Awesome service with good amenities to boot. Was picked up at the airport as requested. Driver met me at the arrivals area and helped me with my luggage. The driver handed me ice cold water before hurrying over to drive. Check in was smooth. Was surprised they served me with the ice cold cucumber juice and cookies while reception was busy checking me in. I was handed with 2 device password for the Wi-Fi. Room was huge with interior that suit my taste. Bed was King sized and have nice plump 4 pillows. Bedding was all white, crisp and smooth. There is a nice pine and eucalyptus scent on the sheets and towels. Bathroom has separated with glass partition with rain shower and hot and cold water. I took several showers during the day. Water pressure was good and strong. There are 2 restaurants in this hotel including a terrace with the view of the bay and the street of Burgos. Service wise, the staff went beyond my expectation. They even prepared ham and cheese sandwich because of my early flight out of Tacloban.

Apparently this is a 3 star hotel, but everything above the first floor is more like 2 stars. I was given a room with no window, which is absolutely awful hotel design to begin with. The office chair in the room was broken and unusable. The armoire didn't have enough space for clothes to hang down. The hallway is quite noisy with guests coming in and out late and being rambunctious in the halls. The bath towels were old, paper thin, and hurt like sandpaper. Lastly, I found the breakfast inadequate — a few (meat-centric) Filipino options and really nothing to tempt a Western palate. I regretted not staying at the nice hotel next door. I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Estrella much more.

The food lounge is excellent, and the rooms and service were exceptional.

We only dined here. Their resto is quiet and clean. The staff are very hospitable, that's why the service fee is a bit high. The food is great and the prices range from P200-400 per serving. But remember that they charge a service fee so your bill might balloon compared to what you expect.

Nice hotel. Stench in the bathroom and lack of attention to detail when cleaning. Staff was very nice. Cleaning crew needs training.

I liked this hotel. From its facilities to its ambiance plus the view from the rooftop will surely make you comfortable and satisfied while in Tacloban.

We stayed there last February, and very nice and accommodating staff. Good place good rooms almost same like high class hotels been to. Foods are good too.

Stayed here one night. The staff was great. They really made an effort to accommodate my early check in request despite the absence of an early arrangement. Everyone is very courteous and always ready to serve. However, THIS IS NOT A 4-star hotel! Agoda got this wrong. While it's one of the newest hotels in Tacloban, It should have been 2.5 or 3 stars. Everything here is small lobby, dining areas and rooms. Free breakfast was plated. Decent choices though and the portioning was good. The worst part though is the room I stayed in had virtually non existent signal for BOTH data and voice. I had to go down to the lobby or go up to the patio at the 5th floor to send a text message! The booking I made with agoda came with free airport transfers but according to the hotel front desk, it would be taken out soon as that should not have been the case. Justin at front desk is very helpful and warm.

I have been travelling to the Philippines and to Tacloban for quite sometime since after Haiyan. So many hotels just popped up after the recovery of Tacloban. So far Ironwood Hotel is the best hotel in the city. Very friendly hotel staff, accommodating and the security good. Food is topnotch. Price is affordable!. I will definitely stay here again and recommend Ironwood Hotel to my friends.
