Review of Jewels Villas Phuket 4*

Please read before booking! termites and cockroaches we booked this place for 7 people. The first bedroom on the left side of the backyard is undoubtably infested with termites and cockroaches. Once we got there we found a huge tarantula in the same room, which at first came at no shock considering the fact that we were located in a tropical environment. The bedroom doors were left open when we arrived so we assumed that it must’ve crawled in during that period of time. However, upon our arrival later that night and after keeping all the doors to the rooms closed, the discovery of insects was never ending. There were termites all over my friends suitcase and a bunch of termite wings on the ground. We looked around to find where they were coming in from and found holes in the walls and on top of the ceiling! We kindly informed the host concerning the issue but she refused to believe they were termites. In fact, her excuse was “termites don’t have wings, it’s not termites :). ” Please research reproductive termites and trust credible sources. After a certain maturity level in termites, they do in fact grow wings that they then shed, which is exactly what we saw all over the bedroom floor and on my friends suitcase. As a response to this issue, the host proceeded in having the bedroom sprayed as well as patching the holes in the walls. However, it doesn’t take a genius to know that termites eat wood. Therefore, her solution of patching the holes was redundant and pointless. The entire house needs to be tented and fumigated, in order to solve the termite issue. As expected, we still were not comfortable sleeping in that room and proceeded to ask for any sort of refund and or accommodation for that room was being unused the whole time of our stay. KICKED US OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT We then proceeded to deal with this issue through Airbnb and came to an agreement that since it was late, we were going to stay that one night and check out in the morning. However, at 10 pm at night the host barges into the villa unannounced, and entirely unprofessional, screaming at all 7 of us to get out of her house and to go back to our country. Not only was she unprofessional, but completely apathetic to the fact that we in the middle of the jungle and had no where else to go. She lacked hospitality of any sort and only cared about the fact that she was going to have to refund us and not about how her villa was infested with termites and completely ruining our vacation. Please stay as far away from these people and book somewhere else!
