Had lunch here. Nice place, excellent impressive syructure.

Great hotel in a fort. Must stay for any visitor to the city. Rooms are a little dated. Foyer is grand. Breakfast is pretty good. Friendly and helpful staff. I would stay again.

We were greeted very nicely. The staff is very nice and helpful and the hotel very clean and nice. This has been one of the best hotels I've been to so far. :)

The building itself is super impressive, but the rooms were lackluster. Most of the staff were polite. We were disappointed with the hookah cafe. They required every person in your group to order a dessert and a coffee/tea in order to place an order for one hookah. It's probably the nicest place in town to stay.

Let me start by saying this CANNOT be a five star hotel. It's a sham. I went there with my husband who is Tunisian and I am not and immediately the treatment was bad. We told them we had booked through HolidayMe and were charged. They said we had to pay and that we would have to take it up with the agency — didn't try to deal with it at all. We then asked for an iron and they sent us an old broken unusable one… Burn signs and all to ruin our clothes. Things that were promised in the booking such as tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar and nothing was there. While we were there there was a power outage in the hotel and when we asked what happened they said we don't have money to pay the electricity bill! I have a temporary color in my hair which came our onto one of the hotel towels. They called us saying we have to pay for the towel, and we asked if they had attempted to wash it before saying it was ruined, and they said no, we asked them to wash it and promised we would pay if the color didn't come out. They still refused to wash it and charged us 30 dinars for it. My husband, clearly upset over what happened, told them off saying this was bad service and that they made Tunisia look bad. The woman at reception said this is Tunisia. What do you want?

One of the oldest and elegant hotel and restaurants in Tunisia. 5 star opulence without the hype. Can't wait to go back.

5 Star Hotel but not luxury. High price considering the prices of Tunisia. No service offered in January, such as sauna, massages, etc. Cold Common spaces. Good dinner.

Excellent hotel: a warm staff, unmatched cleanliness, a charming ambiance, one of the best hotel in Tunisia.

The visit here was ambiguous. It is not a particularly beautiful city, and may not have as much Shine as other Tunisian cities, but the city is old and seductive. On the other side lurked the danger of riots and enemies, here, in front of the government in this city hidden. Our visit was on all cases to be safe and well.

Arrived on 26/04 to 19.00, a friend and I wonder if there are two single rooms. The clerk team and then asking us if we had reservations. Staying in Douz, after days of desert but we weren't particularly unappealing. After a while we assign rooms, bed and breakfast, 140 TND per room (approximately 65) that the country is a lot of money.
My friend's room has the w. C. That is not working and the room is changed; in my shower leaks tube and you notice already signs of poor maintenance.
Dinner at the self service not particularly cured with water and a local beer (Celtia) fan 28 TND.! In the morning when paying my friend asks 161, 800 TND as it had been registered as half and guest, note, didn't even have dined because unwell!
Our grievances the Administration asks us to wait 10 minutes to speak with a Manager, after 5 minutes the wait becomes 15 minutes! To which quite annoyed we begin to raise their voice and at that point, via phone comes the order to give back to my friend the 21 TND wrongly billed.
In short, a scene absolutely unspeakable for a 5 star Hotel service, but the rest did not live up to. Too bad! It wasn't the first time I got out there but I think it will definitely be the last.
