Aldino picked us up at the station. Our bags appeared in our room — Nice. Easy! When we looked out the double doors on our balcony to the Jungfrau mountains in the distance, I knew that Berghaus had the best location & view in Wengen. We've stayed here a few times before and each time I'm thankful for the great quiet, not crowded location. Berghaus Hotel is Swiss immaculate and has such old Swiss charm. The larger room 15 has an absolutely fabulous balcony view. We had a few very good dinners in the restaurant. They offer lake fish and meat speciality. Their breakfast is elegant, simple and everything I would want. A very generous and thoughtful spread. The BEST roll I've ever had. Warm, crusty, brown, soft inside. Always with home made butter and jam. I could have 3 rolls a day. The family-run hotel is my all time favorite in Switzerland. Personable and attentive. Friendly staff. Clean, efficient. Martina was the best and helped me plan my first paragliding thrill. We wish them well, health and happiness. We hope to return soon, next time when it's colder.

Don;'t stay in the village or near the train station. It's too loud with people and vehicles. Berghaus had THE BEST view. It was the epitome of Swiss mountain villages and mountains. There a large grassy field right outside and I saw a farmer and his wife use pitchforks to turn the hay over to dry. What a view! When I come back I will make sure I stay here again. Fantastic family owned hotel with amazing views and great location where you get the best of both worlds — great views, quiet but only a 3 minute walk into the town centre. Highly recommended.
