Rather interesting place. It is bit different than your yousual palace in terms of display. For 1500 won you have access to the palace for 3500 to neighbouring museums as well. Palace itself does not have many exhibits, yet draws people in with its architectural design, I think. Plus it offers life exibition of traditional Korean martial arts. Not sure if it is every day or I'm the afternoons as well, could not find any additional information. I went there on Thursday just before 11 am. Maybe I was just lucky. The performance lasted about 20 minutes. When you finish the tour in the Palace there is golden Buddha statue on the side of the mountain and small shrine at the top of the mountain behind the palace. If you face the entrance to the palace the way up the mountain will be on your left. Be prepared it is free but exhausting especially in hot weather. There is stop for refreshments and toilets roughly half way through, though. Whole climb takes about 20 minutes but sights are breathtaking.

Amazing palace. Great history and it's all told in multiple languages on boards through the area. You can enjoy the scenery and have long walks. You can spend the majority of the day looking at everything it has to offer. Including shows of Korean martial arts. Don't pass this up. It's easy to get there, thanks to the vast public transportation network throughout Korea.

It is a very historical and nice place to take a walk during day or night time. If you have the chance to walk around whole the fortress then you'll be mesmerized with a beauty of nature and interesting architechture.

It is a small palace compared to the ones in Seoul but it is worth seeing if you are in the area.

Large palace and beautiful-well managed one. Some attractions only at holidays but the palace itself is already great attraction.

Awesome historical site, beautiful climb to the top of the hill, and a more amazing view of the city when you get there.

Very interesting and pretty to see. What a good walk around the fortress.

In this place were filmed some historical frames. You can clearly see the buildings of the Joseon era. Sometimes there are performances for spectators in front of the main gate. You can climb up the road to the lookout tower and from there to see the whole palace. Very nice.

Lovely palace. Not as crowded as the Seoul palaces and has some really neat and interesting displays of what life was like for both the royals and the servants. I guess they do martial arts shows at 11AM but I missed it. Worth a trip, can get there from the Haseo or Suwon subway stations.

It reflects the amazing Korean culture. I warmly and honestly invite all foreigners to visit that amazing place. I visited it 3 times and I will visit it again and again ^_^ Many times cultural ceremonies are held there for free of charge!

The palace is not as grand nor big as compare to those in Seoul but together with the fortress, it makes for a pleasant day trip away from Seoul. The fact that it is less crowded makes it even better.

The palace grounds aren't amazing, but the neighborhoods around it are friendly, there are a number of nice restaurants and art galleries, and you can take a hike around the old palace walls. It's a nice excursion and it's only 10-15 minutes by bus from Suwon Station.

Key to this site is to see the free shows, that is what moves it from a 4 star to 5 stars. Check before you go what are that times! The show last 1/2 each time.
