overnight for 76 bucks. There is a free continental breakfast, but we were all afraid of the eggs lol. The staff was nice, kind and helpful but when we got to our room there was a wet smell, it went away, shortly, but it was weird. The outside isn't well groomed, but they do offer in hotel amenities like a pool, bar, and gym. And free Wifi!

If you visit Memphis by car is one of the cheapest options you can find. There is a parking and a pool. Breakfast is bad but you can easily survive it. Room are kind of old (probably from 20-30 years ago). Bed is comfy tho, however if you got a pretty decent budget for accommodatiln I would not recommend it at all.

My husband is a Choice Hotel member. We usually stay in a choice hotel because we get a great bang for our buck in unknown areas. This Clarion hotel was very close to the Lorraine Motel (National Black Civil Rights Museum), Beale Street, and Elvis' Graceland. The hotel is big but needs major updates. Our key cards wouldn't work on the outside entrance points forcing us to always enter through the main lobby. The breakfast was cold but they do provide a microwave. THE POOL WAS NOT HEATED! The hallways were always extra hot. I'm assuming the a. C. In the hallways were broke. The rooms felt nice and cold and were clean. The carpet needed to be shampooed. The curtain in the room wouldn't close all the way, letting the outside light and sun shine through. Overall, I felt safe and that most important.

Room was alright but pretty great for the price. Which scares me. The hotel overall was not clean with very obvious and easy fixes like buckets of molded water being used to prop open the pool room door, all ice machines having the black goo dripping out of them, and overall trash left randomly throughout. Obvious trash was left on floors in the hallway, lobby, and breakfast area for 24 hrs without being touched. The room really did seem clean and the bar had pretty good food and really great burgers.

Lobby, Dinning room and our sleeping room where very clean, if older. Quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool area was messying but that seemed to be a short lived problem because I looked in the morning and it was clean and we'll stocked. So I have to conclude we simply arrived to swim right after everyone else. Breakfast was a mediocre affair, But adequate. Overall I would stay there again if I was in the area.

Had an okay experience here. The staff was friendly which made the stay bearable. When eating breakfast in the morning everything was cold 45 minutes after it started. Eggs were runny, ketchup was watery. The pool isn't heated due to a missing heating element. The rooms were nice and clean. Just unimpressed with the amenities.

I am an elite member of Choice Privileges, and they have disabled the review option for the hotels for some reason. We stayed in this hotel the first weekend in May 2018, and it was terrible! DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! 1. This hotel does not honor your elite membership benefits. No early check in or late check out. In fact we arrived an hour before check in and were checked in an HOUR after check in because… well we don't know why. 2. The hotel is dirty. The hallways, the elevator etc. Were just nasty. 3. Our room was not cleaned. I found hair everywhere. The fridge had BUGS and a half gallon of ice cream that looked to have been there for months and had spilled inside. 4. Under staffed! 5. Wi-Fi does not work 6. The phone in the room does not work! It was not even connected nor could we see where it was supposed to be connected! Had to call front desk from my cell!

I will never stay at this place again. The front desk called me at 1:30 AM to confirm I was in the room. When I asked why? The person told me her boss told her to. When she called she wanted to know if I was in room 113 or 231? I can't be in room 231 if I am answering the phone in 113. The next morning when I asked to speak to the person making that decision. I was told he was sleeping. He can thank his employee for not giving me his number. You cannot control the temp in the room. It's either freeze or be hot. At breakfast they had cereal and no milk.

I'm only giving this place the one star because it was at least accessible to a shower. To start with customer service desk needs more training my debit card was charged twice and then payment put back but very inconveniencing. This whole establishment needs to be remodeled and a new staff. None of the ice machines worked were empty lids off dirty just filthy. The free breakfast was terrible, good thing a waffle house is close. The air in the room did not work and staff said it was like that because it was so hot outside, really 85 degrees! No phone in room never heard of! Very very terrible experience I'm truly at a loss for words my wife, daughter, son in law and I will never stay at a clarion no matter where it is!

Had enough of a makeover to make it look nice but its a rough property. It was clean & had super nice people working here but the property itself has seen better days. Had a random romex wire coming out of the wall (that has to be a code violation), cobbled together plumbing, cracked granite in the bathroom which had a a small angle bracket holding it in place, and the hairdryer was obviously busted but left in service. We won't be back.

Not good. Room was dirty (dust everywhere). There were 2 shades of hair on my bedsheet! Tub was dirty. TV didn't work (could only get one channel-some offbeat sports channel). The entrance light and the nightstand light didn't work. The thermostat was broken, so we couldn't adjust the room temp (it was cold). The room was at the side door, but we had to walk a long way around because the lock was broken so that the room key wouldn't open it. This ground level door was being PROPPED OPEN! And, worst of all, nothing was ever said or done after we reported these problems. Nothing. We only stayed because of the special family event we were attending. This was Easter weekend and the staff was friendly.

THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I'VE EVER STAYED AT! Room was a mess! Broken TV, curtains didn't close, shower/ tub was stopped up, ants were everywhere, hole in the wall where you can see to the next room and stuffed with tissue, room was cold and no heat! All secured doors were broken, so homeless were the first to eat breakfast! Day staff were pleasant, however night staff were LOUD, and full of DRAMA! My family and I had to leave and find another place! If this is your cup of tea, then BOOK THERE, and try not to get shot! Ughhhhh!

Acceptable for an older hotel. Rooms were clean… free breakfast and good rates. No microwaves in rooms… No hot water from sinks but the shower had hot water. Before our arrival, one person at the front desk promised adjoining rooms on the 1st floor but we ended up on the second floor in two seperate rooms next door to one another which was somewhat disappointing.

Multiple problems. Apathetic employees, reserved non smoking, given smoking room. Bathroom door falling apart, dirty carpet throughout, dirty floors and elevator, smoke detector did not have battery. Only good point is beds were comfortable.

Upon arrival I noticed all the outdoor trash receptacles were filled to the top. Very dirty elevators. Light didnt work in my room but to my surprise the room was very clean. Over all I would not recommend this particular location.

This hotel’s cleaning crew was the worst ever! The room smelled like a nursing home and I was at a hotel! It would’ve been fine I. I was visiting someone at the nursing home but I was at a hotel! The lamp had stains on it and there was candy left by a previous guest but they NEVER cleaned it up! I had to tough it out so I went and bought Lysol and glade plug ins for the four days I had to suffer! I’ll never stay there again!

Omg! The worst garbage hotel. Garbage overflowing every garbage can. Ants in our room. The restaurant forgot half our order and burnt what they could. The hotel didn't have manager and switched our rooms to one the air didn't work. But we waited in the lobby 2 in half hours. Worst hotel.

The room was hot and it took a good 2 hours to get it cool. The stopper for the bathtub didn’t work. I was told the pool is open 9 to 9. It’s really open 10 to 10. The breakfast bar was disappointing. I’ve eaten many of the freebie breakfasts and this one was sad. Had waffle machines sitting there but they were turned off and no batter. Definitely won’t go back. : (

This hotel has been the worst one I have ever stayed at. I had several choices to stay at, however the only reason why I chose this one was for the "heated indoor pool" that it advertised. When we checked in, we went to the room and it was actually quite dirty. The bathroom had feces in it from someone who didn't flush, and the room and hallways smelled really bad. My husband and I wanted to relax so we ignored this and went to the "heated indoor pool. " The pool wasn't heated at all, in fact it was just as cold as it was outside and the water looked so dirty. We called the manager and she said there was nothing they could do about it and that the pool would be heated in the morning; this really blew my mind. Before checking out the next morning we went to get some breakfast and the food was just so cold. I'm so disappointed in this hotel and the customer service. We were better of going to a cheaper priced hotel than this one. I truly do not recommend this hotel for anyone.

It seemed like a very nice hotel. Large spacious rooms with an indoor pool. I wasn't notified when I checked in that there had been electrical issues so there was no heat in the hotel. Thankfully I was by myself so bundled under the covers for warmth. I will try it again if I get to the area.

Checked into a room and had to go back down to the front desk to make sure they didn't accidentally give me an occupied room. There was a full ashtray, an open soda, a used disposable coffee cup, and trash on the bathroom floor. There was even a checkout slip for (I'm assuming) the last guest… dated 4 days ago! If the nearby hotels weren't booked up because of the event I'm attending, I would have went elsewhere. At least the front counter was understanding and switched the room for me.

Room was clean and we'll appointed. Hotel did not seem prepared for the large amount of people staying. They struggled to keep up with everything. The staff was still very pleasant. If you were to stay in a normal weekend, u wouldn't have any qualms.

The hotel was very nice, and I loved the breakfast area. My only frustration was that I couldn't get a door closer to my room open even though the sign said it could be used with room key. Mostly annoying because it was pouring rain when I was standing there with my luggage trying to open it. Other than that it was great. The staff was friendly, every thing in the room worked, and the place was clean.

I would steer clear of this hotel. The room was clean and comfy, if you can stomach the filth and drear of the lobby areas and hallways. Even the elevator was dirty. I couldn't get over the SPILLS everywhere just left there for us to walk over. The woman at the desk was unengaged, nonverbal, as we asked for another room since the one she'd given us hadn't been cleaned. The second room was great. The hotel is obviously one of those grand hotels from a by-gone era, large spaces which were once really amazing are now just depressing, all dilapidated and empty. The breakfast area was once a thriving restaurant, now it's large and dark withe a scant breakfast. No fruit, yogurt, or eggs. The outside of the place is neglected, like a ruin. Traumatizing! Just get to your room, and you'll be okay!

If they would have mopped the floors… This was billed as a 3-star on Priceline. The dirtiness of the lobby and hallways, the dinginess of the outside, and the scantiness of the breakfast (no fruit, eggs, or yogurt) all screamed 1-star. The room, however, was very nice and clean and fresh. But! The air conditioner blew only faintly. The front desk wasn't the eager sort, so we just kicked off the covers. Customer service was a 1. No one was working. Except the one who cleaned our room. Our first room hadn't been cleaned so we had to go back and get another room. Desk clerk not eager to help.

Outlets covers are falling off, linens are dirty or torn, doors have signs of forced entry, curtains are dirty, the carpets are pretty gross as well. I definitely won't be barefoot on the floors. The place is obviously an older building. The upside is that they appear to be renovating, as evidenced by the newspapers covering the spray painted mirrors in the first room we were given. The bathroom is very nice and appears to have been recently updated. The golden lining for me was the front desk attendant. She was very helpful and friendly. She was extremely quick about exchanging our first room for one without spray painted newspaper, and apologetic even though I doubt it was her fault. Overall, this place needs a lot of work and the pictures posted on Google and Priceline must be staged and shot by a professional photographer. Wouldn't come back, but it's not the worst place I've been. As an addendum, the breakfast was pretty poor. The food tasted really off, and there wasn't much of it. Again, the staff seemed to be dealt a bad hand, as only one employee was made to be preparing everything on the hot bar and was hustling. One of the better hotel experiences I've ever had. For the price ($78 with tax) you can't beat this place. Best hot breakfast buffet ever (unlimited, perfect crispy bacon! ) in a cute atrium area. Clean room; walked in to the perfect temp and never had to change. Comfortable bed with lots of pillows. Felt newly renovated except the indoor pool, which was advertised as heated (it was ice cold) with no hot tub. There was no microwave and shower pressure was low but overall, a great stay. The inconsistent reviews are puzzling, but I'll most certainly be staying here on any return trips.

Hotel room was nice. Breakfast area was beautiful. Litter outside in parking lot. Out of eggs for breakfast. Took awhile to check in. Bunch of people in line to check in but only one worker. Manager came out twice but did not help check people in.

The Clarion in West Memphis, AK was a hot mess. From the front to the back was not what I expected. Outside was unkempt. The reception area was also like that. Doorknobs to closets were missing. Food was in the messed up fridge from the previous occupants. Someone else's shoes and bath sponge were under the bed There were issues with the bedding. I was unable to lock the door to our room and when I reported it to the main desk the lady said, 'Oh, yeah we know. ' The workers all appeared as if they had just gotten up. The food was oftentimes watery. Routine housekeeping had been neglected. The elevator button and the area around it was just plain nasty. There was more to our visit than that. I understand that renovations may be costly and time consuming, but this was somewhat inexcusable. So in the future when planning to stay in any hotel I hope to remember to ask if there is anything out of the ordinary going on. We did not care for this lodging experience and was unable to get a refund to go to another hotel.

Nice place! A few little annoyances (like ice machine on our floor didn't work and hotel restaurant was permanently closed) but nothing major. Room was spacious and clean… worn, but clean. Bed was super comfortable, and air conditioner worked great! Large flat screen TV, and good choice of channels. This hotel must have been gorgeous in it's day. Still very pretty. Would highly recommend!

This hotel is tired and worn. It appears to be on it's last leg. The various staff members I encountered need to either quit and allow someone who actually wants a job to run this place or learn some customer service skills. This place is unacceptable. No coffee available at breakfast? Debris from inconsiderate customers left for hours before being removed? I usually enjoy staying at the various Clarion Hotels around the country but, this was truly a one visit hotel. I will never come back here again.

This is not a 3 star hotel. Traveling back to Texas from Philadelphia, we stopped to rest at this hotel. One thing I've learned about customer service is first impressions are everything. I think we checked in like 11:30pm. The lady that checked us in was in plain clothing and they weren't in the best condition. There was a smell that lingered in the hotel and the floors was sticky, so sticky I almost lost my flip flop. It got stuck to something on the carpet. The room is on another level. There were stains on the bed spreads. The room had mosquitoes and gnats flying around like no one has stayed in the room in awhile. There was stains on the curtains which didn't close all the way and we were on the first floor. The carpet looks like something they put in in 1867, it was so stained and dingy looking. The TV wasn't clear. We called room service and no one answered. The clock was unplugged and we couldn't figure out why. The room smelled like a woman had literally just sprayed perfume. It was so loud. I'm pregnant so you can imagine how sick it made me. Sorry I didn't take pictures. At this rate I wish I would have. I did have one exceptional experience and that was Greg at breakfast. He had the most outstanding customer service. I told him we need more people like him in the world. The breakfast wasn't too bad. The pool is right next door to it so you can smell the chlorine clearly. I wouldn't rate this hotel a 3. I would give this a 2.

Hotel is reasonably priced with nice clean rooms. They also have one of the best free breakfast buffets that I've seen. The staff is also very nice and polite. This is a much better experience than I had at the Quality inn across Memphis that I had the other night.

At check in was told there was a working indoor pool, but in reality they were working to fix the pool. They then stated the pool was working and clean; however, there was visible gunk floating thru out the pool. Some uninformed young people were swimming in that mess… wow! There were no towels, so the floor outside of the pool area was slippery and wet. A elderly group was hosting an event at the hotel… no one at the front desk would call to have the water cleaned up for the passing patrons. Phones did not work, toilets flooded, the elevator lights did not work, but the worst part was there was a power outage for more than 2 hours at the hotel and there was no back up generator. The hotel is a dangerous hazard and I will not visit it again!

We decided to stay the weekend even though there were problems. The rooms are not very clean, with thick dust on the furniture and a sticky tile floor. The bathroom was clean and the bed was a little too firm but clean. The AC system was horrible. It would cool for a while then not. The 2nd night we ended up sleeping in our truck and packed up to leave the next day. The bar in the hotel had a really nice Southern Rock band, and the food was great. There is an indoor pool too but we did not get to try it out. Also an exercise room. We won't be staying again because of the AC. We reported the AC issue the next morning since you really can't do anything with that type of system quickly. The staff is very friendly too. The front desk and manager were very nice, and the bar and food staff too. Maybe if they clean the curtains, floor, furniture, and fix the AC maybe. But we shall see.

The rooms were clean and orderly, the facilities were also very nice and the breakfast was delicious despite bad scrambled eggs. Overall it was a great stay.

It was a decent hotel, but much room for improvement. Our first room reeked of smoke, so we asked to move. They claimed that entire floor was nonsmoking, but the floor below was smoking so maybe the stink came up. Either way, gross. Smokers, you revolt me. Go outside. Geez. We arrived in a heavy rain and our room had a bad leak in the window that dripped water for the duration of the rain. Other than that the second room was good. The bed was soft. Shower and bathroom were fine, ice machine worked, and the BBQ from the restaurant on site is not bad. It was nice not to need to go out in the rain to eat.

This used to be a Holiday Inn. The Clarion is likely the fanciest hotel in town because it is a small convention center as well. It has great amenities, like a heated indoor pool. There's plenty of parking. Everything in here has been remodeled fairly recently. It's a nicer Clarion than it was as Holiday Inn.

I was there for an event. The people were nice and the space was clean. The overall setup was not good. The hotel people did not get all the rooms prepared properly and there was no ramp for wheelchair access to the stage.

We stayed here for one night and motel 6 was better for the price they charged. The rooms are spacious, but that's all. I was in the middle of the shower when I realized, the water in the bathtub does not drain. So I had to literally take out a whole bunch of hair to let the water go. It was disgusting. The breakfast sucks. Cut fruits were soggy with full of water and there was not much as verity. There two flasks of cold 2% and half and half milk jugs, and God knows since when they were sitting in the fridge. Being a wet day it was sticky, but the floors were unclean and the whole area was smelly. I would never visit this hotel and would not recommend.

The location was convenient for my purposes as I was staying for a wedding whose reception was being held downstairs. The room was fine, the beds comfortable, the shower functioned well. The television was a bit of a let down, but that could just as easily have been the channel we were on having a bad resolution. Unfortunately, the view provided in our room was only of the ground floor rather than anything outdoors. The bar/steakhouse downstairs had a great staff and both good drinks and good appetizers, but I'd doubt that's a part of every Clarion.

I've stayed at 1 star hotels cleaner, nicer and more well kept than this hotel. Priceline said this was a 3 star… what a joke! The hallway smells of spilled alcohol and it looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in days. There are finger name clippings on the carpet in our room. The outside doors aren't properly closed and locked, which makes you feel unsafe since anyone can walk in. Elevators are old. Hotel wouldn't change us to 2 queens instead of one king — staff was less than accommodating. Pool smelled so strongly of chlorine that at least 5 kids were coughing uncontrollably. My husband was sitting on the side and his eyes were burning from the fumes. No restaurants close by for meals. I can hear the conversations of every person walking down the hallway — very thin walls. Not holding my breath for the free breakfast in the morning. Not sure if East Memphis has different standards for rating hotels, but this Clarion is most definitely NOT a 3 star! Avoid this pit!
