Loved our weekend away at this beautiful beach house. Views are beautiful and staff so welcoming.

Fairlight Beach House is a truly unique and wonderful place to stay at. Colin and his team are great! Colin has a hands on approach, is welcoming and accommodating, nothing is to much trouble and he goes over and above (thanks for the impromptu late night cheese and tomato snack that was rustled up without any hassle)! Awesome views, great pool, comfy couches and chairs scattered about for relaxing with a glass of wine, ideal walking location to restaurants, perfectly situated opposite South Beach (my favourite), delicious fresh breakfast, eclectic tasteful decor, mementos of the family and house history are scattered all over the house. Lovely, spotlessly clean, bright and well decorated bedrooms. We had a marvellous time and will most definitely return time and time again. Thank you.

Excellent location, the entire flat smells very good and the view is nice. All rooms have a very welcoming home-like vibe to it. I would visit again.

Loved my one day and night by the beach shore. Our room was clean and comfortable. Our host welcoming. Our Breakfast perfect. My only disappointment was a trailer parked in front of our room in the early evening before sunset and became a part of my sunset ocean view. Management said there was nothing to be done. I decided to take a zen approach and continue gratitude for my one day/night/morning by the sea. You gotta laugh.

I had ONE DAY & ONE NIGHT to let my mind and body relax. We really enjoyed our stay across from the beach. As we live inland I wanted to go to sleep to the sound of waves undulating against the shoreline. Sunset and sun rise… views unimpacted… well almost except for the production trailer that temporarily parked in front of our David room for my one perfect night (u gotta laugh) … my perfect view was returned with sunrise (prod vehicle departed) … while it"s Winter for the rest of South Africa. We sit comfortably in warm splendour… security guards are on the street making sure people don't fish where not supposed to. Or enter the road at night… I was also inspired to go for a 30 minute run in the neighborhood with a few good hills to test my stamina. Breakfast was Awesome. I requested an omelette and it was served to perfection. This is truly a gem of a place to stay. I fell grateful for my time here and look forward to another time to enjoy.

What a wonderful place — just perfect to lie in bed and watch the waves with the dolphins playing. Such friendly hosts and good service. Would recommend it to anyone.

The location is fantastic.
You look directly at the Indian Ocean from the bed.

After a week-long round trip with the worst roads and simple lodges, with high fences and Nato wire or without a fence to the wild leopards and lions, it is the absolute luxury here. Own wooden terrace beautiful country house rooms, top.

A lovely place to stay, overlooking one of the favoured surfing beaches in Durban. Great personal service and good places to eat within walking distance. Be sure to ask about the history of Fairlight.

As always the facilities are clean and stunning and service is always too notch. There was an unforeseen electrical incident due to weather but they were super amazing and afforded me a complimentary stay next time I'm passing through THAT BLEW ME AWAY. They are gracious hosts and friendly and make one feel so welcomed — almost like family. Thank you for always making these trips amazing and that view!

The Fairlight beach house has everything you would expect. It is clean and reasonably priced. The breakfast is prepared fresh and the decor is great. The rooms face onto the sea and it is a short walk to the shops. The beach is a stones throw away, but you will have to walk a little further for a good swimming beach. The large deck outside all the rooms is great for sunsets and sunrises. A really beautiful part of the country and in a smaller more secluded part of the North Coast than Its neighboring cities.
