Review of Maison H Guest House 3*

Can NOT be disappointed at this beautiful Gem! I was booked into a Guest house a few houses down from Maison H a while back now. Fortunately this guest house made a mistake by double booking so we were moved to a guest house a few houses down which is called Maison H. What a blessing that is all I can say. I am Greek so the first impression is everything, I was blown away as soon as I walked into Maison H, I was greeted with utmost warmth and welcome from the owner Claude Harel who is a Marutian. I have no words to describe his character, love and passion he has for his guests to make them feel at home. I loved everything about this 'Excellent Guest house' great layout of rooms set amongst pleasant surroundings. Rooms were cleaned daily and all staff were friendly & helpful. My room had a small mini-fridge which really helped keep my light refreshments chilled and a microwave to warm things up especially if I got home late as this was a work trip. The room has everything you need fully self service. The gardens were tranquil and immaculate so much so, that sitting in and relaxing was an experience on its own. This is definitely for those who want to feel cared for, at home and at peace on their business trips, or holiday or really any other reason for travel. So much time has been taken by the owners in investing in the property with so much love and it is so evident everywhere around. The breakfast is amazing you can order what you wish and they are always accommodating to your needs. Gerda the manager makes the most incredible poached eggs which are my favorite best poach eggs I have ever had. BUT the omelette that Gerda makes is to die for it is on a whole other level of delicious. I have been back to Maison H every single time I am on business in Durban which has been about 8 /9 times so far. I am headed back there this weekend. What I also like is the situation and how close it is to the beach as I also love to surf. You can also walk out the garden to the beach more like a private beach it is beyond words… Also Claude's wife Debbi puts her special touch in the design and interior of the guest house has a french Mauritian look and feel. Claude/Gerda I thank you for your hospitality and making me feel at home every time I am there on business.
