Loud! I have heard in some places a form of torture is to play excessively loud tuneless music while you are trying to sleep as a means to prevent you from sleeping. If you would like to optionally experience this for yourself please book a stay at the Grand Hotel Astoria. The nearby open air clubs are so loud you can hear the music even if staying on the 12th floor like we did, and the music doesn't stop. Even at 2am on a Sunday night like while writing this review. Last night went to at least 4am. The bass reverberates through the entire building so even if you manage to block out the sounds you can at least feel the music. While this is not the hotels problem per se, they should at least warn you of the issue before you book a room. On the plus side, the bed is comfortable, the staff are super friendly, and the water pressure for the showers is perfect. The views are also tremendous. Very close to the beach.
Very clean, friendly staff, I loved the fact that although the check in was supposed to be at 3pm, I could check in at 9am which was really helpful as I was tired. When I left I forgot something I'm the room, they called me 10 minstrel after I checked out, so I did have time to go back. They held my baggage for a few hrs. All in all a pleasant experience! I will definitely go back.
