It’s a beautiful place. Very clean and staff is polite and nice. Air conditioner works 24 hours and the rooms are immaculate clean. Just the curtains can be a bit noise when people are getting out from their capsules without opening it properly. We got a double bed capsule and it was good. Although staff are also using those toilets. Very disappointing breakfast. We didn’t get the one in the menu and it was still 8:15 am (they serve from 7 to 9 am). So they offered us a sandwich with sardine, mayonnaise and onions plus tomato. It was not definitely tasty and I couldn’t eat it as the flavor of the sardine was not good. So I asked for only toast and butter. Also very tasteless. Luckily I had cake in my backpack so I was able to get my own breakfast.

Wonderful sleep in clean cozy surprisingly spacious capsule. Good breakfast. Little bit of noise from neighboring capsules but was ready for that so no problem. A great bargain and good location. Will return.

Came here very late at night after a flight delay. The receptionist was fast and efficient. And most importantly, very very friendly. He helped offered me food because I was starving that night. The concept is amazing and it works well. The bed and rooms are clean. So are the bathrooms. Would be back and would recommend to anyone. Keep it up!

Very clean and comfortable! The breakfast is wonderful! All the staffs are nice and friendly! We like here very much :-)

Good hotel in Paso, well located even that excessively expensive for what it is.

Pricey for what you get. Comfortable beds but can get hot at nights, even with the AC on. Bathrooms get full quickly but there are several available around the hostel. Close to the train station, but far from all the sightseeing locations.

Very neat and tidy with comfortable beds. You have your own locker where you can keep small stuff like a backpack. Has free Wi-Fi. The complimentary breakfast provided is very simple and little and could thus be a disappointment. The bathrooms are good but do carry shower gel as they don't provide it.

Super clean, nice staff, the breakfast is pretty good (but relatively small tho), will rather paying more for a full breakfast. Wi-Fi is free and ok (decent). Will come back again!

It's a great place. I had a premium bed but that day, I was the only person so basically I have all the premium room to myself! Very comfortable and clean. Staffs are friendly, kind, and cheerful. Did not try the breakfast since I am allergic to it. But they put in a lot of effort in offering something else.

Clean and nice. Good location if you like the ford area. The capsules work really well and gives you the option to be "alone" in a hostel dorm. Rooftop is what it is, not much to see because it not that high up but works well for chill. Staff is nice and breakfast is decent.

Very nice hostel, I stayed here for one night one day. It was wonderful experience, you have your own seprate bed. Good for privacy lovers.

I just a very good & terrific review about your hotel. But honestly I really regretted posting a bit too early. Today being my last night here turned out to be terrible experience. I went out for lunch when the housekeeping staff came to clean my bed. But when I came back, nothing was done to my bed. Even my last night towel wasn't changed. Apparently the front desk girl told that your hotel doesn't clean & tidy the bed everyday. Really? What a joke! This is the first time I'm hearing this. For this, I think I'm thinking that you do not deserve my earlier review.

Well, I arrived in the early morning hours of 26th of September 2017 & I had loved it since the moment I stepped in Star Anise Boutique Capsules. It's my first experience in staying in such hotels. The staff were extremely nice, courteous & polite. The place is very well maintained & most importantly clean. Breakfast was simple but nice. In fact, I have nothing to complain at all. I'll definitely come here again & the place is really worth recommending to my friends.

The lady at check-in behaved very rudely and lack hospitality towards guests. Waking me up in the middle of my sleep to tell me she forbids me from falling asleep in the lobby, while waiting for check in time. It looks bad for the hotel. How mean. It is a capsule hotel where backpackers go for a night's sleep after all, not a 5 star luxury resort. She refused to check me in, insisting to charge me USD10 if I needed an early check-in, even if it's just a couple of hours early. The hotel should train their staff to treat guests with more respect. On a positive note, the place is very clean.

AWESOME! this is really one of the best place I had stayed. The frontdesk is very active and they are open 24hrs literally. I enjoyed my stay and felt so safe. They are crazy on cleanliness. So thats perfect for me. This is the go to place in Srilanka, colombo.

Capsule like hostel near the Dutch hospital. Clean. But lack of privacy. Camera is in the room and are consistent monitored by staff. Changing bed sheet and allow new occupants to come in @6.30 am causing everyone to wake up.

The good: great location, very clean, good common areas to hang out, AC the bad: slow (15-20 minute) check in time, premium capsules not really any better than the regular ones — — — not worth the price, slow Wi-Fi, not allowed to wear shoes in the hostel and must leave them open on the ground floor with no security and open to anyone on the street, poor breakfast (hard boiled eggs and toast), no kitchen access, frequent power interuptions.

Very clean hostel. The beds were super comfortable!. The staff super helpful and nice. Especially Aruna! I came here twice! daily changing breakfast.

Stayed here a while ago on a solo trip.
Was mesmerized the moment I stepped in.
A completely different atmosphere in contrast to other boutique/capsule hotels that I've stayed in.
Rooms/beds were great and location is really good too.
The front desk people were exceptionally courteous & helpful which really made my stay excellent.

I hated it. This is Racism in my own country.
I went there with a friend of mine. Receptionist was rude to me. As soon as he saw me, he asked "Are you a Sri Lankan? "
I answered "Yes I am"
Then he replied "Sorry, you can't go beyond the place you are. Because Sri Lankan are not allowed in"
I was shocked. And my friend too.
What is this? Is it because I am dark? Why do you practice colour bar in this country?
Why do you go behind white skin?
Do you think they are superior and Sri Lankans are third grade? My dear friend, go to any other country and see how they treat their own people! I am ashamed that there people like you, hotels like yours are still exsit.

It was a pleasant and a warm welcome and enjoyed the time during my stay. The rooms are safe and comfortable and clean recommend for groups of friend to enjoy it's the best place.

Basic, cheap and efficient accommodation — definitely recommended.

Don't hesitate to book this place! I'm from the bay area, California (aka snob central) and this place is fantastic. Not ADA friendly however, because there are stairs from the street to the lobby. Otherwise perfect. Shoes of at the door is nice. Capsules are clean, spacious, and quiet. AC is pumping, bathrooms are clean, Wi-Fi is fast and free. Breakfast is included and super good. The coffee was legit! There's a rooftop terrace and lounge area. Neighborhood doesn't look like much but this is a hidden gem for sure. Highly recommend! Edit: had to add HOT SHOWERS, with great water pressure. And they do laundry! I have a feeling this place has set the bar way high and the rest of my accommodations this trip will be sorely lacking.
