Had the most wonderful time at the Breakers. The facilities were immaculate and we were ok with no beach allowed. The absolute hero’s of the week were undoubtedly the entertainment crew, Ryan, Ben and Tyra! Our two boys 7 and 5, were busy all day and looked forward to each activity. We actually had an opportunity to relax knowing they were in good hands and we enjoyed the adult games as well. Well done team. Will definitely book again knowing what a great offering Breakers has for the entire family.

Ok so where do I start with this resort — The staff are in slow motion and lifeless when you approach them I’ve never received service like this before it’s shocking — The two swimming pools are green.

Great venue, helpful and very professional staff. The food was delicious and atmosphere.

We had an amazing time at at the Breakers resort. The kids pool with the slide is a game changer for the kids. The service was excellent! All of our needs were taken care off by friendly reception staff and very helpful housekeeping staff. Big ups to The Breakers Resort We will be back soon!

The environment is conducive enough to enjoy the good vibe inside the premises.

Although the newly renovated rooms are awesome, we had to put up with noisy, inconsiderate visitors partying until the early hours (two nights in a row), ongoing renovations and poor service in both the restaurant and at pool side!

Clothing stolen from room. Shakeel the manager did not even attempt to assist my family nor did housekeeping. Not a very pleasant resort. Left the resort highly disappointed. Pool area needs a revamp especially the relaxer chairs.
Rules are not enforced by staff. Some holiday makers smoke wereever they please. And in kiidies areas.

Very disappointed. Service is crap. From the slow and crap attitude of the reception staff to the non existent waiters who you have to fight with to get a drink. This place is a gold mine but run so badly I’m surprised it’s still in business.

Staff is helpful and friendly. Apartments look newly renovated and are spacious. Beautiful view of the sea. Path that leads to beach is beautiful.

We booked for the weekend and they never bother to tell us there was construction happening from 8 to 4. On holiday and listen to the noise. When we cancelled they still to cancellation deposit. Not impressed as they have poor customer service. Breakers please remember there are many places, not only breakers. Have customers service values.

What a great setting for a photoshoot and I can only imagine by every visitors smiles. A great place to chill out.

Very good hotel, the rooms are so spacious and cleaned nicely everyday. Outside amenities are good too, the food as well but the annoying thing is that you have to walk to the restuarant to order your food and drinks while sitting at the pool area, such a daunting task for us guests.

Awesome venue to have any function at.

Disappointing because by booking was done with booking. Com I was not allowed a Seaview room have to book with resort to ger a sea view room yet I pay the same rates unfair disappointed.

It is not safe. You have to watch your belongings all the time as a cellphone was stolen by either staff or one of the guests. There is insufficient security on the premises.

We have stayed at the Breakers Resort for many years and love the location of the resort, the beautiful gardens and the facilities, sadly the service levels have dropped over the years. The restaurant / cafe offers a great menu if they have the items in stock, ordered a pizza to be told, sorry there is no pizza dough ordered a draft, sorry the draft machine is out of order, it remained out of order for the whole week, no plastic cups available for drinks at the pool, out of… stock, just one thing after another. The building needs painting, the deck needs varnishing and the pool lounges and umbrellas have seen better days besides many other things that need repair. The staff work hard and try their best but the management is non existent and management who are there are never seen and have worked there for too long and lack interest.
Who knows what happens to all the levy money that gets paid.

Quiet, serene. There are many activities to do within the property and together with other holidaymakers, beach walks, quizzes, family games, movie nights and sports. There were trails leading to the Promenade and to the iconic Lighthouse. Restaurants are a walk away.

My 80-something year old parents are there and having an awful time. Wi-Fi is only available at reception meaning they have to walk there to send us messages. Restaurants are poor and they are forced to leave the resort to find decent food. Very disappointing.

As a ex resident from Umhlanga, now visiting from the UK and having stayed at the Breakers for a week it has been awesome. The resort has changed, but those changes have been for the good and now offer allot more for families. My kids loved it here and we would definitely recommend it.

Great holiday resort right next to the Umhlanga Rocks promenade and the UR nature reserve, also walking distance from swimming beach (It's on the beach)

It is very good resort since renovation was done. Family enjoy the stay and the friendly staffs that even look after your kids during the day.

Lovely family oriented resort on a gorgeous coastline. We had a family unit, which was fairly comfortable for the 4 adults and a 1 year old littlun. The kitchen was pretty well equipped. A caution for parents is that the beach that the resort leads to does not have lifeguards on duty, and because it's a tad rocky, maybe go a little further down the beach to one of the swimming beaches. It is awesome for sandcastles and walks and photos though. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was good. The Mozart cake is amazing! Oh, and make sure to close the windows cos the cheeky little monkeys need no second invitation!

Very friendly staff in and an upmarket neat resort with amazing gardens, wonderful pools, a gym, putt putt, table tennis, pool, volleyball and a super kids entertainment programme. The restaurant could maybe do with improvement, as well as perhaps maintenance on the pool tables but other than that, what a fantastic resort. Beautiful views, rolling lawns, comfortable rooms and very well worth a visit with a family. The children have a blast.

Comfortably. Relaxing. Kids love it. Just one thing. Your Wi-Fi. The other resorts give 500mega a day. You only give 100. This must be looked at.

Place is extremely well kept. Staff are friendly and helpful. Very close to restaurants, shops and almost anything you might need. Definitely will return in the near future.

Really impressed with breakers. I left my jewellery in a room and they kept it for me in the safe until I returned a month later to collect. Only downside was the restaurant was closed during our visit. Other than that it was wonderful and we will be back!

The pool service is terrible, not allowed to bring my own drinks or food. Waiters are rude and slow. Takes a about 40 min to get a drink in this place! That’s if you can find a waiter! I have basically complained everyday, day 5 no changes! Seriously thinking of not using my RCi timeshare here again. Frustated.

This is an excellent resort. I have lots of great things to say about it, especially concerning the entertainment areas such are structured very well and allow for fun activities in a safe environment. The resort staff are all very pleasant and are always willing to help. All the facilities are well kept and in working order. The views from our room was exceptional, and I love that their gate gave us direct access to the Umhlanga Promenade. Awesome!

The Venue is beautiful and relaxed but parking is a bit of a schlep. We were there for a function and sadly the representatives from the establishment were not very polite or helpful.

My family is currently staying, with their timeshare, at the breakers resort. We went there for a visit, that was arranged at reception. It being a lovely day, my family was already at the pool. I walked down with my two small kids to join them. I was stopped by a guy working there, and told to go sit under the tent with my kids, and under no circumstances are we to go down the steps to my waiting family, or enter the pool for a swim. I asked him to walk with me and explain this to my waiting family. The one 'guard' then told the 'guard' at the bottom of the stairs to make sure we don't enter the pool. It was a boiling hot, February, out of season day, and all my kids wanted to do was take a swim with their cousin. We were treated with disrespect and being made out as criminals. All the other hotels on the Umhlanga promenade treat locals like guests, at all times. The breakers resort's staff made us feel unwelcome and unwanted. We will most certainly not be going back there.

Peaceful place popular for its amenities and ongoing family programmes. Very good for family outings with up to six sleepers. Self catering. Jogging trail along the Umhlanga Rocks beach.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Nestled perfectly between the beachfront and lagoon. Clean amenities, good security and friendly staff. Very child friendly, yet highly sophisticated. I simply love this place!

We stayed in the hotel section of the resort. There is also a timeshare section that can be booked. The timeshare section do not book for short periods of time that is why we used the hotel section for one night only. The resort is clean neat and tidy. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food menu choices are great and their chicken strips are to die for. The sea facing rooms have a fantastic view over the pool area as well as the ocean. The swimming pool is clean and the water was comfortably warm. They have fantastuc activities for kids and adults alike. I will definitely return to Breakers.

Before 6 in the morning you get woken up… not by the smell of fresh air and a nice sea breeze through the window but by the smell of cigarette smoke drifting up (from 402) into our upstairs apartment (502) … When they are in they ‘catch a smoke’ every 17-20 minutes… With all the smoke coming into an apartment where one inhabitant is disabled, on oxygen (izer) and Bipad machines to help him breathe… Nice fresh air he’s getting! Been complaining since Sunday but Breakers not enforcing the ‘non smoking’ rule nor the Law of SA… “They want to enjoy their holiday and not going to stop… ” Amazingly Breakers say they are non smoking, yet they provide ashtrays on the balconies… huh?!

We booked for a birthday celebration lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the meals & venue. Nice sea views.

I wouldn't advice place like "Breakers". In such hot weather there are no conditioning in some rooms, just some stupid ventilators instead. Bathroom was not clean — a lot of hairs. And our cleaning woman decided not to wash a dish, just hided it wet and dirty in the oven. I was just in shock!

Fully fitted resort with everything you could need. Clean rooms, bathrooms. Private beach area, water slides and spas available. It's a good venue but I wasn't truly impressed for some reason. Staff are helpful but not very friendly (they could be tired or something).

Very nice resort. Kids loved the activities and walk to the beach is beautiful. Our new favourite holiday spot.

Nice for family holiday. Multiple pools and activities. One pool with a kids slide. Quick access to the beach, running trail the beach and into the nature reserve. Small putt-putt course in the garden area.

Great room and amazing views. Games room is a but dated and having to pay a cash deposit every time we wanted to play table tennis was a bit of a drag. The pools were fantastic and you had 3 to choose from. Hot, warm and refreshing. Could have stayed much longer.

Great place, well manicured. Good service with regards to maintenance, but pool side service needs a serious improvement. There seems to be no urgency with the guys that collect sun chairs for you and certainly not some of the waitresses. Our waited yesterday was great, just others were very slow, friendly however, but slowwwwww…

Great getaway for the whole family. Hawaan Forest is a few steps away and is very safe after the security was bolstered in the area. Spacious, modern rooms. Resort is now top class with a family swimming pool, beach volleyball court, entertainment area and much more.

Not a bad place looks amazing but rooms could be better, lacking maintenance.

Friendly service and good facilities. Restaurant permanently smells like burned cheese. Everything else is excellent.

Beautiful place to unwind and relax. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was great at Harry's. Liquid refreshment is a bit steep though. Otherwise no complaints.

Breakers resort is the most beautiful place in the world I really enjoyed there all staff are always smiling friendly from reception, housekeeping, security, pool attenders, maintenance, restaurant staff and at activity center they all nice and helpfully place is safe and there is a lifeguard at pool management are exellent they welcome their guest with dignity and a farewell as well they love their guest so much wow what a place I give it 100
