One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. The staff is nice and tries to help, but the building is not being maintained. The owner seems to really be ignoring this one.

I honestly felt like all of the night staff was on drugs, and made it a pretty nerve racking start to the night. The morning wasn't much better was 50% of the staff were walking around dazed and crying about what I can only guess to be regret for previous night decisions. The "free" shuttle to the airport ferry wasn't free. The ac in the room didn't work, and we couldn't open the window case the previously mentioned staff were outside smoking something....McDonald's is across the street, and I would recommend getting out of there asap if you do happen to stay the night and eat at mcdonalds.

You could not possibly clean this room. Every thing needs to be thrown out! The chair was so disgusting we did not put our dirty clothes on it. Blanket- throw it out. Staff is was helpful and pleasant.

The front desk employee Ms.Kay she is so sweet and nice every time I ask for anything she got it for me and she would even Google information for me big help Thankz Ms.Kay great job

The room was clean. It certainly didn’t look like the pictures, a bit dark and worn out. There was no air conditioning and the room was hot and stuffy. The desk clerk gave us the last box fan left. The plumbing was a joke. The toilet constantly ran and the shower alternated from frigid cold to scalding hot. The tv had only 6 channels. The coffee maker had something strange in the water reservoir so I dared not use it. Thank God we only stayed 1 night! I feel bad for the staff, they were very nice but were stuck trying to make the best out of a bad situation!

We were very pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a corner room whose comfort exceeded our expectations. The entire staff was helpful throughout our stay and Raj, in particular, was cordial, informative and professional. Thanks for an enjoyable visit…

The staff at this hotel makes up for only slightly out-dated accommodations. Every request was met with a smile, even received a free room upgrade when the staff noticed my small children and realized we could use a bit more space, reasonably priced as well, would definitely reccomend this hotel to anyone who is in Ketchikan for a short stay.

The rooms were mediocre cleanliness was not a priority. The staff was cordial but nice. Management with lacking and local knowledge Transportation with Spotty. The only thing about this Super 8 is that it was located on the west end of town by restaurants and shopping mr. JBanks Ketchikan Alaska very old hotel critic

Oceanside hotel! great views ask for rooms facing the ocean!

Great Wi-Fi and clean. The continental breakfast seemed sparse.

Raj, was extremely personable and had a shuttle to pick me up at the ferry terminal. Amazing view of the waterfront from my room.

A nice place if in need of privacy. Lack on transportation. As to "good luck" for n deals… As for "where on grounds? " … (Inner-mid town. Great view in rooms twords facing north wing. With Ocean breeze with the view. Near-by (walking distance) *The Job Center* and Plaza/Goodies & Market store just near you. Bas for Office etc. For maps and 'view-layouts'? Any where you "stand-by" to the nearest posts. Can't miss it… As yah could call it (if you were to ask me…) "The Town w/Hospitality" — Northern_West-bound through our; SE*1'st. City, Salmon Capital in our Region. Ketchikan, Alaska. "Home of the Happy Bear's. "…

I called and very politely asked for prices and was told on the phone by the owner not to call back. Not knowing who I was speaking with, I called back and ask to speak with a manager. The same man answered and literally told me to "shut the f-up". Then hung up on me. Very unprofessional.

The old management is back, much nicer and friendlier. Elevater is in working condition again. I stay here alot and am very happy about that.

Fine. Clean enough. Quiet enough. But the view is amazing.

Raj, The front desk clerk provided exceptional service. The accommodations were very clean. It was close to everything. I will stay there again

I stayed for a week. Everyone that worked there went out of there way to make sure visit was enjoyed

Dave N.

Room was adequate, very much a easy to reach place. Checked me in early as well, bonus!

Rooms were out of date. The entire place smelled like smoke.

I stayed here for a week and had a very good experience. Yes, the hotel is older and in need of some improvements (which I hear are in the works! ), much like the town overall. But it is clean and quiet and well located, on the waterfront, close to Safeway, a charming café and walking distance to a great Mexican/Italian restaurant and the free downtown shuttle. The staff was very friendly, nice and helpful, from the front desk to the shuttle driver to housekeeping. I also met the relatively new owner and hotel manager and both were extremely nice and excited about future renovations. My room was clean and warm and had a view of the water. I enjoyed being able to watch the sea planes coming and going and the big cruise ships.

This is a run of the mill hotel. A step up from a motel. Everything about this place yells of needing a facelift. From the carpet to the ceiling texture, just feels a tad bit tried. The location is excellent! The mall, Safeway, and numerous restaurants within a short walk. Even the old downtown, with all the tourist shops is just a walk away.

I was worried after reading the reviews about staying her. Man was I supprised. They have treated us wonderful from the moment we arrived. The room was clean and comfortable. Very warm in this cold climate. The staff from management to the service lady were a blessing… I have learned if you show love and respect you will get it given back to you. Thank you so much for a great stay. And I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to visit. And if I return this hotel will me my choice.

I have no complaints at all I would just like a little more coffee condiments in my room still tho im highly stisfied with everything

Zachary T.

The hotel is decent but there were a couple of things that annoyed me. For one, the elevator was broken… And they said it has been broken for a long time. Second, the maid service didn't clean my room multiple days in a row.

Greg N.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights over the weekend. The staff was very friendly, courteous despite the conditions; elevator out of service, my room card failing to work after my first 24 hours, etc. I was pleased with the room, it was clean and I wasn't bothered with my DND sign hanging from my door. I am only giving this hotel a 3 star though for the following reasons: 1. The Wi-Fi was terrible. I could hardly find a connection that would let me stream a movie. Don't boast free Wi-Fi if it's not fast enough to do anything basic. 2. The free breakfast was lackluster. The orange juice was gross, and the waffles were simple inedible. The toast and yogurt was the only thing worth eating. 3. In-room thermostat didn't work. It was a warm weekend and I'd wake up sweating several times a night. It was set to 60 degrees, but was a constant 80. Really?

Brian C.

Decent hotel for the area. TV channel selection is not the best.

Graham T.

While dated, the room was very comfortable, clean, and had a great view of the harbor. Room 401 had a king bed, fridge, microwave and flat screen tv. I arrived outside the standard summer tourist season so I was able to get their best room at the standard rate.

Ryan P.

Fast elevator, no microwave or fridge in room, great location.

Brooke A.

Although I had a rough night of sleep due to loud neighbors, it was made up by the generous care I was given regarding shuttle assistance. The shuttle driver went above and beyond expectations, especially given the challenges I was having with a sick pet. Her assistance was MUCH appreciated!

Roz B.

My son had an unexpected layover and I was worried about him. Bart answered my call and was so accomidating and calming. I felt he took care of my son and made the situation better than what it was. Thank you so much.

Anna S.

Awful. As a local of ketchikan. I got a room with the intention of having somewhat of a local vacation. However one of the employees of this establishment has a problem with who my boyfriend is so she took my personal information. My phone number and gave it out to her friends as well as used it herself to harass me. When I called to speak with the manager about it. I was told that I was no longer welcome at this hotel because in her mind I just wanted to "cause problems" I was not breaking any rules or being disrespectful in anyway. They don't appreciate their customers and I will not be recommending this place to anyone in the future.

It not be bad except float planes landing and taking off.

We were going to camp in Ketchikan, but it was raining too much so we needed a place that is warm and dry. The hotel by the ferry terminal was too pricey, but the Super 8 had more reasonable rates and is a normal hotel room. The sea planes landing and taking off provide noise for the whole town, as do the ship horns. We also considered the Gilmore as another inexpensive motel option in Ketchikan, but with kids we wanted to be out of the hub of the downtown area.
