Stopped by for brunch. Unique menu offerings, all sounding delicious. My choice did not disappoint.

The American Trade Hotel is the hotel that we compare every and any other hotel we stay at. There is no better place to stay. This hotel is what dreams are made of. The American Trade takes the gold in every category across the board for titles including interior design, amenities, hotel staff, hotel food and overall hotel culture. Repurposed from an old banking and trade building, the hotel is in an ideal central location in Casco Viejo (“old city”) and is a design lovers absolute dream. The entrance into the lobby littered with fig trees and tropical palms is gasp inducing, along with every other room thereafter. Our room was wonderful with an outdoor patio that overlooked the beautiful city for miles. (Do note, the hotel is directly next to a church whose bells will ring quite loud on the hour! ) With a multitude of gorgeously decorated rooms, The Library, Rooftop Pool and ivy draped outdoor courtyard were just a few of our favorite notables. The coffee shop, Café Unido, attached was absolutely delicious and I regret not buying more coffee beans to bring back to the states. This hotel is the most romantic and magical hotel I have ever stayed at and can not wait to go back. I would highly recommend to anyone passing through Panama!

of the Colonization and the arrival of the Pirate Morgan to Panama. Place to remember the Flat Arch which divided the poor class to the Rich… nice living room for large gatherings and BEAUTIFUL Weddings.

A very nice Hotel I was for brunch and although it is a bit pricey it is worth the Pema go even once. We were a table of almost 30 people and I want to attribute to that the delay in the meal.

We've been here the second time now and this is a nice hotel in the middle of old Panama City. They have a great swimming pool on the third floor which you can use to relax after they overnight flight from the US. Rooms are spacious and bake and very well equipped but the best part is the unido coffee shop in the middle of the hotel.

The restaurant has a lot to improve, it needs new chairs, etc and it is quite expensive. However, the food was very good. The hotel is extremely expensive even though it is a beautiful property.

Its quite a good hotel if you want have a glance of luxury life style combined with the golden years of Panama's history. It's a bit messy in regards to space and parkings.

Magnificent, its structure is a journey in time. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Is very beautiful. Colonial and comfortable. Eith the perfect view of the parc. Close to restaurants and the canal museam. Very nice.

Very disappointed. One of the best hotels a few years ago is now beginning to suffer from neglect. Too bad since location is outstanding.

The hotel hosts an AMAZING restaurant. Even if you aren't staying here, I'd highly recommend the restaurant.

It is very noisy around this hotel, dead give away that the turn down service leaves you earplugs at night?! The building opposite has 3 restaurants and a disco on the rooftop playing all hours. The square in front of the hotel is a hangout for locals that don’t know what to do with themselves. Also it’s the meeting point for charity workers to handout food parcels at 5:30am on Sunday mornings! Apart from the noise the hotel is excellent and you couldn’t fault it as if it did have problems you would kill someone from lack of sleep. Service is friendly, rooms big and clean and quintessentially colonial if you like a blast from the past. Don’t think we will stay here again due to the noise, better to try the Central Hotel if you want to remain in Casco Vieja! Beautiful little swimming pool and everything else bar the bloody noise! Management please get control of your neighbours. If it’s rest you desire you cannot stay here!

Beautiful, classic and helpful hotel! Sheryl and her entire staff were SO wonderful and helpful to us throughout our entire trip. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful Edficio restored with rich history. It has Cafe, restaurant, 50 rooms well decorated, Jazz Bar, valet parking. Great location A little expensive $4, Martini $12. It has an area for receptions, exhibitions, launches etc.

We were there with a larger group and we had a menu (see photo). The eating was good and the service friendly but slightly sluggish. The poulet was a little too dry. Since the room is high and it has plate floor, it's very noisy. It is advisable to have a jacket with you due to the air conditioning.

Excellent attention, nice and interesting facilities, especially the area of the library with the donations of Mr Albert!
Breakfasts are also of excellent quality (I recommend the eggs Benedict with salmon).
In conclusion, they provide an unforgettable experience.

What a great little find in old Panama! Loved the character of this hotel! I especially loved all the serroundibgs! A must is the UNIDO coffee shop inside hotel. I highly recommend the latte and chocolate croissant as an afternoon treat! ❤️

There is something that one must value to the American Trade is the attention. No matter if you are local or foreign your service is always friendly and warm. It's my favorite place to wait for someone, or go for coffee, some mint lemonade or just have lunch. (I recommend the burger! ) Also your choice of brunch is delicious.

The space is beautiful and we loved the roof top pool. The neighboring buildings are loud. There is a club across the plaza that plays music late, but it wasn't enough to bother us. The shower stopped working and 2 days later they still had not completely fixed it.

Wonderful Hotel Boutique in the middle of Casco. Great food and elegant rooms.

Beautiful place, great location, ok. Restaurant, nice staff. The side of the hotel that faces the church is much louder due to the constant bells ringing. Overall, I love this place.

Everything here is super fun. The staff will get to know you like family by the time you get to the hotel. The staff is super knowledgeable about all the activities, so feel free to ask.

Nice architecture, great location, good cafe, bar and restaurant. Right next to Iglesia Merced and Plaza Herrera.

We stayed at the American Trade Hotel for 4 nights in December. The hotel is very old, but well kept and has a nice vibe. Service was top notch. The staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel is located in the old part of the town. The area around is safe and clean. I had some issues with WifI — it didn't work in the fitness area. Overall great experience.

Service was very bad. Food was amazing (5 stars) but that service… Slow and they even got our check wrong!

Hotel in the Casco Viejo of Panama in which to enjoy the environment of Panama 100 years ago. Work very careful rehabilitation of this historic building. A feast for the eyes.

Its an amazing place, great decor and ambiance, I was there for the Sunday brunch without reservation and they still welcomed us with grace, the piano music and the service was excelent! I don't give it a 5 because the food was OK, and food matters! I do recommend it though :)

This hotel has a great Jazz Bar, great restaurant, great guest rooms, beautiful colonial architecture and a great atmosphere in general. I highly recommended, even if you are in town for a short trip.

It is a restored historic building, The American Trade company used to be operate from here, hence the name. It was the first skyscraper in Panama. 4 floors, 50 rooms, all the same standard. 45 rooms with king beds and rest with queen twin. 7 types of room. They are all different names, more specific picture of each room look at website. All junior suites have balcony. Very charming however I found that they need to clean the hotel common areas better looked after, I found the stairs and some walls dirty. The solarium has the impression of having dirty sun lounges and carpets. I found interesting the staircase: it has a history behind it. It has custom made graffiti-ed wall made with real graffiti’s that existed prior the restoration. Prior the restoration local gangs took over the building as a lookout for rivals. Also the library is very relaxing; customers may opt to have meals here, capacity 8 people approximately. They have Jazz night at the nearby Daniel Jazz Club. Restaurant with international cuisine I liked it but they need to improve a lot the cleanliness, no gym or spa onsite (if required needs to be arranged outside by the concierge) Good Boutique but must improve cleanliness.

Great hotel in a great area. Got a library/study room to chill out and a roof top pool actually worth using. I'm sure the cheaper rooms are nice, but the panorama rooms cost only a bit more and they are spectacular with their views.

Coffee is pretty good in the little cafe.

They have specialized rooms for conferences, and with good care.

Wonderful hotel in old town. A building that has been restored with very good taste. It has a Bar where you usually listen to Jazz, and the restaurant is quite good. The rooms are very comfortable and spectacular.

A central fixture of Casco, and provide a perfect entry to our Luna de meil. While receiving a complimentary upgrade and bottle of champagne certainly sweetened our experience, the hotel overall is staffed with a generous and amicable professionals, the rooms are elegant, as is the courtyard and library, as well as the rooftop pool. The restaurant for dinner was lovely, as is the Unido coffee shop within, a splurge at Danilo's jazz club was well worth it for the intimate atmosphere, and world class music. The front desk continually guided us to great locations, and helped to set us up with the enlightening Esperanza Social Venture Club tour of Casco, as well as a personal guide to the Canal, who also treated us to a few local gems in Panama City as well. All by the hospitality of American Trade hotel. Addtional to starting our honeymoon here, we opted to return on the tail end of our trip, after a botched attempt to stay at another Casco hotel that seemed rather discombobulated. We were welcomed back to American Trade Hotel with open arms, and another bottle of champagne! Both times we requested a Plaza facing room, with lovely views of the Plaza Herrera, and from the 3rd floor, ships entering the Canal. Later in the week, the plaza lights up with night birds at the nerby clubs and bars, which is entertaining, but noisy, but tolerable, as much as the birds in the early morning, bustling about the plaza's pretty trees.

Very nice hotel with a very interesting history behind it. It has improved considerably over the years.

I love it, the design is very much in tune with its location. It is very expensive because it is newly restored, but the truth is that the service is very nice (eye, I have not hosted, but it was one of my choices for my wedding night). This hotel deserves to be photographed without any doubt. In addition, it has a style very vintage in all senses.

This design hotel "cozy" and colonial contains the restaurant "THE DINING ROOM" run by one of the promises of the Latin american cuisine.

Nicely designed (bright, airy, yet traditional) and well-managed. Very good location.
