Adagio JinQuaShi A good class MING SU, very comfortable big rooms. Supervisor Ms Liang and Mr Yang is commendable for their great attention and service, any time better than a 5star hotel. There is a flight of stone stairs from the carpark to the main entrance — not an issue for us at all. Not to miss is their dinner — served together at the same time with all other guests — for a reason. Every dish is proudly introduced, creatively presented and most important — it’s taste great. Definitely worth the NT600 charged separately — a MUST thing to do when staying here. Walking to Jiu Fen Old Street is also easy, we took 1 hour but with many photo breaks. Coming back we took a cab which cost NT300 and took us 10mins. Writing a long review because the whole MingSu team really deserve it — well done and keep up the good work!

It's a great place for relaxation. Hidden in the valley. The room is cozy and clean. Food is light with decent taste. The major complaint is about the air condition. It's a centralized system with antique ventilation. Can be noisy for certain sensitive group requesting good sleep quality. I couldn't sleep well with the noise of ventilation but it'd be too hot turning off.

Warning — Spoilers*** (Otherwise just read the first and last paragraph. ) We chose Adagio B&B after seeing how nice the photos were online. Booked one at about TWD7000 per night which was almost double the price of other decent hotels in Taipei. Located high up in the mountains at Jinguashi, its a 10 minute drive down very very small lanes from Jiufen Old Street. Our driver was really careful not to get lost. There were no street lamps long the way making it impossible to walk or even drive out at night. When we reached, we realised that the carpark and the lobby was a distance away and we had to drag our luggage up either a winding path or a long flight of stairs (Our poor driver! ). When we reached the lobby, we were greeted by friendly staff who kindly offered us some tea. They asked if we had bought takeaways for our dinner as it was 5.30pm and the sun was setting. It was impossible to get dinner there and they locked the main doors at night for safety (a bit late for such an advice if you asked me). Adago is a minsu operated almost like a hotel. But with a slight personal touch. The upkeep was good. It had a closy clean feeling. Lockers were provided for shoes as shoes were not allowed from the second floor onwards. Rooms were not labelled with numbers but with themes taken out of chinese novels drawn randomly by us. We were offered three types of scent for our bath — we chose lavander.
