The beach fales are falling apart. All rotten timber etc and the place is fair dirty. The pictures must of been taken day 1 when opened. Nothing happening at night also. Weird vibe to be honest. And people go on about saying lalomanu beach is the best. Much nicer beaches in Samoa than there. Sorry but wudnt return.

A group of us stopped in for a quick bite before proceeding to our next stop a few villages away. While ordering, we were advised that they had no ice or chicken so we settled for fish and chips and drinks that were not very cold. The wait time on the food was excruciatingly long and to our dismay, the fish and chips served were extremely oily. The fish did not seem to be fresh and was not fully cooked as someone in our group said she could still taste the flour or batter. I would later learn that the fish used was aku, which was not ideal for frying. I refused to eat my food and asked to speak to the manager about the quality of the food, but was told to speak to the cook who was extremely defensive. He advised me that we had come after 4:30pm when they had stopped serving lunch so we had come at a time and when they were not typically ready to serve food. Overall, very disappointing and I will never return.

Absolutely Amazing! We stayed in one of the villas on the mountain side and although it was only for a night, it was worth it! The beach and the fales are just stunning. Staff are some of the most friendliest we have ever met which was a bonus! Would love to go back to this place! Till next time ♥️

Better service, food and hygiene. We were declined cocktails at the bar and cup of tea. Breakfast and dinner not too exciting but Lalomanu itself the beach and location are top notch!

Power has been out since 3am because they are on a prepaid power system and management has not monitored their power and renewed payment. Been without power/AC. Staff left on the grounds unable to help. We have been told the admin people will be in at 9am. Same thing happened to other guest yesterday. We are staying in the Villas. We saw a family yesterday sleeping in their car with the air on to keep cool.

What a great experience for our first family trip to Samoa. The fales are beautifully positioned on the beach so as to have a sand ‘courtyard’ between the fales and a beautiful white sand beach to hang out on during the day. Took all the stress of feeding kids away by providing yummy breakfasts and dinners that had lots of options placed on the table so everyone was happy. Staff were welcoming, friendly, informative and kind to our collective group of nine kids. The cold showers were totally fine in the balmy Samoan temperatures, and the cold Taxis, coconuts, Taula and Vailima hit the spot! I’d recommend heading to the restaurant during happy hour (5-6pm) to take advantage of the half price cocktails and to secure an ocean-view seat for dinner.

I took a group from ILGA World twice for a swim and some lunch. They could not rave enough about Aunty Anita's hospitality, and the reality of eating lunch, and walking into the beautiful clear ocean for a swim. I miss this place, I miss that its family and she reminded me of whats important — most of all, I miss that in Samoa, it doesnt matter where you come from (my guests were from USA, Iran, Mexico, Finland), it doesn't matter what gender identity you are (lesbian, gay, trans, bisexual), you are welcome in Samoa. Highly recommended. And of course the fried chicken and chips is as always, amazing! Faafetai Aunty, see you soon.

This place is paradise. Gorgeous beach. Friendly hosts. Saturday eve entertainment to wow. We came with our 2 kids and we all loved it. Highly recommend.

Excellent beach Fales. Great staff and bar. Big family meals. Fia Fia night popped off. Great snorkeling beach. The massages are good. Bring some change for the bar and locals selling coconuts.

Best beach in Samoa. Gorgeous white sand, clear warm water. Accommodation what you would expect for 2 star, adequate. Having access to beach towels would have been good. Breakfast and dinner included, both plentiful and varied. Location is remote, car could be convenient although you can rent one from car rental couple of kms away. If you stay in mountain view fales, they are about 8 mins drive away (not walking distance! ). There is a shuttle but it is irregular. Staff very friendly. Will be back.

Awesome experience, right on the beach island living in a traditional Samoan fale. Just the simple pleasures in life was amazing. If only there was a fan in the fale at night. I would give it a 5 star rating. The food was also simple but good filling food and always enough to fill up every guest.

Gloriously casual family-run accommodation. Literally on the beach with great safe swimming, terrific communal meals, and friendly obliging staff. I can't speak highly enough of the place.

Our favourite in Samoa. A beautiful location with great swimming beach. The hosts genuinely love sharing their culture and will take great care of you. A wide range of accomodation options to suit most tastes. I wish we had stayed longer.

We were really disappointed with this place. We had come from an amazing place on Savaii to Taufua and it really was a let down.
We wanted to open a room tab for the bar but the attitude of the barman was he just couldn’t be bothered, he was very unhelpful, we asked for a menu but he shrugged his shoulders, we asked for some drinks and they came with a very grumpy huff.
The place needs a good clean. Flys were outside the kitchen drains so when you walked by they swarmed around. Rubbish around the tree base’s. Cigarette buts and cigarette packed lay around our deck.
The food was a random range of things put on the table. Very non traditional. 1x mini samosa each, spegetti bolognaise, rice, potato curry. These were placed on 1 long table where everyone sat and helped themselves but if you weren’t quick you missed out. One guest described it on the first night as like sitting at a pig trough.
We had to move rooms the last day as we ours was booked. Check was 10am and check check in at 1pm, we wanted to store our main luggage so we didn’t have to haul it round on our scooters. But reception said no we could’t store it. Luckily some fellow guests were happy for us to pop it into their room for a few hours storage.
I think because you have pre paid the staff don’t care about attitude, cleanliness or if you need anything.
We asked for soap in the toilets (which were across the Rd) but no they didn’t have any.

Taufua Beach Fales was an awesome choice for us. It was so quite and all you heard was amplified of youtube waving crashing clip. When you get there you need to go around the rock slide which happened during the tsunami which Lalomanu was heavily damaged in the 2009. You can see lots of dead corals in the sea. You will go pass few Fales and Taufua is right next the road. You will greated by a chubby person who runs the place. He is ok, (but if you get along with him you will get a free necklace. Hence the less one star :) ) Honestly you will feel safe, there were one girl by herself. We drove there as I like driving as it is flexible and Samoa doesn't seem to be a busy place. However there were few who took a taxi from Apia. Food was the only downside if you want Samoan food, as we stayed it was western food. Both Breakfast and dinner which is included in the price. There is no takeaway places in the area and the only option you have is to go to another fale place or the shop down towards Lalomanu which you can get WST3.50 a beer (pay WST7 from the fale). So you are forced to have lunch in one of the places, which is around WST20 meal. There is a lady who was nice and looked after the guest. She is a worker not a person who runs it. John is the security guard at night time which is a good guy The big guy who runs the cashier… well if you get alone with him then he will give you a free Samoan carved neckless. Also in the mornings they clean the beach which is nice.

This is sort of like camping in a wooden tent. Great communal vibe. Shared meals. Good food. Beautiful beach.

My husband and I travelled here from Melbourne with our five month old baby and we had such a fantastic, relaxing time! It was our first trip as a family, and obviously it’s a little scary. Taufua was the perfect choice! We stayed in one of the rooms up the mountain (on the family’s property — a driver takes you a 5min distance to and from the beach fales), as it had air conditioning, a kettle (to boil water and sterilise/clean), a fridge, and a private bathroom — it also meant a screaming, crying baby wouldn’t wake up guests in the fales! This worked well. If you stay in a fale, they are lovely: very simple with a lovely view and the shared bathroom facilities are VERY clean! At the time of writing, they are also building more enclosed properties behind the fales off the beach a little. The staff were exceptional and so incredibly warm and friendly. They willingly looked after our little one frequently, enabling my husband and I to eat together and swim together. They looked after her, and us, so much. The food is plentiful for both breakfast and dinner (and it’s free! ). Order lunch 30mins — 1hr before hand. Sunday lunch is also provided — a traditional Samoan feast which was a highlight! We highly recommend a stay here if you are after an authentic, simple break on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! People who visited from nearby expensive resorts commented that they wished they’d stayed at Taufua instead.

The friendly and warm team welcome all travellers to their beautiful beach. Every day we snorkled and saw amazing sealife and coral. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent, filling and never repetitive over the week. We had excellent massages in our fale and enjoyed a fabulous fia fiat night with performers from the village.

I love this place! Would certainly come back if it wasn't that far. The food is freshly cooked and really delicious. You can hire goggles, snorkel or kayaks. The family is nice too, the beach absolutely awesome and definitely worth the long ride from apia.

Stopped for some lunch. One of the most stunning spots in Samoa. Service was a little slow but the food was great and the staff were friendly. Water is crystal clear and the sand is near perfect with plenty of activities around to keep you occupied.

Gorgeous place for a quintessential tropical beachside holiday! The meals were great, easy access to the bar / restaurant from the rooms and the beach. And it was just paradise in the water!

This place is sneaky — they charge your credit card even when you have cancelled with 3 months notice. Not a great customer experience when they can't even respond to emails or answer a telephone. Don't waste your time with this place, because i'm sure the customer experience is non existent.

Stayed here for 5 days and had a great time. One of the employees named Tele helped us pick local attractions to visit during the day. Went to a nature reserve that had a waterhole and tons of flowers that the locals called the trench. Also very close to several beautiful waterfalls and short hikes. If that isn't your cup of tea, hanging out at the resort and walking on the beach is very relaxing as well. The resort offers complimentary breakfast and dinner with more food than one can possibly eat. They also offer snorkel gear, kayaks, and some games to play. I rented the snorkel gear for a day and saw some gorgeous parrot fish along with other colorful reef fish that I cannot name. Unfortunately, one cannot boogie board or surf here. The fales may be too close to camping for some as they do not have walls, but they do have mattresses with fresh linens and mosquito nets. I loved this experience though and can imagine others planning a trip to Samoa would be up for adventure as well:)

Walked in one day with a group of 6 friends, planning to stay one night… We spent 8 nights at Taufua beach fales! The staff looked after us so well, the beach is amazing, clear blue water, really nice fales (open or enclosed so you can choose what suits you best). The shared facilities are good and clean, the food was delicious, a great mix between samoan and occidental food. Make sure you spend a weekend there so you can enjoy the Fia Fia night on saturdays, and the umu… on sunday lunch (free samoan traditional sunday lunch). It felt like paradise even if we were not lucky with the weather! Thank you Mepa, Frankie and all of your team for making us feel at home away from home. We had a blast. Majorie & Adrien.

Stayed 2 weeks at Taufua beach Fales. Had a fantastic time and was able to switch off, relax and enjoy making new friends. Awesome staff! Loved the food and getting cocktails every afternoon at happy hour :P Best of all midnight swims lit by moonlight. No sharks or stingers to worry about and water temperature just perfect.

Glorious relaxing holiday in Paradise. I am a returning guest having spent the past 10 nights at the only place you need to stay in Samoa. The food will never leave you hungry. The beach is the best you will find, the water the colour turquoise. Nothing beats the amazing sunsets nor the sound of the waves as you relax in your fale.
These people work so hard to make your stay as welcoming as possible. I will definitely be returning.

I stayed here in one of the fales maybe five years ago and it was one of the best holidays I've ever had. It's obviously basic accommodation, but it was comfortable and the staff were super friendly (as are the Samoans in general). I would totally recommend it.

The beach is fabulous but the lunch menu just ordinary.

I wish I stayed longer and will definitely stay next year! The location is amazing, the food is very good and the Fia Fia night on Saturday is the best in Samoa :) A very big thank you to Tai, Sili, my very good mate Bruce, to Kiki and to all the Taufua Beach Fales team :) See you all next year!
